Harbour City, Shop OTE401, Ocean Terminal, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong, Hong Kong
Gordon Ramsay Maze Grill Hong Kong - Western restaurant in Hong Kong, Hong Kong
The restaurant itself has a really nice interior which gives a warm but modern mood. It is located right at the Tsim Sha Tsui Harbour, giving a really nice view to the outside. The food is expensive, but not extremely overwhelming. The food was good, especially their appetizers and their dessert, we went on a Sunday so we got to try their Sunday roast which was alright as well. However, their service wasnt the best as the waiter that was assigned to our table didnt seem to have a lot of patience when serving us, and didnt really speak clearly either.Overall, a good experience and is worth going to at least once!
The waiting staff was very polite and accommodatingThe place also has a very nice view and the ambiance is perfect for small groups or couples.Although I didnt find much value in the starters, the main dishes and desserts were amazing. We ordered the scallops as entry, followed by the signature beef Wellington and a lemon pie as dessert. The only drawback was that it was quite pricey, but overall, I can only recommend this place!
The place is much more crowded than I thought. Wellington beef portion a la carte is huge (hkd800so maybe better to try with the set.
Expect to pay premium when dining there but in return you get a killer view of the Hong Kong peninsula. Food is good and they have the good quality raw food like oyster and sashimi. Its too bad the patio is available to serve food at the moment, hopefully the restaurant get their food license for the patio soon.
The view and the atmosphere are absolutely fantastic. The service is great as well. The Confit duck & watermelon salad is the dish you can’t miss. It’s a excellent taste and texture. The Beef Wellington is nice, the beef itself is flavourful. However, the dish is too ‘mushroomy’ to me. The flavour of the mushroom is too strong.
Service was excellent and attentive. Food was excellent and so were the drinks. Experience lived up to our expectations!
Food was alright and reasonably priced, Great view, but service was very poor and disappointing. With a cake charge of $250, i wasnt expecting to get every staff to sing happy birthday but at least not to spoil everything.I took my girlfriend there for her birthday. I was going to sneak out and ask someone to serve the cake after the meal, and before i could even do that, the waitress came over and asked if we would like to have the cake served now, follow up by saying the cake charge is $250 in front of us. The cake charge was already mentioned when i dropped the cake off the day before, why mentioned it to the person I was trying to surprise? Then the cake took 30mins to get to our table from the fridge, the glazing was already melting and the candle I prepared was gone and replaced by your cheap candle.Apologies for not mentioning it to be a surprise but with the charge of $250, I wasnt expecting such disappointment. P.S 10% service charge was charged on top of the cake charge so it was actually $275.Overall, above average food but unsatisfying service experience.
Whole dining experience was only ok. Staff was not attentive. Only the view was good. One time is enough.
Amazing food! We ordered the 888 dinner set and Flamingo drink, all are delicious signature dishes. Highly recommended. We really appreciate the service of waiters and waitress, they are all very professional, introducing the food and attend our need just in time, very attentive and friendly. We really enjoy the night and certainly will come back again.
Excellent service and good vibe. Unfortunately the shades were down during a sunny day, ergo no harbour view. Food was nicely presented and strong in taste (or I should say bit too sweet/salty to my taste). Average HKD450 per head for lunch (1 main each, 1 starter and 1 dessert to share, plus coffee/tea).
Set dinner with wine pairing cost $1300 hkd including service charge. The price is fair in HK restaurant with such a good view eating together.
Good service. Great view, if the shades are not pulled down. Food... debatable. Theres nothing inherently wrong with it, but its not something youd expect from the name behind the joint, especially at these prices.
I’ve always been a huge fan of Gordon Ramsay and I was so excited to try this when his Bread Street Kitchen closed in Central Hong Kong. I do have to say it’s quite. Disappointment. Don’t get me wrong the food was good. In order to have the famous beef Wellington freshly made, we even decided not to go with the lunch set and order the whole beef Wellington. Feels like too much crust and mushrooms and the beef was tender but definitely more cooked than medium. The scallop and crab cake was fine but nothing really blew our minds except for the nice view. With the premium price at maze Grill I really feel like the service could be better but sadly it wasn’t.
Not worth it really, the waiters take bit long time to take my order, the butter with bone marrow has weird smell not good smell, smoked beef tartars was too spicy, the beef wellington was good although it has too much mushroom paste, and be aware that they will put 1$ Donation on your bill and they didn’t tell me about it , when I asked what kind of Donation and for who they didn’t know they said it’s for charity only 🤣🤣 but what kind of charity they didn’t know ,I noticed after I paid already so it’s ok.
The salad is very delicious, the grilled scallops are also very powerful.
Service was a bit slow but acceptable. My friend was celebrating bday there and they gave a small cake with candle. Overall food quality is good but not cheap. The view is stunning but it’s a long wall from harbour city. Better to take ferry.
Amazing sea view but a bit hot under west sunshine!Decent food with nice staffs!
Decent food, with friendly and efficient service. Good wine list and reasonable prices. Great views. A little bit rushed.
the restaurant is cosy the terrace has a beautiful view the food is good slightly on the pricey side the Best was the duck salad great taste and big portion
Despite the brand name Gordon Ramsay. The Food quality was mediocre. But the service was alright. However, the view is unbeatable.
Walk away!Yes, that is the title I choose for this review. I wish I did walk away myself before entering this establishment. We decided to have dinner here because of 1it is Gordon Ramsy’s name on the wall, 2great views of the harbour and 3celebrate my husbands birthday. Our reservation was at 6 so when we walked it the place was empty. They showed us to a table but when I said I wanted to sit at another table which was about 10 meters away, the hostess said we are fully booked and this is the only table available. The words came out of her mouth with the rudest attitude possible. Then she threw the menus on the table. I wanted to walk away at that point but it was my husbands birthday so I thought I will give them another chance. I can go on and on about how bad the rest if the experience was but here is thesummery:Service: Inconsistent, ill-mannered and careless. The waiter would drop things on the floor constantly because he was playing around with matches or something. The constantly pushed us to order before we had enough time to review the menu. No one asked us how the food was after it was delivered to the table. The Duck salad was not cut and served at the table unlike all the videos and reviews we saw on social media.Noise level: our table was situated next to the water station/ bar so we got to enjoy(for the lack of a better wordall the conversations the waiters were having among themselves. They weren’t even trying to be quiet or prentend they care.Hygiene: I saw this with my own eyes; a server returned a drink to the bar because the customer didn’t like it (yes, I could here all this conversation because the talked this loud next to out tablethen the bartender sent the same drink to another table! You be the judge.Gentlemen, if you need to use the washroom you have to go to another floor. Ladies, the is a washroom available for you in the restaurant.Drinks: the cocktails felt like sugary colourful water. Did not enjoy it at all. It does look pretty though.Food: quality is good - just good, nothing more. The duck salad is tasty. The burger is good. The fries can be fried a bit more to get golden. Dessert was yummy.View: Great! At the end we didn’t even bother telling them it is a birthday celebration so he just blew out the candle at the table.
Visited this restaurant during the Anti Extradition Law demonstration period. Prior to the unrest you have to book 3 months in advance for a table. Now you only need to call the day before. There were a few vacant tables when I was there. Food was good in general but the Beef Wellington was a bit raw and chewy.
Had a high expectation on the beef Wellington but it was quite disappointing. Its cripsy on the outside and tender on the inside, yet the meat and mushroom were barely seasoned. For other dishes, pork pie, the rib eye steak, pea risotto and baby chicken, they tasted pretty good! The highlight of the night, ironically, its the dessert! The lemon meringue and passion fruit souffle are insanely amazing!! Im not a sweet lover so the sour and fruity flavor are just perfect for me.Beef Wellington is bit overrated somehow. Its still a pretty nice experience here in maze grill.
Food and place are both very good with reasonable price. Worth to come again
All the staff were amazing, had a good time except it was a bit difficult to talk over the music. All our steak knives were either blunt or the steak was too tough Haha jk it was the knives. The Chateaubriand came with a knife that could cut through the steak. Ordered the Wagyu Tataki, Confit Duck salad, Beet salad, Beef Wellington, the Chateaubriand w/chips and foie gras and a pie for dessert. Everything was delicious except the Chateaubriand and Wellington, which were meh. 3.5 stars.
Nice view, good food. Nice place to chill and chat with friends.
This is an amazing experience. I am so happy Ramsay finally has one of his proper restaurants in Hong Kong. The service is excellent, from the moment you walk in and throughout the meal its professional but warm and chummy. The food is perfection, although you probably need to enjoy meat and have big appetite to enjoy this properly. The duck salad is special, although big so hard to have a steak too.
Went there for the Beef Wellington. Not disappointed but felt something was missing. May be the missing part was the chestnut and parma ham that originally included in Gordon Ramseys original receipt. The pork chop was also nice. Nevertheless, has room for improvement in the service sector. The servers wore fake smile and walked through the tables with emptied water glasses. When you signalled for a refill, she only brought an almost empty jar and filled 1 glass on a table for three persons. She left us with 2 emptied glasses and never returned.
Beef Wellington was A. M. A. Z. I. N. G!!! So as the view on the balcony! It was just worth it!!!
We met a Czech waiter serving us who is really nice and dedicated in serving us and introducing us the wine. We had a tasting menu for 888hkd plus 288 wine pairing. The best food I would say is the beef Wellington. the crust was hot and crunchy and the beef wasnt overcooked and its tender. a bit too much seasoning happening for the beef I would say. other dishes honestly are not as good. The wine paired with the food is ok. The port and wine paired with the dessert was definitely way upon the sweetness we could handle. Excellent service, average food, wonderful beef Wellington, enjoyable view.
The rib-eye was definitely a premium cut, grilled to perfection, very juicy and the meat was just the right tenderness.
Appetizer is good, scallops is fresh. Main course took too long and steak was over cooked. Dont eat the pork pie, they have it laying out in open air for hours without cover. Flies and bugs hovering over it and they dont even care and kept serving it to customer. Good luck Gordon.
The famous Maze GrillThis is for sure a place you have to visit if youre calling yourself as a foodie or Gondon Ramsays fan. They have great food and perfect dining experience. Good service with the staff. And their signature dish the "Beef Wellington" is a must have. But I suggest you figure out the portion of food before placing order.Sometimes they may surprise you. The size could be quite big for ladies. Thus, this restaurant has one of the best views in Hong Kong. You can easily fall in love with this place.P.S. booking takes one month advance haha XD
If you come here because of Gordon Ramsay, it is should be okay. Otherwise you will find it pricy and the food is just so and so. Though the view is very good , no complaint. Services are good too.
1st I would like to say this restaurant is good, not bad at all and for the price, it is very good compared with other well-known restaurants which is much worst. I think after all the complaints from 5 months ago they may have improved a lot.The staff are nice and very helpful but they do try and sell you more food if you are a big group. We did eat a lot so that why we did not order too many starters. Nicolo our table waiter is helpful and nice. For the food, they are all cook just right and tastes good. The Classic Caesar Salad is on the salty side because of the salty fish which is ok for me.The Grilled Diver Scallops is OK. Soft and not dry not overcooked, I think it is frozen Scallops not fresh from the sea.The Prawn & Chorizo Toast is not that good not worth trying. I would give it a miss. The Aged Beef Cheese Burger is good but I think for a normal person the beef is a bit on the small size compared to others. The size is OK for me.The Slow Cooked 12 hours Pork Rib is a big portion for 1 person and the taste is Chinese BBQ, not western BBQ, it more like Chinese char siu pork. Which is OK something different. The BRITISH BUTCHERS CUTS Rib-eye 400g is big and cooked just right and very juicyThe Dry Aged Pork Chop is soft and juicy cooked just right. The Hot Smoked Miso Salmon is soft and juicy cooked just right.Desserts I only had 2 dish was so full after.Baked Apple pie which was not that good. The crust was not sweet or full of crust flavour, I would give it a miss.Coconut & Dark Chocolate Cremaux is OK nothing wow about it.Overall the dinner was good and for the price, I think it is worth it, and also best view looking at the HK side.I will try his other restaurant on the Peck end of the year.
me and my husband wanted the cheese burger so we got one each. he added the bone marrow mashed potatoes as a side which was tasty! so back to the cheeseburger! its definitely the kind of burger best fitted for a restaurant with a seaview. its proper, nicely presented and has this high end look to it! we are both very happy with the burger and although we were already quite full we wanted to give the famous apple pie a go and we surely didnt not regret the decision. the dessert was perfectly cooked in terms of flavours and texture. I ordered a garnacha as well, which of course made the meal even more satisfactory! we were saying we have to come back for the beef wellington that we have yet to try!the staff were all very nice and the tall guy in glasses with a silver ring on one of his hands were really friendly and helpful. thanks for a great evening!
Signature Beef Wellington was above the standard. The combination of Classic Caesar Salad was special and tasted good. The bread and butter were amazing. Fantastic harbour view and the price is reasonable. Nice staff but no one picked the calls for reservation.
Very disappointed with the attitude of the manager. Tried to make reservation and called 6 times with nobody answering the call. We walked in and complained to the manager and all she said is they have dedicated 6 team members taking reservations. Yea but no one bother to pick up or return the voice mail. We were told 15 mins wait for table but turned out to be 40 mins. The scallop starter was excellent, the fillet on rib is not a good cut of meat. The outside is charred and over cooked but inside is rare. The souffle is way too sweet. Nice place and atmosphere but left dissapointed.
Service is amazing as well as food, gorgeous Wellington steak definitely will go to eat next time.
This is the first time I went to Gordon Ramsays restaurant. Me and my guest enjoyed every minute there with their friendly staffs, good food and nice view ( YES, we were sitting by the window to enjoy the famous Hong Kong harbour view ), will go again…
Scenery is beautiful. For the menu, there arent a lot to choose from so maybe wont pay a second visit. Chicken was s bit burnt on the outside, not as juicy/tender as expected. Octopus as starter was okay.
service from a french speaking guy was rude! Kept telling us to order more but I was just trying to have a simple lunch with my kid. Had to order a mineral water from him.Food was okay but on the salty side.I will not visit again.
Wanted to try their lunch. But I was too late.Tried some snacks, the raw fish was good... but the toast was too saltyNice view
We came right at six, and was able to walk in without a reservation although only the bar was available. Service was slow to the start, had to ask for plates and utensils on our own, and then had to ask for water (we ordered a wine and beer, and also asked for water). There were a lot of service staff walking around, but hard to get their attention. When we finally got one to ask for water, she didnt say anything, we thought she didnt hear us, until she showed up with the water pitcher afterwards. Not a great start. We ordered the diver scallops, toast with chiraizo, and the beef Wellington to share between two people. Service was quite horrid. After waiting for some time, two scallop dishes were bought out, one was just put down at the bar area. The other, the busser brought to another table. After a few minutes, the bartender realized it was for us, then brougght the scallops over to us. I dont know why the busser didnt bring it to us, nor tell that the bartender to bring it literally 30 cm over to where we are sitting . Just seemed unprofessional. The scallops were nice, could be a bit less cold (may be from sitting around much?, spicy and strong herbal taste, which worked for us as we do like those flavours. The toast was a let down, too salty, and too much sauce, just not very good and I would never order again from the menu. The beef Wellington redeemed itself, the meat was cooked perfectly, and the pastry was fantastic. Given that we paid 1500 for two in total for the bill, I think it came less of our expectations, and I dont think I will come again. It would have been a two stars if not for the beef Wellington.
The best restaurant Ive ever been to. Service was top class and the food was excellent. Plus the beautiful view!We came here to celebrate a joint birthday and had a fantastic evening. The waiters and waitresses were highly trained and definitely made us feel special. Not to mention the incredible food. The ribs were to die for. Ive never had ribs that were so tender, smokey and thick. We also tried their dessert which was as expected. Heaven!I will definitely be returning to this Maze 😀
Average service. Good food. Amazing view.
You can make the reservation via email. The food were great! First come with the bread, paste with cheese butter(?was very delicious, warm and soft. Then the first course was scallop which was very fresh, with the highlight of green apple slice and spicy chicken fillet. The main course were 12 hour slow cook pork rib (meat was softand Salmon (taste was good). Side dishes have French fries and grilled(?vegetables. Finally we ordered desserts, we appreciate the sticky toffee pudding but not the chocolate (2nd in the menucremaux which was too sweet. Hope to go again and try their Wellington beef (which they do not serve at lunch today).
I went at the end of its first week opening.Logistics: I didnt get a reservation but attempted a walk-in instead. Was told that the restaurant was fully booked even though 40% of the tables were still empty. Receptionist initially refused to seat us in the very front bar seats close to the kitchen where it doesnt appear that anyone would want to reserve. After some haggling we got the seats, and sure enough the rest of the bar remained empty for the next 1 hour before another single diner came, even then it was still half unseated. So 1 star taken away for poor logistics management.Food:Quality was decent for what the restaurant started out to be- a low-key steakhouse infusing asian ingredients and not a fine-dining Michelin star restaurant. Gordon explained that vision explicitly in the opening speech, so adjust your expectation. Food was served about 12 minutes into ordering, which is a tad slow considering it wasnt a full house. Kitchen staff might still be fine-tuning the workflow I suppose.Service:Service level was mediocre as the staff was not attentive enough to diners and seemed extremely occupied with cleaning, not even with delivering. Had to attempt a few times with different wait staff to be serviced for different tasks. I think the whole experience would benefit from assigning wait staff to take sole ownership of servicing a certain area, that way theyre not overstretched. Also, I counted at least 7 times that cutlery was dropped on the floor by the service staff, which means more practice is needed with basic skills. So another star taken from lackluster attention and noise. As this is Gordons third restaurant in HK, I dont think the above problems are supposed to occur anymore. Give it time, it should improve somewhat, but seriously dont expect an all-around fancy experience from a place that doesnt intend to deliver it. Come here for an after-work cocktail, a regular date night, or a get-together to appreciate the view.
We ate here on our final night in Hong Kong before flying back to the UK, and what a way to end the trip. A lot of reviews mentioning the views across the water, unparalleled in fact to anywhere Ive eaten before. Im pleased to say the food is more than worthy of the spectacular scenery. Good menu selection, I had to get the ribeye steak and wasnt disappointed, both this and the lamb chops were cooked to perfection. All the starters were good but I have to give a special mention to the burrata and confit tomato, a seemingly simple dish with complex flavours. We stayed for dessert and as another review mentioned, the sticky toffee pudding is not to be missed. Its a cosy and intimate ambience, I strongly suggest starting your meal with one of the great selection of cocktails, the Fleetwood Mac being my personal favourite.
A new location in Ocean Terminal with THE best restaurant views in HK. Food and service is refreshingly relaxed and friendly. The duck salad is incredible. Restaurant is wheelchair and stroller friendly, apartment from the toilets. There is toilets in the mall close by though.
