Had an absolutely gorgeous meal here, huge bowl of mussels for starters and a very large portion of Seabass for mains. Highly recommend visiting here for food.

Rang ahead to ask if they had mussels and specials I was told yes so I travelled. Ordered two specials that I was told about and was told they were gone so I ordered mussels and was told they were gone.We settled for other dishes which were beautiful . The ambience was lovely. The girls serving were amazing. The guy that looked like a manager could do with smiling and actually make eye contact with people when paying, nice staff make such a difference

Was a good atmosphere in the bar. Staff were friendly and pint was of a good quality.

Unfortunately, the outdoor seating is right next to the main road going through the town, and there was constant traffic queueing to cross the narrow bridge to Killaloe. It was noisy, and it was uncomfortable as we were sat on a picnic bench, and thus the atmosphere was unpleasant, but I understand that the experience would have been different had we been sat indoors.The location of the restaurant is great, as there is a nice view of the river and mountains behind it, but you cant take advantage of that view, as there is that road separating you from the view.The menu had a good range of choice, and even had gluten-free options on many of the dishes. The food was average, nothing worth writing home about. The burger patty was more cooked than grilled, and the burger lacked something sour to it, such as a gherkin. The red pepper relish was too sweet, it might as well have been a jam. The other dishes we had were alright.Prices are average/slightly above average. Cleanliness is ok, but the staff were a bit slow to come round to our table to do anything, perhaps because we were seated outside.I had high expectations for this restaurant after seeing the positive reviews, but left the place disappointed that it was very average in terms food tastiness and experience. This place has a lot of room for improvement, but until they do improve I would suggest trying out a different restaurant in Killaloe/Ballina that may offer a better experience and better food.

Great traditional country pub with friendly staff and good food ..... But to my amazement not busy. Go support businesses like this or they will not survive!!!

Best restaurant in ballina/killaloe. The service is excellent, all the staff seem genuinely friendly. We had 3 different fish dishes and they were all excellent.

I specifically sought out this place as it was recommended by a friend. The staff were pretty good but the food was OK at best. Maybe I caught them on a bad day or maybe its better at night.My experience was very forgettable. Nobody finished their food and even the soft drinks were questioned - how can a soft drink be bad? They also serve a generic tomato ketchup with their dishes which is always poor. I wont be seeking this place out again.

Great selection of food and drink, all of the dishes we had were delicious. The staff were absolutely brilliant, particularly the barman who was back and forth to our table. Highly recommend it for a group meal

Goosers is an amazing place and has the best Atlantic seafood pie that I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. I wish I could find a recipe that come close to this delicious dish.

Lovely meal with the family. They are checking covid passports so be sure to have yours to fine indoors. Also dining outside looking at the river which is lovely. We were served by a very kind young man named Jakob. So kind and friendly especially to my little boy. Really appreciated his interest in my son. The food was stunning. *****

The restaurant is situated in a beautiful place looking out toward the river . The food tastes divine and the staff are very friendly .Its a very busy spot and you might have to wait 10 to 15 minutes. But well worth the wait.

Food quality very poor. When we complained that the cooking oil used in our fish needed to be changed, our comment was ignored. Our chips too were very much over cooked. I cannot understand how a chef would dare send them out to a customer. They were replaced.Very disappointed-- we wont be back !

Delicious food, lovely friendly staff and their Guinness is excellent. Reasonably priced, generous portions - highly recommend the fish and chips and the chowder.

Down in Killaloe for a cycling break and dined in this fantastic establishment. The food was superb, and the service excellent. The warmth of welcome extended by the proprietor was wonderful. All in all, a little oasis of hospitality. Will return for certain.

Food was very average, and the manager/head waiter was gruff and unwelcoming. There was no flexibility with child portions - it was either goujons or burger when there were lots of other dishes that could easily have been provided. Result was food waste as my 9 year old was unable to finish the adult meal and an overpriced experience. There are other better options in Ballina and I wont be returning here!!

Distinctly average. It was a Sunday evening after a busy sunny August weekend in the town so I’m sure they were exhausted and had been very busy.Starters were good I have to say - seafood chowder and Caesar salad. We each had lamb for main and unfortunately it was dry and over cooked and the accompanying potatoes and veg had clearly been prepared much much earlier in the day and were pale and tasteless.Service was efficient rather than friendly after what I’m sure was two very busy days.

Ive eaten here regularly on trips to beautiful Ballina (and across the bridge to equally beautiful Killaloe). What a wonderful place to eat! Im so surprise that the vegan, vegetarian and the rotations available are firstly available and secondly so good. Im not vegan or vegetarian but I do love eating vegan and vegetarian dishes and I have not been disappointed. The chickpea burger is fresh and wholesome and not one of those awful vegan burgers that looks like a real burger and is pretty distasteful in taste and looks. Served with loads of tasty vegetables and any bits you want, its filling, delicious and just makes you feel good. Lovely atmosphere, really great, skilled, staff. I cant recommend it enough. i advent; experienced it in the warmer months but its been a welcome place in the cold dark days over the last few months. My fellow diners have ordered fish pie and burgers and all rated the fish as really really good. Go and enjoy!

We went last Saturday evening and were all impressed by the food, drinks and service; plus prices are very reasonable. All our food was freshly prepared, my husband had the plaice which was beautifully cooked and presented. I had the curry which was lovely and the prosecco was divine. Ill be back!

Food is delicious - the portion sizes are very generous!! Definitely try the ribs & either the fruit tart or chocolate mousse for desert. Atmosphere in the pub/ restaurant is lovely and the town itself is well worth a walk around - beautiful views!

Had a great steak sitting out in the sun. Came with chips, my choice of sauce, onion rings and mushrooms, all were excellent.
