Good Spirit Lake Provincial Park - State park in Yorkton, Canada
Much nicer park now than 30 years ago. Loved my 4 nights here!
Was nice area wished the sand dune trail was marked and there were more maps to help guide you so you know you are on the right track
What a beautiful park!! So many things to do here. There are several geocaches you can look for. The sand at the beach is SUPER soft!! You can also grab a scoop or two of ice cream by the beach. But, they need to train their staff a little bit more about cash. The person taking our order also messed up all three of our items. It used to be better in the past, though 😊
Last year I gave this place 1 star because when you pay for a day at the booth, you had to give your license plate number and that consisted of you parroting it to the old lady at the window who then repeated it to another literally 1 foot away from her and it took forever. This year its definitely faster. No license plate requires, but talking to one lady at the window who then tells everything to the lady litteraly right beside her to print out your pass is government innificency at its finest. You have 2 people doing a one person job. Other than that the beach was good.
Great time at Mini Golf. Great entertainment & great food with friends. Lake was down as we observed by our stroll.Sat on memorial benches at the lake to view the lake & dunes. See you next year.
Aay.😉 Im Ukrainian single searching for l o v e . Ages from 45 to 60.
This is our go to family destination. We come back every year. The beach is fabulous. The lake is warm and shallow which makes is great for little ones!... and the sand is something you wouldnt expect in Saskatchewan. The dunes are amazing and this is by far our favorite lake to camp for the summer. Everything from the local farmers market on Saturdays to the mini golf to the honey farm down the road..this place is where you wanna be!
A really nice provisional park. I enjoyed the hike to the dunes and back. They maintain the beach really well.Staff are friendly and accommodating.Easy to find parking.Pay at the gate on entry.
Decent size sites. Nice beach and trail. Both beach and campsites have play areas for kids. Standard washrooms. Annoying that you are charged for a day pass along with the camping site fee.
This park and campground are well maintained and are in excellent condition. Most camp sites are large enough for longer Campers.
My husband I decided to go camping one last time before they shut down the park. We went Sept. 24 and 25. It was so beautiful! All the beautiful fall colors and it was so peaceful. It wasnt loud or noisy like in the summer. We will definitely go again in fall. 😊
One of my favourite lakes! The people at the store by rhe beach arnt crazy friendly. But youre not there for that anyway. The beach is amazing and the kids love that they can go out decently far
Very relaxing place chillGreat food , mini golf.
Happy with our stay , great sites in the non electric area , clean washrooms which is a bonus at any campground and the shower facilities were so clean. Had a good variety of things to do golf, bike rentals, beach volleyball, disc golf and great beach so much space. And the water is excellent as can walk out and never over your waste in swim area. First mini golf I have been to that has beer garden. 🍺
Shallow water, Wonderful place for kids, and nice camp sites
Visited the park for cross country skiing. Enjoyed the new ski shelter and visit with friendly locals. This is a really great place for outdoor family fun. The local club is doing a great job of caring for their trails!
Very nice provincial park. Walking trails, mini golf and a beautiful beach.
Beautiful place to go and enjoy being outdoors. Only a short walk and you can have the beach all to yourself for the day.
Stay at the Camp Easy is wonderful
The best family friendly lake! Nice shallow water.
Great entertainment Saturday nights at Par tici Putt mini golf. Great supper
Nice quiet lake for a paddle
It was my first visit to the park. The layout is great and the ice cream was delicious. We were treated to live entertainment and some amazing rock artwork.
Shallow beach is great for the kids! Lots of room for them to play!
Pretty busy on weekends. Good beach for children almost impossible to drown.
Beautiful place to camp. Beautiful beach, the sand is soft, and the water is pretty shallow, so great if you have little ones. The water is also pretty clean for being a south Saskatchewan lake.
Beautiful and peaceful. Shallow sandy water
Awesome beaches, clean clear water and friendly people!
Nice and calm place..water aint so good but still u gonna love it if u visit..
One of nicest parks I visited in Saskatchewan. The sand dunes are beautiful and the beach is very relaxing. A true get-away from the vast farmlands of the West.
Not going back. Stayed for 1 night, neighbours were playing guitar and singing so conservation officer came to our site accusing us of making the noise and wanting to know our departure date after being told it wasnt us making the noise just to have a visit to our home the following night with a fine claiming there was a huge fire left behind. Our fire was extinguished and according to the officer 2 hours after we left he witnessed a huge fire and decided to hand deliver a fine 7 hours later to our home. Makes me wonder why he wanted to know when we were leaving, how an extingushed fire can fuel itself into a huge fire with no people around and the officer who came the night before wanting to fine us magically see this fire 1.5 hours after all sites need to be departed from just to wait 7 hours to give us a fine.
Great little campground, only complaint is the# of thistle plants right in the site, with sandals on you have to be careful
Very clean. Great beach. The campground is great: tidy, and nice, spacious, sheltered sites. Only thing is that there is no water hookup, and currently a boil water advisory. The showers appear to have been upgraded, as they seem brand new and what i experienced doesnt match prior reviews of the showers in Aspen.
Excellent place for walks and enjoy summer... Sand is incredibly nice :-)
Shallow beach a short trail to walk picnic area and playground. Ice cream and mini putt putt. Never camped here I live to close but seems like very nice park.
Great park. First time in the province and a great introduction! You have to try the routine at the camp store on the lake. Best ever!
Great park. Beautiful beach. People complain about aspen and balsam and their crappy showers.... sandy beach doesn’t even have one, also only one bathroom, could use a playground too as we are VERY far from the beach. Had fun geocaching and renting pickle ball games for the kids. Great family place, beach store is really reasonably priced and has a ton of selection for food and ice cream!!!
Nice campsites... depending on where you end up! Washroom / showers in Aspen are about 20 years overdue for an upgrade and not well cared for.... this park is always booked for the summer yet gets the least maintenance! So long overdue for bathroom, shower and laundry upgrade!!!!
Great beach, sucky showers in both aspen & balsam campgrounds. Only 1 toilet & 1 shower for all of Balsam. The hand dryer is so slow that youre better off not bothering. No shower curtain so nighttime showers are very chilly!!# Great for bike riding with kids as its flat. Very expensive ice cream stores so we stopped going. Nice shallow lake where kids can play for a great distance & not be deep in water. Excellent park programsd crafty campers is our favorite!
This is a beautiful area. The camping was amazing. Bois Got a fine which was so un-ferda. Camping was great fine from cos was not.
Clean water to swim in good for children. Walking in the middle of lake its still shallow so fairly safe. Mini golf course and rentals by the beach a few different stores and a honey farm nearby. Its always clean to I cannot complain come by and check it out
Love it here. Always here for the whole summer. Beautiful beaches and shsllow for kids.
Great park, road coming into it, not so great, bathrooms etc. need to be upgraded, ergo the three star rating.
Nice beach. Facilites are basic but do t g e job. If you live five hours or less away its worth checking out.
Great place for a walk in the spring.
Best beach for kids. Clean campground, and a store near by if you forget something.
$10 for admission, and an endless sand beach. Couldnt ask for better. Its got a canteen, volleyball nets, and picnic shelters. The shallow lake is great for kids. It doesnt get to head height until youre out a hundred metres, so toddlers and preschoolers can play all day. They have a nice boardwalk through sand dunes. Great boat launch, and paddle boat rentals. Theres a huge subdivision with cottages further down the road, and a great campground for tents or RVs. Free firewood with the campsite.
Beautiful big, beaches with soft, very fine sand hug an incredibly picturesque lake that is almost always a pleasure to swim in. Some years there is a bit of algae right near the shoreline (but not farther outbut once past that, the water is clear. 99% of the times I have been there, it was delightfully perfect. There is also plenty of trees and a great playground for the kids near the beach which is rated as one of Canadas top 10. Camping is available in the Provincial Park as well as a private campground on the lake. There is a laundromat in the park and a corner store at nearby Good Spirit Acres. Wildlife is abundant, there are easy trails for families and there are nearby sand dunes to explore! All in all, a great place to visit and enjoy the summer!
We love this lake and this campsite. we have been back every year now for three years. You can walk forever out into the lake before it hits your waist. It has a wonderful sandy beach, and some good short distance hikes which are easy for kids. The campsites for the most part are clean and fairly big. There is a ton of wildlife, and we never leave without seeing deer and a ton of very friendly ground squirrels and catching frogs. One year we even saw owls closeup several times. Sometimes the mosquittos are bad.. but such is camping... Great place to go.
Perhaps we picked a bad site but this campsite was one of the worst Ive stayed at. The site had numerous ant holes and when we arrived we were swarmed by mosquitos. We were due to stay for 3 nights but as the natural sprays against the mosquitos werent effective for the kids and I (being pregnant), we left after 2. I left with over 60 bites and one of my kids was the same. I have camped all over the world but Ive never experienced this. It was, however, my first time camping in SK.The toilets near our site (S167were overflowing by the second day. The lake was beautiful and thankfully there were no mosquitos. This was the redeeming feature. Had it not been for the lake, I would have given it 2 stars.
