Enduring bakery & cafe with from-scratch European bread, pastries & cafe fare for breakfast & lunch.
I visit Bainbridge about for a couple days about twice a month, and I dont feel like my visit is completely with out stopping in for breakfast at least once per visit. I love this place. Super friendly staff, great food, and great atmosphere. It would be worth going to the island just to get breakfast here.Edit: due to the pandemic I havent been in far too long. I miss you guys. I miss the food almost as much as the staff/owners.
Great atmosphere and even better food thats healthy and fresh. I love visiting Good Egg!
Eggs, bacon, bloody Marys, creative bowls, what is not to love? Friendly staff, indoor or outdoor seating. Eat like a local!
Very good restaurant for breakfast. Service is fast and they have comfortable inside and outside tables.
Great atmosphere and kid friendly. The frittata was good. A tat disappointed with the orange blueberry bread , it was way too dry - Will return to try other pastries
We stopped in here on our way to the ferry. It’s a casual spot. You order at the counter. I felt that it was pricey for counter service. Our total came to $40 for two meals and two coffee. Food was good, but wasn’t served piping hot. However service was quick!
Pretty pricey for what we got, but they staff was really helpful and suggested the roasted veggies and helped us create a keto friendly meal. The coffee was insanely delicious. We sat outside and it was glorious.
Biscuits and gravy was perfect for a Sunday afternoon.
Staff radiate positive energy, I love it! The food is delicious and just the right size. Yes!
Delicious, healthy and filling options. The fact that their curry lentil bowl with braised greens and brussel sprouts is their most popular dish says a lot!
So good .. food, service, atmosphere all work to make this my fave breakfast spot on Bainbridge.
Delicious food in a pleasant atmosphere. A simple concept executed with excellence. Staff couldnt have been more welcoming and helpful.
Incredibly nice woman working the point-of-sale who tossed in some snap peas they just picked up from the local farmer’s market. I tried the daily-special, the Bodega Bowl and my wife had a classic breakfast with larger-than normal sausage links. I would totally recommend this place to any of my friends visiting the Island. Plus, they had great outdoor seating.
I consider myself a biscuits and gravy conniseur and I think this gravy is one of the best Ive EVER tasted. I wish the biscuits were a bit softer and fluffier, but they taste wonderful as well.
A surprise visit to this place has me coming back whenever I ride the ferry over. Great dishes to choose from.
Limited food selections but friendly service and excellent lite fair eggspecially breakfast items.
One of my favorite places to frequent -- in addition to the delicious menu, its a great place to meet friends or get some work done. The lovely patio is wonderful for outdoor people watching, too!
Great atmosphere, food was good I ordered the Sausage gravy and biscuits...it was good, sorry I didnt order anything with eggs so I cannot comment about the eggs.
Cozy atmosphere with self-seating that’s good for dining alone, meetings, or working on a laptop. Good food with reasonable prices and portion sizes!
Absolutely delicious avocado toast! I loved it! Staff was super friendly and so many yummy looking options here.
Excellent food, well prepared and presented. Today I had Not just granola, but a delicious mix of roasted grains and seeds, with a doene of Greek yogurt and slices of a pear arranged as a fan. Beautiful delicious and healthy.
Yum! Took the ferry over for a walk and brunch. Skipped right past all of the places closest to the dock and went down to Good Egg based off their menu choices. Finally tried the Shakshuka and it was fantastic! Their breads are amazing. Perfect amount of toasty and butter to each edge. If you love bratwurst add one to your meal. It’s the most amazing texture and super flavorful.
Yummy brunch dishes, nice folks and nice atmosphere. Be sure to sit outside if its a pretty day!
Sunday brunch--we shared a substantial frittata that came with lightly dressed fresh-fresh-fresh greens and the house wheat bread, warm and covered with melted butter. For dessert? The almond croissant, not too sweet and packed with filling. Everything was delicious! At the Good Egg you pay at the counter and they bring your food to you at the bar or at a table inside or out. I was pleasantly surprised at the attentive service even after we got our food, especially considering how busy the place was.
Perfect place for both tourists and locals, manages to capture the feeling of a small town coffee shop. A rare thing in our modern age.
Great food. Vegan options. Great areas to sit inside or outside.
Love this small dining facility specializing in egg dishes. We also enjoyed their cinnamon rolls and oatmeal. We were a large group and the staff graciously accommodated us, initially at the bar until tables could be rearranged for all to be together.
Stopped in for breakfast. The little touches of unique sauces included with the meal made the standard breakfast fare extraordinary. Quantities are smaller than your typical breakfast for the price, but I left satisfied. Good coffee too.
Lovely eatery... very welcoming and accommodating staff, (I was offered alternatives for dairy/gluten free dietary requirements). Food was very good - I had eggs on a bed of fresh greens. Would definitely recommend, and revisit.
Been there three times and every time the kitchen gets better. Try the nacho egg bowl... Its a winner!
My two friends and I went here at 11am on a Saturday. There was a line and the cashier told us the food would take about 35 minutes because of the large amount of people, which was fine. My friends were served awhile later and I was told my food would be out shortly. Fifteen minutes I went inside to ask about my food and it was finally delivered...cold.I was given a pastry to make up for it which is why I’m giving two stars instead of one. But I was unimpressed with both food and service.
Fancy and unique foods, its worth checking out, but the flavors just didnt quite come together for either of us the one time we went.
The food is good and varied, but a little too overpriced. Also, prepare to WAIT a good amount of time. Youll have to find another place if you want espresso drinks with your breakfast.
Tasty food. Bit expensive. Id say some dishes are worth the cost and some are quite over priced- even for Bainbridge. Love the style of cooking though. Tends towards being fresh, light and healthy.
Such a great find! There are lots of great places to eat in Winslow, but take yourself on a little walk through town to The Good Egg. Probably the best brunch on Bainbridge. Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and so tasty! I was torn between ordering the Breakfast Nachos or the Shakshuka. Landed on the Shakshuka and it did not disappoint. Perfect for my closer-to-lunch-than-breakfast timing; beautifully poached eggs in a bowl of savory, spicy goodness with brave flavors that still qualified as comfort food. I will be back!
While visiting on Bainbridge Island last week I met a friend for breakfast at The Good Egg. Im not a big fan of eggs and so I ordered the lentil Bowl which also contained a curried rice cauliflower, mild kimchi and other delicious ingredients. It was a very satisfying and savory breakfast. The menu is pretty unusual and has great variety. I highly recommend stopping in to The Good Egg when youre looking for something outside of the box. Theres plentiful outdoor seating as well.
What a warm, friendly breakfast/lunch place with delicious food and bottomless cups of coffee. Excellent menu ranging from eggs and local artisan Ulis sausages to vegan and vegetarian options like lentil bowls and seasonal toasts. Lunch options after 11:00 include sandwiches, salads, a daily soup and specials. Plenty of space, beautiful counter and a lovely patio. Perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal.
Nested eggs with service that rocks and a second cup of coffee- the best.
For a person who LOVES eggs, Good Egg is a dream come true! Bainbridge is fortunate to have a place that serves handmade, wholesome, healthy food. I love the menu! The common thread being eggs, but there is such variety in each dish. Only wish it was open longer... I can definitely imagine a glass of wine at the bar after a long day. Beautiful interior.
Love the whole food options, simple and delicious, the way I like to cook ;Nice atmosphere too!
For a place called "Good Egg" its disappointing that the only egg options are poached and boiled. And there are no refills for coffee.
I stopped by here to get some on-the-go brunch before catching the ferry. You can tell the ingredients are fresh, tasty, and healthy, compared to other traditional breakfast places, which are typically heavy, and cause an uncomfortable food coma; the food at Good Egg was satisfying and filling, yet, I feel energetic after. The two items I got (Würst and a special seasonal hashwere well thought out flavor-wise; each ingredient in these items balances each other into perfection! The owners are extremely friendly people. The ambience is open and welcoming. For students, this is an ideal place to grab breakfast and study. I recommend this place to all Islanders as well as visitors!
Great food and friendly servers. Biscuits and gravy the best Ive every had. Large portions so come hungry.
I want to point out that The Good Egg only opened on 11/25/2017, so any reviews prior to that date are for the old Bainbridge Bakers who occupied the space prior to Good Egg. The Google description is also a carry-over, it seems. Good Egg is not a bakery but a cafe focusing on delicious and nourishing breakfasts and lunches.
I love this spot. The food is really good. There are finally healthy breakfast options on the island! The atmosphere is great and I love the huge bar top. So beautiful! The ladies who own it are wonderful and it is my favorite breakfast joint on the island!!! This spot opened in November of 2017 so any reviews of previous owners should be disregarded. The location changed hands many times before Godd Egg. Good Egg is a winner!
Great food and nice people. The Double Decker prosciutto cream croissant was delicious!!
I would have given this place a 1 star the first couple of visits. The staff had a "what do you want so you can get out of my face" attitude. That was maybe a year or two ago now. The staff weve had the last couple of times have been friendly and the food is amazing!I just had a decaf hazelnut latte that I dipped my sons huge chocolate chip cookie into, YUM! I highly recommend their turkey avocado sandwich. I ordered one today and my partner ordered their turkey melt, but they were out of turkey so they gave us chicken; still delicious! We look for good places our kids (1 & 10can eat and we like it here. Spacious, with a giant chalkboard and board/table games and outdoor seating.
Regretably BI bakers has gone through a rough patch in the last few years. The atmosphere is echoey so dont expect to hear what your friends have to say and the pasteries are sub par. They lack deapth and flavor
Really good selection of coffee and pastry available. Good outdoor seating as well when the weather is dry.
Bainbridge bakery serves an excellent ice coffee and for the high traffic location right off the ferry, is very reasonable. The staff is incredibly friendly in a small town way and very quick to pour a brew. The iced coffee was sublime on a hot day and helped with the early start exploring the island. The tables outside are also quite nice and great on a sunny day.
