Good Chef chinese restaurant in Prince George

Food is okay , not much selection for vegetarian or food allergens. The Manager was very accommodating and provided good service.

Good Chef never disappoints. The food is always good. The sweet and sour pork is usually larger, redder and sweeter, and the chop suey was a little broccoli heavy, but everything was still fresh, tasty and hot. The restaurant is always clean and well-maintained, but could use some more atmosphere. Overall, a good place to go in Prince George for Chinese food.

Did a pick up online order. Said it would be 45 minutes. Called me after 30 minutes letting me know my order was ready. All food tasted fresh and hot when I got home.

Had a dinner for 1. Was disappointed with the beef chop suey as the beef wasnt trimmed properly and included considerable gristle. Also, the deep fried prawns seemed to be 100% batter and no prawn. Not likely that Ill reorder from this restaurant.

This is our favourite Chinese food restaurant in Prince George. Always tasty and hot even after pick up and driving home twenty minutes or so.

Came for the Dim sum, this is a review on that and not their other options.Good, but not great and on the expensive side for quality provided.I really wanted it to be good, as I am a big fan, but if you go in thinking it will compete with the establishments in Vancouver/Victoria you are going to be very disappointed, like I was. Not one dish was bad, but nothing stood out as delicious either. The riblets were too salty to finish. I still cant decide if Ill go back.... or stick to the frozen stuff they sell at the international store.Bubble tea was great.

I cannot believe how much I love Good Chef! Once again, we arrived and were greeted with enthusiasm and a feeling if "home". We ordered our drinks and food and had very little wait time. Food was amazing! If you are looking for a place that serves large portions but doesnt charge you and arm and a leg, go to GOOD CHEF.

I dont know how this place is in business. They got my take out order wrong. And when I brought the food back to ask for a refund, they told me they couldnt. I asked why and they said they "didnt know" how to, so I asked if i could just have a cash refund. they said they dont have cash, and they also now dont do refunds. So i asked to speak to the owner as they said only they could do it. But the owner was not there, and they wouldnt contact them. I asked them again for a refund, because I dont believe that not a single person in that restaurant doesnt know how to. You simply cant run a restaurant and not know how to do a refund. The staff (especially the old ladygot extremely frustrated and started speaking angrily in a different language. Then a lady said just give her the refund, and the frustrated old lady opened the cash register and threw my money at me and told me "dont come back!!" I looked at her, and asked if thats what she really said. And she wouldnt look at me.Dont ever go here unless you want bad service, mediocre food, and to be treated like garbage.

I ate here today with some family, we had Chinese food, sushi and bubble tea. All of it was very tasty. I will definitely be back!! Good food, big portions and a good price

Ive had Chinese food that makes you feel like you ate a ton of sugar and you get the fast food feeling when you eat it. This restaurant is not the case. It was the healthiest Chinese food I ever had. Felt like I had energy after eating it and felt really good. Tons of veggies very clean looking and doesnt taste packed with sugar. Almost tasted like there wasnt a ton of GMOs in it either. Veggies were very fresh. Super impressed will be going back. Thank you Good Chef for living up to your name. You really are the Good Chefs in town. ^

Terrible service. Waited for 15 minutes to be served, then gave me undercooked food, after trying to get the servers attention politely, she got extremely irritated, then tried to not remake the food. I asked for some compensation and was immediately told to leave and never return. Zero star service

ORDER FROM HERE !!! YOU WILL NOT REGRET A SINGLE BITE!! Wow! I am never buying chinese food from anywhere else in town. This place blew my tastebuds away! The service was quick, and super friendly. You can really tell they put ao much consideration into what they cook, absolutely delicious. I would recommend the combo option for one person. Huge portions and a nice variety. Mmmm mmmm. Everything, I mean everything was perfect! Very affordable as well. Oh ya!!

Disappointed! Tiny chicken slivers, mushy noodles and no taste. Maybe the food would be good if you were locked up in prison for the last 40 years and just got out.

Update:Ive visited this restaurant both for dine-in and takeout options a few times since my initial review. The 5 star rating is still warranted. Their food, service, and quality of experience in the restaurant is what I would define as one of the best Asian cuisine experiences that can be found in Prince George, BC.Initial review:Ive been wanting to try this place out forever and finally found my way in there today. Im so glad I did. My coworkers rave about it, and I can see why.The portions are very generous and the food was amazing. Great, friendly and prompt customer service.The honey garlic chicken was the best thoney garlic chicken Ive ever had...the sauce is amazing!

If I could give zero stars, I would. My friend ordered us food from here and it was of so poor quality we threw it away after a few bites. The chicken was so undercooked I was afraid I would get food poisoning if I ate it. Mushy, flavourless, and highly disappointing. Don’t eat here!

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. I dont have photos of the food because it was disgusting and I immediately threw it out. Chow mine was mushy and there were bean sprouts in there but you wouldnt know as they were the same consistency as the mushy noodles. I also ordered the almond breaded chicken. The chicken was HELLA rubbery and the breading was severely undercooked. Disgusting dont waste your money.

For a small restaurant they have soooo many choices excellent service and the food was amazing I wish I could give more than 5 stars

Not very good, almond chicken very dry, pork fried rice was odd. Sushi was not good either. It was an overall odd meal to be honest. Not Grosse, but not good. Spent 100$ for take out and leftovers going in garbage. I will not try this place again.

Do not order from here. I ordered $90 worth of food, took over an hour to arrive and I was disappointed with every bite. The chow mien uses stringy chicke, the “ribs” I got are just bone and cartilage and they were out of one of the only items I was actually excited about anyway. That should’ve been my sign not to order here, this is yours.

Awesome Food, fast delivery, big portions. This was the first time we have ordered from Good Chef and I must say it was very good Chinese Food, we will be ordering again in the future.

Literally the best place for Chinese cuisine, in my opinion. Staff are always friendly and the service is excellent. We have been quite a few times and always look forward to going back.

This place is awesome.Big portions and delicious food for bargain prices. It ticks all boxes.They also make really good sushi too, some of the nicest sushi I ever had. Large slices with lots of filling and it always tastes very very fresh.

Absolutely delicious, highly recommend the dim sum! You can tell the food is made with good ingredients and with care. The staff are very friendly and the order ahead system works well.

The Good Chef, way beyond what I was expecting. Lived in PG for several years and this place hadnt been around. The freshest ingredients, perfect portions (for a healthy appetite). And as hot as my wife when it arrived. And the flavors were beyond comparison to any cuisine Ive had for sometime. My wife ( a picky eater and myself are definitely new fans and will be back!

If you want food that tastes like nothing and contains weird slices of something that barely resembles chicken, go there. Tried the rice and the noodles. Maybe other stuff is better, but I will not risk it again.No idea where they got their good rating.

Im shocked at the rating (4.2 at time of writingas I just finished a meal from here and it was terrible.The chicken chow mein had slices of something that resembled chicken but tasted nothing like it. Rubbery chew strips.The sweet and sour pork had a tasty sauce, but the pork was so tough and dry it was a challenge to eat.I also ordered deep fried wontons and was disappointed... There was a tiny piece of meat wrapped in a large wonton. They charged over $7 for six, so I assumed it would be more substantial.Im not sure where these reviews are coming from about best in PG, but I there is better Chinese food from a food court.

Might be good if you never been out of Prince George.. worst Chinese food I have ever had, got the chicken chow mein and it looked like cut pieces of sandwich meat.. sweet and sour pork was also nothing to write home about. Curious as to how it has all these good reviews 🤢

Probably the best chinese food in PG but I have to warn you the bar is not high. However we ordered a family meal for take out. It was ready on time, hot when we opened it, flavourful and well cooked. The sweet snd sour pork impressed me. Nice morsels of meat in a flavourful sauce...not that nasty pink goo you usually get

WAS....very good. Went from a 5 to a 2. Last visit was just ok. Chicken has a weird taste and texture. Also didnt like, "home honey garlic chicken". Sauce on chicken strips. Bubble tea was very good the kids said. Changed owners. Very good service.

I will never eat here again for two reasons.The first reason I would never eat here again is because of the way presumably one of the owners was treating her staff member right in fort of me. I do not care who you are there is no call for that. As manager of people myself someone needs to take a hard look at their people skills.Secondly I used to say this was one of the better Chinese food places in PG, however I am not impressed. Wor Wonton Soup was swimming in garlic and so salty it was one of the worst I have ever had. I have had my favorite soup from cost to cost in Canada and this was by far the worst. Kings in Calgary is in my humble opinion the best Wor Wonton Soup in the country.

Ive lived here my whole 28 year life and I just tried this place (only opened a few years agoand oh my goodness this is the best chinese food in town by far! Ive tried all the others, but good chef is better then every last one of them. Textures, tastes, customer service! We had a large order with many changes and they couldnt have done better! Definitely will be coming back repeatedly.

We placed an order with Good Chef last night. It was a large order....we ordered for 3 separate families....we asked for them to have the food ready at a certain time....packaged separately....each order with slight variances. The food was prepared on time, was perfectly packaged as we instructed them and it was delicious, with generous portions. All the families commented on how fresh and tasty it was. Good Chef even gave us an "on the house" order of California rolls that were also very good.We were totally impressed. Well be ordering from them again soon!

Best Chinese food Ive had since coming to Prince George from Vancouver. Myself and my two friends are all from Vancouver and wanted dim sum, the internet said this was the best place and we werent disappointed.Although some of it is a bit different from what we are used to we were all happy with the flavours and textures. I would recommend the place for sure.

Ordered delivery.AMAZING steamed buns, but the fried rice leaves more to be desired. Overall for the price, I believe there are better alternatives.Mightve also been just the weekend

Me and a friend ordered about 6 or 7 items from the dimsum menu as well as chinese food. The portions were extremely large, but we did not find the food very good. The congee we sent back, and the staff was extremely sweet and kind. The service was great, but the food for whatever reason did not taste good, or atleast was bland. We got standard items that weve had before at other restaurants, like almond chicken and chicken chowmein and it just did not compare at Good Chef. Im happy though that there are loyal customers of this joint because the staff is great.

Good Chef has been the best Chinese restaurant I have found in Prince George since moving here for university. The food is flavorful, reasonably priced, and quickly made. I ordered beansprout chowmein and two springrolls, both of which were very good.The staff was very friendly and the restaurant looked very clean inside (I ordered takeout however).I would recommend Good Chef to anyone looking for some decent Chinese food in Prince George.
