Shopping mall dating to 1960 with stores, restaurants, a food court & a mutliplex.
So sad that stores have pulled out. Friendly staff at the music store. J C Penney is still busy. Trading is for mall management.
My family and I always love to hang out at the Malls and grab our favorite place to get a cool drink and delicious pastry’s. Our favorite place is Starbucks!
I have visited the following places and found them giving great service a product reasonably priced. It is a gem to be discovered.
You know when McDonalds leaves then the malls at a huge decline
First time I came to this mall was in 2019. I took the bus for the first time and never even heard about this mall before. On top of that I was super new to the area. So much has changed in 3 years and it’s only gone down hill. It makes me wish I had seen what this Mall was like before. Im not sure what the game plan is but they need to bring back new stores or at least do something with the sears building. Make this a fun place where people can shop again.
Its your typical JCPenney but they didnt have a large suit section for men and almost no white gold hoop earrings. Im not complaining, and white gold, hoop earrings are very specific but they had a very large jewelry area but only 3 pairs of white gold hoops. Still a pretty solid store and Id hate to see any JCPenney go out of business. We need to support these stores.
(Long AlertGolf Mill. Whatever happened to it, I don’t like it. Before Sterling decided to own it, it wasn’t doing the best. After Sterling decided to take it over, there’s almost no stores. Candy machines, janitors, mattress stores and mom and pop ran suit stores are the only things you’ll see here. After 2015, half of the small food court closed, leaving 4 spots on the north side of the food court. Those four were Asian places with the exception of subway at one time and a Cajun one with not so good reviews. There’s also an abandoned Taco Bell that’s walled off at the corner. The mall is extremely dreary. The Sears closed, making the north side inaccessible without going around the mall (or you could go for a little urbex in the sears). Sterling’s new project for this mall is to make it a bow wow hyped up strip mall. Thank god that AMC, built in 2006 so they’re not going anywhere exists otherwise this thing would be gone by now. Want some history? Place was outdoor then indoor in 1985.
Empty, locked down. Would make an excellent haunted house.
This mall is almost dead, but I dont why the kids play area is not open yet. The covid-19 is over, but look like not for golf mill mall. My son does tykando, so my daughter can play in mall kids play area but its been closed for so long and I dont know how to keep my daughter busy at that time. Please open play area for kids.
This mall has jc penny, ross, target, Burlington and many local shops. But most of the local shops are closed. Either they are going out of business or closed because it was weekend
As long as you get there before 11am its a great walking track.
The store clean, organized, dressing rooms are open and well lit. While clothing prices are ridiculously high, there are some deals out there. With coupons you can find on the app. I found the store very nice to shop at.
They need more stores. Its pretty small and empty.
Ginza. If you love very good food served with a side of hostility this is your place! Its hard to quit you, Ginza, but it’s not because of your staff or atmosphere.
Love the place hate the fact its basically empty except for a few shops and stands
JCPenney was certainly busier than the rest of the mall. It saddens me to see how quiet the mall is. I always enjoyed taking my kids there for lunch, playing, and shopping...a long time ago.
Up-scale mall. We all know how’s Golf Mill are this one same like quite, good restaurants, good people, numerous shops and great Insta structures. It’s a open mall shop so if you are not inside the shop you will be out of roof and we all know how’s Chicago winter is so make sure to plan according of you don’t want to frizzing in cold 🥶.

Wonderful to be in stores shopping again with different vendors lots to catch yr eye.
While some food concessions have left this mall (Kohls, Arbys, Taco Bell and Mc Donaldsdue the rise in cost leasing space and other unknown reasons, the only major players still there are Target and J.C. Penney. Hopefully in the future, there is restoration to businesses and the bustling shopping experiences that once were a center piece and a way of life for the surrounding neighborhoods.
Golf Mill mall is like a zombie land theres no stores. The food court only has Asian restaurants theres really no options. Why is this mall continue to be open.
There is nothing left. The food court has 3 spots, Korean. Japanese and Cajun. Most of the retail stores r gone. The mall, Ulta and Ross were clean and neat. Yet, it was a ghost town and very depressing.
What the heck happened to this mall? We used to have good times out here 10-15 yrs ago. Now it looks like a zombie apocalypse ravaged the place with hallways blocked for no reason, empty shops, drinking fountains and faucets not working, no A/C, .... If you want to know what it feels like to be in a post-apocalyptic society, come here...
Good. Enjoyed the IMAX at AMC.
My grandchildren love the comics book store very friendly atmosphere love it
its a dead mall. i know they are planning to renovate it in the future but for right now its not really worth going to.
Limited selection of shops, however, movie theater is great though!
This is not what it used to be. No more claires. Hardly any food selection. Ulta, Bath and Body Works, JC Penny, and Ross pretty much. I see it dying by next year sadly and I used to come here as a kid.
Used to be a nice mall but with store closures, its become very quiet and not many options for shopping
I love the theater here. The mall is still a nice place to hang out for small meetings with friends.
Golf Mill is now a complete TOILET... Its a ghost town there and the majority of the good tenants have moved out. This is because of a multitude of things, but mostly due to the SIGNIFICANT increase in property taxes. They might as well knock down that entire mall and build housing there, because thats the way it looks like things are going.
This shopping center is dying slowly. A lot of vacant store spaces.T-mobil store is not so busy which is a good thing.
Oh, man........if you want to go "shopping" before killing yourself this would be the place to visit before doing so.This place is depressing. About half the stores are shuttered and the "food" court has 3 places to go to. Even the Auntie Annies pretzel was shut down.On the plus side, parking is ample.
Although the food court has less options the food, service was good. I was happy to find the bathrooms to be clean, most malls usually lack cleanliness. Not sure who the cleaning lady was, but she was working hard.
I think the pictures basically sum it up for another mall thats slowly bleeding to death. The stores in here are very limited and if they are open they dont seem busy at all. Its kind of sad honestly I personally hate buying everything on line I like to get out and walk around stores instead hitting the buy now button on Amazon. The place is always clean but probably because not much foot traffic. Reminds me of the Jasper Mall documentary which is unfortunate.
How is this mall still open? Seriously. There are more empty stores than filled ones. I stopped here on a Saturday around 1:00 to visit the Visionworks and the mall was a ghost town. Three stores that had been open a week earlier were closed and the only people in sight were the older mall walkers. Its the shopping equivalent of a zombie; dead yet somehow still slowly shuffling along.
Also had a pick up from another online order for a Christmas gift. The pickups are on the 1st floor in the middle of the store.Very organized.Bring your receipt and and Id.
Boy, how do I say this... my experience there has been okay. The lack of places and restaurants open just makes it a ghost town. After the closing of Sears, it annoys me how we have to go through the other entrance to get to Target. I remember when this place was filled with people, I mean FILLED. Now it lost its touch. I hope business booms again.
We went to Burlington and found an awesome coat for my husband and it was $50!!!! There was not a huge selection though, we just got lucky! Then we walked to the Target and bought some things like chips and ornaments :Great and easy parking and a pleasant and short shopping trip!
A dying mall, shell of what it once was. Everytime I go back I realize more stores have left. With Sears closed you cant go from JC Penney to Taget without existing and going around. Hopefully things with turn around with the new Park construction across the street on Church Street.
There is a Target there. You come in for tissue paper and leave with enrichments for your home and another toaster oven - in red!Stopping is a breeze and access from practically all sides to the central avenues. Extremely pleasant spot to visit for speedy shopping.
3.8 stars?!?! Shocking that this is the average score from other reviewers. I started going to this mall when I was a kid in the 80s. It was a great mall in the late 80s and throughout the 90s, but internet shopping, population change, and covid just destroyed this mall. At this point--with the Sears and Kohls now gone---its practically a ghost town. I dont know how it even survives the way it is. The food court is awful and the store selection is terrible (or non-existent? I dont know how you can even call this a "mall" because theres practically no stores left! They should just tear it all down and go back to the way it was in the early 80s-- with the medical building and separate department stores. Randhurst Mall and the Brickyard both tore down their malls with very good results that work. Unfortunately, the suburb of Niles is very poorly managed, so who knows when common sense will kick in! If you want an actual mall, I recommend Woodfield, Old Orchard, or Oak Brook.
Nice place to cool down. Visited JP and found good collection of ties.
Anyone that says this mall is "nice" must like rundown malls with zero worthwhile stores. Heck, most of the stores in this mall are like a Flea Market. Whats even more hilarious is that theres two parts of this mall which arent connected. You have to walk OUTSIDE to get to it. Large anchor stores like Target have their mall entrances closed. This Mall is a waste of dark dingy corridors whos only usefulness is to provide an indoor walking track for the local seniors.
There is a Target there. You come in for tissue paper and leave with decorations for your home and a new toaster - in red!Parking is a breeze and access from virtually all sides to the main streets. Very nice place to visit for quick shopping.
Before quarantine it was not bad, but now many shops are closed.
Its your normal suburban slow, kinda dead mallDont really have much to say about it because aside from a couple of neat stores, the mall was just boring
It’s like any other mall but it’s pretty big there is a card shop that is really nice. There are a lot of different stores and some around the mall as well like a grocery store.
This is located in Niles, though I lived close by (Des Plaines), I visited few times and its good shopping mall and we have got plenty of shops with options
Always love coming to this mall. Still got plenty of good stores here, and the movie theater is a hidden gem!!
