Golden Tulip Essential Kimbima Hotel in Fria

Golden Tulip Kimbima is a beautiful hotel facing the Atlantic Ocean. I stayed for over 2 weeks immediately I arrived in Sierra Leone for an International Posting. The first room I stayed in was stale and hard a bad smell like an old carpeted room that has never been used for ages. I was later transferred to another room facing the Sea. The food is great. Breakfast had diverse options.I later held several conferences and trainings at the Hotel during my 2 years assignment in Freetown and I was never disappointed with the service. I highly recommed it.

Golden tulip was a disappointment. First the handle of my box was broken while trying to check-in, then the room assigned to me had a chronic stale scent in it.The bathroom had a worn look which was replicated in the curtains, carpet of the room and the bedsheets.There was just an air of tiredness about the property and to no surprise, I experienced same at breakfast.The restroom by the restaurant always had a strong smell of stale urine, which baffled me completely. Like how can this happen everyday when this is not a sewer. I had to ask for the staff to spray some strong air freshener.The only nice things here were the fact that the AC was strong and the toiletries (shampoo and shower gelhad a nice fresh scent. Additionally, the restaurant overlooked the sea & made for a nice view during meals.I dont recommend you stay here unless you have no option. For the price, one is better off seeking short let rentals or an Airbnb.

Spectacular sea view if you are fan of mother nature, good food and easy access to the most popular entertainment centers in the West End of Freetown.

Lun des plus grands hôtels de la ville mais un peu en décalage avec la confiance que peut inspirer la marque. Létablissement baigne un peu dans son jus. Le personnel fait de son mieux mais le service est loin dêtre exceptionnel. Le cadre en bord de mer est très sympa, les espaces sont grands mais le stick de Nescafé en guise de café au petit-déjeuner, cest un peu limite.

Golden Tulip Essentials is indisputably one of the best hotel in Freetown Sierra Leone. It is located at the bank of the Atlantic ocean. Surely its one of the best architectural masterpiece that I have seen in recent time.

The golden tulip essential kimbima in Sierra Leone has an amazing Sea view. Its rooms are good are comfy. I enjoyed my stay. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet. It has very good staff, very courteous and helpful. It has a gym with good equipments and an attendant. It has a fantastic Sea view restaurant with an upper deck that looks out to the Sea and can be converted to a event center. I had a really great time.

The hotel was just ok.

Came here for a conference. Food was nice. Long staircases. Just one entrance but a good hotel all the same. Was stingy about the wifi though.

Good conference facilities

A disappointment, food was OK. Aircon in the room wasnt effective and despite notifying the hotel nothing was done.WiFi didnt work, eventually the very nice IT guy fixed it by bringing a router to the room. It didnt work anywhere else in the hotel.I have stayed at Golden Tulip hotels in different countries and this one defined isnt up to the usual standards.Get the basics right please.The staff were very friendly.

Beautiful sea view

This is a very nice option near Lumley Beach. I stayed at this property years ago when it was the Kimbima. It was sorely in need of renovation. That renovation has definitely been done!The lobby is comfortable and the checkin process was efficient. The staff was all very attentive and helpful.My room was clean, cool and quiet.The restaurant has excellent food.I would definitely recommend this property.

Great atmosphere

Reasonable and no real complaints. Breakfast ok and nice sea view terrace. Buffet lunch for our meeting was also okay but not massive choice in options. Rather pricey is the only problem but that is often the case with hotels like this in capital cities in Africa.

I love the architecture, the ambience especially early morning breakfast overlooking the Atlantic... beautiful view!

Given the impressive location you probably wonder why you havent heard of this place. However, after ordering anything at their restaurant you will wonder no more. The interior reminded me of Stockport leisure centre (not necessarily a bad thingand the view from the small restaurant dining area is nice, across the water (though the sun sets behind the Lagoonda peninsula). But after ordering anything to eat or drink you will question whether you will ever be back. The daiquiri was cold dish water and the murgh tikka masala was nothing more than generic curry out of a jar.Go for the sunset. Order a branded drink. Get the hell out.

Beautiful and comfortable

Its the crapiest hotel. I have had many awful experiences and will make this the last. Pretending to have standards. I took my staffs to celebrate one of my staffs bday and we were treated with disrespect because we only ordered drinks which costed a lot for 6 of us. They charged us a fee because we brought a cake with us. Imagine!!!!
