Golden Dragon - Chinese restaurant in Childress, United States
It is very nice restaurant. We had the won ton and it was hot and delicious. We got steamed rice and egg rolls . The egg roll came with different dipping sauces . They were very flavorful. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. The restroom was clean also . The service was prompt. I would recommend them and definitely go there again.
The food is delicious!
Great service, delicious food, and reasonable pricing. Love supporting a family owned business and was very sanitary especially during Covid!
Will not return! My daughter wanted to add mushrooms to her food, I told them I am more than happy to pay extra, they refused to let her add the mushrooms and made her pick something else. We both ordered chicken dishes but what we got were bowls of noodles with a ton of onion and spices and LITERALLY I got 4 tiny pieces of chicken and she got 6. When I say tiny, I mean they were TINY. It all tasted like it came out of a TV dinner box. We paid $28 and left hungry.
Stopped here late Sunday evening 4/25/22. We were the only customers, 4 of us. I dont know what the other negative comments on here are talking about, although maybe they all meant a buffet we didnt experience. Instead, we ordered lots of stuff off the menu. Owner was our waitress, she was super efficient and pleasant. Every thing not only came out tasting great, it was all awesomely different from your typical Chinese American standard. Yes, it was same dishes, but each had their own flair. Cabbage in the egg rolls fresh, everything very home made. Egg Foo Young had a cool grandma type brown gravy. My pork Lo Mein had great tasting house roasted pork, great flavor. Crispy sweet and sour chicken. And three table sauces that all taste unique and surprising. My wife Melissa worked there back in 93, and it was also fun to see a place she had such fond memories of. Lastly, the place was immaculate. No dust on tops of frames, fan blades, vents, anything. No sticky spots under tables or chairs. Ever corner vacuumed and tidy. Freaking 30 year old wall paper with no stains or sticky texture. These folks run a tight ship and cook food worth trying.
Price to give four people the equivalent of a snack here is $60. A lot of other reviews mention small servings but nobody talks about the over use of breading to make your meal look bigger. Would have never gone here if I read the reviews
Food was delicious and friendly service
Service was terrible, food was terrible and the lady had one hell of an attitude. Had a group of wild land firefighters come in to eat dinner after working all day and she seemed to get mad about it. The were there for 15 minutes and never even got a drink. Don’t waste your time on this over priced sub par place. Now I see why they weren’t busy. Definitely won’t be going back. If I could rate zero stars I would
Horrible experience. Service was extremely poor. No one at the door to seat us. When someone finally came out she said "Sit anywhere". We sat and she brought our menus and got our drink order. When she brought our drinks she wanted to take our order but would not let us order what we asked for. Finally ordered something and she commented negatively on what we ordered. Whatever.. moving on... Got our food and the chicken tasted sour... mind you, I did not order sweet and sour chicken. This chicken was just bad. Didnt get drink refills and no one came to see how our food was or of we needed anything. I decided not to make an issue of it and just pay and get out of there... yall the bill was way more than I would ever have expected to pay. I didnt pay attention to the pricing when I ordered so I was shocked when I heard it was over 40 dollars for 2 of us to each eat an entree, 2 egg rolls and a drink. I wouldnt mind paying that if the service and food had been good but for such poor service and (what tasted likerancid chicken I was disappointed, to say the least. I paid my bill and she handed me 2 fortune cookies. Now surely they couldnt mess up a prepackaged fortune cookie, right?? WRONG! The fortune cookie had black spots all over it which reminded me of mold. May have been something completely harmless but it certainly was not appetizing. Seems to me they dont do much business and I can definitely see why. Those cookies have probably sat in a box for a long time. I will never go back there and now I can see why their parking lot was empty! Zero stars.. Do not recommend!!! (See photos)
Clean, very fresh meal, small locally family owned. Small selection from menus, but very accommodating to our food allergies. We had dinner and the sign says Buffett at lunch. I prefer the made to order dinner we enjoyed. Great to have a fresh made choice over fast food on our LONG travels.
Ate there once it’s nothing special needs a big improvement in taste egg rolls tasted burnt or they never change the grease and the noodles and fried rice was dry and burnt. Good luck if you eat there.
Worst asian buffet food ever!!!! Absolutely disgusting.
Food was edible at best. Buffet was very bare. Very small selection. Some of the food, upon tasting, had obviously been out all day. $2 for a small CAN of soda.. $69 for two adults and two small kids and we all are mostly rice since it was the only thing fresh. Driven by this place a million times and always wanted to try it. Never again
great food! definitely alot better than most places!
We were the only four in the place and service was lacking she never came to refill our drinks or ask if we needed anything. We also seen a cockroach crawling on the wall we wont be going back
Will never eat there again. Chicken was soured.Rice was old. And Very pour food.
One visit and never again ....food tasted awful and ended up vomiting it up 3 hours later plus way over priced for the serving size ...never again
Went one hour before they closed it was okay still the same as when I was a teenager food was hot and good but I am not big on chinese food
The food was horrible! I ordered the almond chicken and the meat looked like (pork? No ones food looked or tasted like it should.
A little mom and pop place and the food was awesome.
Not good. Dont go after lunch or even 2 hours before closing. No food at all and what there was it was old. Was a last resort stop, regretted it. Should have just went to McDonalds.
Very nice family business , good food buffet , $12 , 11-2 , 5-9pm Wed-Sunday.
Great buffet, wonderful service
Has the best authentic Chinese there is in a 100 mile radius. If anyone remembers the Canton in Vernon tx then come here for the same experience.
Excellent service and food!! Wonderful family care.
Great food! The best iced tea!
Was impressed very clean. Friendly and food was decent.
Buffet is only at lunch time so ordered off of the menu. Incredibly high prices! Not sure if this is their regular fare and this meal was just a one off, but not a good visit at all. Sweet and sour pork and egg roll were ok, but seemed off? Chicken chow mein was horrible, mostly onions and spinach with little chicken, fried rice was absolutely dreadful. Server was abrasive and lacking in attentiveness. Will never return. I would recommend a slim Jim and a bag of chips rather than going to this place.
Nice little buffet. Not near the choices of some larger buffets but decent food at a reasonable price. Older facility but seemed clean otherwise.
A very good place to stop and get a bit to eat
Good value, good food, enough food for two+.
Fried noodles were stell over priced the the egg soup was good .👎
Food tastes like it was left over buffet food that was reheated in the oven, dry, not much seasoning, and overall not at all worth the price. We ordered from the menu... not the buffet.
Food was old and dried out. Good selection tho. Maybe we went in at a bad time.
Food is overpriced for its quality. Quantity was fine but much of the food tasted like cigarettes. The chicken chow mein had very little chicken in it. It was mostly cabbage with sauce. The egg foo young was drowned in a salty brown gravy and was mainly bean sprouts. However, the service was very nice and prompt.
Food is bland small portions and over priced
All ways good food returned after 5years and they still know what we all ways order
Always has good food, and it is clean.
The selection on the lunch buffet is small, but the food was very good. It is a little pricey. Two buffets and two ice teas was almost $26. The owners are very nice, and the restaurant is clean.
Not impressed. Food made us sick..
Barely a selection and what was there had obviously been there for a while.
Barely a selection on the buffet, food tasted weird giving us food poisoning. Price for 3 people is $38 for a crappy buffet and rude service.
Amazing food, owners are so nice, definitely a favorite of mine
Great place for Chinese food. They have a very good noon buffet. The place is family owned and very clean.
Great food was my first time here
It was utterly disgusting. No flavor and outrageously priced for such a small buffet.
I never write review, this is very good food if you are looking for more healthy or like human made food. They dont have so much selection as other chain store, but their food taste like moms cooking, water taste like bottle water, not the chemical tasting from any restaurant! Chicken wing is soo great. Overall their taste is great, as long as you are not looking for many collection, you are in right place!
Bland food, terrible selection, over priced, all in all, worst Chinese restaurant Id ever ate at. Would not recommend.
Not good at all....no kind of selection and way over price...will never stop here again
It was dark and look dirty and the gentleman at the door was rude and kicked us out because it was a couple minutes past two
