Familiar Chinese fare such as sesame chicken plus spicy Sichuan dishes in casual dinerlike digs.
So tasty. I ordered seafood spicy noodle (짬뽕), hot empress chicken (깐풍기), and seafood fried rice (볶음밥). All of them were good choices. I will come here often.
Im very confident in saying this. This is the best general tsos in the US by a long mile. Crazy crispy, actually seasoned, has a little kick to it, tangy and just sweet enough. Ive lived in 5 states and have eaten just about every Chinese place in those cities.
Honestly I would never come back, the food was awful and the service too, everything seems to be pre cooked. My food tasted liked it was out the microwave and the prices are ridiculous for the bad quality of the food
Lovely restaurant. Beautiful inside and the food is great. Our server was a of fun.
This used to be one of my favorite spots. I dont know if they sold the place, but the food is different. What in the world happened to the Egg Fu Young, totally different (doesnt event look the same, cannot even eat it. Egg Rolls not the same anymore. I had been coming here since the early 90s. Im assuming they have new cooks, but not good anymore.
Whenever I go to Decatur I stop by and order fried rice and Gganpoongi which is signature of this restaurant. Youll never regret. The service is also excellent.
Another great meal. The lunch special was really good. Wonton soup had flavorful broth and tasty wonton. Large crispy egg roll with chopped pork and cabbage was the best Ive had in a long time. Mongolian beef had fresh scallions and crispy rice noodles, delicious. Hunan chicken was delicious.Beef with mixed vegetables was delicious. Very flavorful slices of beef. Fresh vegetable, broccoli carrots snow peas bamboo shoots very good service in a comfortable settingThe moo goo gai pan was delicious.
The only thing I can say is they are nice respectful people. But the food is 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢 I would not buy this again a waist of my $$ I thought I was getting braised wings I got like 3 or 4 huge legs that didnt taste braised at all they dont even look like chicken its probably cat legs. And the rice is so nasty. I tried to eat it but I just couldnt.. I think by far this is the worst Chinese food Ive tasted. They need to put pics on their menu because if I knew it really wasnt wings I wouldnt have gotten it. And then the rice look like yellow rice didnt taste like the average Chinese rice. I mixed duck sauce and sweet n sour sauce with the rice to try n give it a better taste still didnt work.. eeww no.. Thats my first and last time getting food from there. All my food going to the trash. Guess Ill have to go to another restaurant. Cause I really wanted some Chinese food. But this has made me mad.
Been going here for over ten years and its still as good as it was when I first went. Fast service, amazing food, and the portions are amazing for the price. All around cant recommend it enough
So chicken is real chicken breast so love that but I don’t think u should charge people for tasteless soups hot and sour and egg drop taste like water and for 17 I should a bigger rice but overage decent food just way to high not to be amaze 50 for chicken soup and rice never again
Service was great and food came out quick. Constantly refilled our waters, but the food was really mediocre. the fried rice lacked seasoning, and the lo mein was not so flavorful. we also ordered the salt and pepper squid, it’s was over cooked and insanely chewy. the highlights were definitely the sweet and sour pork and sesame chicken.
So, hubby wanted chinese for dinner..I googled all my options and I am glad that I chose the Golden Buddha!! Best choice EVER!! FOOD WAS TERRIFIC!!GREAT STAFF AND AWESOME AMBIANCE!! THANK U FROM MARYLAND!!!
Golden Buddha has always been a staple of my and my familys places to eat. The food is always delicious and plentiful, and weve never gone without leftovers to enjoy later. If something comes out wrong or isnt to our liking, weve always been able to figure something out with staff so that we never go hungry! I recommend going for lunch to get their affordable lunch combination.
So I read the reviews and this seemed like a great Chinese food spot to take boyfriend who loves American Chinese food. I am convinced these 5star reviews are old or lies . Something quality wise has changed with this restaurant if the restaurant was once highly rated. My boyfriend and I went there for lunch, and the food tasted like leftovers from the night before. I could barely eat it. This is why I do not eat out, either the food is awful, or the service is bad, or they mess up your bill or any combination above. I will just learn how to make some of these dishes at home because I just cant keep spending my hard money on garbage.
This was previously one of our favorite places but the last two times we have ordered, the food has been almost not edible. Everything was very overcooked, brown rice and eggrolls were awful. Something has changed and I hope they can fix it.
Our meal was fabulous!! I ordered two orders of Shrimp Fried Rice for takeout and it was outstanding. The shrimp were huge, plentiful, and delicious. We are thrilled with the quality of the dish, the service, the price, and even the convenient location. We will be back soon!
I stayed in the area for 3 days and ate here every day. This is probably the best Chinese Ive ever had. The prices are fair and the service is very good.
Got the General Tsos chicken and Beef lo mein to share. Very tasty with generous portions, with enough for leftovers! Water also stayed topped off at all times. Wonderful service!
I remember coming here when I was a kid in the late 70s? or early 80s with my family. I still think this is the best Chinese restaurant in Atlanta. Great food, I think thats why theyve been around so long.
I would say this place is between 3.5 to 4 stars. However, what my friend said is best and that is because the menu is so large it can be hit or miss with the food. I really like this resturant for the immense amount food you get and the quick service.
Golden Buddha has been an ATL staple for decades and through the decades, continues to serve good food. The black bean noodles (짜장면and seafood noodle (짬뽕are tasty and comes in a generous portion. The empress wings (깐풍기is the best item for me personally. The wings are so crispy and delicious and I havent been able to find another Chinese restaurant that prepares the dish in the same way. A must try!!
Favorite restaurant to get Jajangmyeon (Soy Bean Noodle with Seafood and Ground Pork). No place tops their dish here. Portion is large enough to split between 2/3 people and costs $12! Haven’t tried many other foods here, but I keep coming back for this dish alone!
Please check your take out order and LOOK at your food BEFORE you leave this restaurant. My order was simple... Spring Rolls, Chicken Wings, and a Happy Family entree. This restaurant wasnt crowded. It was 3:14 p.m. yesterday afternoon. There is NO reason or excuse to have chicken wings that cost $8.95 to be eaten off before refrying them to serve to anyone.
This is my families go to if we want reliably good Chinese cuisine. E we have probably been here 30 times over the years and I have never had a bad experience. The hot and sour soup is hands down the best on the East coast in my opinion. I’ve never had a wait to get in, but at peak times it gets quite busy.
Wow! The orange chicken is whole NUGGETS of white meat chicken. Like a plate of Chick-fil-A nuggets but in orange sauce. And the Mandarin Beef is ribbon slices of chopped beef so tender and delicious. One plate is enough for a few people to be honest since they give you a bowl of rice for the table. 10/10 recommend and enjoyed our dinner. We took all our leftovers home because it was so much food!
Very popular spot, for many years. Extensive menu, excellent service, delicious, & enough food to be able to take some home, for the next days lunch. The eggplant in garlic sauce is probably my favorite..
The atmosphere was really nice. However the soup was really thick and slimy and the food was just ok. Rice was kinda sticky and had way too much egg in it.
Finally decided to try this place since I pass by it every time I go to the VA. Finding good chinese food in Atlanta is not an easy task. That being said, this place has some of the better food here in the ATL. The food was really good and fresh. The place was very clean and service was excellent.
The food w was very good, but we received no service from our server he dropped off the food and was never seen again
One of the oldest Chinese restaurants in Atlanta. Their egg rolls taste like home to me. If you want authentic Chinese/Korean flavors, order off the menu that has Chinese and Korean on it. No matter what you choose you will enjoy it. We order delivery at least once a week, and was just reminded that we need to dine in the restaurant too.
I order for the first time from this restaurant because my husband was at the VA. So there wasnt anything open that I knew because Im not from this area. I order Singapore rice noodle it was awful it was Black like it was drowned in soy sauce the eggs didnt look like eggs nor did they look fresh . I also ordered 4 fried chicken wings the worst looking chicken wings Ive ever order they didnt even look like wings at all the taste was awful, I also order a spice seafood soup which I didnt even try to eat because I was so disappointed by what I had already tasted. I spent $50.00 and gave a $10.00 tip . I called to share my concern about my order he said he could give me $ 20.00 back can you believe this !He should have kept the $20.00 and refunded the balance. Beware of the food receive from this restaurant especially when you know how it is supposed to look and taste. I dont believe its a clean kitchen the food just looked and tasted awful!Disappointed 😡😡
We dined here. Perfect dinner. We enjoyed the “Jajiang” noodles, “Empress” chicken, and “Mabo” tofu, with steamed rice. We left feeling great without overstuffed. Recommended place for Chinese food in Atlanta.
Literally no one who I have invited to eat here has not loved it. You can’t go wrong with the sizzling San Shan soup and empress chicken. *chefs kiss*
Dishes were really tasty! Really good place to have good Chinese food!!
One of the best Chinese restaurants in Atlanta! 44 years in business. I love this place. Very good prices. I paid $8.83 for chicken chow mein with wonton soup and an egg roll. This place is nieghborhood gem.
Ordered the Mongolian beef, Egg drop soup, garlic chicken, hot empress chicken, and two vegetable rolls. I was skeptical at first. There were mixed reviews online. Decided to try anyways. The food was delicious! I recommend the Mongolian beef and hot empress chicken. Wasnt impressed with the garlic chicken, it wasnt appealing either.
Jajangmyun, tangsooyuk, kanpoongi were delicious. Fresh meat and seafood in the dishes plus tasty sources. Kimchi was great too. Good prices.
Amazing food! Have been coming here for YEARS and everytime i come back the food is absolutely exceptional. I highly recommend the General Tso chicken. It’s so crispy, fresh, and flavorful. My other favorite are the pan fried noodles. You can never go wrong with anything from this restaurant!!
We were/are so impressed by the food here! I can’t believe we only just found this place. This is also what I love about the diversity of Atlanta - you can find Korean Chinese food. I thought that was only a thing in Korea, but thankfully it transcends continents!I knew my husband really missed good jjampong and jajangmyeon, and I heard how famous they are for their Empress Chicken, so we decided to make this our Saturday post hike lunch stop.Everything we ordered was great, even the side of complimentary kimchi reminded us very much of “restaurant style” kimchi in Seoul. We will definitely make this a regular lunch stop. The highlights:Sizzling Rice Soup - this is the flavor of your grandmother or mother’s homemade chicken broth. It is light, flavorful, and reminds me of the soups in Korea that are known as “medicine” more so than food. The simple but memorable flavor definitely nourishes the soul.Gan jjampong - I will start by saying I wasn’t a big fan of jjampong (soup versionwhen we lived in Korea, but this was next level. It is a saucy noodle and seafood dish, rather than a soup. The spice level is mild, but noticeable, and the flavor is slightly smoky like a good wok seared lo mein. Only minor complaint, it could’ve benefited from a little more seafood and the beards weren’t removed from the mussels.Empress Chicken (6pcs- holy mama!!! This was soooooooo good. It would have been epic with that sweet, spicy, garlicky sauce drizzled over a side of white rice, but is also excellent on its own. And it is a really fair amount for the price.I was initially worried about the bone-in aspect, as it gets messy to eat, but they came up with a genius way to basically butterfly/filet the meat so it not only soaked up the heavenly sauce but was super easy to cut off the bone. The Samsun (seafoodFried Rice - this is only on the smaller Korean menu (same with the Gan jjampong). Packed with shrimp, scallops, and squid, this is also a must try. Super simple, with a little soy or chili sauce added, but very clean and delicious.Clean is actually a great word to describe not only the food, but the environment.Well done, Golden Buddha, even my super skeptical and picky Korean husband loved it!!
Love this place. Its probably my favorite Chinese restaurant in Atlanta. The egg rolls are fantastic. Theyre served steaming hot and extra crispy. We had the General Tsos chicken which was just the right amount of spicy and lacking that syrupy dressing so common in the dish.Highly recommended!
The best Chinese food in the area. I will always come here whenever I want good, delicious and affordable food. The portions are big for the price so you get your moneys worth. The empress chicken is definitely my go to and a must try👍🏾👍🏾🌶🔥The bf & I tried hunan vegetables & the golden buddha/house lomein last night...verdict: delicious.
Good food, nice ambiance, fast service! We had ordered off the lunch menu and it was a wonderful experience. Nice tea to start off the meal and then the appetizers were served pretty fast. The wait staff is pretty efficient and this a tightly run ship. Food came out reasonably fast and it was very good. Would recommend this place without reservations.
Very tasty food prepared fast and they have a great lunch menu. The general two (pronounced souis my fave!! Here are some snapshots enjoying the full lunch menu with hot & sour soup, wontons, and sweet tea
Visiting my sister at Emory and we were excited for Chinese food. The service was good. Cleanliness could have been a bit better. The food came fast and in large portions but was bland and salty. We ordered the sesame chicken, beef & broccoli, and shrimp lo mein. The rice came out not as hot as it could be. I’m sure a better meal can be found elsewhere.
Terrible. I’m actually shocked at the rating of this restaurant. This is possibly the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had.The best part was the spring rolls (not pictured). They were okay. The wonton soup was completely inedible. I dumped it out and kept the container. It had no flavor, and had a lot of uncooked spinach and mushrooms floating in it.The hot and sour soup was just below mediocre. It basically just tasted like pepper. It also had peas and carrots in it, which did not add to the flavor. The fried rice with chicken was completely flavorless. It did have a lot of egg and chicken in it, but it didn’t taste like anything. In addition to the spring rolls, the only other okay food item was the general tso’s chicken. It was over-cooked and soggy. However, the flavor was not bad.Even the crunchy noodles that you put in the soup were not good.Overall, I would steer clear of Golden Buddha in Decatur. I will never order from there again.
This place is another one of my favorites they give you a lot of food for the price their prices are great and their chicken wings are amazing they cut it in a way that is completely easy to eat I will come back here to eat again thank you to all staff customer service was really great. The shrimp fried rice was also delicious pretty good size shrimps. This time we had pork fried rice with wings. Lovelovelove 💋
I highly recommend Golden Buddha! 🏋🏻♂️ The service was fantastic and the food was delicious. We ordered the dinner for two... let me just say it was enough food for two dinners for two people. You can’t go wrong with the G.B. 👍🏼
This is not an authentic Chinese restaurant but is a great Americanized Chinese place. The imperial chicken has a sauce that is tangy with a hint of spicy at the end. Its very good. The golden Buddha in front of any entree is a mix of beef, chicken, shrimp, scallop, etc. The lo mein is tasty but greasy. The sesame chicken was very tender and flavorful but also greasy (somewhat expected because its fried). The pork dumplings are very good. Food came out quickly. No wait on a Saturday at 5:30 but front parking lot was full (more parking on sides and back). Service was decent and half the restaurants patrons were Asian (good sign!). Prices are reasonable as portions are very generous. Great place overall.
Very good somewhat Americanized Cantonese dishes, with some other styles as well. I have never had a disappointing dish here. Its not the most up to date interior, but its relaxed and comfortable with a diverse clientele. Take out ordering is very efficient. The main parking lot often has no available spaces on weekend evenings, so remember the empty lot to the right of the restaurant is their parking lot too.
One of the best Korean- Chinese food inside the perimeter. There Jjajangmein is on point with good flavor sauce and ingredients. The spicy braised chicken was really good a sort of lollipoping the chicken so its got good crisp and chucks of meat. Pot stickers were so so, not pan fried and the kimchi could be fresher. Overall very pleased with my experience!
