Golden Asian Buffet in El Dorado

There is no good reason to eat here whatsoever. The food is bland, gross, and overall tastes old and stale. Buffet table temps are questionable at best and the cleanliness of the front end leaves a lot to be desired. Heard numerous stories of it making people sick but luckily have no experienced that myself - but I won’t be back to try my luck again anytime soon.

I used to love coming here... its been over a year since my last visit (due to covid), and this restaurant has fallen, its crashed and ready to burn! One person runs the whole show, cook. Server and cashier and fails at all 3! The food was DISGUSTING and OLD at noon! Only 1/4th of the food bars are used. PSA DO NOT EAT HERE!

Came in around 2:45pm. The person that greeted me was on their phone, sat me at a table, then walked off without taking my drink order. I went to the buffet and it looked like a ransacked clearance area. I sat down with what little food I managed to put on my plate and when I went to try it, it was cold. All of it. Definitely the worst buffet Ive ever been to.

Great service, would be nice to see more selection on the buffet but what is available is always excellent when we visit

Came to pick up food, they said pick up was at 7:00pm, came and they were closed but website says open. Took $60 from us

I love their food but counting on them being open isn’t.. this is the 3rd time of ordering them going to pick it up and they’re closed..

Horrible! Food was not fresh. Was either dried out, stale or mushy. Was also very bland. This restaurant used to be good. We will not go back ever again!

I drive from wichita to eldorado quite often for work and every time for lunch i eat here. There is not a huge selection, only one bar of food but the guy is running it all by himself. He is the kindest most hardworking person I have ever seen in any kind of restaurant. Most people wouldnt be able to run a restaurant all by themselves. This place needs our business. I will always come back. Thank you sir for always providing great customer service and exceptional food!!!

Yes, the buffet has a limited selection due to reduced volume but, they had everything I normally want in a Chinese buffet. The food was very good especially the butter chicken. The price is reasonable. I recommend them. These kinds of places are struggling and need our business.

There needs to be interstate billboards warning the innocent about how bad this place is!ONE person who tries to be cook, cashier and waitress and succeeds in doing nothing that resembles any of those is all you have.At 12:15 pm one third of the buffet was empty. And it tasted like it was left that way from the previous night. What was offered us to eat was below what I would feed to HOGS. And HOGS might not eat it as well!This place needs to be closed as a public service to all who live in Kansas.The one star rating should be in the negatory side of the acceptable, You have been warned.

Had a weird odor in the dining room.I had chicken fried rice however the chicken was soggy with a really weird consistency. I had to pick it all out of my rice. Not sure if I will ever return (I dont live locally)

The owner is very kind and works his butt off to provide for the community! Doing everything by himself Im sure is overwhelming but he never lets it show!

This place at one time was amazing to come to. Came here at 5:30 on a weekday and it was awful. They had one bar of food, very old food. It was either mushy or hard and crusty. I asked for some fried rice and didnt get a response. The lady working was awkward and wasnt helpful. I understand times are hard, but this was completely disappointing. Would not recommend. My boyfriend got very sick not long after. I hope they make it back.

Use to love coning here but the selection is so poor its shocking .was hardly anything to eat. What was available was old food . rice should not be crunchy. No soups no ,no sushi, no ice cream had only 1 bar of hot food. No service had hunt down for a refill .been coming here for years not anymore.

Omg this place is the bomb!!! Super good food and amazing service. The owner is the nicest hardworking guy Ive ever met and his place is fantastic. Refuse to eat anywhere else here in town

Not too many buffet style restaurants open since Covid. The buffet doesnt have a huge selection but enough of the usual to be adequate. Service is excellent. He works his butt off trying to keep up with everything since he is running it by himself. I asked for hot and sour soup [which is excellent] he made fresh just for us. My water glass didnt get filled but not going to complain. I hear enough complaining on the news!

Very little food at the buffet, asked for more, waited 10 mins and nothing. Felt like it was closing time and it was only 12:30pm. We were the only people there, not a very good selection of food for the price...not worth it at all.

The food was not fresh and the place was so muggy and hot. It was really difficult to enjoy our food. I understand that business is probably pretty slow right now, but this just made us not want to return for a long time.

GAB is a pretty good buffet, nice place to eat, lots of different choices! You do have to be careful about the TIME that you go in! It appears (by the condition of the food on the buffet, especially later in the eveningthat they tend to leave stuff out a little longer than they probably should! They DEFINITELY need a new recipe for their HOT AND SOUR SOUP (or put fresh soup out more frequently!The last few times I have been in there, the H & S soup was not very good at all.

Have tried giving this place benefit of the doubt but no matter what time it is the food is always dry and cold, and the new owner is rude to the customers. Don’t recommend this to anyone🤷‍♀️

Adult buffet is $10 a person before the drink. The selection is usually pretty limited especially as far as cooked veggies go. The veggies they did have werent even warm. And crunchy like they hadnt been cooked. Usually this is my go to place since its the only Chinese buffet in El Dorado. This time I left feeling disrespected by the manager. We took one bite of a few different things on our plate before letting them know we hadnt been impressed with any of it and were leaving. The manager wanted to treat us like scammers even though we had only taken three bites before deciding it just wasnt worth the money. The service and the food have both gone down, but the price remains the same. $27 something for two cold, crunchy, adult buffets and one chalky water Pepsi. All I can say is Id pretty much choose anywhere else to take my family at this point.

The food and service was very good except the food could of been hotter!

The food is great I just wish they had a wider selection. The staff were really nice always checking that our experience was great. The pop is crisp and so good here.

Very bad, inexperienced staff. When I was there, a young male waiter had a loud argument over cleaning tables with a man, who I assume is the manager or owner, and our waitress, a young female, openly talked about how “wasteful” our table was to her coworker. Both servers were so bad, inexperienced, that the manager/owner was following up on tables. Food is good and have been coming here since I was a young kid, so that’s the only reason I still gave 3 stars.

The food is very hit and miss. More often than not it is luke warm and dried out. Poor selection and the service has never been prompt. Overall it leaves me disappointed everytime....no more. I will take my business elaewhere.

Not bad , but wish the server would wait until done with the appetizer or soup was done before bringing the main entree...and should ask before refilling drinks and grabbing plates

Most of food was dried out or burnt in the pans. When fresh rice was brought out the dried hard rice was stirred up with the fresh..not good... very limited on foods offered. We do t plan to return anytime soon as the quality and quantity was Very Poor!

I just had the "sunday buffet". If this dried out, 5 pcs of sushi left, absolutely room temp buffet was the "Sunday Buffet" I shudder to think what it is like the rest of the week.The waitstaff was pleasant, but this isnt enough to make me come back

If I could leave zero stars I would, waitress took our drink order and after 10 minutes we had gotten our food and still had no drinks, I had to get up and walk around to find someone to get our drinks...the waitress was at a table on her phone and then said "oh yeah, what were you wanting?" And then they waited to ticket us until 2 minutes after lunch hours were over (we were there 30 minutes before dinner hours startedso I had to pay dinner prices. Food was cold, hard and some not even able to eat. They wont get a dime from my family ever again.

I have been going to this location for years and have always found the food to be delicious and reasonably priced. On occasion if one goes in there between lunch and dinner you will find the trays to be cold so timing is critical for the perfect meal!

My sister introduced me to Golden Asian Buffet after moving to KS from DFW. For a small town buffet, they give the ones in DFW something to learn. The hosts/owners greet you when you come in, make you feel welcome. I have noticed issues with some of the waitstaff. One or two, very attentive; the others talking to each other. The food is very good, and that coconut shrimp? Wow!

We eat there often. We love it. The food is great and the people warm and friendly. The service is great and they have a hibachi for special occasions.I recommend you eat there.Bud Schwindt

Was ok for a quick lunch, reasonably priced. Wait staff was attentive. Place needs desperately updated. Stick with the bottled soda fountain come flat, tried three kinds none were fizzy.

I regularly make trips from out of town to eat here. The dining room is spacious and relaxing. Food is kept out in small quantities and refilled often to keep it fresh. Allergic to MSG? They dont use it. I have been to buffets in other area towns, and none were as good as this. El Dorado is lucky to have it.

Best soups, sushi, and selection in this area. I have been eating here for years and have never been disappointed.

Sushi was so dry the rice felt like it was in cooked, all the food was from an earlier rush and there was nothing fresh except some kind of shrimp which was pretty good. Will definitely not be returning.

Love this place!!! The mushrooms are my favorite thing! The eggdrop soup was the best today!! <3I just discovered their coconut shrimp!!It is different than Ive ever had before. Instead of fried with coconut, it is sauted in a coconut sauce. Much sweeter.

So good!!! Always fresh never dried out or cold, our favorite place for Chinese food!!! We alway leave full and happy. Great service

The food was pretty good. However it needed to be hotter. I guess the buffet temp is not kept hot enough. Also the temperature in the restaurant was not cool. It was 98 outside and you expect to go in and have a cool sit down dinner and not sweat inside. Lastly the server did not come back and check our drinks for refills untill we were finished and she brought the check.

Wow great experience you never know with a buffet but we loved everything! And was constantly fresh! For 4 of us at lunch time it was 37$

Good food. Im not sure if I caught them after a rush, but some of the food could have been refreshed sooner. Other than that it was good.

Oooohhhh. So good the food is fabulous and the staff is stellar. I always walk out with a grin. Plus getting to feed the koifish is about the biggest treat any Chinese food place has done so far! Go feed the fish! Go feed your tummy and put a huge smile on your face.

The price for a buffett is under $10 per person, the food is great, the drinks are good, the atmosphere is cosy, the music is relaxing, the restaurant is big. And the employees didnt mind being barked at by my service dog in training, a 4 month old chihuahua.

Best Chinese in town. Only Chinese buffet in town.Food is always good. Sushi, crab legs on occasions, and dessert. The kids live desserts. Great family atmosphere with several tvs and a koi pond.

Great food. We were there between lunch and dinner and the food was still good. Must try!!

If I could give a 1/2 star I would. The food was awful. It tasted old . The worst meal Ive ever had to pay for.boyfriend got sick after we walked out the Door. I will Never be back to this nasty place. Forewarning. It smells like nasty fish when you walk in the door.Dont wast your time or money going to this place.

Just finished eating there on a Tuesday at 7:05. The older reviews convinced me to try it and I was impressed. Food was very good and value(8.99was also nice. We will be back again. I gave it a five for the value and quality of a small town buffet.

Once again a lovely meal and pleasant staff. I have been coming here for almost 3 years at least 1-2 times a month. They have always been very polite and accomodating. The food is good. I first came here when my wife was in the hospital with my son after birth and they have gotten to know me and my family over the years. Family friendly environment.

Really good if you come during a busy time. If not make sure you use up all the food in the pan, but dont eat it. Theyll quickly bring out fresh stuff and thats what you wanna eat. Fair price and convenient for people in El Dorado.
