GoldBar in New York City

I really wanted to like this place, I came here for a friends party.The decor is very nice and I was hoping this venue would be different then the others that Ive reviewed..unfortunately it seems that some of the popular venues especially in Manhattan dont know how to hire the right managers.To be clear I really never have too many negative reviews with most of the venues that I frequent in Brooklyn..The manager here surprised me in the fact that he was extremely rude and obnoxious in the way he did his job..Ive worked in many clubs in my life and usually all the managers the top clubs would hire had a knack for dealing with the public..After just 1 hour of trying to have a good time here I was just so insulted with some situations I just had to leave, Never to step foot in these portals ever again..The security here were very professional and had no issues there...How this place stayed open this long is beyond me..

Perhaps its necessary to be drunk to find this establishment enjoyable. The bar had no menu but the bartender claimed he could make any drink. I asked for a rum punch and he handed me what could only be described as a snow cone abd then demanded my card to charge $25 for it. It was, without a doubt, the worst drink Ive had in NYC. It was actually laughable. The DJ played a schizophrenic music set, jumping between genres and decades in a way that had no rhyme or reason, which prevented one from ever being able to get into the groove and dance. The only saving grace was that the people were generally cool. But, if the drinks are bad and the music is bad, then the club is....

I love this place. Great vibes. Amazing decor. Cocktails are premium.

Imagine no line at your bar, and turning away a customer who owns multiple bars, with thousands in cash to spend at your place, and tens of thousands in available credit cards. Because you’re door staff is too pretentious.

Gorgeous event space

Racist establishment. Typical prejudice NYC club. My friends invited me to a private event, all black affair, however the non-black women were permitted entry and the black women were denied. Go figure. Spend your money where you are appreciated.

Went here for a corporate function and had a blast. Classy staff and nightclub with the perfect NYC vibe. Competent and respectful security, attentive servers and a great DJ. If you are planning to have a great night out on the town in NYC, be sure to consider GoldBar as one of your stops!

Very rude staff, get inside for 5 min and getting out immediately!! Some people inside, and the guys at the entrance make you feel like you get into a premium club!Just stay away from this place

Absolute trash. This joke of an establishment doesn’t even have a functioning phone number to contact it, nor does anyone bother responding via email to answer inquiries. Don’t waste your time on this unprofessional place.

Literally my favorite bar in NYC! I had a wonderful time celebrating 2020. The staff is always nice and well put together.

I love Goldbar. This is a true locals spot and the staff, venue and crowd are a reflection of the cool diversity of the surrounding neighborhoods and the warmth of the ownership. I never have a bad time here, I never have to deal with sloppy drunks or rude, pushy attitudes, the bar is full but not a wait, the gold skulls really are as cool as they seem, and I love that they play music that isnt top 40. It’s a good mix of crowds, music and energy. Low key, local Bar crowd meets understated model/celebrity crowd without a clash. Definitely an institution.

Terrible. Very rude bouncers. Very rude managers. Not recommended at all. There are way better places to go and have an amazing experience in NYC. Bouncers lie on who they ID & Do not ID. If you look upper echelon you are treated like you are perfection, otherwise they do not want to be affiliated. For such a “high class bar” the bouncers have very ghetto attitudes.

They charge more than they say. I bought one glass of wine and champagne. They told me $35 later I checked they charge $42 . Never go that place again.

The bar is with really nice atmosphere because of the people going there but still they have a lot of work to do. The price is really high for the customer service that you wound receive. The drinks were kinda okey but they need to put a bit more alkohol.

Ok place: has parking nearby but small place packed with dudes. They swarm females like predators haha! I brought 2 girls there. Guys constantly hitting on them and female promoters trying to bring them to guy clients lol. Was funny to watch. We bounced and went to avenue. Need to get more girls here and not the girls that promoters bring that try to bottle rat you either 😂

Had a great time there! Great music! A bit small so its cozy. Deffinitely get a table here so you have somewhere to stand and sit. Recommend coming here.

Would let me in because i didnt have an invite - meanwhile my boyfriend, who is friends with the bartender, was already inside. I couldnt get in touch with him because his phone had died, so the rude doorman told me i was lying and that i wasnt pretty enough to get in.Meanwhile hes letting in hot girls who just walk up, and clearly dont have invites.When my boyfriend left they said "oh yeah i think your girlfriend was here trying to get in LOL sorry" - they knew who I was all along and couldnt be bothered because i didnt have a full face of makeup on.

I come here for Phil. Phil is one of the bouncers and he is so nice. He really makes every patron feel comfortable and welcome. I have been to a lot of NYC bars/ clubs but I keep coming back to Goldbar because of the excellent service

Doorman was rude and racist to our driver! We hailed a cab like a real New Yorker instead of Ubering it and doorman screamed at our driver and told him to leave as while we were getting into the cab and were giving the driver our address. And we just came put of the club after spending a significant amount of money. Its like the doorman thought he owned the street. We were pulled over and not in anyones way while he let Uber drivers pull over and WAIT for fares in front. I cannot be more disgusted by and ashamed of his behavior.

If hookers and blow is your jam, then this is your place! Rude service, far too expensive drinks and bottle service and for what? Sub par looking people for a place the only lets "pretty" people in. Self proclaimed by the way. Pay the money! Blow the lines! At least you know your night will end well, with a hooker!

There are a lot of skulls on the wall, but fear not you are not in an indian jones movie. I dig gold bar, had a stellar party there with stellar drinks. The place is on the smaller side for a venue, but its on the great side for everything you need. Bathrooms are also good, for what it counts. To me? That counts. 4/5. Solid place. Would go back.

Gold Bar is rather cool. Gold is the motif. Surprise surprise. One room has the walls covered with cast human skulls painted gold. I suppose it gets points for trendiness. Its a nightclub. I was there for a party (see Goldfingr in your app store.All in all, I felt at ease there.

Was here for a private event affiliated with a charity. We booked the party two months agoThe management was terrible!! We confirmed the party the day of - however when we showed up they claimed to have overbooked. Our agreement was 2 hour open bar and then bottle service or tab.To make up for the error - Maggie let me know she has "hookups all over Manhattan" and could take care of us a different evening?!They even put us in an uber to another location with the offer of free drinks etc- but that place was terrible. So we just found something else to do.I will say the bartender and doorman LT were great-- but this place doesnt honor its commitments!! Would not recommend for private or corporate events.And honestly - it seemed really pathetic to offer me hookups on another day. I dont need hookups - just wanted what we agreed to.

Even after ten years, Goldbar is still a New York gem. This chic space is filled with beautiful people and gold skulls.

Spent about 700 bucks on bottle service and, after about 2 hours, was told by the manager (blonde femalethat my party would have to give up our table if I didnt buy another bottle. We wound up leaving and I wont ever be back.

Models only crowd. Its loud and the place reeked of weed. Theres a vip room bear the bathrooms with girls giving lap dances. Overall, the place is great for people who think theyre important.

I hear a lot about this place all the time for some reason. Kindda neat decor inside, but "gold" isnt the most appealing for me, so its a bit meh, but this place is called the Goldbar. May be difficult to get in without a good girl-guy ratio unless you want to drop mad cash for a table. Quite a small place for a mid-ranged club/bar, but Ive only been there post 2am, so it was never toooo crowded for me. The bar and drinks are standard. I dont recall fancy cocktails or what not. Great crowd-pleasing music. Goldbar is definitely a place to go if youre looking for a place to dance and got nuts down in LES.

We went there, a club in lower east side. You would have loved it; and then we went to Shorty.

The place itself is pretty cool, its a bar in the front and a nightclub atmosphere in the back room, with booth seating. There is coat check at the front door and a live DJ spinning top 40 songs. Very attractive, model type crowd, but the music will make your ears ring by the end of the night. Good for singles looking to mingle.

A really golden gem hidden in Broome st. The decoration is very chic with beautiful candelabras and golden skulls. The djs play good dance music and the chocolate foundeau is good with marshmallows or fruits. the drinks are good and the people is very cool, kind of after work ambiance.

Soooo much fun. Had the greatest night I could have possibly imagined EXCEPT there was this giant elk out in the back by the bathroom. What was up with that. 1How do you get an elk in the city? 2Why was at this bar? 3How did that elk DJ so well.The cocktails were amazing. Those mixologists really know how to stir up a mean drink. I had the best time though and would definitely recommend this spot for a saturday night.PS. Seriously, though, how did you get that elk in there? and in the city?

One of the most exclusive places in Manhattan, Goldbar is at the top of the nightlife industry. Always come looking your SoHo best for best results.Their rum-based Old Fashioned is definitely my favorite drink. For a true local feel, experience Sunday Funday with some of the best DJs in town.Not for the faint of heart (or tourists).

I have no words other than to say that when you go to Goldbar, you hit Gold! Aside from all the gold around, the level of excellence is golden, the drinks are top quality and the music is awesome. Next tine you spend an evening in Manhattan, make sure to head downtown to the hopping neighborhood of SoHo and stop by Goldbar!

Okay, so while drinks are insanely expensive, I absolutely love the decor. You walk up to the door, its not marked...Rather, there are two large doors with brass knockers on them, a red ropa partition, and a bit of red carpet protruding from the door. The bouncers up-down look you, and let you know quickly whether or not you are dressed well enough to pass through the doors. Upon entering, you pass under gold chain mail, into dimly lit rooms with Gold Sculls lining the walls as if you were in the catacombs. I highly recommend it just for the ambience experience.

Mix and mingle with models and bottles in one of the most out of this world settings. Skulls, seats and chandeliers all dripping in gold! But before you enjoy this over the top bar, you need to get past the doorman - Good luck!
