Wait staff was friendly and prompt. In the end, just good food.

I like the food and the staff and it has an air of a meeting place for friends to get together.

9-26-22 at early morning breakfast hours....whomever prepared the pancakes and omelet this morning did a real bad job!!! To make it exact it was between 7am and 8am, the pancakes were tasteless, fat, dry, what else can I say CARELESS! The omelet was weak, eggs dry, barely any cheese nor other things that are usually added were in the omelet! All I can say is that, when the original cook is absent there is a HUGE difference in the food! I hope this review serves as a good purpose to the Restaurant!

Disgusting. I ordered pickup and they mingled my entire appetizer sampler so the sauce from the wings got on everything. The burger is rubber and it looks like grease leaked on the bun. The fries were icicle cold. I also got charged $3.50 for a foam cup of iced tea. Luckily grub hub refunded my entire order. This place is basically worse than fast food now.

I love this place. The food is always awesome. Their soup is sooo good. And the staff are the nicest in town. Definitely a family place. 10 out of 10 recommend.

My wife and I show up to eat, order a steak dinner with veggies and potatoes. Ive shopping at Aldis for years and recognize canned veggies... Never again. Waukegan has plenty of restaurants serving fresh prepared food. Gojos need to work on quality control.

Food was very delicious. Service was awesome. Prompt, courteous and friendly.The prices were very reasonable. Much less than I expected.I would definitely recommend this Gojos Cafe & Pancakes.Thank you so much for making our stay so much more welcoming and relaxed.

Let me start of by saying the service wasnt to bad but the food was awful! My husband got eggs bacon and a side of gravy and had to drowned everything in hot sauce just so it had some flavor. I ended up not eating anything and only having coffee. Like I said the waitress was good and was very friendly! Just wish it had been better food.

Terrible food. Even worse service. Ham steak looked like a piece of spam, waitress hadnt checked on us for over 30 minutes. First time here will never be back.

Our experience here was not great. Wait about 30 minutes in line to be seated with dining at about 25%. Food was bland and took almost 30 minutes to get out check.The manager was the only one seating guest, while doing multiple other tasks.Suggestion let your servers seat guest in their sections. So that manager can help expedite the pass.

This place is one of my favorite breakfast places, it gots that old school American dinning vibe, the staff is really friendly and the food is delicious, here you can find many dishes for everyone including a kids menu,one of my favorite dishes is the Skirt Steak Skillet and the along with my coffee of course, I think this restaurant is a must in waukegan and hopefully we could have it for many years to come..

Food was okay, some things were missing from my food, otherwise it was a good experience.

This place was better than perfect. My wife and I order was taken from the waitress. She took it from memory. Had our order correct and delivered great service and food.

Great diner, went for breakfast. I like that they give the option to have fresh fruit instead of hash browns as a side.

Nicole is the best server. We come here weekly as a group and were always pleased with the food and the service!

Great menu variety! The best part? I really liked that there was something for everyone. The service is quick too and staff was friendly. We ordered the 2 pancakes with eggs and breakfast burrito. The worst part? Honestly, can’t find anything bad to say. We had a good experience and enjoyed our food very much. Even the prices are pretty good. Paid about $50 for 4 adults.

Always good food since i was little i recommend it if u hungry love it i remember when partys were over going there drunk and eating there plus now days everyone be smoking so if u have the munchies order some food from Gojos

I loved the food but hated my waitress. When she asked questions she answered herself before I could and just ruined the meal for me. Thought this was my new breakfast spot but I guess not.

I havent been here in maybe about 7 or 8yrs...the food has changed drastically. The pancakes were dry where I had to use a lot of syrup. The bacon was fatty and they no longer have the ham on the bone, but what appears to be deli slices.Customer service is still nice even though our waitress forgot my pancakes for about 15mins.

Decent- server could have been better at taking orders and listening. Gave her a significant tip anyway... this time.

I just wanted the say. The food was good. That the owner was awesome. The waitress and the cook were amazing and made me feel like I was home. I had to remind my self I had to go home. I felt so comfortable. I hope you guy see thus review. I wanted to thank you for all your services.

Waitress seemed to favorite other guests that werent a darker skin color. Needed to ask multiple times for things we needed. Food was great though.

Very nice staff and clean area to eat. I love their daily soups and specials. That broasted chicken and potatoes is amazing. We love to dine in and order takeout occasionally. Some new staff are very quiet and shy but it’s nothing that can’t be fixed.

The service was great. The waiter was attentive and friendly. The menu is HUGE. 24 Sections, 184 items, plus various combinations. The food was lackluster. Absolutely no seasoning of any kind, not even salt and pepper. The country fried steak was a chicken patty, not beef. The Broasted chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside...but not a speck of seasoning to be found. The stars are for the service.

First of all. They didnt use ANY salt or pepper on mine or my mothers food (I had a country fried steak with eggs, hashbrowns, and pancakes while she had the "famous" broasted chicken and potatoes). There wasnt even pepper in the gravy yall.Second, a roll should NOT come in plastic packaging.Finally, COUNTRY FRIED STEAK IS NOT A BREADED CHICKEN SANDWICH PATTY.Also, 184 menu items (excluding the substitutions or other changesand 24 differenr sections on the menu?? How do you expect anyone to find anything to eat???At least our waiter was nice. The service was great. The food was awful.

This place was great. The menu is HUGE everyone will fine something they like. But they are known for their Broaster chicken… moist tender and crispy it’s was so dang good I can’t wait to go back.I had mine with a waffle and it was delicious. FYI. I started eating before taking pics

Food is always good the place just needs to be deep cleaned Ive been goin there for years but as an adult with children I have been off put its sticky and the flies and nats is a problem. Most the staff are ok theres a few that are rude and should not work with people and food

Nothing special. Cream of chicken rice soup tasted like burnt flour. Got a hot turkey sandwich with gravy. Same burnt flour hardly any flavor. I do not recommend.

The food was really good. Beef Stew was Amazing. A little pricey for some stuff and the restaurant could have been a little cleaner. Out table was dirty.

So yesterday I went to gojos for the first time with my bf and our experience here was terrible.. the waiter was rude & she didn’t even speak to us when it was time to seat us she didn’t say follow me or nothing she was rushing us to our table which we weren’t seated at yet. The staff kept staring at us & it made us feel very unwelcomed & we both felt racially profiled.The food on the other hand was just okay. After we were done eating the waiter never showed up with our check and she was very rude just rolling her out her eyes at a customer of.color. Me and my bf will never back here was my first and last time here. I don’t. Like the fact that I have a random 3 dollar charge is like someone robbed you but they did t cen tell anyone couldn’t just go here.

Not sure what has happened with the service. My mom and I have been coming here every Saturday or Sunday for breakfast. (Unfortunately, we will not be back!)Last Sunday on 10/3/21 we came and brought a friend. (We raved about how good the breakfast and service wasWe quickly had to retract out excitement. The server was really rude while ordering and did not check on us once. When the food arrived it was cold and slammed down in front of us. We did speak to the manager Helen (she was kind and replaced our food and server. Also waived the bill and apologized. Thank you Helen)This week we returned (me and my mom to continue with our weekly visits)And boom different week same thing the sever did NOT check on us after we ordered for refills, the food was cold. When my mother asked the server After she decided not to eat, why was the food cold. She responded. “ I’m sorry, I should’ve check on you guys to see if everything was okay.” 🤬🤬🤬Again, dissatisfaction of service and food.Now, we have to find a new place. The only reason this place got two stars is because of its cleanliness. The waitress we had seemed short and unwelcoming.My husband ordered the Chorizo omelet, it was burnt. I ordered a bacon cheese burger with fries. The fries were good, the bacon was burnt and hurt my teeth when I bit it. The bread was so hard that I literally "knocked" on it and could hear the noise from my action. My sprite was not good, tasted like something extra was in it.Requested for new burger. Bread came back cool like it was in the fridge and bacon was still burnt and I had less fries the second time around. Burger did not taste good either.Will not be going back.

The waitress was totally out of it. Not sure what was going on but my boyfriend and Is breakfast came out wrong. We had to repeat our orders 2 times to the lady and she still asked questions numerous times passing our table. Food wasnt seasoned either, undercooked. Just wasnt a great time.

Fast and friendly service, our coffee cups were never empty. My wife and I relish going to Gojos for their good food and friendly atmosphere. I wish there were more around the country.

okay so. First. I ordered a roast beef SANDWICH & they literally just put the roast beef on a plate w no bread & then charged extra for a piece of bread. Didn’t even take a bite it looked like dog food. Second , I substituted the fries for a salad & they charged me an extra $6 for 3 pieces of lettuce & one cucumber and half a piece of a tomato. Moral of the story I will not be back

Cozy place and the food was decent. Our waiter was attentive and polite. Could have been cleaner and the video gaming machine noise cheapens the experience. All in all I wish we had went somewhere else.

U get what u pay for, cheap food, affordable but cafeteria like, service is ok.To reply to owner, I understand any place can have good days and bad. Ive been there aprox 5 times, in a 3 month period. We travel a lot do to work and we rely on restaurants like yours for the home cooked meal (feel), the staff are ok, I understand it can get busy, but the coffee is very weak, and the Sunday we went there for brunch the staff was not attentive, she gave us salad with icky stuff In it as if it was pre-used, when we told the young waitress, she had an attitude for having to change it and I believe all she did was change the plate not the salad, it was old. Also the silverware was dirty and we had to request clean ones and the food Jst wasnt what we expected and it took very long for us just to get salt. On the week days, the owner has been there, he is is always polite but the food we ordered was the special of the day which was ribs and chicken and it just tasted old and reheated. I have also called to confirm restaurant times since many restaurants changed times due to covid-19 and lady was abrubt and rude on the phone. So Im sorry if you didnt like my review, but I tried more than once before actually giving a review and none of the times was a good experience. I know you have been open for 40 yrs and this is why we chose to go there cause these kind of restaurants for the most part have been good experiences for us cause they value locals but when Im in the area I definitely dont include you on my favorite list. 😟

I went in on Sunday April 25 with my sister and younger cousin. We sat ourselves. We were helped by a gentleman who worked all morning and it was dinner shift. He made sure we had our soup and always had a smile on his face. He went beyond what was expected to make sure we were taken care of. He knew that I was the one paying the bill and handed it to me without asking. Very perceptive. The man with the amazing smile and blue eyes at the register was very kind. Warmest smile. Overall positive energy, vibe was great and I would definitely go back 🥂😁

Really excellent food, it is my usual go to for breakfast with friends and family. The price for the food is so affordable. You get a lot of food for your money. The waitress is always filling you up on coffee which is great customer service in my book. I always recommend this place to everyone. My favorite is the Mega Breakfast Combo and it fills me up.

Ive always found the food to be good here, depending on what you order. Monday through Wednesday, they have an all you can eat special. The chicken & ribs special on Wed is pretty good. Tuesday is Chicken & shrimp which is also good. Monday is spaghetti and I cant stand the sauce.

Great stuff, better service!Tonight was my first time dining at Gojos Cafe. My gorl and I split an order of chicken and waffles. The food was really solid, and there was alot of it. Salad, bread, crackers, you name it, we ate it!Our server, Eddie, was terrific! Great service! He consistently cared for us, and was a really nice guy through and through. The world needs more people like Eddie.Thanks Eddie :)

Thought I already posted about this fine establishment but will try again. This place is great, really nice menu with lots of choices and very reasonable prices. Service was really good too with nice distance between diners in these trying times. I had the enchiladas meal and it was better than Ive tasted in a lot Mexican restaurants we have eaten at. My daughters had the turkey meal and ceaser salad which they both enjoyed very much.

Great place to eat!!! Family dining, great wait staff. Unlimited coffee :very reasonable prices. Did I mention great wait staff??? Great food breakfast, lunch or dinner. If I ever return to the Chicago area I will definitely make a special trip to eat here
