Global fare & lots of cocktails served in a glitzy, sprawling space with a long, sleek bar.
We went to glowball to enjoy there Thursday night deal on bigger cuts. I was swayed in my decision to take the tomahawk steak. It was delicious and the show was nice but there was no way that was a 56 ounce piece of meat including the bone. We barely had 3 full slices of meat each and we were 3 people eating on it. I understand theres a lot of fat but this piece we had was 40ounces maximum raw. I could tell as Im in the business. Anyways waiter was great and our experience was still a good one however Id pass on this deal and maybe go with the porterhouse
Ambiance is pretty unique and delivers on the luxury experience. When entered, one of the ladies at the front desk took us at the upper floor but later, by our request they have managed space for us at the wonderful floral decorated warm patio. But found the overall sitting arrangement little congested. And that’s why we were warm & cozy by the fireplace & heaters in the patio. However, we had amazing experience. Our main server did a great job, unfortunately forgotten the name of that handsome dude. He was attentive, friendly, humorous & seemed to genuinely strive for guests to have a great experience. Everyone loved their food. Being a very fine dine restaurant, price is on little higher side…
Great restaurant. Loved the ambience and our server was great.Very cool architecture at the entry. Excellent cocktails too!The appetizer portions were generous... some should be shared (brusselsprouts). I had the tuna appy and the fish entree.... very delicious.... oh and I closed with the chocolate lava cake... couldnt help myself!
I had so much fun here on my birthday! Our server David was super attentive and made sure everyone loved their meal. They had a shot cart going around the night of. The shot guy Aidan was also so much fun!! Oh- and amazing food too
A group of three of us went here last night for dinner. We had reservations at 5:30pm. The hostess seated us at one of the tables outside and we asked if we can sit at one of the flower decorated booths as all of them were unoccupied. She said we needed at least 4 guests to sit there and walked away. Another girl came to serve us and I asked again if we can have the floral booth. She said she dont think it should be a problem and she went to ask the hostess again and came back with the answer no. She told us theres people with reservations. I told her that we made reservations as well so she went to ask the hostess again. This time a guy came and said we can sit at the flowered booth. We were there for an hour and a half. There were only 4 people sitting outside, and none of them were sitting at a flowered booth. Obviously, the reservations part is a lie. Dont know why the hostess makes it such a big deal to let customers sit there. Other than that, our server and the rest of the staff were very nice. The food was great. Everything was beautifully presented.
Probably one of the best spaghetti I had in Vancouver, the creamy sauce was so good only that the spaghetti was bit hard.Nice deco and interior, I can tell why its a great photo spot. The cocktail was great, but Im not a big fan ot it signature glowbal cocktail as the lavendar flavour not for me.
I’ll start by saying that they got the theatrical aspect on point. Ambiance is amazing and staff are attentive. Hence why there are so many IG reels that pop up if you are local. The quality of the food is another story. The corn soup was amazing, but that’s where it ends. The wait took about 45 minutes for the main course. Our tomahawk steak was flavourless and the veggies were bland. Quite the shame, I went back in 2018 and I thought to give this another try but that was a mistake. I would not recommend the Thursday special or this restaurant if you thrive on quality of food.
A beautiful place for a luxurious experience! I’ve been already been there thrice and this place & the staff never disappoints. The servers are always friendly & sweet. Though the girls at the front desk were very unwelcoming, this time I went for brunch. Still the vibe of this place is unmatchable.
I really loved the Salmon and Chicken liver. Good vibe and atmosphere. I only wished the heater in the patio wasnt so hot. What made my whole experience great was our server, Veronica (added pic of her name in case I mis-spelt it). She was humorous, and recommended really amazing food! Will visit again!
Been there many times and Glowbal is definitely on the top of my favourite restaurants list. Recently I took my families there for weekend brunch. They offer great menus for every picky foodie. We had a very good time. Planning to bring my friends there next time.
Yesterday we randomly visited Glowbal and it was a NOT TO REPENT visit especially with the cordial service provided by one of their executive Shahed(means honey). She understood our taste and recommended us some dishes and drinks which we enjoyed thoroughly. No doubt it’s on a costlier side but that’s a price you pay to eat in the core Downtown!Would definitely visit again and Shahed..if you are reading this..you are as sweet as your name..way to go 👏
I came in just for a short stop. I had their summer sangria and their bread. The bar is spacious and perfectly comfortable to sot at with padded seat with arm rests. The atmosphere is quite nice: low lighting, ambiance, nice background music. The sangria was so good! It had peach schnapps and was so delicious. The bread was gorgeous visually and a unique but delicious inside. It’s essentially several rolls of dough cooked together not altogether different from the inside of a croissant but more dense. I personally loved it. It came with two different sauces: a flavorful one and a whipped one that was topped with salt.My only critique was far too much salt on the whipped part but overall wonderful.
First time visiting Glowbal and definitely not the last.A divine dining experience! The Fresh Oysters, Dry-Aged Duck Breast and Vegan Panna Cotta were bursting with flavors!!Thank you Mathew for your recommendations and service! 5 Stars
Steak Thursday.Omg was the tomahawk great!Lobster linguini best in area!Sever/manager was excellent, friendly!Great atmosphere.Would definitely go back.
Had such a fantastic celebration here tonight for a special occasion. Our server YK was so attentive, kind, detail-oriented, and helped make the night go so smoothly for all of us! The food was outstanding and the decorative and celebratory environment was so enjoyable. I have come to this restaurant many times and our experience has been consistently positive. Definitely would recommend this place for your most special event!
the vibe and atmosphere is pretty unique and delivers on the luxury experience. Staff are friendly, accommodating and make your experience elevate. The drinks are also tasty we had several types of are their cocktails and they were pretty good. on food however the place is mediocre at best. we tried the salmon and it was no better than eating at a cheaper restaurant except that they sprinkled some decorative sauce on the plate. the appetizers are nothing especial as well 26 bucks for a plate of cheese tomatoes and thin toasts?! not great value.to keep it fair the fried calamari is very good. all in all food has a lot of room for improvement for a return on the high end side.
I had a graduation celebration here at Glowbal, around 20 guests, and the experience was outstanding. Kevin Duperron did an amazing job organizing this event for us, the food was so delicious and the service was great. Our servers, Jericho Kaus and Naomi Chan, were extremely helpful with drink recommendations, they were very fast, and kind to all of our guests. My entire family enjoyed the experience and I would strongly recommend this restaurant/venue for events or for a nice place to dine in. We will definitely be back!
Lesley, our server tonight was very attentive and friendly. Her suggestions where on point and everything we ordered was amazing. The cocktails were fancy and the wagu beef cheeks were melt in your mouth buttery beef goodness.
Risotto was undercooked (some bits of the rice was...hard/gummybut otherwise flavoured well. Oysters were just ok, fishier than Id like but tender. Dessert was great, beautiful plating, would recommend.
The food was delicious. Simple, but tasty and wonderfully plated. The Brussels sprouts were wonderfully seasoned, so was the seafood linguine (I needed a bit more salt, but that is my preference). The lychee panna cotta was subtle and just the right amount of sweetness. Service was friendly and attentive, although I felt that the place was slightly understaffed so some things took longer. Will come back!
I went to celebrate my anniversary which I already mentioned when I did the reservation. On this special occasion I asked if we could get a booth since it was 1:30 on a Friday afternoon and the place was not full, many booths were available. The lady at the counter gave us a table near the entrance of the indoor side where all the servers got food and drinks passing us again and again. I again asked if I could get a booth or a side table as I saw many decent tables were available. She said she will check and let me know. As we were waiting for her response, we order couple of cocktails and a lunch dish called vegan dab bup. She never came and instead gave tables to other new customers. It was so chaotic with all the guests and servers walking pass us, we decided to pay the bill and leave. I have gone to soooo many places to celebrate special occasions and this was the Worst..! Never going back again. Would not recommend this place for the service and the price ..! Not worth it specially on special occasions..
Such a horrendous experience. We were celebrating a birthday and they screwed up in the uttermost way they could. Never had issues with coast or black+blue so not sure why Glowbal has gone down so much?!?!! Burnt brussel sprouts, drink being late over 15 min and coming out not as it was supposed to be, mixing up take out orders and getting food poisoned by the cheesecake pretty much sums up the dining experience. Will not be returning and just a tad bit of advice emailed the corporate office and havent gotten a reply yet. Sums up their service in a nutshell
Amazing experience! Top Notch and worth it! Your server is attentive, you leave feeling well taken cared of. The wine selection is superb. We went for a birthday celebration and the person celebrating was all smiles. Recommend going for a special day or date night.
Came for brunch and got seated in the wonderful floral decorated warm patio. The service was nice and quick. We received complementary mini donuts which was a great delicious surprise! Drinks were good and they had many different options for mimosas. We all ordered the bennys which were good but nothing amazing. If I come back for brunch, I will probably be trying the other options. I would love to come for dinner or brunch again! PS. This is a great option for brunch DT that you can actually book a reservation at.
I was there for Mothers day, May 8th 2022 it was a buffets day, $75.00 per person excellent price. Customer service unbelievable, I like it so much that I always go back on especial occasions. Thank you to all staff for a great job.
Beautiful place I loved it! Perfect instagram photo hot spot, definitely want to come back. 💕 loved the mini donuts and yogurt drink, not too special for the eggs benedict tho.
The service was great but the brunch was ok.I would like my egg muffin to be less tossed unfortunately it was almost burnt.I loved the atmosphere and the staff.I will be back to try the dinner menu.
I heard great things about Glowbal from my coworkers and decided to make a quick visit during there happy hour special. My bartender named YK was very friendly and explained the menu to me and provided great service.I decided to order the oyster special and a few of their signature drinks as he recommended. The Oyster were great and the drinks were amazing to look at while tasting great.I will recommend this place to anyone who wants a classy establishment for dining in downtown Vancouver. I will definitely visit again.
Excellent service! Food was good as well, but the beef tartare and the truffle spaghetti were not as flavourful as I’d prefer. Also the toasts had too much of the burnt charcoal taste. Overall was still a good fine dining experience.
I was really looking forward to go to Glowbal as this place seem to be really popular on social medias. Then we went at the end of the happy hour which finishes at 5:30. My friend’s drink was super sweet and the calamari seem to be old. The manager, a middle age guy with short hair gives off weird vibes when we asking if we can move to a indoor table and he looks bothered by that request. The risotto was really salty. The popular drink Empress tasted like chemical which is not surprising as they used soap to create the bubble. Well, it’s a nice photo for Instagram but the taste is bad. If you pay $18 for a cocktail I would except the taste would be good. I mean, the food is okay just not a pleasant experience dining there.
Probably the best dinner I ever had in 4 years thanks to our amazing server Nissa and the manager Alex. They made my dinner with my friend so special tonight. I haven’t seen my friend for so long and we let them know it’s a special night and they decorated in advance our table with beautiful roses.we felt so special!!!!Also the food was amazing.Everything was just above and beyond.Nothing could be better than this. Thanks Nissa and Alex again and I will definitely come back!!!
Update - So we had the opportunity to redo our evening at Glowbal & omgoodness, it was absolutely amazing! From start to finish, everything was superb. I cant say enough about the service, the food & the ambiance. Everything was just perfect. Initially I thought we were getting special treatment because of our previous experience, but looking around at other tables I realized thats just how they do things here. They make their guests feel really welcome. Clearly our first experience was the exception, not the norm.If you have a chance please give them a try, you wont be disappointed. If you have the chance to try their tasting menu (limited offeryoull be in for a real treat.Thank you Alex, Natalia, Alex & the rest of the Glowbal crew. We had a memorable evening (this time for all the right reasons& we look forward to returning.@inspiringfoodieIf I could describe our dinner here in 3 word it would be COMEDY OF ERRORS.We started off our night on their heated patio, which on most nights probably would have been fine, but being that we were experiencing below freezing level temps not even the heaters could save us, so after we ordered our drinks we asked if we could be seated inside to which they graciously obliged. After we were seated inside, our new server approached us, introduced himself & asked if we wanted to start off with drinks. We had to inform him that we had already ordered (apparently although we were moved no one brought our new server up to speed). We get our drinks but werent asked if we wanted to order dinner. Eventually after being there for about an hour we were finally asked if we wanted to order. Yes please! We placed our orders but I was sure he didnt hear us correctly & sure enough, while we were waiting for our order I asked him to confirm & he repeated back to us incorrectly, but we got it sorted out...until the food came. Some in our party received appies, some received entrees. So I asked about our appies. The gentleman said he would check. Turns out our order was placed with a serve all together note so we were going to get all our food at once. They came back mentioned the error & said theyll fire up new entrees when we were ready. Fast forward to entrees time. We receive two of our entrees & then we wait. When the server checks in on us we say were just waiting on the two spaghettis. To which he replies they each ordered one? I thought they were sharing & runs off. A few minutes later two spaghettis show up. By this time its after 8pm, our dinner started at 6:15pm. My partner & I dug into our meals only to find out they were cold. So much for refiring them when we were ready. It tasted like they left it under the warmer. At this point, we said forget it were starving lets just get through this. After our entrees, I guess Im a sucker for punishment, we decided to have dessert. Ordered coffee & dessert & our coffee arrived....dessert? Well, we waited & waited....finally we asked someone about it. They said they would check & our server returned saying the manager didnt know if it had cashews in it (an allergy I mentioned earlier). So apparently not one person in that restaurant knows what ingredients are used in their dishes....he asked if we wanted to order something else. At that point after being there for almost 3 hours we politely declined & asked for the bill.Overall our server was very friendly, just not good at his job. The appetizers were amazing, so much so I might risk going back again just for them. The entrees were flavourful & well seasoned albeit cold. Its a beautiful restaurant, they just need to focus a little more on the finer points, okay maybe a lot more on the finer points.@inspiringfoodie
Took my wife for celebration dinner to Glowbal on Saturday March 26th. First impression was wow. Restaurant was large, 2 levels and full. So it was loud but bright and open.Staff was friendly including management when they were helping us with wine selection. Thanks Kevin for your time.We started with some feature cocktails and tried their Empress Martini. They added a bubble on top, see pictures. Also tried the Illusionist and Glowbal Pick Me Up. Their coffee drink . Cocktails were all great and unique!Food was amazing! Great presentation and taste. We ordered their Wagyu Steak, not on the menu and their feature Halibut. Our date night at Glowbal was memorable. Well definitely be back.Definite place to check out and dont forget to order their feature cocktails. You wont be disappointed!
I had so much fun celebrating womens day at Glowbal. We had a three course meal with choice of vegetarian option, beef and chicken option and a chocolate desert. Wines, cocktails and Mocktails with a great ambiance. Enjoyed my night with a group of lovely women in amazing Vancouver downtown.
Compliments to the warmest hostess at the front door Soy! Had a wonderful time with the service we received from Soy this evening! It was my first time there to celebrate my friends farewell and she not only warmly greeted us at the door but also recommended the food from the menu and all tasted super good! She kindly asked how the food was and everything went well when we were about to leave the restaurant!I think well be back just because of Soy! Thank you so much!감사합니다 또 올게요 이쁜 소이씨~~
Came during happy hour. The “KFC” is way too saucy and can’t really taste the chicken… would not order it again. But overall the food is decent for happy hour share plates, and the prices are fair too. Nice place to grab a drink after some shopping!
Had a lovely time during my birthday! Our server was Cecilia and she made my night extra special! The food was great and the service was amazing. 10/10 would recommend.
First time here to try the Happy Hour. I tried the Brussel sprouts, meatballs and macaroni and cheese sticks, they were all delicious and portions were big. Great wine and ambiance. I will come back very soon
Tuna were very fresh. Melts in my mouth. Duck breast was cooked nicely. The root vegetables were made just to my likings, very crunchy. Cheesecake has a very nice balance of salty from the caramel, sweet from the cheesecake itself and sour from raspberry. Environment is comfortable
The serve was amazing!! My friends and I had so much fun thanks to our server, Guillermo! He was so sweet and gave us the best service ever. Our drinks were also amazing - thank you to Brayden at the bar!! We had the best girls night ever so if you come to visit Glowbal, make sure to ask for these guys because you’ll be certain to have an awesome night :)
We started with the Freshly Shucked West Coast Oysters, Crispy Brussels Sprouts and Veal Sweetbreads. It was my first time trying oysters, so I guess theywere cool.. but I probably wouldn’t spend my money on them again. I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the brussels sprouts were! The veal sweetbread was such a wonderful combination of flavours and textures. I loved the roasted chick peas with the cashews. For entrees we ordered the Truffled Spaghetti & Signature Meat Balls and the Braised Wagyu Beef Cheeks with Charred Broccolini. I really enjoyed the tomato sauce on the spaghetti, great reduced wine flavour. The meatballs could have definitely been better though, I didn’t really get a beef flavour at all. The beef cheeks on the other hand were phenomenal! I’ve never had such tender meat in my life! The jus and shingo pear on top was a great touch. But personally, I was not a fan of the potato purée. I love me some broccolini and I’m happy to say they didn’t disappoint. They have very lovely bar with an excellent selection of wines, spirits and cocktails. I ordered one of their speciality cocktails called the Empress Martini! Super cool experience for a super floral drink. The service was pretty good, our server was really able to make conversation. But I will say that I do believe this place is a bit over priced. I guess they are charging for the aesthetic haha.Honestly, if you are trying to “rome with Romans” here in Vancouver, this might just be your spot.. or even if you just want a bougie experience and Instagram picture to match!
A bit of a showy restaurant with cocktail menu items named for their various restaurants but surprisingly good food.Kind of weird how the Brussels sprouts were on their appetizer menu instead of sides but it was good. The Sablefish with orecchiette pasta had a great contrasting texture with the crunchy dashi-braised winter greens and sliced almonds. Meanwhile, the beef cheeks were super fork tender.
Everything is always amazing here. Our server Glen was very attentive and friendly. The food never disappoints and the dessert was so good. My favourite was the crispy Brussels sprouts and the potato crusted halibut.
Had a great dinner for my birthday! Our server Carly was very attentive and sweet, and most importantly every dish was delicious even though the menu was not extensive.Really liked the crispy Brussels sprouts and lamb ragu strozzapreti. And my partner could not stop talking about their crispy half chicken the next day after the dinner. Signature meatballs spaghettis was okay, not as good in comparison with other dishes.Cocktails were beautiful and strong, and the staff always patiently wait for you to take videos/photos for the drinks and foods.Service was quick and timed very well. Environment was romantic and Instagram worthy. Would recommend it to friends for a date.
Shared some dishes from their happy hour menu - Humboldt Calamari, Truffle Parmesan Fries, Fried Macaroni & Cheese, Lacinato Kale Salad, and Beef Meatballs. Everything was beautifully presented, and being able to try them all allowed tasting of varied textures and flavors. In particular, the mac and cheese was innovative, loved the savoury item within the fried exterior. This place was packed for happy hour and what I imagine is a popular choice for both lunch and dinner. Lots of seating inside and a covered outdoor patio. First time here and it didnt disappoint!
I came here on a Monday and wow was it ever chaotic. We had a bumpy start.. our table was extremely wobbly as if there was a constant earthquake so after settling in we had to pack up and move tables, our waitress was extremely slow.. our oysters also took ages… (more than 30 minuteswe were unimpressed however, management eventually took notice and offered delicious Prosecco on the house finishing up with free dessert as well. The great customer service saved the night because no one’s likes to be moving around from table to table and waiting ages for service. Thank you for taking care of us. Ended up being a great evening.
We were here a couple weeks ago for a birthday dinner. We had amazing service! I’ve unfortunately forgotten her name, but our main server did a great job. Everyone loved their food, with the exception of the risotto. It was a little undercooked. Definitely recommend trying their “The Executives” cocktails.
It was me & my husband’s first time at Glowbal today, which happened to also be their Brunch with Santa day. Our server Emma was AMAZING: attentive, friendly, & seemed to genuinely strive for guests to have a great experience. The hostesses who met us at the door were friendly too, & the other servers too AND they were attentive as well to other guests. The meal course was yummy & filling, & was great for my vegan husband. The decor made the experience festively frosty just like winter, except we were warm & cozy by the fireplace & the many heaters. Highly recommend checking them out with their holiday brunch menu for a festively fun foodie experience.
Cute cocktails, great atmosphere and ambiance. Service was good! The lamb ragu was cooked well but a little too salty. Very happy with the melon cocktail and the empress martini is a must try for the smokey bubble effects. If you like a sweet drink, I’d recommend the melon over the empress.
What an experience. We were warmly received by Kevin whom was super accommodating. Brian our Waiter made fantastic selections and all the food was delicious. We tried most of their appetizers and a good portion of their entrées. Their cocktails both alcoholic and virgin tasted exquisite. Glad to have been Ali runs a tight ship. If youre looking for a good experience with stellar visuals (try the cocktailscome here.
