Classic American bistro & bar fare with an extensive beer menu in a rustic space with exposed brick.
Amazing food options and beer options as well. Friendly staff and cool atmosphere.
We got a quick bite each and one cocktail. French Onion soup($12), Mac & Cheese($13), and the Spicy Ranch Water($10). Worth every penny. It was all delicious and prepared perfectly. So glad we stopped by on our walk down Chestnut Street. Yum!
Google didnt tell us 2nd Story was closed but we were more than happy to find this place!
HUGE SHOUT OUT!! My daughters wedding rehearsal gathering was held at Glory!! What an amazing venue it was!! She had approximately 40-50 guests in their upstairs renovated space…drinks were flowing and food was delicious!! The owner and the bartenders made sure everything was exactly as my daughter requested!! Beautiful location… in the heart of Olde City!!
The food here is really good. We especially enjoyed the octopus salad. We had it along with cevichi and macaroni and cheese. My wife and I were very stuffed. The beer list is impressive, lots of beers that were new to me. I enjoyed the Bitburger pilsner. Service matched the quality of the fiod. Altogether its a great place.
Excellent experience at Glory Bar. The beer selection was interesting, the staff knowledgeable and the food was surprisingly great! Thanks to Max for being attentive and friendly and providing a great dining experience.
Solid selection of beers and really great food. But even better was the service. Despite sitting outdoors we were never lacking for attention. Ill definitely return!
Outstanding food and service. Best meal we had while visiting Philadelphia.
I was pleasantly surprised by the food here. Came in expecting the standard pub grub you would find at most places like this, but my family and I were blown away. The burgers and sandwiches we ordered were fantastic, honestly some of the best food Ive had while in Philly.
Good food. Huge selection of beers. Noise volume was extremely high though on a Saturday night 😆
Cant say enough good things about this place. I came in after work with no intentions of eating. After looking at their incredible beer list the octopus app caught my attention. Its one of my favorite things to eat especially when its cooked right. Not only was it cooked perfectly, but each part of the dish served a purpose and it was delicious. I wanted to try something else so I got the house made pastrami sandwich with sunchoke slaw. Im not even sure how to express how delicious this was especially since I wasnt even hungry. I had half there, and before I got back to the hotel I stopped and ate the other half. The staff and service was also excellent. This place does it right
Awesome apps. Solid entrees and service. Nice selection of beverages and beer.
The food was good but they have a very limited menu. Check the menu online before you go. The beer menu has many options but youre going to pay a premium for them unless youre ordering the City Wide (CW was $6). The cheapest bottled beer I saw was $12. One was $55. I did get a draft for $7. The City Wide randomly offers a cube of Swiss Cheese. I acknowledge this is weird but also thought, "well this is unique." Ours was served without it and when I asked about it was told, "its kinda a joke." Our server "Melissa O" seemed less than interested in serving us. Again, the food was good but I definitely wouldnt rush back there.
Was there for a wedding so was closed to outsiders. Considering the layout was a bit awkward for having tables and chairs for 100, the drinks were good and the food was delivered buffet style throughout the evening. Seemed like a nice venue and would consider coming back sometime to see how things normally function.
EVENT REVIEW:I helped plan my two friend’s wedding on May 28th for approx 100 people. We started to plan with Dave, the owner, back in 2019 (pre covid days!). When the wedding planning was put on hold, Dave was nothing but flexible. 3 years later and we had the best night! From the quickly-put-together ceremony to all the delicious food, everything was perfect. Service was fast and attentive and the atmosphere is beautiful. Perfect for any reception, work happy hour, bridal shower, etc. They even just added a second floor which will be perfect for any private events.Book your event with Glory… you won’t regret it!
I was in Philly for a wedding and stopped in for drinks and dinner. More than adequate draft menu with knowledgeable staff. Had the pork belly sandwich and it was quite good. I brought my friends back the next day and they all enjoyed it.
Friendly staff, good location. I like that they play records and have local sports games on.
I dont even like beer and Im giving this place 5 stars - even the food was amazing. You would never expect food in a pub to have so much flavour! The beer selection was HUGE, so even a non-beer drinking can find a beer they like :)
Great beer selection and nice wings and burgers!
Great service. Nice atmosphere. Nice beer selection. Cocktails were skillfully crafted. Food was top notch. Plus they have the beer and shot City Special.
Good place to have a drink with some friends but the food is nothing special. Atmosphere is nice for a big group thats just getting appetizers.
This place is one of my favorites, I go almost once a week for the amazing rotating beer selection and food, mostly get the burger and Mac and cheese but the other options are just as good. The staff is always friendly and they make great recommendations! Thank you
An amazing beer selection (and cocktails if that’s what you’re in the mood for). The food is delicious. Probably the best french fries I have ever had.
Great service and food. Went here with the in laws. I highly recommend the chicken sandwich and Mac&cheese. The lemon cake dessert was delicious. Huge drink menu. Great list of draft beer.
We had a great time at Glory with our friends this past weekend. The beer selection was great, and the chicken sandwich was the BEST chicken sandwich Ive ever had! It was sooo flavorful and juicy. Were looking forward to going again.
My boyfriend and I came across this restaurant after his appointment at the passport agency. We were seated quickly, and the food was BOMB!! We ordered the wings and macaroni and cheese. THE FOOD AND DRINKS WERE AMAZING and so was our waiter. I will definitely come back here when in philly.
The beer selection is fantastic. Local craft beers as well as foreign beers. We didnt eat here, but we drank well. Im into the music being played from the old vinyl albums.
Food is amazing, seriously! Drinks are awesome! And Chris the bartender is killin it! We’ll definitely be back on our next trip out to Philly.
Great place to go with a big small or big groups. The service here is amazing and I loved the bartenders that took care of my group. They were very nice and served us quickly. Their kitchen was closed when I last visited but Ive been told by many of my friends they have a good selection of food and drinks. I would definitely recommend if youre in the area.
We had a very large group of soccer players and parents. They were able to accommodate our group. The service was great. Very organized and not a singletree order was wrong. The food was was great. I had a cashew, feta, watermelon, tomato, salad with french onion soup. It was very good. The selection of beers was incredible. Definitely would go back.
Great beers on tap, as well as can/bottle selection. The Mac and cheese and wings are also amazing. I was out visiting from Los Angeles and they really showed me Philly love. One of the employees over heard that I was visiting and he came over with a can of beer to share with us being that he had recently moved back to Philly from Los Angeles after living out there for 18. I love visiting Philly and this is the kind of hospitality that always has me going back, thank you guys.
They have indoor and outdoor seating available. The service was great and the food, fantastic! Their thai chili lime wings were on point! So much beer to choose from and the Titos and pineapple that I drank was refreshing! I would recommend this spot and definitely going back to try the chicken sandwich.
Wasnt too busy when we came at 730pm Friday. All the house made sauces and food was great! Wasnt sure how Id feel about all the pickled fruits and veggies but was surprisingly delightful! Food made me full and for a good price.
Great spot in an overlooked part of old city. Inside has a nice rustic charm. While it is not a sports bar, sports fans should know there are TVs about and a projector in the back part of the dining area - great to watch the sixers beat the Wizards in game 3. Also, this place is pretty unique in that they play vinyl records, from beginning to end. Dont try and bring yours though. It can get a little noisy at peak hours, But what else would you expect? Now, for what everyone really cares about:Beers - great selection of over 30(?different kinds on draught. Unique things. This isnt your cookie cutter draught list. A cursory review of the list will tell you a lot of time went into putting it together. If youre a connoisseur, youll appreciate this. One of the best selections in the area.Food - elevated bar fare - Kitchen is above expectations. Wow. Wings are great. Sandwiches are good too.. Porcetta, kielbasa... Also, try the Mac n cheese. Generous portions too.Dave took care of us and is a gracious bartender and owner. Many thanks, will be back again soon
Nice little bar, actually had chicken wings just to see how they were, Im from Buffalo. Wings were good, unusual that they only offered one variety, large and well cooked. I enjoyed the atmosphere and ambience while talking to Troy Shea, a patron who happened to have done the lighting on the the Row Houses. I will definitely go back next time Im in Philly.
Food was great, especially the spicy falafel. Interesting mix of carrots with the lamb sausage. Beers were very solid. Plenty of unique ones that are hard to find elsewhere. Servers were all very pleasant.
Ok. If you’re looking for a great local spot with an amazing beer list this is it. ALSO their food is incredible so it’s a win win. Legit just had the best shrimp scampi (a specialor my life. Further evidence that whatever glory puts on their menu is a home run. If you’re in old city stop in - if you’re not: it’s worth the trip.
Went in on a Saturday during the lunch hour. Its a nice space. Feels very warm and inviting on the inside. Way bigger than I expected for downtown Philadelphia, and it was pretty empty when we got there. There was only one guy working that early, but he was attentive and quick. Got us seated and took our order. We grabbed a couple of beers. I had a nice Imperial Porter and they had an interesting Mexican style beer as well. The food is good, not great, but it hit the spot. They had a special on some tacos, and they were very good. A mix of pulled chicken and pork belly. The chicken was better than the pork. It started to pick up a little as we were leaving, and Im assuming it gets significantly more busy during prime drinking hours. They have outdoor seating, but its on the sidewalk, so youll have folks walking through your space all night long, as its a busy pedestrian area.
Had a great experience here for dinner. The employees were attentive and knowledgeable, and did a great job of making us feel welcomed and at home in their establishment. There are a wide selection of beers and other drinks to choose from with a wide range of prices to suit any budget, as well as reasonably priced food items that fit the typical bar food menu style. The aesthetics of the bar are cozy and chill, and I would highly recommend coming here for a relaxed evening of food and drinks.
My 2nd time at this bar, both equally great. Extensive beer menu and cozy ambiance. The music comes from their record collection which is a nice touch!
Outstanding beer list, great food options, and great service. What more can you ask for?
Glory is a really nice place. The atmosphere was nice, staff was super friendly and helpful, and the beer list is HUGE. So many beers to pick from, but Im not a beer drinker. I prefer ciders and fruity drinks, which there were none of, but thats not really on them, thats just what I drink. My friends and I got food and it was just perfect.I wish they had some fruity drinks or ciders to go with all the beers on offer, but other than that it was a perfect place to stop for dinner. Highly recommend!
Somewhere between a 2 or 3 stars. Beer selection was very good and the bartender knew his stuff. The mac and cheese with bacon was very cheesy and delicious. Service was extremely poor though. There were people sitting at the bar that seemed to get served fine. The two or three tables that were there appeared to be a bother though and forgotten often. Felt like a burden to the staff
The bartenders are knowledgeable and super chill. Great selection of beers and ciders. Really good food, great space and location. This will definitely be a regular hangout spot.
Great beer selection, didn’t get to try the food yet but place is large and good for happy hour
Super friendly & happy staff. Best mac & cheese Ive ever had in my life, no exaggeration. Farmers pot pie was comforting & fresh. Very fairly priced, which everyone can appreciate. I will definitely be coming back here
Really love this place. I waited to review until I had a chance to try everything on the menu. There isnt a single thing that isnt worth getting, from the very accessible sliders to the porchetta sandwich. The beer selection covers just about anyones tastes, and the staff select and play vinyl the whole time theyre open. Cant recommend Glory enough!
I stopped in here one Saturday afternoon for a late lunch after watching a movie at the Ritz. They have a pretty good selection of beer and a decent sub section of Belgian beer. I also ordered a prime rib sandwich which was pretty decent. Service was excellent and the staff were quite knowledgeable about the beers they served.
Rustic beer bar with many kinds of different draft & bottled beers (craft, local, national). You even get small tasting glasses for tasting the many different delicious beers. We just walked in to enjoy some tasty beers, but the food which has been served to other guests looked awesome and delicious, too.
Ive been here twice since they opened and I love this place. First off, the owner, Dave, is super cool and a certified beer genius, so absolutely pick his brain before you just order the same beer you always get. Glorys beer selection is massive and unique, so youre sure to find a new favorite brew. The food here is outstanding. The menu is short yet refined, especially for bar food. The porchetta is perfectly done with a crispy outside and tender inside, and the octopus salad is unreal! The desserts are also a slam dunk - the old fashioned apple tart is so satisfying and the chocolate cake will leave you wanting more. Also, a very cool, new, open space which is great for bringing a group. They have communal and small tables.Overall, totally worth a visit!
