Latin Patriarchate St 33, Jerusalem, Jerusalem
This laid-back hotel in a stone building is a 3-minute walk from a local history museum in the Tower of David, and a 13-minute walk from both the Western Wall and Dome of the Rock.Unassuming rooms with dark wood furnishings offer complimentary Wi-Fi, satellite TV and minifridges, as well as safes, and tea and coffeemaking facilities.Breakfast is complimentary. An old-world restaurant/bar features vaulted ceilings and exposed-stone walls. There are meeting rooms. Parking is available.
This hotel is very comfortable. The service is very good. The food is wonderful. I cannot say enough about Gloria.
Nice, cozy, good value for money
Such a lucky find! Amazing hotel with helpful and hospitable staff in a hard-to-beat location.
A great location in old Jerusalem. The staff is friendly.clean room. They serve taste breakfast 😋
Visiting Jerusalem was a life’s dream and staying at the Gloria Hotel made my recent stay more complete. Excellent service, beautiful and clean premises. I would highly recommend it for either short or long stay.
Since visiting for the first time 4 years ago, the hotel has made SEVERAL updates, including the expansion of the annex. The hotel has beautiful architecture, a lovely restaurant scene, waiters/waitresses that do an excellent job, great food & variety, and an English speaking staff. One bad part of the hotel is that is is constantly noisy & the cleaning staff knocks and enters immediately at 7:30 without giving time for a response; hence, the four star review.
This hotel is just what we needed for our stay in old Jerusalem until our small Bible study begins. The breakfast is included and a perfect way to start our day. A/C is refreshing after a hot summer day. Highly recommend!!
Great location and services 😌
You cant beat the location, right inside the old city of Jerusalem. If youre looking for a place to stay where you can reach a lot of roadable locations and old Jerusalem, the Glory hotel is where you should go. The food is really good, the only difficulty is the Wi-Fi.
Friendly and good location inside Jerusalem Old City
They serve breakfast and supper from their own kitchen. Food quality, taste, and quantity exceed expectations. I would recommend this motel to anyone traveling to Jerusalem.
If you want to be in the old city of Jerusalem, this is the best hotel.
Very nice hotel inside the old city. The buffet in the morning and the dinner was a little poor.
Nice place, though the room had no air conditioning.
Enjoyed staying here. Clean rooms and very hospitable service.
A great location. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The food is good. The room is clean and functional and the shower is wonderful. Highly recommend this hotel when visiting Jerusalem.
A lovely hotel. Very friendly staff. Fascinating setting in Jerusalem
Its right in the heart of everything and you can walk practically everywhere from this location and if you feel like going further you have the light rail and that can take you to the bus station to go to tel aviv or other main cities inside Israel. The staff are lovely and its just a really beautiful historic building.
Location, location, location. Definitely expensive side for what you get. Basic, smallish room, with basic amenities, in a moderately quiet atmosphere. Nice mellow bar hangout area. Restaurant was under construction so the breakfast was super basic dinning hall. Like I said, its all about the location and this is just inside Jaffa Gate. Perfect for exploring old city and outside the walls as well.
The hotel is ideally located in Old Jerusalem, so you can walk easily to all the main attractions in the Old City. The building is lovely and the people at the reception very nice. The bedroom, not very big, was comfortable enough, including the beds, even if the furniture was not very modern. Absolutely appreciable the fact that the hotel offers free parking: this was an excellent bonus for us, as we were travelling with a rented car. What I would improve is certainly the breakfast: I understand that the hotel works mainly with groups, but the quality of the breakfast was not up to the expectations, considering the price paid for the accommodation. The personnel in the breakfast room was not very friendly: zero smiles.
Very expensive, small rooms with unbearable smell from the cleaning products and mediocer food.
Caters to Hordes of Tour GroupsMost any of the hotels within the walls of Old Jerusalem will focus on tour groups, I suppose, so be prepared for large groups, particularly at breakfast. The Gloria Hotel is adequate, but could use some updating in its furniture, bathroom, breakfast room, and wi-fi technology.Given the number of tourists that they have to deal with, the staff are probably overwhelmed and weary of dealing with the public, which means that many of the staff members can sometimes be a bit distant and abrupt.LocationThe Gloria Hotel has a prime location just a couple of blocks inside the Jaffa Gate, on a side street, which, fortunately, minimizes noise from the busy main street.LobbyWhile the check-in desk area can best be described as functional, it’s not particularly welcoming. However, just off to the side, there is a lovely bar and lounge area – a great place to have a refreshing beverage after a day of touring Old Jerusalem.RoomsBuilt in a large square layout, each floor has lots of rooms, so if mobility is an issue for you, request a room near the elevators. The rooms themselves are functional, but not particularly attractive and in vast need of updating. We could hear guests’ conversations or television programs in the adjoining rooms, so there is little soundproofing between rooms. The bed was reasonably comfortable, and there was an electrical outlet conveniently located at each bedside table. Nonetheless, we were glad we had packed mini-multi-outlet extension cords in order to power multiple electronic devices. There is a small desk, and its surface area is crowded with the telephone, television remote, coffee service items, and a lamp. Consequently, we had to squeeze most of these items in the corner of the desk in order to have working space for a computer or writing. The other guest had to use the guest chair and lean over to use the bed as a working space for a computer. There were two pieces of luggage-rack furniture, which helped with handling luggage and providing storage for both of us.Complimentary instant coffee and tea were provided, but no water was provided for guests. There are small grocery stores and tourist shops nearby that sell water, so you’ll have to stock up at those outlets (at somewhat inflated tourist prices).BathroomThe bathroom was small, but there was a ledge above the toilet where we could put our personal toiletry kits. The shower size was standard, but the water temperature could vary greatly, particularly when most guests were getting ready in the morning, creating a large demand on the hot water supply.Wi-FiDespite the walls between the guest rooms being rather thin, the hotel building had thick walls and floors, which interfered with the wi-fi signal. At peak times when a large number of guests were trying to access wi-fi, the signal would drop completely or be painfully slow, to the point of being unusable. The hotel needs to install stronger wi-fi booster throughout the hotel.DiningThere is a somewhat large breakfast room on the top floor. Given the large numbers of tour groups, the breakfast room is nearly always crowded and very noisy. Given that Old Jerusalem is a must-see for Christian Holy Land groups, there were frequently pastors who were practically delivering loud sermons to their groups. As individuals who were staying at the hotel, we were amused to hear and watch the conflicting interpretations of the Christian testament. As for the food, well, it was just best to stick with fruit, yogurt, and bread since most of the other dishes were gloppy and flavorless.OverallI would have rather stayed elsewhere with more up-to-date facilities, but that would have meant staying outside of the walled city of Old Jerusalem, where most of the tourist and religious sites are located. So, for a couple of days, I would tolerate the quirks of the Gloria Hotel if I were in Jerusalem again.
Its perfect location both for Cristians that want to be close by the Holy Sepulchre & the other churches, and for any tourist who appreciates good location, good views & good food more than room facilities.
Great hotel, friendly staff, great service, clean rooms, delicious food.
Older hotel close to religious sites. Large clean rooms.
Great hotel, very friendly staff, and great food. Inside the old city, a great place to begin the tour of the old city. A couple of blocks from the light rail station. We spent 5 nights there.
Nice hotel, in the heart of the old city in Jerusalen, vert well located, nice rooms goos breakfast.
The location of the Gloria hotel cant be beat, just seconds away from Jaffa Gate and a fantastic base from which to explore the Old City. Its an older hotel but the room we stayed in had been recently renovated - the bed was incredibly comfy, the shower had great pressure and hot water, and the heating was very much welcome in early January! If youre a light sleeper the bed might not make up for the really light curtains and the general noisiness - there was a strong buzzing from the electrical units and from 7am every morning construction work going on nearby woke us up (better than any alarm!). Only other gripe was the towels, as they were very small and thin, which was a shame after enjoying the luxurious hot shower.Breakfast is included and while not very interesting it covers the basics and is open 6:30-10:30 (and later on the weekends). Staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend as long as youre looking to explore the Old City bright and early!
Very clean hotel with polite staff . Excellent location near church Sepulchre , David tower , Western Wall , Dome of the Rock and Alaqsa mosque with couple of minutes walking distance from all these mentioned holy sites . They offer delicious breakfast with many varieties. The rooms are modern and newly upgraded .
Love this hotel ..I have stayed here 4 diff. times.
The staff was very friendly, and the restaurant is great. Its definitely an older hotel, but its still a great one. Its located right at Jaffa gate, and has wonderful access to the old city.
An excellent hotel for its historical location and the staff were very attentive and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Breakfast and dinner were a treat.
Excellent place to stay for a tour of Israel - friendly staff and very relational
Best location in the city of Jerusalem, very safe for travelers, within walking distance to all the holy sites and centrally located between the Arab and Israeli sections, clean rooms, professional service, and reasonably priced. The food is good, and Caroline makes the best cappuccinos, and most importantly, the owners are always on site, are very pleasant, and very easy to talk to.Sam Macbale
Situated just inside the wall of Jerusalem A very comfortable stay. Staff friendly and helpful even in emergency situation. Food good and tasty and choice all served as a buffet style
The Gloria sits in a great spot right inside the Old City by Jaffa Gate. They offer meals in the hotel that is easily accessible and have wifi. There is a small bar and lobby area to hang out in as well. Also, there is a terrace on the roof with a view. Overall its a really nice place.
A great spot inside the Old City. Full of charm and comfortable enough. Had a small mini fridge and tv. The space was small but met our needs. The entire hotel staff were wonderful. Very kind and attentive. Meals were good- enough variety for the week, but also consistent in serving some staple foods. Laundry service was definitely a plus. This was a great location to help us get to know the Old City.
Rooms are comfortable. Food was fine overall but did not cater well for food intolerances.
Great location, good rooms, breakfast & dinner at hotel save money and time. Friendly staffHighly recommend.
The service has been top notch and food its delicious. Cant beat the location! Within walking distance of everything.
Just wonderful..like a family...just 4 mins away from The Church of the Holy Sepulchre makes it the best one could look for
amazing hotel! such amazing hospitality! food is EXCEPTIONAL! I recommend!
Most of our group have gotten stomach problems after checking into Gloria hotel and eating their buffet. My roommate who is a vegetarian has no problems though. The hot food is kept at a lovely temperature for growing bacteria. If you stay at their annex rather than the hotel proper, you should know its hostel standard, not hotel. Air condition is rather poor (or rather just air from outside), and so is the WiFi. I like firm beds, but the beds in our room are ridiculously hard! Other than that, its clean enough, and the staff is helpful.
I do not think they maintain their buffet well enough. My husband and I and several of our friends have food poisoning after eating from the buffet for two nights now. I will be avoiding the food today thats for sure. The annex is simple but the air conditioning is not very strong and the room feels barely cool. I am sure the rooms in the hotel proper are much nicer. However, the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. If you want to go here, I would stay away from the buffet.
Very nice hotel with a perfect location just inside Jaffa Gate. Nice cafeteria and bar area. Also some nice seating outside.
Brilliant hotel for us - very clean, proper bath in bathroom as well as shower. Right in heart of old City of Jerusalem. Friendly staff and good quality food. Not for those who want "super smart" hotels - but ideal for folks like us. If your disabled like me - ensure your bedroom is in main hotel - not annexe as there is no lift in the latter.
Its such a nice place and good accommodation, also the service is amazing and the servants are really nice the rooms are beautifully designed with a nice balcony that have a great view, also it is well secured
Nice hotel, i like it. Old elevators... But the service is decent and the staff friendly...
Amazing hotel with walking distance to some of the best restaurants in Old Jerusalem. The first night your there eat at Jacobs Pizza. Its on the same road and you cant miss it. BEST PIZZA I have ever had. Ive been to New York and this pizza is better.
the location is not ok on Google Maps. Right place is 31° 46′ 37.45″ N, 35° 13′ 39.50″ E
