Glasine's Cafe Bar & Gaming in Invercargill

This place use to be a favorite but the quality of service has slowly slipped over the last few months. Sick of waiting over 15 minutes for service. The last straw was today when I went in for a coffee, waited over 15 minutes for someone to take my order yet again. 3 Staff on and it wasnt busy. Overall so disappointed in how the service or lack of has been the last few months.

Had lovely blue cod last night and service was very good too.

Friendly staff, large portions, good atmosphere. A little out of my normal price range but it was worth it because the food was out of this world delicious!

Booked a table for a large group at very short notice for a birthday dinner, and wow! Arrived to find a well positioned beautifully laid table, the service was excellent! Friendly and prompt. The food was delicious! ,generous sized attractively presented meals. Very enjoyable evening had by all. Thank you 😊

There roast of the day is gorgous cheap and very filling also friendly staff and good atmosphere

Large meals. Roast of day was good, however chicken a little dry. Pan fried bluecod was generous, slightly overcooked but very tasty. Short staffed but very pleasant and helpful even though very busy. If you down that end of town would definitely go and enjoy the meal and a wine!

Best food for a pub meal every time never dissapoints friendly staff too

Glasines bar and cafe, is a very sociable place with a good atmosphere, awesome 😋food, and good people, staff and customers. 💗

It was the only place nearby I could find to get a coffee. I wouldnt normally go into a place that also has gaming rooms. Service was pleasant enough and the coffee was ok, but it was sad to see people drinking in there at 11am on a Saturday morning, and playing the machines.

Great to be remembered. Excellent seafood mornay & fantastic thick vege soup.

Beautiful meal today for lunch and the waitress was so well mannered and polite would definitely recommend you stop by for something to eat.

My retired mother ordered meals to pick up pudding was missing she rung Glasines girl was rude still no reply previous week she was over charged tried to do the same this week I would like a reply from management please

Tonight I had a half order of blue cod and chips its always beautiful and the side salad looked very nice and was delicious.

Lovely people awsum food and a good sized portion, I recommend Glasines as a place to eat. I had loaded wedges and my friend had Omette and toast.....lovely

Lovely friendly service meals good size ,good price for drinks n meals . 3stars . Unfortunately today snotty lady behind bar is not as friendly as the others. Ow thou was friendly to the elderly customers. Every time we walk in . We think ow snotty lady again.

Had a very pleasant meal which was reasonably priced and service was friendly and quick.

The food wasnt bad, but Nachos says it comes with salsa. You pay for salsa, you expect to get salsa, not half a bottle of sweet chili sauce! No excuse for that, if they were out salsa theres a supermarket right across road

I bought a large takeaway chai latte for $6. It was only slightly hot when I started and then was cold, I dont think the syrup had been stirred through it. It was revolting.

Food is pretty average. The bar lady is always outside smoking and ignores patrons if they are standing waiting at the bar. She is never friendly and doesnt allow people to get money out over the bar even when purchasing a food. There are far better establishments than this one locally!

Nice atmosphere good staff

Went into just just before 11.30. Mother Day. Told I couldnt have breakfast menu. Daughter ordered her meal I was just going to have a latte as all I was wanted was bacon and eggs. So the lady came back an i was told I would be having poached eggs on toast. Yip I got told not ask what I was having. Latte was to be half strength. It arrived full strength. Daughters meals was mash reheated. Sausages precooked. With mixed veges that seemed reheated. Left with daughters meal barely touched, full latte still there and as a diabetic I demolished my eggs. Treated as though I was unwelcomed. $31.00 for a horrible experience on Mother Day.

Good meal at a very reasonable price.  Also available to be booked on First Table website. Good service, however, only one toilet in the facility that we could see.

By all accounts this place is fairly good and well worth a try.
