Glacier Valley Bistro in Courtenay

Came in with my wife while she ordered something. I had a drink (milkshakefrom a nearby restaurant in my hand. I asked the counter staff if it was okay to have, since I was just waiting and my wife was ordering and we were leaving afterward . Counter staff said it was okay. After 5 minutes or so a manager (or owner, unsurecame from back and told me to leave.Poor communication between management and staff.

Dropped in for a late lunch. Had the veggie panini with mushroom soup as the side dish. Delicious,hot, fresh, and only $9.... seriously? Super good value. At the next table was the Rueben sammy which looked awesome. Banana bread and brownies: best in town. If you havent tried the Glacier Valley bistro, get movin!

Always happy with the food and service here! We eat here every Sunday for lunch, and will continue that tradition! Highly recommended

Good food good coffee

Stopped here for breakfast on a road trip through the island. The apple cheddar waffles were delicious as was the coffee. It has a cozy atmosphere and fun conversation with the proprietor. If you find yourself in Courtenay, stop here on the way to the beach for coffee, lunch or a delicious brunch.

GVB has a very welcoming atmosphere. The staff here are exceptional, delivering great customer service. That combined with the comfortable, almost cozy environment, ensures that everyone leaves a little happier than when they came in.The food is good, not great, as its lacking in flavor and spice levels for my taste. Granted I only had the Veg and Feta Wrap so the other items on the menu are open to interpretation. I will say that the Cream Soda here is fantastic! Highly recommend it.Overall its a great place to spend an hour or two with good company.

There are much better beef dips in the Valley and cheaper that come with fries.$14 for just a beef dip, no fries and a not to appetizing slaw. Didnt even ask if I wanted cheese. They usually come with cheese...not just meat and a bun. The beef dip is my go to. I have enjoyed them all over the world and never had to pay $14. Not a bad set up but needs to come back to reality.The oh-jus needs some work aswell as it has no taste. Also I shouldnt have to pay and tip before I get my food. You earn tips...not expect then.

If your Shopping in the Smart Centre Area and your getting hungry, this is the place to go. Good cup of Joe and Plentiful choices for breakfast and lunch.

Came here for lunch and had the pulled chicken club and Asian sesame salad with a coffee. It was so delicious, including the coffee. Everything is so fresh and it was cheaper than eating at mc Donalds. Very clean restaurant and awesome staff. Highly recommend.

This is a real GEM! The coffee is good and the food is amazing. The Chef (owner?Has an honest interest in his customers and actively seeks their input. I enjoy the quiet atmosphere but am sure this venue will (deservedlybe discovered.

Friendly people and very yummy food

Delicious food served a la carte. Worth the visit for the waffles but the sandwiches are good too. Fed the family for less than the cost of fast food but everything was handmade.

Went to the Bistro with my wife and 3 year old and the food was awesome we had beef dips and my 3 year old had a grilled cheese sandwich. We all enjoyed it and it all tasted fresh and the salad we got was like it was just picked out of the ground.Will return thank you. :)
