Glacier Ridge Animal Farm - Tourist attraction in Oshkosh, United States
The animals do not appear to be in great health and the enclosures are not kept up. It appears they only care about making money and could care less about the animals. Besides that they think it’s a good idea to insult the President of the United States in a huge line in the middle of their zoo. They don’t appear to have respect for the United States, its people, or animals. Do not recommend.
Awesome place. Wonderful people. Great time.
Enjoyed seeing the animals but the horse’s hooves really need to be taken care of!! Especially seeing a review from two years ago about the same problem. You should no have these animals if you can not care for them properly.
Horses hooves are curled , this place needs a thorough investigation
Nice
The experience and animals were amazing. The animals were very friendly. The caretaker gave everyone a loaf of bread to feed the animals at the ridge. It seems they are terribly understaffed. The animals hooves desperately need trimming, they are turning upwards causing the animals pain. Their eyes are being swarmed by flies. There was loose wire on the ground by the ponies. The admission fee is small. think if they charged more, maybe they could hire someone to help take care of the animals.
This looks like a working farm, so not quite as polished as some in the metro Chicago or Milwaukee areas may be accustomed to. I did see a few things of concern; some poly twine used to bail hay was left on the bail to feed the critters. A goat had ensnared its horns and was essentially tethered to the bail until the majority of the bail was eaten. The twine was wrapped around one horn once and then twice around both. Goats can be resilient and I dont know that it would starve or become dehydrated before being noticed, but Id worry about strangulation. A few horses looked matted and had some nodules on their legs. The shoes were not the best to an amateurs eyes. There were two Canada Geese that looked to have compromised wings. They were adults or close to it and the other wing of theirs was well-formed. Im not sure if these are rescues or wild geese that sought refuge (and an easy meal, but wanted to bring this up. Other than the above most animals seemed in good health. I did not spot sasquatch to confirm the well-being. A little more visibly present staff and clean up of some moldy bread (only accessible to the wandering Canada Geese as far as I could discernwould go a long way to giving visitors some peace of mind.
Owners know why one star...
Super friendly staff and animals! The kids had a great time & they even gave us each a whole bag of bread to feed the animals while we walked through. By the time we got there it was raining and we didn’t see anyone, so we called and she had said they closed early due to rain but was there in less than 5 minutes to take care of us anyways, then at the end her husband brought out a baby bottle fed goat for the kids to see. Highly recommended to anyone trying to find something fun to do outdoors
Kids always have a lot of fun. Something fun to do that wont take all day like a regular zoo but it gets the family doing something together. We love seeing the baby animals!
This was disappointing and sad. Fences and pastures in poor condition. Animals not much better. All they had in food troughs were loaves of bread and buns. At least the water buckets were clean. And then the worst part.... walked past the pen with the sika deer, and he had a large branch hanging and multiple ropes entangled in his antlers. Went up to talk to the people working, and they said they wouldnt do anything about it right now and they would have to wait for their boss to do it because "there at one point was a male deer in that pen that would charge you", but they werent sure if he was even in there anymore. Really? Well dont worry, I spent 15 min with my arms shoved through the little holes in the fence untangling the rope for you, since you couldnt be bothered. I posted pictures of him as well, please see those.
What a great farm! The animals are happy and welcoming. They will eat right out of your hand and will run right up to you. The owners and staff are very friendly!
It was awful. Owner said we could walk around, but in the parking lot there were two large dogs surrounding the car. I opened my door and both dogs were in my face barking loudly and one climbed half way on top of me (we have a corvette), and would not get out. Owner was 20 ft away and did not call dogs or try and help us. Finally got the dog out and closed the door and left. It is not a regular zoo, you dont know if it is open or where to go or prices etc. Not what we were expecting from the reviews??
Went there this year and last year, both times, extremely disappointed by the welfare of the animals, bread being their only food source in their feeding area/ troughs and their hooves were so disgustingly overgrown that they curled up towards their legs and could barley walk.... they apparently had run ins with animal control before but clearly don’t have enough concern to change their feelings/ actions towards these animals
Super friendly staff/ owners and cool of the grid place to visit some animals including few camels lamas and bison, definitely will visit again. Make sure you call ahead even tho their motto is if their home then their open.
Cute
Always a pleasure to hang with some kind animals. Staff is just as kind.
Great farm to visit, feed animals
This place was disgusting. Injured animal and animals were not groomed at all! The hay was moldy. Just not a well kept place at all.
Nice little zoo. People are super friendly and you can get up close to feed the animals. Great day for the family.
Cool place
Loved being able to feed the animals!
The animals seemed happy
Never been there
Love to visit here with the grandkids. The goats get up close and personal. :The peacocks are beautiful and are friendly. A nice place to go for a day with the family.
Grandkids had a great time feeding the animals.
Friendly staff..fun day feeding the animals
Great place fun for younger children. Can feed animals
I love this place. The animals are friendly and the people are as well. Reason for lower than perfect rating is that the sign says adult admission is $7.00, however we were charged $16.00 for two adults. 😕
Nice small zoo to bring kids to know animals
Trails could be marked better
Friendly goats, huge bison and fuzzy cows, worth a visit
Great little farm and friendly people!
Its a cute little petting zoo
What a fantastic place. It is a 14 acre petting zoo set in the middle of a working bison farm. You can a bunch of animals including the bison! Kids had a blast feeding all.the goats and llamas.
I live really vlose and go ther every day it is open
Loved this place!! All the animals were awesome, just remember to spray yourself with bug spray!
The animals really enjoy your company when your there, so it makes the whole experience a tad bit more fun than a regular zoo.
Very friendly, lots of animals!
Very nice place lots of animals to enjoy watch out for the spitting LLamas they will follow you everywhere if you got a bucket of food
This is a wonderful place to spend a few hours. You can up close with a variety of animals ranging from peacocks to tortoises to bison. Recommended.
Good place to waste some time
The first time i went in the beginning of summer it was great, since then they have raised prices too high and its so swarmed with biting flys we basically ran threw:/
