Time-tested, white-tablecloth Italian fixture with live jazz in the lounge along with Sunday brunch.
Giuseppes food style was not to my taste, very strong taste. My order was 4 cheese ravioli and was disappointed when I didnt get a Marina style meal !
Excellent food... the scallop appetizer was great, loaded baked potato soup was excellent and just the right size, and the Sea Bass entree w/pasta was SO good. Our waiter Timothy was also excellent...friendly, professional and knowledgeable! Reservations a MUST!
Gracious hostess, amazing food, and a lousy server ruined it. Experienced the “done with you” attitude (body language, eye contact, and gross negligence throughoutthat reeked of sabotage. Our best efforts to be graceful were met with a derisive manner.
This restaurant is absolutely fabulous. Service is impeccable, the food is always fresh and well prepared and the atmosphere is consistently spot on.Whoever founded this place must be some sort of genius!
The food and service here was so good. Our server was incredibly nice and recommended the dinner I had. I forget the name, but it was a seafood pasta dish. It was SO good. Will definitely be back when we visit Kentucky. This place is kind of hidden in a weird spot, but the food is so good.
We had a wonderful evening. Our server, Julia, was exceptionally knowledgeable in her recommendations and wine knowledgeable. 10/10+++
Oh. My. Goodness! Everything was wonderful. I will definitely be back. Also, ask for Devon, if possible, he is fantastic!
One of the few best in town! Fabulous food and excellent service. Our #1 choice for perfection.
Atmosphere and service was very good. The food was delicious. We will definitely tell our friends about Giuseppes.
Liked the wait staff very friendly they take the time with you when ordering. Spaghetti was a little spicy and bread was hard on the tooth. Didn.t like they price on their food .its a place to go to celebrate not a Wkly meal ambiance was super..
Consistently good. A great place for special occasions with something on the menu for everyone.
My husband and I came here for our anniversary. Holy moley! Probably one of the best meals I have ever had. Nice, quiet, romantic ambiance and the live music was a lovely touch. I cant wait to go back!
It’s NOT fine dining, anymore. The hostess was dressed like she worked at McDonald’s and food was just ok.
Busy place, but worth the wait. Excellent Italian food, great wait staff, great service, reasonably priced. Well be back.
Our server Devon was fantastic. Appetizers, drinks, entrees and dessert were all fabulous. Couldnt ask for a better experience. Will be back !
A wonderful dim-lit restaurant with live music, delicious food, and amazing service. While different instruments were played by one man, the plentiful amount of food and one of the best parts… the dessert, me and my family would definitely recommend this restaurant. 10/10.
I really enjoyed my experience here. I ordered the garlic bread because I didn’t know that there was complimentary bread with the salad. The garlic bread was out of this world. The salads were incredible too and the complimentary bread with whipped butter was delightful. The piccata was delectable. I ordered veal instead of chicken which was a mistake but it didn’t ruin the experience.
First time going and it was amazing! 🤌🏻 compliments to the chef! The 4 cheese ravioli is to die for! 😋 Wait staff was courteous and professional! The drinks are worth the money! 😏 Went for my bday and they gifted us a slice of red velvet, which was outstanding! Highly recommended!👌🏻⭐️ 🤩Drinks pictured: Patròn Paloma and Chocolatini.Appetizer: Fried oystersEntrèes: 4 cheese ravioli and carbonara italiano
So delicious! Everything from the drinks to the dessert was absolutely great! Cant wait to return and try another dish!
A wonderful, relaxing, and extremely enjoyable evening. The star of our meal was the seared scallops over a creamy risotto appetizer! The special tonite was panko crusted halibut served with a saffron infused lemon butter sauce. The music provided by Dave Hall is always a treat and lends a festive ambience to the meal. Giuseppes is a great place for special occasions or any time you want to have an excellent meal and a great time!
Food was excellent. Had the chicken marsala and it was fabulous! Wild Peach martini was great!! Will definitely go back.
We called last minute and they were able to fit us in. What an amazing experience. It started with our server, Julia, what an amazing person. My wife and I are from out of town and she made us feel like family. We placed our order, my wife had the Gnocchi with Vodka sauce, and I had the Lobster Ravioli. WOW! Truly the best meal I have ever had, had to ask for more bread to "sop" up all the sauce. If youre in the Lexington area please make sure to stop by this place for dinner, it is truly amazing!
Our waitress was fun and friendly. She gave us just the right amount of attention. The food was scrumptious! Our party of 4 had Caesar salad, house salad, and Tuscana soup to start (with warm house bread and soft butter). All were good. Entrees were Tortellini Alla Panna E Pesto, Ravioli Quattro Formaggi, Chicken Cacciatore, and Sausage Cacciatore. Everything was delicious and we all had to take some home. We were celebrating hubby’s birthday and our table was in the dining area with live jazz. It was a little too loud at times, but overall, very enjoyable! Lovely atmosphere, superb food - definitely recommend and would return.
Nice secluded place, food was like Grandma made it.Im happy to say that I have tried it.I would more than likely come here again!
Food was delicious, amazing atmosphere and live music from Dave Hall. A great place for families of all ages.
The service and dining experience was really great. The appetizer special we enjoyed. The clam pasta is exceptional. The wild peach martini with wild turkey was unique. Go try it out
I thought I had been eating Italian food my whole life!Giuseppes let me know... THIS IS ITALIAN FOOD!MY WHOLE LIFE HAS BEEN A LIE...Best food in Lexington! Hands down!
Everything from the food, atmosphere and staff was excellent. The grilled chicken fettuccine was some of the best Ive had here in Kentucky. My wife got the manicotti and she said it was very good.......so we will be going back.
My wife and I were extremely satisfied with this restaurant. The atmosphere was great and the food was outrageously righteous!!!! We had the scallops Rockefeller and the veal Parm. The scallops were cooked perfectly and the veal was lightly breaded and pan fried, so tender you didn’t even need a knife to cut it. The gravy (tomato sauce/marinarawas divine. We had the crispy oysters for an appetizer, fried perfectly and were very fresh. I will not think twice about coming back here for a second time the next time I am in Lexington. My son had their 12 ounce steak. He is an extremely picky eater and he devoured his whole plate. The tiramisu and cannolis we had for dessert, I wouldn’t of mind ordering a dozen of each and taking them back with me to the hotel. 😁Overall this is a righteous restaurant for authentic Italian cuisine! Well done! 10 stars!
Went last night for anniversary dinner. Wifes choice. I was a little disappointed as I wanted a good steak and would have chosen a traditional steak place. Was I surprised! Had a fantastic steak!Everything was delicious and our server Todd was great! Highly recommend!
Fantastic atmosphere and delicious Italian food! This was the second time I’ve been. First time was for a rehearsal dinner and this time when my parents were visiting. A bit pricey but definitely worth it, the entire table enjoyed our meals! Escargot, lobster ravioli, and Chilean sea bass
Oh my goodness…the food was sooooo good! We were looking forward to the gnocchi, and it didn’t disappoint! It was perfectly cooked and well seasoned, and the rest of the meal was fantastic. Our server Julia was so kind and sweet. She made the experience even more enjoyable! We’re looking forward to our next visit!!
Amazing food and wonderful staff! I would definitely recommend it. Prices are a bit high but not too bad. Make reservations if you are planning on going
Frutti Di Mare is hands down the best Italian dish Ive ever had anywhere. Cant wait to come back and have it again...and again. The garlic cheese bread and Arancini appetizers were excellent as well but the star of the show was the Frutti Di Mare. Its a must try especially for seafood lovers.
Excellent food and service. Don’t overlook the fried oysters. Each bite is perfection. Most of the time, we start with a martini and bread/soft butter, and make a meal of appetizers. The special appetizer last week was escargot bites which was a tantalizing addition. Timothy has been our server 3 times and provides an easy going and meticulous experience. Great sense of humor. Ask for Timothy. You’ll be glad you did.
This is an honest review. I visited with my wife. We had heard of this place but never eaten there. We arrived and were immediately looked at as if we were trash. We were in graphic tees and jeans, and this apparently isnt classy enough. We were ushered to a patio converted to a extra dining room that I can only assume is used for such guests. We did have a pleasant waitress, who took good care of us. The food was honestly just good, not amazing. This would not be an issue at many other restaurants, but this place has an average cost of $30 per dish at least. So I expect better than simply good. We also had to miss out on the live music as it could not be seen or heard where we were seated. We were very uncomfortable in the way we seemed to be treated once we arrived and it killed the whole experience. Im big on giving second chances but im not sure if Id return.
Shrimp Cacciatore also outstanding. I would not recommend my worst enemy to eat here thoughp (because if I did the the line would be out the door this place is Amazingly Good). Come hungry, leave satisfied....GIUSEPPES
My significant other made reservations hoping we would have a fabulous dinner and hear some local jazz. Well we were seated outside in a covered patio that everytime a new customer entered the restaurant more cold air came in. This covered patio shouldnt be used in the winter nor should anyone who has reservations. We were not able to hear the jazz player. I asked for a seat inside and was offered the bar. For the prices this place charges for food I should NOT SIT OUTSIDE!
If I could post a negative amount of stars, I would. We have frequented Giuseppes for years, and have been good patrons. My daughter drove for three hours the other day so we could go to Giuseppe‘s and celebrate her birthday. We called the night before and were told to come in around 4 to 430 and they wouldn’t be busy so there was no need of a reservation. We got there at 4:15, and were turned away because they said they couldn’t seat us because they were too busy. In reality, there were just a few people in the dining room, so it would’ve been perfectly fine to seat us. We were turned away, we believe, because we had children in our party. We will never, and I mean never, frequent this establishment again.
I would have given a four star but they messed up. How, glad you asked. We made reservations for our first outing of the year to hear some Jazz and have a meal. Instead we were placed in an room that seemed like an outdoor conversion space and had to listen to the radio. Even though we had reservations for days, we were told that if wanted to hear the music we would have to sit at the bar. The room was adjacent to the entrance door so everytime someone came or went we got a cold burst of air. For an $80 meal we should have been better informed of what our accommodations would have looked like so we could have adjusted our expectations for the evening. The food was great but the overall experience was horrible due to poor communication on Giuseppes part on how the seating worked.
I had a large party of 8 and one small baby. We had a lovely dinner...it was a Birthday celebration. This was everyones first trip and experience there. The food was tasty and it was presented very timely. There were some issues: scant parking (I brought a Suburban, not to have 3 vehicles thereit crowds the lot and neighbors, I could not hear the "Live Music", & our waiter got a little "snappy" when someone asked to order appetizers ("Can I get this table first!?!?").
Yum! Awesome authentic food! Its a must of you are driving through or a local
The food was amazing, the waitstaff was on top of everything. I recommend making a reservation because they are busy from the time they open until they close. Also get a bonus for the live music, it sent the mood for the evening.
My husband I went for our anniversary. First, the food was DELICIOUS! Both my husband and I couldn’t have enjoyed our meals more. The only reason I’m posting three stars is because of the service. Our server started on a high note with great suggestions and knowledge. However, we never saw him even one more time after we placed our orders until we were finished! My husband had to ask for a refill from a passing hostess, and our server knew he needed one. We will definitely go back because the food is just so great, and maybe our server was just having a bad day. I still highly recommend going!
Delicious! Service and atmosphere were perfect and the music was amazing
Went here for my birthday and ordered Calamari fritti and 12 oz Angus Ribeye for entree.Calamari was good and ribeye was OK. Not great. No flavor. Boiled vegetables on the side were just that but I wasn’t expecting anything much. Disappointed with the ribeye.
Excellent food and friendly service! Dining ontbe patio and tiramisu for dessert made it perfect!
Food was excellent. Found a delish bottle of wine for under $35. The parking lot is crowded with many parking on the narrow street near restaurant. The bar seats were full with very little turnover on this Wednesday evening at 7pm. Musician was very talented.
Delicious food and wonderful service, but very expensive entrees. They gave my mother in law a free dessert for her birthday which was nice. Bottles of wine are pricey! But I think the expense is to be expected at this place. They have live jazz music most, or maybe even every night too!
Excellent food with a warm feeling inside. Has a white table cloth side and a live music/bar side that makes for a great setting. Quality wine and cocktail list. Not only was our food and wine great but the service was just as awesome!
