Great stay, we had a cottage and we loved it. We have been here for 3 years. Best weather for hiking and amazing fall views is on October 1-st. Great food at the restaurant and pub, good customer service.
Had a reservation at the hotel. Called 2 days before to inquire about cancellation. Of course nobody answered the phone as it happens 90% of the times you call them. They might be understaffed or taking a break (not sure). Back to what happened... Left a voicemail inquiring about the cancellation (that happened to be non-refundable). Again, no call-back (although leaving my phone number and they having it on my file). Once I called to confirm, I was confirmed the NON-REFUNDABLE reservation had been cancelled already (that was before my staying). So, nothing could be done. Okay... During my trip, in hte gaspesie I tried calling them soo many times, soo many, and not once somebody picked up the phone, so me and my beloved kind girlfriend left them many voicemails and, to be fair, they did return a few of our unanswered calls (VMs), for both (mine and her cell phone), but for some reason everytime they called us as we were in the Gaspesie, we picked up the phone and we could not hear anything. Of course, at some point we stopped trying and decided to deal with it when we are back. Now we are back to our home and my partner called them to see if we could get a credit at the hotel as we plan to come back next year and they followed the policy black and white. NO REFUNDS, NO REFUNDS, NO REFUNDS. Just leaving this review here based on my experience with their customer service.
We werent prepared for the beauty of the location of the hotel, which is in the centre of the forest. We ate at their dinning room and were completely spoilt by the service of Matthew our waiter, and, with exquisite food...the tenderest Pork Chop, the Braised Beef Fettucini, beet root caspacio, and desserts that brought us to a high degree of amazement...breakfast was buffet style and got us started well for our day... loved our visit here!
The location is awesome and the natural beauty is amazing! Tried to modify our booking to cancel the last night with over 24hrs notice and they would not give a refund. Customer service was poor. Although we stayed on September 10 and 11th and it was high 20s (celcius the pool was closed.
Great value for the money. Large spacious rooms. We stayed in the extra building behind the main hotel. Everything was great. Bed, linens, cleanliness as well as the food for breakfast and for dinner. We will come again.
Good food and awesome deserts but do NOT take the cod. It was very dry with no sauce. I was very disappointed with this dish.
For my first experience there, Id say what really made it for me was the staff. Everybody was so nice and helpful. Big shout out to Mathieu and Lydie working at the bar who we ended up talking with while having a drink; just the loveliest of people!
Great base to explore the area. Very friendly staff. The food is superb.
Great food but be warned small portions
The hotel is lovely nestled in the centre of the National Park. The hotel is lovely upscale accomodations which is surrounded by hiking trails. The restaurant is delicious and is a must if you ate staying at the hotel or close by.
Super place to stay and enjoy nature all around. Right in the middle of Gaspe national park. Stayed for 2 nights. The restaurant is great as well. Spotted the Moose close to the property thrice.
We stopped here after a hike for a drink and lunch. I had the lobster bisque soup, which was incredible. The staff were really friendly and the views were worth it.You do need to provide vaccination status before entering.
Nice place nice hike. Room is outdated but comfortable. Restaurant service was awful . For the price I expect better.
Everything was excellent; the room, the food, the service and the hikes. Its a great relaxing get away surrounded by nothing but beautiful mountains.
Nice and clean room with air cond. the hotel restaurant has excellent food. Make sure to reserve the seat for breakfast and dinner. It is quite full at 8am and 7pm.
just so so
For the price, I expected better. Soundproofing between rooms is not sufficient and being woken up very early by footsteps from the room above was not great. Lack of air circulation makes the rooms stuffy. Rooms would be ok at a lower price but in this price range I usually see more quality. The food was good and the staff was very friendly. The location is outstanding.
When you wake up and this is your view from the window, it’s hard to find things that are off! I highly encourage everyone who passes through the #299 to stop and enjoy the ambiance, the friendly staff, the breathtaking view and smiles behind the counter.
Stopped here for a nice dinner, was not disappointed. It is a great place to dine.
Fantastic fish and chips coupled with excellent service!
Outstanding food.
Loved it! Clean, nice and fresh
Nice location, rooms in the caribou are nice, a bit dated. Missing bed side tables and iPhone docks are for iPhone 4 and older. A little disappointed that laundry was 4$ for wash and 3$ for drying in COIN MACHINES (only take 1$ coinsfor a place 250$ and more a night pretty ridiculous. Included breakfast was mostly good- eggs Benedict was cold one morning but otherwise tasty food. Service was good, and pool was very nice. Overall nice location and nice place but I don’t know if I’d call it a 4 star hotel.
Great stay. Great food. Clean rooms - although a bit dated. Location awesome for outdoors.
Great outdoors lodging and many activities to do.
Beautiful. Food is decent enough.
Quit, nice room in the gite, good breakfast
Though it is situated in a beautiful location, our stay at the Gîte was disappointing. We had the package with a 3-course dinner and buffet breakfast included, and for what we paid, the quality was decidedly mediocre. The whole operation felt very commercial and bland. It felt like staying at a very expensive Holiday Inn. To be fair though, some of this is a matter of taste. The fireside "bistro" is in a well-designed room, big windows looking onto Mont-Albert, but the atmosphere was completely ruined by loud pop music. It was totally incongruent with the beauty of the mountains and did not suit the vibe of the space. There was also a TV on 24/7 that is very distracting. To me, this is not the point of a place like this. Why come to the mountains and get exactly what you get at home? Our room was renovated, clean and reasonably nice, but as another reviewer noted, quite loud. We were close to an exterior door on the main floor and heard it all day and night. The room next to us had a connecting door and we also heard our neighbours frequently. The dining room has been "updated" to erase whatever character the old room might have had. It is a nice enough space but nothing special. "Modern" furniture and feel. The girl who seated us was very nice, but the server was impersonal and clearly did not care to be there. The meal was good and plated beautifully, but came out cold. Overall the impression is one of style over substance. The breakfast buffet was standard stuff, nothing you cant get anywhere else. The waffles and pancakes were tasteless though. The highlight was probably the newly renovated sauna, we appreciated that after 5 days in the backcountry. The whole facility was also very clean. I should note that my partner is Québécois, so our experience was probably not based on my limited french.
Great stay in a good hotel in an amazing location. The hotel itself is nice, with renovated rooms, a good breakfast and nice dining options; we especially like the small pub, where we can eat and play board games by the fire. Staff is helpfull and always nice. There could always be room for improvement for the hotel (shower water is sometimes lukewarm, power outlets hidden in the back of a drawer by the bed, and maybe some other details, but nothing too much bothersome), but what is truly amazing is the hotel setting, just by Mnt Albert, at the heart of the Chic-Chocs. Weve been here three winters in a row to relax and enjoy the great outdoors while staying in the comfort and luxury of a 4 star hotel. There is nothing in Quebec that compares to this that I know of. Would recommend for sure.
Super fine dining!
Excellent location! Lots of fun activities and the food is good.
Excelent bistro !
This place is between a 3 and a 4 star. The hotel is beautiful and well-situated; however given its location, you’re forced to dine at the hotel. We had breakfast “included” with our room, and it was great - wonderful choices, especially just before a great hike (with access trails literally across the street from the hotel). The problem is with the supper menu - I expected fresher food and products from the area, but I was sadly disappointed. For the price, the food just did not fit the bill. The rest of the hotel is great though!
Nice hotel. Watch closing of kitchen. In March it closed at 7pm
Good beer, good views, ski gear acceptable.
Beautiful and comfortable, great WiFi.
Good food. Great location
Camping for every taste
Perfection !
Cant get any better. In the middle of one of the most scenic parks in Canada, hiking trails galore, 4 star hotel facilities with stellar food. Turns out you can have it all. No need to rough it up to enjoy nature.
Amazing view, great food and service. I would definitly go back again.
Rooms are recently renovated, nice spaces. Wifi available, spotty in the room but worked well in the bar. The breakfast was decent. Buffet style with fruits, cereal, toast, meats, eggs, pancakes and French toast. The bar menu was okay, both good and drinks. The meal we ate at the bar was a good attempt but the poutine was dry and the nachos needed more time to bake. Great location for exploring the park.
Excellent gîte.
Great food, great bar, great room
Didnt stay the night so I cant comment on accomodations, but the food was splendid.
Good
Beautiful stay at the hotel. Gorgeous views of Mont Albert from our room. Lovely dinner too!
Only got lunch. Great service, great food, amazing views of the Parc de la Gaspésie.
