Have followed and read a lot about this museum on Facebook and it exceeded my expectations. An interesting, well laid out and informative collection with a very enthusiastic and helpful group of volunteers. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

A great collection of local history, hidden away behind the tafe and esso training center.

Wow! What a hidden gem. This museum is sensational, so much local history and activity from active service days i had no idea about. The gentleman on site are ex servicemen and have an amazing insight and tales from living it. Highly recommend this place for a stop. We spent an hour there and could of spent plenty more.Well worth the $4 donation entry fee.

Oh these guys have some of the coolest things on display. Also a lot of history! Make sure to talk the guys.. or else you might just skip through some great stuff such as historic flags signalling an important point in human history, or how flight training simulators worked before the age of computers. There are quite a few interesting stories here and if you are into such things make sure you have enough time to browse through the place.I would love to visit again... And I recommend anyone visit Sale to stop by. We need such places, we need these stories and they need our support!

Great little museum with some excellent displays, particularly local RAAF history. Appreciated the effort to stay open for us and provide a personal tour to boot.

Fantastic look at local military contributions both army, naval and aerial services. Very detailed accounts of conflicts with fantastic memorials. Well worth a visit.

Lovely place! Very kind staff, and well preserved items!Went there with my family yesterday, bought a small item, then returned later to see if they had the full set. After realizing they didnt have the rest, they gave me some model tanks they had! Absolutely wonderful people, and a wonderful place. Visit it if your in the area!

Theres a lot to look at and read about. Much more than the children will allow. So, a short visit with children or spend a lot longer on your own.

The level of detail in everything presented is amazing. The people working there were very happy to explain how things work and share stories behind items.

In a hangar at West Sale Airport is a museum charting more than 135 years of Australian military history, all from a Gippsland perspective.There’s some impressive military hardware in the collection, including a jet greeting you on arrival and an engine and propeller inside.Spanning all branches of the armed forces, the collection runs to over 1,500 pieces and features diaries, maps, uniforms, photographs medals and preserved vintage posters.Among these are artefacts from Gallipoli, Belgium and France, all helping to document the role of Gippslanders in defending the country in war and peace.

I had no idea this place was there, and Im really glad I stopped. So much wonderful local history, coupled with a genuine passion by the staff. Was such a joy to visit.
