Ginki Mandalay Bar & Restaurant - Restaurant in Chauk, Myanmar
Really delicious pasta! The staff were very friendly and attentive - the only downside was a manager dressed in a dirty t-shirt and scruffy longyi shouting and berating the staff directly outside the window when I was trying to enjoy my meal. He should dress appropriately for work and consider how his behaviour appears (and soundsto customers.
Bad service experience
We were regular customers because we liked a few dishes. The service was never satisfying despite the service charges that they include automatically in your bill. But the last time was the worst! They had a new manager who was simply rude and unprofessional with everything he did. When we arrived, he decided to control one of his waiters and chose to stand right behind my friend at a distance where he could almost smell her hair with an attitude that had nothing polite or professional in it.Next, he couldnt care less about us, busy that he was with other customers. We ordered three dishes and only one was served after 30 min of wait. So my friend had to eat because it was getting cold. Nobody bothered telling us that the other dishes would take more time. More than 30 minutes after the first dish was served, nothing came yet!We complained and the manager left in the middle of it without a word or an apology!I paid and we left without touching the rest of the dishes. This was surely my last time at that restaurant.
Not bad.Price is expensive.Nice location in mdy
Nice venue to hold night party. Both indoor and outdoor sitting are available.
Really pleasant place. Food was great (chicken, chili and coconut milk dish, coffee was great. My friend said to avoid the garlic bread or burger though.
Really slow service, also the staff need to be more confident, it seems that they have no idea whats going on. They forgot something that I ordered, but it arrived quickly after I told them, because I arrived 1 hour before they closed. Also it took ages to pay, at the end I went to the bar and asked for the bill for the 3rd time, because I couldnt wait longer. The food and the athmosphere is really nice though, but the service ruins the experience.
Was about to give five stars seeing the food was really tasty for an acceptable price. Until it took them 20+ minutes before they where finally able to give me the check. I guess the moment it gets more busy the abundance of waiters somehow still arent able to give quick service.Tax and service charge are not included on the menu price.
Nice location, friendly staff, lousy music, poor Gin and Tonics, but the others seem to have no tadtebuds
Food was ok, service was so bad. 5 guys running around and dont know the hell what they are doing. 1 girl also was running around and doing nothing with a funeral face.
Great place, good atmosphere and tasty food.
Very tasty Asian food. It is also possible to get western food if desired. The waiters speak good English. I can also absolutely recommend the fresh fruity juices, very delicious!
The price is high . But you can eat very delicious indian, thai, europian food that have quiet and beautiful place.
Nice Place and Excellence ServicesI would like to recommend a this BarFamily and Couple is going there
Great environment, great place, great menu and staff. And they have garden tables.
Nice family restaurantGood customr careTaste is good.
Nice staff. Good price and food.
The service was a bit slow but the food was worth the wait. The aloo puri in paryicul6was delicious
Not too good delicious , bad services , bill error.
Nice place to hangoutThe food is delicious hereBut unfortunately Last weeks order went wrongOrdered Chicken kebab but they brought some Chicken curry and when I questioned, they said , this is how they prepare Chicken Kebab.
Had chicken stir fry with cashew & vegetables washed down with gin & tonic. Delish! Open late
The environment is nice and the staff friendly, but the food is too overpriced! We had way more delicious traditional meals in other places in Myanmar (e.g. Nyaung Shwefor 1/3 of these prices! And honestly, when I see a Greek salad (among other western european dishesin the menu of a Burmese restaurant, something doesnt sit well with me. It is like I see a Mohinga in the menu of a Greek restaurant...
Quiet and delicious but a little bit expensive! If you are looking for high-end style, this is it.
Great place. Lovely staff, fantastic food. I can recommend this for anyone visiting Mandalay
Delightful ambience inside and out.Service was polite and efficient. Beer was cold, food hot, well presented. Price very reasonable, considering its upmarket, for a chicken satay (similar flavour to Thai), rice and large bottle of beer - about $6/7
Delicious food with fair price, cosy surrounding
I love this place! We visited there two nights in a row. They serve a wide variety of Indian, Western, Thai, and Burmese foods and alcohol. Prices are reasonable as well. Best thing is that they open until late.
Its a cozy place to hang out in Mandalay at late night.
The best night restaurant in mandalay .Very good place to kill ur night and make relax in garden table . they have two option sitting in ac room and sitting in garden tables . both are nice . all the foods are good . they can get asian foods , European and even Indian food . all tasty .
Have fresh, good and healthy taste, fair price but narrow space indoor seat and poor service, need to add waiters, consumers and waiters are unequal.
Taste goodService satisfiedCost expensive lv 4 /5Hygiene goodLocation really niceDecorations perfectEasy place to relax
Staff great.Satay sauce needs to be improved worst ever had. Beer not cold enoughLocation and vibe is great
Very good Food, services & decoration.
Good asian fusion food. Love the curries. Price reasonable.
Great restaurant serving Myanmar as well as Western dishes. Good choice of drinks too and reasonably priced for the resturaunts of Mandalay
The ginger "tea" was pretty good and made of real fresh ingredients. The barker got us going in even though they started closing and rushing our stay. Waiters turned some of the lights off before we even got food. The food itself was only OK of quality, but the prices high. The Kashmir Pulao had strawberries AND apple. Either one those is a bit strange in the dish. You will get better food and much better service, with a smaller bill from any small restaurant catering to locals. To top this off the waiters didnt want to accept 2 of our notes of local money. One of them had a corner ripped off, the other had a very minor piece nibled off a side. Both of those should be accepted by all merchants as the local currency is quite varied in condition and were given to us by a banks exchange.
Nice setting, large cocktail selection, good cocktails too, BUT suuuuuper slow, had to ask three times for the cocktails to arrive, the food got here cold after 40 minutes wait, waiters try to be helpful but they don’t understand much. Oh and by the way we thought it was Indian restaurant so we ate everything with our hands, but actually they just forgot to bring cutlery. So all in all, I should have followed the initial plan to go down the street 100m to Mingalabar as TripAdvisor advised previously.
Can barely pass for Mexican food. Its neither here nor there.
Good food, nice staff, great outside area.
Good drinks and Thai foods with strong taste. Well-trained staff.
Read so many bad reviews I was skeptical but it was good Indian food, though the names were all wrong, just enjoy the food, must order : garlic nan, which is a garlic Partha, and mutton curry, awesome, chicken tikka was actually was one unlike strip of meat as given in even good restaurants, if you are an Indian try
Good Food - Do try for Afganistan Chicken and Cha cho sat cho
Nice atmosphere outside under trees. We only had drinks, were good. Staff are friendly, but untrained. No problem if you are on holidays.
It took too long to order things! Its super slow! They didnt even pay attention to customers! (ADVICE:KEEP AWAY FROM THIS PLACE CALL GINKI )
We visited this restaurant since unlike many restaurants in Mandalay, it stays open beyond 9pm.The menu is a huge mix of local, asian and european food. Trying to please every possible tourist!Things we ordered didnt arrive, the waiter set fire to some chopsticks accidentally, the food was poor, the blueberry smoothie didnt contain blueberries, the fish came with a lime sauce and an extra litre of the stuff and finally the bill arrived charging us for the things they forgot to bring.Dont waste your time and money here.
Realy lovely place to have diner or spend evening.
a nice place, good services but price is alittle bit high, enough to enjoy drinking. . .
Wife was looking for a break in local cuisine and we stumbled upon this place. Ambiance and food was beyond our expectations. Fries were great, pasta was better than one could hope for, my kahti roll was outstanding. Service, unsurprisingly, was amazingly friendly.
Nice garden Restaurant and bar. Food was good and not expensive. Very friendly staff.
Avoid this place. Now called Ginki. Over priced for the area and much better food just down the road at Mingalabar. Service was very slow and they got our order wrong. The only redeeming thing was they did not charge us for the full meal. If they did it would have been twice the price of two excellent restaurants we have eaten at the last two nights, being Shan Ma Ma and Mingalabar
