Gingham's Homestyle Restaurant in Saint Charles

My wife and I have been going to Ginghams for decades. A few years ago they moved to a larger more beautiful location. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem they can keep up and quality is not good. When we go there now we can expect to be there for two hours for food that really isn’t good anymore. Disappointing. I hope they can get back the the level of service they had before. Until then there are plenty of places in St. Charles that have a quality dining service.

Ginghams will forever be a favorite restaurant of mine. My grandfather used to take me out to eat there and now I take my family. Went there recently for just a small house salad and that was good! We normally order breakfast and get tons of pancakes. They are quite generous with their pancakes and can do smiley faces for the kids, they love it!

Wow! This place is great.I had eaten at Ginghams many years ago. Recently we decided to go and check out the new location. The new location and building is a major improvement. Food was brought to the table hot and fast (despite the busy weekend morning). Food was always good at Ginghams. However it seems to be even better now.Our favorite part is the waitlist feature. We have eaten 4 additional times since our initial visit as a result of the waitlist feature …and great food/service of course. It is so nice not having to wait in a cramped foyer for an hour. Much better to be waiting at home. Not sure why more restaurants do not use that service.

Great lunch. Fantastic waitress , she joked with us. We always had filled glasses and she had 6 other tables that I could tell everyone had great service. We ordered fried chicken, as soon we told her, she went and ordered it and came back for our sides, nice thought.Ck 194 table 85 9.6.2022

Whitney our server was friendly. We ordered the fried chicken, which takes about 25 minutes to prepare. Our food was piping hot and delicious. Restaurant and restroom was nicely cleaned. I will definitely return.

I just love love love this place food always good, fresh and hot. Oh but today I had the worst service ever. My waitress Kyle has a very rude and nasty attitude. She bought me out half my order and walked past me to give me the rest of my order. She started off with a bad attitude. Thanks to the manger tonight for being professional but Kyle needs to find a job she like.

This was the first time for me at this restaurant. They have a very large selection of food. I had a small stack (3pancakes and bacon on the side with some sweet tea. The food was very good, the prices reasonable and the server was friendly and attentive to our needs. We will visit Ginghams again and soon. Need to try their pie!!!

Ginghams is our favorite place most similar to a diner that we have experienced back in New Jersey. I love to be able to have breakfast anytime and the choice of whatever kind of meal I want. The food is very good. A little pricey to be able to go often and get anything we want but very good. Also they have moved to a more accessible and open location.

My wife and I have not been to the new restaurant. We really enjoyed the good service, good atmosphere and of course the good food. Very nice visit and we will be back often!

I have no idea why people eat breakfast here! The gravy for Biscuits is powdered ( just add water the cooks are to LAZY to scrambled tge eggs so it’s like an omelette.The only pleasant experience here was the waitress. Maybe lunch is better but I’ll never find out!

Must visit restaurant in St.Charles.. most importantly its 24 hours open 😃. Their food is delicious, Garden omelette is my favorite(try it out).. ambience is good and food delivery is bit late but worth waiting.

Whitney was out server this morning, and she was GREAT! Even though she was slammed, she took care of us in a timely manner, and consistently checked on us. Food came out hot, and tasted great. I also appreciated her handling my (hopefullyminor special requests on our childrens drinks and with my omlet.

After an evening out with friends at the Muny, my wife and I were hungry and decided to try out Ginghams. Theyre open 24 hours and serve everything from breakfast to lunch and dinner. Our friends joined us and we were extremely satisfied with not only the food, but Shout out to Samantha for some of the best service Ive ever had in a restaurant setting. We enjoyed a great night of entertainment and food to follow. So if ever youre out late and want good food to top off your night try Ginghams. And if youre lucky enough maybe you get Samantha as your server.

Food and service is great, but they really need to remove the open 24hrs sign if they arent open. That is false information.We stopped by this past Sunday night to grqb something to eat, it was 9:37p.m. My party was turned around they said they closed at 10p.m. The website said open 24hrs and the sign on the outside of the building says 24hrs, but we were told otherwise.Update: I was informed by the owner that Sundays and Mondays are the only days that they are not open 2 due to short staffing. I had no idea of this, because I do not reside in Missouri. All I am saying basically is to please updateyour new current hours on Google publicly,because it is very confusing when it says open 24hrs on the website all days of the week and it is not. Thank you.

The hostess and the waitress were great! The food was not. I ordered the patty melt. It was so greasy that the extra napkins were not enough. The patty was a thick, food service, frozen burger. Not a nice thin fresh burger. My wife wanted a pie to take home. The coconut cream looked good to her. When she tried to cut a piece, she quickly found out that it was old and sitting in the display case for days, if not longer.

The place has really fell off a cliff. Toast is ALWAYS overcooked to full crouton level, taco salad taste horrible, and god forbid that you try to share your soup with your 79 year old father without the owners blessing. Do yourself a favor and reconsider.

I go here all the time. Its always pretty busy but fast service. Friendly staff, and highly organized operations. The pancakes are awesome (I usually get bacon pancakes!), and the house salad is one of my favorites.

Good food and they were happy to accommodate our large group for breakfast. Service was quick and courteous. They also had a large variety on the breakfast menu. Would recommend this restaurant for breakfast!

Stopped by after landing at the airport, loved it so much we came back for dinner the night we flew back home. They have a rewards program that gives you 20% off your first bill. Honestly, even before that discount the food is very fairly priced. Both the food and the service are exceptional here. The blueberry muffins are so tender and moist with breakfast. The pancakes are perfect as well.Plenty of parking. Reduced price when paying in cash, too. Highly recommend!

I just recently found this place as I travel quite a bit to the area. I had fried chicken which was pretty darn good: juicy and delicious. The only small thing I was hoping for were homemade mashed potatoes which would have made my dinner over the top good. Service was great and love the atmosphere, which is why I rated a 5 star. Ginghams is definitely gonna be one of my go to places when I come back!

Great place to get together with the family. Fair prices and good service. Do not let the crowds overwhelm you. They usually get you seated pretty quick. We waited less than 10 minutes to be seated on Fathers Day with lines out the door.

Good service and food! I had fried chicken and my daughter had a burger and both were very good. The service was excellent with the right amount of “attention”. The dessert pies are also very good.

Great service. Large portions. Excellent family atmosphere. Clean. Staff are wonderful, especially Marlessa, Treasure and Sam. Keep up the great service!! So happy you all moved to larger space with ample parking.

This place has some great eats! This time around it was my 1st time trying the side salad with my meal. Can you say IMPRESSED!!! Yes that I was. Their portion sizes are more than generous but that salad was sooooo tasteful especially with just having the minimum ingredients in it. I was skeptical about trying their house dressing which us ranch mixed with Italian that I asked for just ranch. Our waitress Lakeisha took the liberty to bring me both just so I could try it and Ill admit wrong decision on my behalf cause that dressing was goooooood! Ill say this if you see on the menu, have 2nd thoughts about it. Then you should get it. I have not had a bad thing yet from this restaurant. Love love love it! Thanks Ginghams and Staff

I’m usually particular about vegan options, but this place does technically have a few and moreover has vegetarian ones. I’d really like to see more of the former though. Nevertheless, I think the welcoming and wholesome atmosphere and nice servers just made it too hard to rate lower.

Good food chicken had a good crush to it but was a little too salty. Waffles good but the waitress never brought us utensils nor did she bring us plates or napkins for our appetizers.

PHENOMENAL. I’ve been coming to Gingham’s for a long time, and tonight tipped the scales and compelled me to write this review. Y’all need to get here and check this place out.The food came out quickly and was incredible. Simply couldn’t have been better. Didn’t even take any pictures for this review because I was so into how good it was. Couldn’t take a “gram” break! LolBetter than the food, though, was the service. Our server, Lina, was a total champ. She was friendly, attentive, and on the ball. Totally above and beyond! Great with conversation, but not overbearing. She clearly gave it her all, and it showed in the best way.Such a great experience. I always recommend this place, but now I’m going to spread it like the Gospel. With a declining standard in the restaurant world, this was a vital breath of fresh air. I’ll be back real soon. 11/10

Loved this place for years! Just had one of the BEST experiences Ive ever had here with a buddy of mine. Hot, HOT fresh food, crispy fries, burger cooked to order, basically perfect. The house salad was prepared masterfully by our server. Speaking of server, LINA needs a bonus, or an award or something. Her attention, accuracy, kindness, and attitude MADE this meal for us! Seriously, ask for Lina! I havent been here in a long time, and this revisit after a long break was the PERFECT "welcome back" and Lina made that possible, great job, Ginghams. Keep St. Charles alive.

Great place to eat. The service was excellent and very friendly. Had the liver and onions, baby carrots and broccoli. My meal was better than I have ever had, the best. Cut it with a fork. I highly recommend you try this restaurant 😋

Went there for lunch. Ordered the grilled chicken salad, clam chowder, and the catfish meal with American fries and green beans. Clam chowder was hot and tasty. The salad was just meh. Got a piece of gristle and that pretty much did it for me. My lunch companion ordered the fried catfish. It was the whole fish, not filets. Had a hard time eating it. Far to many bones. The meal total was 30.00 and honestly not worth it. Really wished I had said something to the waitress but she only checked on us at the beginning when the food wes served so to early to tell if it was good or not. If we do decide to go back sticking with the burgers or breakfast. Disappointing.

For sure recommend the tempura shrimp, I was wondering if there was anyone who bought it before me and I didn’t see any reviews on it so here’s one! :))

Excellent! Great home cooked comfort food! We had the Irish Benedict and it was insanely good and filling. The hashbrowns were perfect and well buttered. Well be going back for sure.

My friends recommended this place to me, and I was excited to try it out! I have a restricted diet, I cant have dairy, and when I asked the waitress what my options were she didnt know and went to ask the manager. I stand by that if you dont know enough about the menu, please go seek someone who would know so I was happy to see she took it seriously. Yet she came back from a 5 min talk and basically said that I could have the chili, and then stated that yes that shouldnt have eggs in it. When I clarified that I couldnt have cheese, milk, or butter she got kinda confused and didnt attempt to go reclarify with the manager. She just asked if I wanted time to go over the menu, which I said yes to. Without knowing what I could and could not eat based on how the cooks prepared certain menu items I ended up ordering fries. Just fries. Needless to say I will not be eating here again.

Cheesecake was excellent! Food was really good, waitress was attentive. Will come back again!

Nice big place with a large variety of different foods. Open at all hours, so theres quite a mix of local seniors, families, and college kids. Minus one star because I felt very nauseous after eating the fried sampler platter. The food tasted good, but I threw my leftovers away just in case. Might have just been the amount of oil/grease in the food. Ill try something less fried next time.

Gosh do we love Ginghams!! We eat here every chance we get on our way to and from Colorado! We especially like the meatloaf and country fried steak. The plain cheesecake is the best! Great food, and 24 hours!

The food is very delicious and the service was friendly and fast, even late at night.

I just dined here for the first time and didn’t encounter one rotten person as the reviewer immediately before me claimed. Instead I was greeted nicely when I arrived at the dinner hour, was seated in under 10 minutes in my requested area. The waitress and a trainee were very warm and efficient. Much like Cracker Barrel without the tables being crowded together or having to wade through the gift shop. I enjoyed the open face beef and it was very good. I’ll return for sure.

I am not a fan of this particular restaurant... at least I didnt used to be. It had always been a good place for breakfast nothing special. I went to the new location my family. I was extremely impressed this food was excellent it was prepared properly it came out warm it looks beautiful and tasted fantastic! They had always had great staff but even the staff seem better. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and that pork roast sandwich is the bomb! I cant wait to come back!

Love this place. Everything is so good! As a family, we really like their fried chicken meal. Breakfast is always good. The country club omelet is one of my favorites and eggs Benedict. My husband is picky on his pancakes and he loves the pancakes here. It’s worth the wait and money.

Arrived at 1:30am and was seated right away. Friendly service, Emerson is AWESOME 👍🏻😎. It was a bit busy, and food took a tad extra, but totally worth it. Will definitely be back! (Pictured: Ginghams Club & open faced roast beef)

“Biscuits and gravy with two sausage links, egg whites, and a side of hashbrowns.”I was given a complimentary extra egg whites, as the waitress also noticed my sad egg whites. I did appreciate that gesture a lot. She was indeed very nice!

Eggs done well, all was cooked correctly. Scrambled were pretty small serving for 2 eggs and were cold when delivered. They were fluffy and delicious either way. I don’t usually do pancakes at a restaurant. Theirs were fine .I just don’t like restaurant pancakes

Forgot to take a picture of my meal. Appetizers were delicious. Meal was adequate. Love their rewards program option. It allows you 20% off your first purchase and nice incentives for using the program. Only gave it 4 stars because the food was bland. Gravy was flavorful but everything else was lackluster, I know this is primarily because they have a larger older clientele but there are ways to still give flavor without overdoing it.

Very clean, open, and accommodating. Hostess and waiter (Calvinwere very friendly. The menu wasn’t overwhelming like some restaurants. However, there is plenty to choose from. I loved all of their Eggs Benedict variations. I ordered the Irish Benedict. It came with corned beef hash and hash browns. Delicious.

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. I have been 4 times and love it. Quiet friendly atmosphere. Servers have been amazing at different times of day and night. Clean and smells good. I had amazing food and generous portions. Had the corn muffins and they are wonderful being moist and warm. I also like the fact that it has a good report with the community police. Keep up the outstanding work
