Place is a trap/scam. In our haste to close out and leave for another place the waitress handed us a cup to go (our mistake to not think this out). Conveniently two cops were standing close by outside. Since our Spanish wasn’t fluent one of us went back to bar and got the manager. Immediately realized the manager was probably in on it as it was all too comfortable and convenient. Had to pay to pay a “fine” to avoid ruining the rest of our planned night. Americans beware as yelp reviews indicate this is a common scam at this bar. The drinks weren’t all that great either.

Very happy that my wife made reservations here! Amazing atmosphere and fantastic drinks. They even have hookah! We came here on a weekend and the music was simply a vibe. We would totally come back. The skulls entrance is a bit freaky, but fun.

Good place, good vibe, good food and drinks. Not cheap but not excessive. I would say at least around 500 per person for a good time.

Awesome place! What makes this place awesome is the atmosphere and the ambiance. The food is good and they have some delicious items on the menu. The reason for the 4 star over 5 start is that the service is not 100% customer focused and not the typical service you get in Mexico. Service is a little messy, all over the place and the customer is not their priority per say…probably comes with their popularity which is a little annoying and stand offish…but it’s cool to go for a drink nonetheless. They could definitely do much better on the service and be more customer centric/attentive. This might sound odd but the Volcán de Queso dessert was SPECTACULAR!I highly recommend!!!The 3 star rating is due to the service is pretty sloppy, unprofessional not attentive. It’s quite frustrating. Not sure why they don’t work on improving the level of customer service.

So glad I made reservations here! Amazing cocktails and food. We ordered the sliders, shrimp tacos and guacamole/grasshopper appetizer and they were all delicious. Way too much food for us because portions were huge. We’ll worry the cost. I had multiple cocktails and they were all delicious. Hookah was good but a bit too minty for my normal taste. Good quality and smoke though. I’d likely order without mint next time. Staff was super friendly and attentive. We never waited for service even when they got busy. I’ll visit again next time I visit CDMX. Highly recommended!

GinGin is one of the most popular bars in Mexico City. I’d give 5stars for the decor. skull-bones inspired interiors welcome you through a dark passage leading you to the main space. Consistent with the entrance, the dinning space is dark with a disco/bar guide but you can still dine from their full menu.Gin creations (obviouslydominate their spirits and cocktails menu but you can still find other loca and imported spirits (not as varied). The cocktails were ok, but not amazing.My main suggestion would be to adjust the music volume. From the time we arrived at 8 pm, the music was loud as you would expect in a disco (although there was no dance floormaking it almost impossible to talk.

Fair warning - their cocktails have almost no alcohol. Just trying trying to help my fellow enthusiasts out there. This is a common problem for cocktails in Mexico, but at these prices, they should do better.

The waiter was so kindly however a very bad experience. They wanted to sell us only the most expensive drinks stating that those were the only ones available. Then when we ordered, it took forever for the waiter to bring us the drinks.

Good gin coctails but the place is indoors and people are allowed to smoke. Be ready for your hair and clothes to stink.

Nice dim looking place, great drinks including the service. They have opened more locations now. I recommended to come here to experience some nightlife or pass through here to your next spot. The drinks are good and strong.

Food: we had carpaccio and croquettes and they were really nice. Service: not good. Slow. Had to call waiter several times for the same thing. Drinks: I would avoid this place if you really want to have a good drink. We had 3 different drinks and all of them weak. The place is called Gin Gin, but when you ask for basic Hendricks Gin Tonic, you will receive mostly tonic. Had to ask them to put more gin and they charged me double at the end and yes, brought it strong. Also, it’s super loud. So, if you want speakeasy or bar experience- go to another place.

Must visit and have a Gin Gin made by Jesus! My new favorite spot when I’m in Mex City! The lam chops are also amazing

Went here for New Years and had a terrible experience. They required that we pay in advance with 15% tip. We were there for 2.5 hours and still had not received all our food/drink.. so we just left. Drinks were weak and food was average.

This was a fun evening. We didnt order any good but the drinks are great. My wife had The Damiana (left glassand I had The Rain (right glass). They were both very good. Enjoy!!

Absolutely beautiful bar, amazing service and great cocktails. A definite favorite. Went with a group, and tried all of their Gin concoctions, the cucumber one was hands down absolute favorite. Do not miss.

Pretty awesome decor, but thats about it. The gin-tonic was surprisingly bad for a gin bar. They tried to sweet talk us into getting the most expensive gin. The service was terrible as well, we were brought an extra drink and they explained to us why the confusion was on our end. There are good places to go nearby, dont come here.

My husband and I got a drink here tonight, and it absolutely ruined our evening. At first glance, it seems like a really nice, legitimate cocktail bar - fantastic decor, nice staff. However, they totally scam you. We sat down, and the waitress came over and asked us what we like to drink. She purportedly did not know English - which is fine, and we struggled to speak Spanish because we thought it would be rude of us not to try - and tried to sell us on their most expensive cocktails. She somehow sweet-talked me into getting a spicy margarita, just so she could put in a super expensive tequila I wouldnt have normally ordered. I didnt even want tequila, but thought Id trust her since staff at a lot of craft cocktail bars often recommend drinks. She then picked for my husband a $20 (USDgin and cocktail before he asked for the menu (for the 3rd time). I was ultimately charged almost $20 for a basic drink, just because she put "special tequila" in mine. It wasnt so much the money that bothered me, but how I was tricked into getting something. I felt so conned and ashamed, it totally ruined our evening. Dont come here.

Classy bar with nice atmosphere, however, cocktails are WAAAYYYY too expensive with a elaborated (and generousgin tonic at 400MXN. Waitresses didnt provide the cocktails menu whereas we requested it. We discovered the price with the bill

This was a really cool bar. We went as a group of five, and it was very lively. The directions are awesome, and the theme of the place just feels cool/fun. Obviously, they have a wide selection of gin drinks/cocktails, but there are plenty of drink options otherwise.

Gin Gin is pricey, but serves high quality food and drinks in an amazing space. The atmosphere is energetic and the lighting is enough to see the menu, but dark enough to be sexy. The music is a great mix of retro dance and current hits. This is the perfect place to take a date or drink with your crew.

Amazing gin cocktails.You can tell the quality of food in a restaurant by the amount of choices you have in the menu. For a bar, I have to say I was surprised, octopus was fresh and delicious and the shrimp tacos were amazing. The service was outstanding.The decoration is beautiful and hip, gives you a cosy feeling.This was the first bar we visited while in Mexico and I was surprised to see that since it "is a terrace" you can smoke inside!

A trendy well-decorated bar with pretentious people, but it has cozy nooks and crevices to spend either a romantic evening with your loved one or a fun night with your work colleagues. Prices are high - so be careful.
