Italian cuisine served in earthy, polished white-tablecloth setting with multiple seating options.
Positives: The main course and the bread was delicious. It was freshly made. The bread wasnt garlic-ed up. Kaylene was a great waitressNegatives: The time that the food took was FOREVER. The place was loud, crowded and not appealing. My sister and I could barely hear each other talk. You cant even get pizza on the first floor. "We only serve it on the second floor." Well, thanks door staff for telling us that. Also, I just had knee surgery in late September. Youd think theyd make an exception for someone who cant go upstairs. NOPE!I had stomach surgery in February and thus I have to have smaller portions. I got manicotti and they "couldnt portion it." Are you kidding me?First of all, its already individual small logs of food. Plus, I could receive half, but then I had to take the other half home? Just give me the one half! And the tiramisu tasted terrible! It was just a cream and sugar lumpy mess! The pasta fagioli didnt taste good and was just a sad, gross-looking glop of soup. Were not coming here ever again. Its far too costly on top of everything else.
Love Giannis. The food was fantastic and so was the service. Gianni himself came and made sure our orders were correct and check back with us after we started eating. Outstanding customer service. Everyone was friendly and made sure our dining experience was top notched. Were already making plans to return. Making sure that all my friends know about this gem in Concord
Our server, Carly, was wonderful. The appetizer special, Burrata, was very tasty. Gianni was there and in a great mood. Fun night.
Im a regular, I always sit at the bar (Mark is amazing! Gianni & the rest of his staff are always fun spirited & accommodating! THE FOOD IS AMAZING!
What a disappointing pasta lunch. The portion was less than a child’s size, they mixed my bread in with the pasta and I found plastic stuck to the bottom of the bread. $12 down the toilet today. Vodka sauce isn’t supposed to be spicy either. Threw the whole thing in the trash. Disgraziata.
As always the pizza is amazing. The waitress was so nice.
Giannis is great. We est there a lot. The owner owned another restaurant in Brooklyn Sheepshead Bay area. Would recommend this place to anyone. Note, Sunday has a reduced menu but options are still excellent.
Place was packed but my plain pie was so so tasty.... Perfectly baked... I could taste the Love! Ill be back
Ate there back in June and was blown away by how amazing the pizza was. Just as good as the pizza Ive had in Brooklyn, NY. However, the business hours need to be updated that the restaurant is closed on Tuesdays, yet Google maps shows it being open anyway.
Pizza was perfect! Sausage, rooms and g.peppers! Very thin crust, sauce qas really great slightly sweet. Caesar salad was a bit garlicky but oh well keeps the vampires away! Nice ambiance inside, must try!
Seated at our reservation time, our server, Karley, was considerate, knowledgeable, and fun. Food and wine was delicious. Great experience! Looking forward to the next visit.
We had a little miscommunication challenge with the establishment...after our discussion, the folks at Giannis went to work and created a wonderful experience for our party...the food was delicious, the service was top notch and the friendships created will be lifelong...you all deserve 10 stars...thanks for the "experience"!
We Loved Giannis Trattoria! The food and the staff and the atmosphere is fantastic. It was a very special evening.for myself and my girlfriend as I proposed to her that night and she said yes !I highly recommend this restaurant!
Very good authentic Italian food. Great down home service. I cannot wait to visit again.
Our waitress she was ok. The food it was awesome.Garlic knots were good. Maybe not "amazing" but good.I had lasagna, it was Excellent! I believe it had sausage and prosciutto in it. My wife loved a few bites and she is Not Big on lasagna! My wife had an eggplant meal. She loved it. I tried a bite and do NOT Normally like Eggplant....though it was Tatsy! Like tasty enough I could eat it as a meal as one not caring for eggplant!!Cannoli was good but I determined cannolis are Not for me. Nothing against theirs....shoulda got a different dessert.
Wow, this is one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve ever been to! And the service is excellent. Right in the middle of beautiful downtown concord.
Outstanding...excellent...superb....none of these really do justice to how much we enjoyed eating at Giannis. The food was terrific and plentiful, and our waitress took great care of us. Price-wise...considering quality, quantity and service, it probably should have cost more. Be sure to make a reservation, just to be safe, and pace yourself as you savor your meal so you have room for a cannoli at the end!
Now, Concord is no famous for fine dinning restaurants. However Giannis in an exception to the rule. The food, and atmosphere of this restaurant is by far the best I have experienced in the 20 + years I have lived in Cabarrus county. Dinners tip try the veal... it melts in your mouth like butter. Well be back again soon.
Walked into this radiant space and was transferred in time... the decor is beautiful. I felt at home. I felt like a child again going for pizza at the local Italian spot in NY. Immediately greeted by Gianni and his beautiful wife- They understood my joy as I basked in nostalgia. Yall I hadnt tasted the food yet but I was already hooked!!! In trying to order something for myself but understanding the hungry folks I was returning to at Kodiak... I opted for true deliciousness by ordering Bellas White Veggie Pizza. [ pause for a happy dance!!] I have been looking for authentic WHITE pizza since I moved here years ago to NC... this is the first place to execute let alone HAVE a WHITE pizza!!! Needless to say this pizza DE.LI.VERED. 🍕 😋 😍 I loved the crust, cheese proportions the veggies... the pure LOVE. There was no long wait at all. I enjoyed conversation and contoured to check out the restaurant. This spot is great for solo date nights, couples night or family night out. Pizza is a love language and boy if they arent pulling out all the love!!! I was informed Fri/Sat the bar is reserved bc its packed out make sure you join the fun and do the same. Definitely plan to return again. Tell them Luvleeh sent you!
Amazing food and friendly staff. Great for date night or a place to bring the family for pizza. Do yourself a favor and eat here. You wont regret it.
Ordered the DG with baked potato salad for pick up today. I hadnt ordered from here since pre-Covid. Im sad to say that I was very disappointed. The chicken tasted as though it had been fried in old oil or re-fried. It was very dry with an odd taste. I ate one bite of the sandwich and threw it away. In the end, I paid almost $20 for a side of baked potato salad because that was the only edible thing I received.
The food here is absolutely to die for. I have been coming here for years, and plan to come here for many more. Having dined at various restaurants while in Italy, I can wholeheartedly say the food here gives them a run for their money. My absolute favorite dish here is the chicken francaise, and I think I could eat it every day if my scale would allow it. The service is always top notch. This is one of those restaurants that you should drive out of your way for.
Apparently this is two restaurants in one. First time here. I heard that the food was delicious so I had to try it. Entered thru the front door as there only appears to be one.Immediately walked into an upper class fine dining restaurant where I was immediately dismissed by the staff standing around the register in my Tshirt and shorts. One person gave me the side eye and asked me what I wanted. He must have mistaken me for some homeless person I told them I was wanting a table for one. He said "pizza?" And I said yes then he smuggly pointed to a back wall and said go upstairs. There were no stairs to be seen. One waiter graciously said "follow me, Ill show you" and directed to me to the stairs hidden behind the wall.I got upstairs and it was a whole different atmosphere. Super friendly young man welcoming everyone and directing the staff. Young waitress just stared at me and asked me for my order. I told her it was my first visit and I needed a menu. She got my drink order and brought a menu. When I decided what I wanted I had to get her attention and placed the order.A gentleman came over to check on me and introduced himself as Gianni and wanted to welcome me. Not the frigid cold shoulder I received downstairs.Waitress brought the food. Order the garlic knots and a calzone. The garlic knots were uneatable. They were super dry challah bread, even the sauce didnt help but the calzone was delicious. She never checked on me again or offered to refill my drink. I think she was new and didnt know customer service.Ill give this place a 2nd chance. Mr Gianni was very nice and truly appreciated my business And the young man in charge upstairs took pride in his work and the calzone was good but the rest of the food and experience left a very bad taste in my mouth.
Amazing food! Great atmosphere- Amber, our waitress, was excellent as well. Very friendly and enjoyable! I recommend the lasagne and 4 cheese ravioli. Delicious!
Had a nice dinner, friendly service and good food. Read the dish descriptions very carefully and youll be fine. A substitution was made without asking to our order, it was minor so not a big deal, but for a restaurant where Im spending $80-$100 per person these are issues that start to become less acceptable. I would probably return, the stuffed veal chop was absolutely amazing.
Great hospitality, authentic ambiance. Fresh made to order cuisine. Easy parking
The service was great kind of funny but very polite and businesslike at the same time we really enjoyed them. And the food was fabulous! I would say for anybody to go there and try it out its really not as expensive as you think
I ordered spaghetti and meatballs. It was okay. I love Italian, and my expectation was pretty high because I had heard good things about this place. I will give it one more try when they have a full menu. Sunday evening is a limited menu. $20/person
This is one of the best places in Concord to eat! I’ve never had anything bad there and if you ever had any issues the management hat staff will go above and beyond to take care of it! It’s truly one of the best places I’ve ever been to! Thank you guys for amazing service and food!
Pizza tasted excellent, fair price for quality.Shrimp Alfredo was also excellent, very tasty....BUT...for $27 it would have been nice to get an appropriate portion. It was more of a childs size portion than an adults. There were only 4 shrimp on it (they were big onesand the pasta didnt even cover the bottom of the container. We did get 2 very, very small (although tastygarlic knots. This seems to be a common trend in the restaurant industry...higher prices, less portion.
We were on our way to the Gibson Mill Antique Mall & we decided to get a bite to eat before antiquing so we took a chance and drove into Concord.Gianni and Heather go over and above to create the perfect Italian food experience. The Rigatoni alla Rena is a4 cheese Cream sauce with mushrooms and prosciutto & it makes you feel like you are in Italy sitting by the sea. One of the most delicious pastas I have ever tasted & I have traveled the world eating. We also tried the Margarita pizza. It tasted so homemade. Add some pepper flakes to give it a little more spice. I was so impressed with everything and I am going to recommend it to my friends on Facebook. Thank you to the staff for making our visit so memorable.
Amazing place 11/10, our waitress kailee (don’t know if I spelled that rightwas wonderful. Even though they closed at 9, they told us that we were in no rush. The Caesar salad was amazing. Every dish we got was simply perfection. The cheesecake was out of this world, and even though I don’t really like cream brûlée, it was still enjoyable. Kailee was amazing and gave very good suggestions for food, I ended getting everything she suggested and was definitely not disappointed. From the service, to the food. This place deserves the 5 stars.
We have eaten here twice and each time it was to go. I can honestly say that the dishes I have had so far have been the best Italian food I have ever had and maybe even the best food I have ever put in my mouth. I am a Concord native of 26 years and regretfully havent been eating at this restaurant for a majority of that time. You can taste the freshness, love and passion that goes into this food. The depth of flavor in each dish I have tried so far is mind blowing. Thank you so much for the hard work you put into this amazing restaurant. Truly one of the best!
I had a wonderful birthday dinner tonight! Everything was perfect! Very friendly staff!! Thank you for making my night so special!!
Im a firm believer in the adage that you get what you pay for. In the case of Giannis, this is far & away the best restaurant in Cabarrus County. The best way to enjoy Giannis is to go with plenty of time so you can savor each course of the meal. Chef Heathers specials tonight were fabulous; the servers advice was to always go for the special because you might not see it again. That was great advice. I had the shrimp aragosta and my partner had the pan seared salmon. Loved it!
Everyone here is so nice! The hostess Aydyn was soooo nice and friendly. She worked so hard getting us a table ready. We had Becky as our waitress and she was awesome. She knew the whole menu and her recommendation was amazing.Thank you both for the great first time experience!
Every time we go to Giannis, we always have a great meal. We are so thankful they made it through the pandemic. If you are ever in the downtown Concord North Carolina, you have to go to Giannis for true Italian meal. The owner, Gianni, is a great owner. He goes around the tables and asks how everything is going. It feels like family.
The restaurant brings Italy to Concord. I love the design of the restaurant. The menu looked appealing but due to an absence the menu was selective. The reason why I chose three stars was the service. It was a first time visit for me and my friend and we had slight expectations due to previous reviews. This night we often felt over looked in regards to being served. Everything was delayed and the hostess wasn’t pleasant. Maybe it was just a bad night for the restaurant overall.
The service was terrible! They were slack and not proactive at all... the owner or manager must have been on vacation. The menu was only limited to pizza, salad and lasagna which is fine, however, our waiter took long to get to us, bring us our food as well as our checks... and by the way..we only ordered a salad and a starter(appetizer). Lastly, they served our starter on a paper plate! How fancy!
Always Excellent! My wife did could not cook for Ester so we got help from Giannis! we got a tray of chicken parm and it was the Best ever! and a tray of Penne pasta with Bolognese meat sauce. everyone loved it!We picked up the food on Sat night and all we had to to is warm it up next day.
The first time we stopped by was to get some to go, and they were super busy. I loved the food but we wanted a in person dinner, before leaving a review. The whole experience was wonderful, the inside is like stepping back in time, the floors are in great condition and the space is so welcoming. Now lets talk about the food. I got the meatballs, and i can say there are no regrets. I posted a zoomed in photo so you can really get the view. The knots were fresh, and the cannoli was the perfect way to end a real Italian meal. Cant wait to go back.
The customer service was amazing! And you can smell the food as soon as the door opened! And trust the scent did not disappoint.
Awesome! I saw the reviews and I was still skeptical, but it was a win. I even asked for a taste of marinara before I ordered because I was skeptical. They brought me a small cup of it and it was delicious! We then moved to the bread which was a garlic knot style. I have had better bread, Ill say that. But the oil and vinegar they gave us to dip in was awesome, so it bumped up the dish to great. Wonderful taste and the olive oil was a definite win as it can be funky as a general rule, but theirs was definitely not.Next was salad. We got the Caesar and the house. BOTH would make me come back. I actually said Id come back after simply the bread and the salad. Both were wonderfully coated in dressing and both dressings were top notch! My personal salad was the house with kalamatas, red onions, croutons, tomatoes...and I honestly could have come, just for that. Very tasty.I had the spaghetti and meatballs, which I was very nervous about as Im super picky about meatballs. I already knew the marina was good, but it turned out the meatballs were probably the best Ive had since I moved to the Charlotte area. Very good meal, and I specifically ate half so I could try it again tomorrow. We also had some lovely wine options. I asked for anything Italian and both options I received were fantastic and spot on to what I asked for.Our server Kayleen (not sure if I spelled rightwas fantastic. She joked with us and had a great time with us even though Im sure we can be a mess to serve. Ha! We had lots of laughs with her. She also made a lot of great recommendations and we were so appreciative of her sharing of the dishes. We decided to save dessert for next time as we want to come back. I am picky about my Italian but I was pleased with this place so I definitely want to return.... tomorrow!!
I couldnt pronounce most items on the menu but one of their specials today was some shrimp, artichoke, eggplant, and capers in a delicious sauce. Everybody liked their dish. The server was extremely friendly and took great care of us. I will have to come back to try out more dishes!
This place is amazing! The food is beyond what you would expect to find in a small town. Fine dining taste but with a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere. They boast about not having a freezer because everything they do is fresh! We sat at the bar and had so much fun chatting with the bartender Mark and the owner John who was around talking and making jokes. Definitely a place we will go back to!
This is our go-to for the downtown historic district in Concord NC. Weve been there dozens of times and have never had a bad meal. The food is amazing. The wait staff is great. Gianni knows how to take care of the people that take care of his customers. Youll often see Gianni out talking to folks asking them how everything is. Its like a home cooked meal every time.
Visited this place while in town for business. I had been craving good Italian food and this was recommended as being authentic. The service was REEEAAALLLYYY slow. The waiter had to ask me twice what wine I ordered (Chianti classic... Pretty basic). After waiting a while, the host came and took my dinner order. The food was ok. It was very rich and heavy with a puddle of oil at the bottom of the bowl. The flavors were just too much as well. Ive been to Italy and this was just way too heavy. Id probably compare this to the likes of a Carrabbas. Ill try somewhere else next time.
Beautiful restaurant with delicious food! I was very pleased with their lunch prices and the portions were perfect. Service took awhile but they were busy for a Friday afternoon. The Reisling was probably the best I’ve had.
Went here during a weekend, early, and there was no wait to be seated. The seating area is quaint and very quiet for a lunch for two. The wine was good, and the tortellini was delicious. Wait staff was accomodating and came through often enough that our table wasnt full of dishes, drinks stayed full, but wasnt constantly over our table. Definitely a good place to dine for great Italian food.
Super glad I found this gem in Concord. A plus was meeting the owner who is originally from New York. His greeting set the tone for the night and I truly was not expecting the food to be as amazing as it was. Our kids were greatly accomodated. I think prices were normal for this type of restaurant. The atmosphere and decor were very authentic and inviting. I’ll absolutely be back. Maybe even to try the pizza upstairs.
