Gian's Indian Cuisine in Abbotsford

The food here is absolutely great. But. The decor is pretty lacking, not a huge deal but you expect a bit of show in what is often considered the local premiere dining hall of its particular cuisine. The service was lack lustre, the server was very unknowledeable and so, so slow. We waited about 40 minutes for her to come by so we could order more naan in an almost empty restaurant. And lastly, although no decor and initially no music- someone decided it would be a good idea to turn on the big TV facing us to play the Punjabi gangster version of MTV where video after video featured gang fights, shoot outs and outright cold executions. Im not kidding.Theres other places to get a good curry in Abby....

The only joint open in Abbotsford for some great delicious Indian food. Must visit :)

The manager was very accommodating to our requests and accommodations for my children who have sensory issues with food and numerous allergies. Overall good food, good experience.

Came here more than five years ago and the food was excellent....Came back again and had Goat Curry, Roti, Salted Lassi and more...This is one of the Top 5 Indian joints of ALL TIME with some of the BEST INDIAN FOOD EVER !!The service is prompt and respectful...The food speaks for itself and it doesnt need an elaborate review....They DID forget to add Raita and Salad for my take out order which I only found out once I got home :(

We enjoyed an excellent meal. Everyone was pleased with their choice. Portions were generous and flavouful. Well return.

Food was good and a good price, but the waitress on my visit was very dismissive when asking about allergens.Possibly avoid if you have serious allergies.

I had butter chicken and garlic bread and it was perfect, highly recommended

Have been coming here for years with family. The food is excellent, always had a good experience.Today, I ordered take out and the server tipped herself 30% on the machine before she passed it to me for payment. Guess she thought I wouldnt notice. Seems like a ridiculous surcharge for take out. Unfortunate experience and I hope it was just her.

Good tasting food with average customer service. Had to wait to be seated when tables were available while we had kids with us. Food tasted good though.

We were served 2 Naan instead of 3 ordered. Called the server within the first minute about this. She “confirmed” with someone inside who said we were served 3. Would never go back.. Food was ok. Lamb curry was good but mixed vegetables were really tasteless.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. The staff does not listen to concerns of customers. They instead prove themselves right. This was my first time going there and I will never be back. The only thing I enjoyed was the soft drink.

We are loyal customers of another Indian restaurant, Himalaya, but we were in the area of Gians one night and decided to give it a try.We got 3 mains and a bunch of sides. Palak paneer had a few measly chunks of paneer and chicken korma had 4-5 little cubes of chicken for such a big dish. Dont get me wrong -- the sauce was delicious -- but I shouldnt have to search around with a spoon for a piece of chicken. The lamb curry had a generous amount of meat, but in my opinion it was way too oily and definitely too salty.

It was very bad experience we ordered chicken tikka for our kid it was too salty we can’t even bite we complained about that even that they charge for the food terrible food never go again 🤮

Been to many different restaurants and the customer service that we got yesterday when we dine in was terrible. The staff there dont know the basic manners of greeting people doesnt even know how to smile waited for 5 to 10 minutes to get seated when there many tables empty. I donno why. Need to work on these, guys. By the way, the food was good.

Excellent customer service, super friendly wait staff and high quality food. We all enjoyed our meals and even had some leftovers. We will be back.

Food is great. However, staff is very arrogant and rude. If you ask them to do something, they will come only once after calling them 5 times.

Its a fine restaurant. Their naan bread are quite soft. I might say best cooked indian bread in Abbotsford so far.I also liked the chicken naan. Nicely madeOne of the guy working there was a little mean. For sure, he wasnt one of the server.

Best food. We are so sad we dont live in Abby anymore to enjoy this restaurant regularly, but when we are back in town its always a visit for us. Yummy!

Rude customer service!! We get if you are all booked or need time to seat the customer but there’s always a polite way to answer. We only asked how longer it will take for the table to be ready AFTER waiting for 15 mins which they initially said the wait time would be and he rudely replied that they just cleaned the table in front of us, CAN’T WE SEE IT?? Well sir we can see but we don’t know which table you are preparing for which customer. I see all tables were empty. Got so upset that we left.

The six of us had a splendid meal at Gians. The host was prompt and friendly. We took a while ordering from the extensive menu. In the mean time our drink order was taken and brought to us. It didnt take long before we were enjoying Goat Vindaloo, Prawn Curry, Chicken Curry, and Cheese Tomato. Several times our server came to be sure we were OK. At the end he brought some containers for the food we couldnt finish.There is so much more to try, so Ill definitely be back.

Not worth it. Gave boondi dhai with paranthe which makes no sense. Didnt even bring butter with paranthe. Then they brought out butter in the little package cups. If you go to any other Punjabi restaurant they have high wuality butter, better yet better paranthe. Then they charge mandatory 15% tip. Although that is said on menu. Why would a restaurant make it mandatory to charge tips?

Dont go to this restaurant, they rip u off. Went there to eat with family and when we went to pay they did not tell us about the 15% tip that they already add on. When my wife went to give tip after already paid the guy said that it was already added into the payment. We called after to find out, and we just told them to keep the money. That your restaurant just ripped us off, so screw you and never going back.If you feel like getting ripped off go here.

the customer service is absolutely horrible. These people added a 15% tip for THEMSELVES on a $200+ order without even asking us if we wanted to add a tip. They stole $30+ from us.

Worst service. Nobody came after serving the food once even after multiple calls. They even charged a 30 dollar tip by themselves even for such terrible food and service.

Service is welcoming and the food here is authentic and tastes amazing! The dishes are fairly priced, although the portions could be slighter larger.

We had lunch going to kelowna from Vancouver and the lunch was very very tasty and Mr Harsh who took order from us is very very professional and well mannered guy. We had a very good times and awesome lunch.

Absolutely pathetic customer service!Ordered salad with 3 items in main course. We were all done with our food. Never got salad and 3rd main course item. Even the glasses had lip prints on them. Girl never bothered to apologise for anything. Worst customer service.Would highly recommend if you want to spoil your mood and occasion.

Seriously some of the best food I’ve ever had. Service was super friendly, and it made my experience with my partner that much more special after not seeing each other for a long period of time. I like the atmosphere too. Will definitely be back as the cravings don’t lie!

I was missing homemade food since I was sick and couldn’t cook. A friend of mine recommended this restaurant. I ordered butter chicken, paneer bhurji and three different types of bread. We actually ate it after 40 mins of pick up and breads were still hot and fresh. Everything was delicious and the size of naan and tandoori roti was extremely good as compared to other restaurants in Abby. A bit expensive but it worths every penny. Will give it 5/5.

Ok food taste and quality. Poor service. We asked for a red wine and they brought white wine. There was no courtesy shown for their mistake. We asked for 3 butter naan and they brought 4. Initially we thought it was an extra but later realized that it was not. Directly added 15% service tip without asking and charged to our card without even giving us a copy of bill. After making a payment, realized all these when we asked for a copy of bill so nothing much could do there.

Just tried this restaurant through recommendation.You know when the restaurant is full of Indian people that the food must be great!I go by this also with Chinese food restaurants as well.Its a busy restaurant and they are hiring!The food was fantastic and the service was kind and friendly.They do deliver and you can also dine in. There is plenty of parking out front.I highly recommend this place for Indian food, two thumbs up!

On our way through Abbotsford, this restaurant came highly recommended. We enjoyed their wonderful dinner for 2, which included naan, butter chicken, aloo gobi, and added a delicious prawn korma. It’s one of the best Indian cuisine restaurants we’ve had in a long time.

Delicious. But the curries do not come with rice. Had to order separately. Still decent price. We did not choose their buffet because we wanted seafood curries. However, it took a bit too long to serve.

Went for the lunch buffet for the first time in over a year. Was totally remodeled (looks good!Definitely needed it. Food was a flavour explosion a bit of everything even had the carrot dessert I like. Lun (butter chicken, samosas, curried Lauper tender lamb, veggie dishesch buffet is on until 2pm ish $15.50 including tax.

First of all, excellent and friendly service.We had combo "c" which had two appetizers, one of which was very good samosas.Then it was very fragrant basmati rice, butter chicken, and curry lamb. All were tasty and hot.Dessert was included too, and the total was about $45.00 including tax and tip, and we both left very full.

Had the best lamb biryani till date, n Im comparing with all of Canada! The meat was so soft and the taste was just too good.

Fabulous Indian restaurant. 4 out of 5 stars because the interior is horrible and doesnt compliment the food. The buffet is only lunchtime. However, the buffet is not spicy I was told. That said I asked for extra extra spicy and it was just right. I was glad it wasnt more. Ask staff to help you order. Each item is separate. There is no dinner for one. Enjoy. Cheers!

Weve been coming to Gians a few times now and the food has always been really good. Particularly of note are the flaky, crispy samosas and the savory butter chicken. Get the Garlic & Cilantro Naan, so much better than the plain and they use real garlic - service has always been good too, and the lunch buffet is consistently tasty. Will be back!

Food is good in taste but lots of cream ( unhealthy . Same base for most of the dishes. Restaurant is not maintained at all. Tooks the dinner plates before our dinner ends . ( One person was eating and they started picking up the plates. Its a dhabha under a restaurant name. I came from Europe Germany to visit Canada .
