Bahnhofquai 3, 8001 Zürich, Switzerland, Zürich (Kreis 12)
Known as the "flower hall," this ornate police station entry hall was painted by Augusto Giacometti.
Soffitti a volta affrescati con una tonalità di rosso predominante, motivi a fiore e geometrici. Moderno come tutta la città di Zurigo.
Unexpectedly beautiful. Modern and classic at once. A must visit if you are in Zurich.
Free attraction. You can visit by presenting your ID at the entrance any day from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.mThe regional city headquarters of the Zurich police force houses a fresco by Augusto Giacometti (1877-1947that is one of the most important works of art and architecture in the city of Zurich. The paintings on the ceilings and vaulted roof consist of floral ornaments and geometric shapes, while the walls depict people at work: stone masons and carpenters represent handcrafts, while astronomers and magi represent science.Beautiful colours, very happy we were able to visit this site.
Local lindíssimo. A polícia do atendimento foi muito antipática. Pouca informação visível sobre a forma de visitar o espaço.
Sehr sehenswert. Sollte durchgehend zugänglich und öffentlich sein.
Upeita ja värikylläisiä freskoja. Paikkaan on ilmainen pääsy. Sijainti on poliisiasemalla ja sisäänpääsyn ehtona on, että luovuttaa henkilötodistuksen (1 per pariskuntaaulan poliisille vierailun ajaksi.
The lady at the reception was disgusting and yelling at us. We couldn’t see the letter at the door as someone was standing in front of it and walked in. I wanted to show my friends from Australia around but the lady at the reception was very rude to us. She yelled in swissgerman on us, as I am a Swiss citizen and wanted to explain my friends in English that it is closed due to the Streetparade (doesn’t make sense at all as the Streetparade starts only on Saturday and we wanted to enter on Friday 1pmand we can’t see it, she continues to be rude and yelling at us for no reason. This is not how she should talk to citizens and visitors. I am paying her salary with my taxes, she is in the public sector and shouldn’t yell at visitors for no reason. It’s fine to inform us that it us closed and we would have left. I hope this woman at the reception isn’t going to work for long there as is disgrace for our City!!! Shame on you! If you don’t like your job move on!
Way to the most beautiful police station, decorated with wall paintings made by Augusto Giacometti. He made these to win a painting competition by Zurich City in 1922.
Free attraction inside the police station. All you need is an ID to provide to the officer up front and they will let you in. Some amazing frescos for sure!
Einmalig schöne Wandgemälde in der Vorhalle der Zürcher Stadtpolizei. Ohne Eintritt!
Augusto Giacometti (1877-1947created the most beautiful police station foyer ever.Tradespeople and scientists form the foundation of a prosperous city. An astronomer looks through a telescope into another world.
Before visiting Giacometti-Halle I never could imagine going to the police station sightseeing. But here I was sightseeing in the police station. It was impressive so add it to your itinerary.
Hidden gem in Zurich
Its definitely interesting, but is probably a 15-minute visit. It was a bit odd to walk into a police station just to look at the mural.
A must see in Zurich, impressive piece of art and also, entry is free, you just need to give a ID card to enter the police station
Good architecture
A good tourist attraction in Zurich city, Switzerland. Worth a look.
Theyll ask you to show proof of identity at the entrance. A passport works just fine!Quite a beautiful site to behold, and free!
Everything about Nierderdorf is already pretty magical...but seeking out this hall of murals was the most rewarding adventure for me. It is now part of a police station, and so incredibly well-preserved and lit that it feels like you are in another world.
I like it
Very nice!!
Beautiful!
The history behind it is interesting. However, similar places like this allow you to take photos while here you don’t, plus you only have ten minutes and not more.
Surprisingly located inside a police station so you have to wait for somebody to buzz the doors open for you. Its a nice hall fully painted that is worthy for a few minutes.
Nice and unexpected in the lobby of a police station. Time limit 10 min, leave an ID, no photographs.
Beautiful mural, free entry for 10 mins.
Beautiful murals. Definitely worth a quick stop. Unexpected beauty in a police station.
Interesting place
Nice to see but keep expectations low. It is not the sixtine chapel
Good place
V good
Nice Bridge with a view of River
Nice place
Good
Just enter this door (its the police station), it will automatically open when you are in front of, free entrance, tourist need to show the passport, not exceedcthan 10 minutes, no photograph : .... then enjoy the arts :)
Great
The murals are beautiful, but the police man at the entrance was GORGEOUS. 5 stars for him.
This was a nice spot to take pictures and see a whole bunch of cool historical things in Rome.
Awesome
Awesome
Closed for construction from 23 AUG - 2 SEP 2018
nice place, nice painting inside. They asked for ID and allowed me to go in for 10 minutes. 5 minutes was more than enough and you are not allowed to take any photos inside the building.
The murals are amazing and well worth a quick visit. However, to see them, you need to first register at the entrance, as this is a police station. The policeman working there was rude and seemed annoyed by the tourists.
Lady at the front desk talks quieter than a mouse, and has next to no manners at all... Most of the other police officers are pretty chill though
Wow
Nice
Only groups. Its a police station.
The hall is closed. No access now.
That is the jolliest police station I have ever seen!
