Great Place. Newly renovated with very interesting and nicely made, changing exhibitions. Our Tourguide knew a lot and made the tour very interesting. Will definitely come back again!
A beautiful place where I learnt so much about Ghanas history. I enjoyed it there pretty much.
very neat, and up to standard, this museum offers a rich collection of history, it is situated in the centre of Accra. Its a place to visit.
I was not impressed. Very few exhibits.
Nice place for art and history lovers, where you get to know much more about Ghanaian history and see interesting sculptures, tools, art etc.
Its a lovely place to be and learn
Lovely place, I loved it especially seeing how much they appreciate football
A great place to visit. Its a variety actually. From educative, heritage, history.etc
Some really great historical peices on display here. Particularly appreciated the detailed descriptions and videos on Ghanas ethnic groups and their origins.
Worth visiting.
Museums fansIt’s the most important place to learn knowledge where you visit. And i’m really interested in the culture and the history of Ghana! It’s amazing at artistic works!
Very neat, spacious and airy with a well structured look.I encourage visiting her as a family activity, its free for kids and 10gh for a Ghanaian adult.Although it does not capture most of Ghana’s history.... I would dare say its a good start.
The museum is a really great place to learn about the Ghana roots the visuals are also amazing and it was interesting to learn the history.
I highly recommend a visit to the Ghana museum. I learnt so much from the tour guide who did an excellent job of keeping the group enraged while educating us on the history of Ghana. Its always great to learn more about your roots!
Learn about the history of Ghana and the diverse Cultural and traditional heritage. Art and craft, Ceremonial artifacts and many more. Must visit.10ghs for Ghanaians50ghs for Non-Ghanaians
Had a good time... Nice place to learn some history
It was a nice experience learning to know more about African culture especially that of natives of Ghana in the museum. As well as many other art works of Ghanaian great artist works. Some historical items and a lot more. You can visit as well.
Great face-lift. A lot to learn and see. However, this museum says nothing about the slave trade which is an integral part of our history as Ghanaians.
Great time
The restaurant at the newly renovated National Museum of Ghana compound has some tasty Ghanaian foods especially the Red Red.They also have on the budget chilled drinks but beware that local dishes like Kokonte and Omo tuo on their menu is not readily available.
Very nice staff and educative experience
The National Museum (remodeled)…tells the history of Ghana through the ages highlighting essential events and artifacts across various regions. The tour guide was quite boring but luckily most of the displays have barcodes which give detailed information when scanned with a phone. It was a beautiful experience worth exploring 🙏🏾.
Absolutely loved it here! There’s so much to learn about Ghana’s history and the diversities of different cultures. It’s a very informative and educative place to learn about our ancestry.
I had heard about the museum being open to the public and so I decided to go check it out. This museum is located in the bubbling vibrant heart of Accra, entrance fee was 25Cedis…you get a briefed on the museum’s concept and collection but that’s about that…you don’t get allocated a guide , you get to move around on your own viewing artifacts. The museum was recently remodeled so it is quite appealing with the lights and the spider web decor hanging in the middle of the space, there are things to see with detailed information provided on each piece of item. It’s a really cool place to be if you would like to know about the rich culture of the people, or you’re one to just explore public places…kindly check this place out if you’re ever in Accra.
Knowledgeable guide gave really good insight into the exhibits and the history of Ghana.
A very manageable exhibit, which definitely serves as an introduction to Ghana and the nations history. Clear attempts to modernise the museum make it enjoyable and interactive. Unfortunately, we picked to go at the exact moment many schools also took their students, so they couldnt offer a tour guide which I imagine would have added to the experience. Staff were really friendly and even claimed that my partner was the first Slovenian ever to visit; hopefully a Slovene reading this review will hereby be notified they are also very welcome to visit.Highlight for me was the wonderful stamp collection, and the key presented by Yugoslavia, although I admit these may be somewhat niche interests. The food at the cafe was really nice, and the staff were incredibly friendly (regularly updating me when there was a slight delay on food). We really enjoyed their red red and Yam (capitalilsed because they are so greatchips and chicken.
great effort to capture current issues as history for future generations
Very seren and welcoming environment. History bank.
Very educative. The tour guide was good.
Sam gave a fantastic tour of the collections although I had higher expectations given how long the museum had been closed for the renovations. The theme of Unity in diversity is great and they did a good job of displaying materials and examples from various regions. A nice introducing experience for visitors.
Awesome place, you feel at home
I loved the experience.Richard Ohene-Larbi my tour guide was exceptionally fantastic. My favourite from the tour was the "echo" hall.I you havent been there yet just try and see.Checkout Kwame Nkrumahs black cadilac
Culture of the indigenes of Ghana, contemporary Art....Diversity of the nation.Such a beautiful nation
Very beautiful place. Exhibitions were well curated.
The National Museum Gallery was recently opened and this adds up to places to visit in Accra. Big car park and beautiful landscape. You can do a walk in and have a guided tour. Its best to call to inform if you are moving in a large group. Enjoy the space.

Friendly interesting guide explaining the history of Ghana and Accra. The museam isnt that big but the staff made up dor any lack in exhibits
We went to the National Museum today, and it was really interesting and a good Sunday activity (especially since many markets and activities are closed on Sunday)! They recently renovated and reopened a week ago. A free guided tour was included in the price, which definitely was a huge plus. It’s mostly an anthropological history of the country, plus some beautiful artwork and overview of current traditions.
Was closed temporarily but has been reopened by the Ghana Museums and Monuments Board
Lovely to have it opened after 7 years on Friday 10 June 2022. The history of Ghana is absolutely essential to share.
First of all Kwame Nkrumahs head os broken from the statue.Broken wallsNon functioning fountainsThe place is in such a deplorable state. I wonder what happened to the entry fees
So poor. You cant see anything for now because its in renovation since 2014!!!! Bcause of financial problem they didnt finish yet. But you have a side with an tiny exhibition of 20 images of architecture of Ghana....very sad.
Very good, exhibition is in place, and stand the chance of seeing things that your grandparents use.Its a lot of fun😀😁
Not yet open as of the time of visit. Was informed that it may be opened in the last quarter of 2018. Theres a sculpture garden in the compound that has some relics that is still accessible for free while the main building is still closed for renovation.
Patricia from Ghana this is the sorry that I have for my people
