Good Quality Food.... Their Bacon and other cured/cooked meats are some of the best in SL. Great range of baked goods too... Im a big fan of their sandwiches.... esp the BLT and the Smoked Beef.... even their omlets are good too.... Strammer Max being my fave. The setting is awesome too.... nice diner style seating to dine in.... and whats perfect is the kids play area with toys and seating for parents close by..... cute rabbit hopping about too. Highly Recommend a visit!p.s. Brilliant sweet german mustard and curry ketchup!!

I had walked 9.2 km (no tuks/cabs/buses), by the time I walked into the German Artisan Bakery and Deli as it was the closest café to my final destination.I was out of water and really needed to freshen up for the rest of the journey. I asked for a bottle of chilled water to takeaway as I was too exhausted for food/a heavy beverage (also, cost cutting, tehee).The server/cashier lady could see that I was very close to drop dead. She didnt charge me for the water bottle. I insisted on paying, but she very kindly refused.PS: I couldnt get her name, which I am very sad about (I got a tad emotional, kay?!).-----Ive been a repeat customer since 2014 because of good food and service (but had not come across todays server/cashier lady before). The German owners are very sweet and always happy to have a chat with you (omg, their babies are the cutest!).Highly recommend this cozy café for all-day breakfast.Drop by next time you are in the neighborhood :)

One of the best Breakfast / Brunch spots I have visited recently. Absolutely loved their big breakfasts and generous portions of food. Why I call it Brunch is because when I ate here, I just skipped lunch and only had dinner later on. Food was amazing and so delicious, and the service was excellent. On the day I visited with my family they were short staffed, but the owners pitched in and gave individual attention to each customer with a smile, although I noticed that they were tired. Will definitely visit them many more times to enjoy the large selection of food on their menu.Great job guys, keep it up ❤️

Pleasant place for coffee/tea chit chats. The staff should be much more careful in how they go aboutWhen having a cold during Covid being present. As they are food handlers. Continuously touching mask & face is not done.

Ive been here a couple of times and I am pleased with what they have to offer.Your meal is made to order and so you can expect freshness. They also have a good selection of fruit juices as well which I always have with my meal.Although parking is tricky right in front, there is parking on the side.

We had cinnamon rolls here, something Id been looking forward to having during my visit to Colombo, but they turned out to be very dry. The iced coffee was okay. While we didnt try anything else here, I wouldnt recommend a special visit for either of these items.

Amazing place! Good customer service and food is good. A tad bit on the salty side for me because I don’t eat much salt at all but the omelette and bread were delicious.

We visited here for breakfast but it was an average place. Food was ok nothing too great or perhaps we ordered the wrong thing. The omlette was the best out of what we ordered. Coffee was ok. The place is kid friendly and theres a little play area as well.

Love their Cinnamon buns, its topnotch and affordable! Just a healthy walk away, so no guilt trips too! I had the Beef Bun , so scrumptious !

Absolutely love this place. Nice variety of bakery and meat items. A great option for breakfast or brunch. Now they have a play area for kids with toys which makes it the perfect place for a sunday morning family breakfast. Keep up the good work!

I cannot comment on the food because we were disgusted by an incident which took place. This review is only an advice for the bakery to follow.Visited today to get some bread during noon hours. A well dressed woman was in front of us. There was a basket of bread on the counter. The loaves were not covered or packed. This woman without any 2nd thoughts went ahead and touched a bread, she held it up and asked the cashier what the bread was! She didnt even buy it, she put it back.Knowing the terrible behaviour of some Sri Lankans, you should not keep fresh items without covers or keep them at reach. Put them inside a glass cabinet if this is too hard. The cashier should be able to tell the customers not to touch food. Covid or not, its really not hygienic. This is common sense people should have, this is unacceptable behaviour. Knowing these things are possible in Sri Lanka, despite what the social status is of the customer, you should not display food in this manner.

Fantastic customer service and the most delicious buns in Colombo! With every bite, you can truly taste the quality and the care that goes into each product. The sandwiches are delicious and the coffee is full-bodied and strong. Great place for a meal or for bread supplies!

The bakery items were average. The cappuccino was excellent. Priced same as the 5 star hotels.

A cozy little bakery plus cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. A good spot for some sandwiches and coffee. They have tea too. The meats for your sandwiches and salad is on display. And the yummy breads and the aroma is inviting. There was a small section for kids activities. Here you go mums with little children, a nice spot for you to take a break. Parking could be an issue, but most food outlets on Thimbirigasyaya Road struggle with that.Their sour dough bread and rye bread are popular. And of course, their breakfast!

Best breakfast spot in town. Love their cinnamon rolls, egg salad and hot dogs. A variety of cured meats, pastries, bread and preserves are available for purchase. Service has been pleasant and consistent through the years. Well done, TGB!

Always love their stuff. Smoked Salmon on Scrambled Eggs and Rye Bread was really great. Try their honey mustard sauce along with that.

Terrible service from your staff at 3.15pm on Saturday Decenber 7. Please make sure that they greet new customers properly and dont be rude to mixed marriage couples. Dont be racist and rude. Youve just lost future customers because of your attitude.

I have been going here since the early days. Their food and beverage quality is exceptional and has been consistently good. If you have time to sit down and have a hearty breakfast their omelettes and gourmet sausage selection is just amazing among the many other things they offer, and without a doubt they bake the best bread in Colombo. Top that off with the coffee they serve and you have yourself a good start for the day, with a fresh cinnamon roll just off the oven of course. The bakery / cafe is run by a young couple and the staff are friendly and pleasant.

We love the place and come here all the time. The food is great and the staff are very attentive. No complaints except for one.Went today after a break of a couple of months and was dismayed to find that plastic straws are being served with the drinks. Hoping the management sees this note and changes this situation ASAP and switches to more environmentally friendly options like reusable bamboo or steel straws. Thanks!

My go-to brunch restaurant in the city! Everything they offer is delicious and is very reasonably priced.Be sure to try the spicy beef sandwich or the roast beef sandwich. The cinnamon rolls are also to die for 😍😍 They have a variety of home made sauces etc that you can take home

I came here specifically to buy its bread, which is very good. A loaf of multigrain is 400 rupees. Not cheap but very worth the price, for its taste, freshness and softness.

The Bread Company (as it is commonly referred to), is a chefs haven for steaming fresh bread thats baked in-house every day, fresh and cured cuts of various meats from salmon to pork, and probably the tastiest home-made sausages in the city.Theyre a family-owned business and the bread-making usually commences in the wee hours of the morning. So if youre looking to purchase their loaves fresh out of the oven, turn up at around 6:30 AM.

Went there on a weekday. The place just had a couple of guests. The indoor seating is available for upto 25 people. The ambience is good. They have a soothing music running in the background. The staff are friendly and speak english.You have to place your order and pay first. They have cinnamon rolls and varities of bread that can be bought off the shelf. They also have a collection of jams and teas off the shelf.The immunity shot was refreshing. It has a hint of ginger in it along with orange. The roast chicken sandwich and chicken hotdog were good too.

Pleasant place to stop for breakfast. Some of the best home made pork sausages in Colombo can be bought here to be cooked at home.

Really delightful little place. Something really nice about being able to walk into a place at 8 am on a weekend morning and enjoy some really good food. I had The Ultimate pancakes (2 thin pancakes the size of the plate with treacle in the middle, topped with shredded, fried chicken and two eggs sunny side upwhich I loved. It was packed today and there was only one person bustling about so service felt a bit off but thats ok. The sunshine was pouring in, the cafe, cosy, people chattting and reading newspapers so it felt nice.

Delicious food. There is a All day breakfast menu available and its quite good. Also the service is quite fast and pleasant.

Amazing sandwich meats sausages and bread. Easily the largest hidden gem in Colombo. Highly recommend everything in the shop.

Love the breakfast. They have great homemade sausage. The belly pork sandwich is the best id say. Its a great place good crowd. Average would be about 900 rupees for a breakfast. I recommend this place without hesitation.
