Ate here on an August Sunday afternoon as a family of five (plus dogafter a walk into and around Leeds Castle grounds. Decor is very "pubby" rather than modern gastro-pub. Very large Sunday lunches (we had beef and turkeybut also a wide range of mains (salmon, ribs, scampiand starters. Great selection of desserts (syrup sponge, jam sponge, apple and rhubarb crumble as well as the ubiquitous sticky toffee pudding). Also a shout out for a lot of cask ales (first time I had seen draught Bishops Finger for a few years), and cocktails. Bustling atmosphere and friendly service. We all really enjoyed our meal here and would return.

11 years since Ive returned here with my wife and it was absolutely lovely! The reply for a table on Facebook was instant and the service was fast! Also would like to point out that the food quality was very very good for the prices! Well served and the presentation was top notch 👌

Arrive early for Sunday roast, we got there at 3pm and they were out of beef. So had lamb again.A seriously long wait for starters and mains and each dessert when we ordered was sold out. My friend tried for creme brulee, lemon sorbet and ice cream, all sold out. Really? The saving grace a compensatory fruit salad and crayons.I have raved about portions (still hugeand brought friends to get that "traditional pub feel" very close to the castle. however this being my third visit, the wait (people were someone how getting their roast before us!is the reason I have edited to 3 stars.Free parking at the back remains a bonus!

Excellent quality food. All four different meals were of a very high quality and reasonable price. They have Bishops Finger on hand pump and it was excellent. House wines reported as good. I only partook of the 🍺.

Great menu and genuinely tasty home cooked food, attentive service but not too much. Very nice expresso martini but price not displayed which would have been useful.

I recently visited the Maidstone area, and was recommended to visit a pub called The George Inn at Leeds village which is on the same road as Leeds Castle, I went late afternoon, and the food was superb, with good ales too, the landlord Jason was brilliant as were the staff, and the locals were so friendly and really made me feel welcome, I would probably say it was the best couple of hours spent on my own in a pub ever !If you are in the area have a look....

Landlady very stuck up, we went in for a few beers after a days work, yes we might have been a bit loud but we was doing no harm, I got told to stop swearing in the most obnoxious way you could tell she did not want us apparent riffraff in there, we had 3 pints each and some peanuts at the cost off nearly £50, you would think they would be happy for the custom but obviously not, needless to say we won’t be going again, steer clear of your working class going in work clothes.

Really nice, welcoming pub. We had a meal there and the staff were helpful and efficient. 🤩The food was well cooked pub grub. The batter on the fish and chips was crispy, the fish pie was yummy and the veggie burgers were filling. 😋👍🏻 Chips were good, and the cheeseboard at the end was enormous with a great selection of cheeses! Just be warned the portions are very generous- you should be hungry when you arrive...😁

An old pub with a pleasant dining area. Theakstons Old Peculier was on draught, which is rare and was a bonus. The food was good. The initial order for drink and food was taken in reasonable time and the main course was served quickly. We had to wait some time for the sweet order to be taken though, and not because the staff were overstretched, which was a bit annoying. Overall though, it was an enjoyable visit, and I would recommend and go again.

Had lunch here today. Faultless. Superb food and really friendly service. Shepherde Neame so beer wax obviously excellent. A beautiful interior. If you are going to eat here be aware of one thing though - the portions are VERY generous! Best not to eat any crisps or snacks before you order! 😁

Great food very popular especially at the weekend. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. The only drawback is the parking, we ended up in the church carpark, bit of a walk but well worth it

I had the vegan curry at the George Inn today, it tasted amazing, great colour, rice, chutney, naan and popadom. Not cheap at £12.95 but I was happy to pay this price. Unfortunately there are no vegan starters or desserts so I cannot comment on those. Its a really welcoming, well run pub, warm and friendly.

Had a lovely lunch on our way to Leeds Castle. Staff were very welcoming & we received our drinks quickly, there was plenty of choice on the menu. Our food was served promptly & was well prepared (cheese ploughmansand well cooked (veggie burger). The food was well presented and delicious. I would definitely recommend.

Lovely pub and restaurant. Often eat here with friends in the nice garden out the back. Great portions and never had a bad meal after many many visits. Highly recommended.My friends little dog is also a big fan of this place and is often passed tasty treats when we eat outside.

We had a lovely meal here at lunchtime today. The 3 of us had different meals: beer battered cod, bbq chicken, cheese and bacon burger and the steak and ale pie. All were beautifully cooked and piping hot. The landlord and his staff were attentive (but not overlyand very friendly. A great pub with lovely food and atmosphere.

Very popular pub/ restaurant. You must book to ensure a table. Varied menu with daily specials. Superb food and generous portions, no poncy dishes here. Well kept beer but a Sheps pub . Well run pub with hands on Landlord and Landlady with cheerful staff. If you visit Maidstone this is the place to eat.

the food was lovely but we was left waiting for ages for service. We was seated to our pre booked table outside with our drinks but had to wait 30 minutes for menus to be brought to us, then a further 20 minutes for anyone to come and take our order. The food came out in 10 minutes which was tasty. We was there for 2 hours in total which was a lot more than we anticipated. I understand if we got forgotten about because we were outside but it’s a bit redundant having an outside table area if it’s going to be forgotten about and leave us outside having to come inside to remind the staff we want to order.

This is a nice village pub which has developed a bit into an eaterie with a garden. We just had a couple of drinks but the other customers seemed to enjoy the food, we had good service and the prices are reasonable.

We stayed at Leeds Castle for 1 night and this pub was at walking distance (15 min each way). Service was superb and we had a good time. We had the steak pie, the gammon and a starter plate, everything was tasty and big portions. Free wifi was available and san Miguel on tap. They had high chair for our baby. The owners served us themselves so you can imagine the treatment was really good.

Lovely staff. So friendly and helpful. Food is gorgeous and huge portions. Breaded brie bites, chicken Korma, tuna melt with raspberry gin and coke. All amazing and superb value.

Was recommended by staff at Leeds Castle. Staff were lovely food was amazing and so much. Service was great. Cant fault out visit at all. And so nice to see a landlord and landlady working with staff in their pub. Would definately come back .
