George's Burgers in Bairnsdale

Georges Burgers are the best by far using good quality ingredients. Thankyou for our regular shopping day fare, my regular order is one with egg and double bacon. We have been missing your business since Covid and we are going through severe Burger withdrawal symptoms.

Waiting for them to re-open, but I know when they do it will be worth it. Amazing food, quality food and always worth the money.

Lamb souvlaki I rate it 95/100. A little expensive but not too bad. Overall service was good.

First time at this place. The hamburger with egg and bacon was good, but the price difference between that and a plain burger ($4 extrais not justified.Its a busy place and the wait was around 15 minutes, but the staff were very friendly.

Spruiked as East Gippslands oldest and best burger joint Georges doesnt disappoint. The 20 minute wait on a Friday night creates anticipation of something good. I ordered the tofu burger on wholemeal so I can tell you that the whole menu is a sure thing because thats an easy burger to stuff up and they nailed it. Fresh and flavourful, anyone who says this place lacks value or flavour has no understanding that bulk isnt best and needs to kick their sugar addiction (Im sorry but its true). Filling without feeling stuffed. This is old fashioned food and service with a contemporary menu and something for everyone. Yum!

Long time fan of George’s hamburgers but sadly they have gone down hill dramatically, way over priced for what you get.

Disappointing Souvlaki....a hot day nice thought, but lamb was fatty and chewy. Not worth $15. Stay home for lunch next time.

Stopped in after a work function. Food was absolutely amazing.Only downfall was my work ate ordered food with no tomato, as he gets gout, was given extra tomato so he couldnt eat.

Staff were friendly. However, had a burger with the lot and it lacked flavour. Patty had little to no seasoning. Basically tasted like plain grilled mince.

Friendly, efficient staff. Classic hamburgers/chicken/vegie/tofu, steak sanga, souvlaki, milk shakes, prepared fresh. Great for a Sunday night on the way home. Even did a delicious gluten free burger with the lot (but without the bun!).

Cannot beat a classic hamburger shop. The range is what you expect at a classic takeaway store, but I feel the main attraction is the burger with the lot. You can order on the phone ahead of time, which makes lunch for tradies really simple. Would recommend this place to everyone.

Ok for for a quick bite, burgers are average quality and high price, but it beats being hungry or going to the golden arches.

When passing through Bairnsdale this is a must stop. We did find staff enthusiasm a little flat but burger still delicious. Well be back.

Georges is a good little takeway shop in Bairnsdale. They do a nice malted milkshake that washes down your burger very nicely. Service was friendly and competent.

Tasty, old school burgers. Conveniently open at 1000 for breakfast when passing through town.

Wow what an outstanding burger shop. The best takeaway shop around. Amazing good. George is the owner who took over from his parents. It opened in 1954. Very reasonable prices. Excellent value for Monday. You will not be disappointed.

Their burgers are better than McDonalds

Burgers were amazing, it was quite busy when we went there and had to wait 40 minutes so Id suggest making a phone order during peak times.

Ive grown up with Georges Hamburgers and damn they are good. The service is always friendly and their food is delicious. Definitely worth going there for a filling lunch after work or for a great meal at the end of the day.

Have never had a bad burger from Georges. Sometimes there is a wait but its worth the wait 🖒🖒

Food & drinks did not match their rating ??? Milkshake was weak, burger with the lot had no flavour, sloped together, if the chef/s ate their own food they would realise there is more to creating something tasty than just a bunch of ingredients.

Took ages to make chips and they were gross, oil tasted bad and chips were just overlooked. $7.00 for not very many chips.

Takes forever. We waited 65 minutes for our burgers and chips. We went there because they did not look busy and we were in a hurry (neighbouring shops were fairly busy). They werent that busy but still took ages to get food out. To top it they were expensive but the burgers were nothing special despite being expensive. Really disappointing.

Worked for them, lovey people, very proper. Fresh local ingredients everyday, cut clean and neat. Amazing food, worth the wait and price! Note: they are a hamburger shop so their fish is straight from the freezer for those who want it. Please dont complain if its crap because you are at a hamburger shop not a fish and chip shop

Ive been enjoying Georges burgers for over 20 years.They have only improved.(which is obviously annoying the opposition)Well worth it for what you get.Pity about the limited hours these days, get one while you can.

You people of bairnsdale are deprived, for the same price in trafalgar thier is a burger called the Brendan burger, and absolutely craps all over this shite!!!!!!Dear BKs employee. I remind you, Georges have been open for business 30 Years and going strong without a stupid tennis racket advert either. pfft.And P.S. You might want to let your bosses at BKs know that just because a burger breaks a tennis racket, doesnt actually mean its a good burger, in fact it alludes to it being so hard and inedible that it breaks things upon being tossed across a room and that it stays intact tells me its old and stale otherwise the contents would be dropping as it flew across the room.
