George's Bar & Grill - Bar & grill in Conroe, United States
Really good burgers.
Great burgers. Enjoyed Watching the Braves game here.
Gr8 burgers and and family atmosphere. Also plenty of televisions to watch sports.
Old school, cold beer, good burgers and friendly staff. A+
Great neighborhood place for a burger, beer, etc. Patio and indoor seating. Friendly servers. TVs to keep an eye on the game.
Rudest staff Ive ever encountered in Georgia. Do not bother, brunette hostess has no class and zero idea what hospitality is all about. Was denied a seat at a four top because I was told there was a private party when three other tables outside were clearly not part of the party. Of course, two guys just sat down as I walked away. Im also a regular which is even more outrageous. Place is a total dump inside anyways but you just gave me a reason to never come back.
Location A+. Beer, very cold. Food, drink first. Just kidding, the Turkey burger was fine and the french fries were hot and not over salted. I dont do red meat but there are plenty of other options. They used to have a fish sandwich but probably didnt sell well enough to keep it on the menu. I met George a long time ago. He called me to come look at the fireplace in his home.
Neighborhood gem. Great service and food! I recommend the burger and fries
Their burgers are so goodSo. Good. Love it here! We always get the vegan burgers and they are stellar.
Great food and great service! Always a pleasure
Burgers were excellent!! I will be back to try all!!
Came here on a Friday night a hr before closing and miraculously got food.My friend recommended getting a burger since I guess that’s what the establishment was known for.Our server was friendly, patient and knowledgable. I had trouble deciding on a burger. Upon recommendation between two difficult choices I went with the lamb burger with onion rings which were also recommended over the tater tots.Good draft of Guinness, perfect head and fresh from the tap.I asked for my burger to be bun less and most importantly medium since it’s lamb, it came closer to well done truly disappointing. I was afraid of asking them to make it again so I just ate it. This is not a Gastropub. They also brought it on two buns which I just didn’t eat. Good thing I only have a gluten sensitivity or else I would’ve had to order a salad. The onion rings were however delicious the batter was perfect and the sauce given with it was condiment nirvana. However after four large pieces I had to pace myself and stop eating the breading… 😕 I do have to maintain my figure. My friend had ordered a burger and tater tots and seemed happy with his food. I tried a few tater tots they were good too but onion rings are definitely better choice.Maybe I made a mistake in what I ordered as a burger?Overall I’d say this makes it into the Top 10 burger places in ATL but not the Top Five.
Really, really good burgers. Had a mushroom swiss 1/4 lb burger (med. rarew/ tots. Burger was cooked perfectly. Tots were super crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside - fantastic! Very attentive service.
This is your burger joint/sports bar to go to. Always on point, fair price, good vibes.
Georges has been and will continue to be a neighbor favorite for our family, but they are currently having a real problem with staffing. Last night was hopefully a one off... Perhaps the worst service weve ever had anywhere. Food was fine.... Just prepare for a very long wait and to be understanding of a staff in transition.
How could you not love a low-key, divey bar with great burgers and the best onion rings on the planet? Oh yeah, and they have beer too.
A hidden neighborhood gem. The food doesn’t have any particularly unique twist. In fact the opposite, it’s exactly as described and priced at a bargain. If you are looking for just a good ole local pub, look no further.
I would have left 5 stars, but Im confused about something my waiter did. To his defense, I came to this bar to have appetizers while waiting on my friends to arrive at an oyster bar across the street. They were running late, so my girlfriend and I decided to have a small snack while waiting on them. Ive waited tables before, and told my girlfriend I was going to leave a $10 trip since we were ordering such a small amount of food. When I asked for the check, the waiter brought it to me, but wrote FU at the top of the receipt. Maybe this is code for something, but I think he may have been saying FU to me. If this was innocent please clarify. I only left a $3 tip because of the FU at the top of the receipt. Burgers smelled good and Id probably have come back to try them if this hadnt of happened.Ps I posted a picture of the receipt in question.
Haven’t been here in 20 years and it’s still as good… One of the best burgers around!
Very great food and service. I had the burger and it was excellent.
I completed training working there, and The Owner is Kind. There are health conscience items on menu in addition to munchies, also great quality of meat or non meat availability.
Absolutely delicious! We ordered the black bean burger and the veggie burger because we couldn’t decide which vegetarian option to try, so we went with both. They were super tasty, the veggie burger was more mushroom forward. The black bean ended up being our favorite, however, as it had a bit of a spicy kick. The tots were also honestly some of the best I’ve ever had - perfectly crispy and light. The price was incredibly reasonable and the portions were generous too. We loved the little outdoor area out front. All of the staff we saw were wearing masks and being very covid safe. Overall, a wonderful experience and we will gladly return soon.
That black bean soup is perfect! A great spot for a cold beer or my Jameson and ginger ale. The service is kind and efficient!
Georges Bar & Restaurant you are really remarkable, I had a lovely experience here today. The pricing is reasonable. They certainly have a miraculous menu too. The crew was really welcoming and service is wonderful. Phenomenal addition to neighborhood.
Great mushroom swiss burger. Tator tots were perfection. The onion rings were the best I have ever had (very crispy). And, dog friendly on the patio. Definitely will be back.
Cool bar in a great part of town. I normally carry out and it’s the best burger that I’ve had via takeout. Also get the tots and onion rings!!
We’ve been going to George’s for years. It is without a doubt our favorite Atlanta restaurant. If you are searching for a hometown bar feel, amazing staff, and the best burgers and fries in town, look no further. Also... do not sleep on the buffalo wings. They might not have made it onto any lists, but speaking as a wing connoisseur, they are among the best wings I’ve ever had.
One of the best burgers bin ATL. Great slaw, if youre into that kind of thing. Lovely service. Patio seating. Highly recommend.
There is a reason this place has been around so long - phenomenal food, incredible service, great prices and atmosphere. The burgers are top notch but I also can’t recommend the Reuben enough. A great neighborhood spot.
There were 8 of us on Sunday afternoon - Serena took amazing care of us! Had wings, hummus, salads, burgers, chili and beer! Everything was very tasty! Our burger picks ranged from black bean to beef to lamb! Everyone was pleased!! Great local place no surprise that it has been around for a long time!
Good bar food and atmosphere. Ordered the burger and it was juice but unfortunately not exactly cooked to the temp I requested. Nevertheless, it was good.
The burgers were fantastic! So glad we stopped in at the suggestion of some friends. The service was great and the staff were all friendly. Well definitely be back here.
This place is an institution in the Virginia Highland neighborhood. Ive been coming here for decades. Cool laid-back spot and a great patio. And the absolute best burgers in Atlanta!
Terrible service. First waitress never returned after we asked for a minute to look over the beer list. Had to flag her down. Her shift ended and second waitress was just as bad. Chatted with a customer for 10 minutes while we were waiting to order beers. Had to call out to her to finally get her attention. Then, to top it off, the cook came out and started loudly discussing his political views in the dining area.
Fantastic Place to eat a great burger and people watch while drinking fantastically poured drink. Management may want to review camera for early morning activity before opening, didnt like what I had seen.
A Virginia-Highland classic. I love the classic old school bar atmosphere and great location in the heart of VaHi. Good burgers and attentive service. A significant upgrade from Moes and Joes next door IMO.
Ok so I was there with my fiance on a whim... they were celebrating the first day that a man landed on the moon... had some 50 cent wings that were absolutely phenomenal.. but not only that... the service matched the food that was served.. I will be back again and I hope this post finds someone that will have the same experience
I came here on a Monday afternoon looking for a good burger and was not disappointed! The service was very, very fast, and polite, and generous (the whole experience took no more than 27 minutes). The fries were better than good, and the burger was honestly one of the best Ive tasted. I was pleasantly surprised as I took my first bite! After finishing a great meal, the entire experience was less than $10! I will definitely be coming here again. Georges Bar & Restaurant is giving Yeah Burger down the street a serious run for their money.
Ive been going here on Thursday nights for 12 years to drink post-run beer. The burgers are decent and the beer is cold. Check out the baklava if you like that. Its a solid neighborhood joint.
We absolutely enjoy walking to our neighborhood Bar/Eatery.We are regulars who enjoy the hamburgers, salads and salmon sandwich. Chili is a favorite of mine. The bar is amazing and so is the staff. You won’t be disappointed.
I love this place! Very laid back and inexpensive. Food is typical bar food, but better quality. Service is spot on— very relaxed, but on top of it. We got tots as a little snack and added queso on top of them— they don’t go skimpy on the queso! Every tot was covered! And you definitely get good portion sizes. Drinks are good! I wish their beer selection was a little more extensive, but other than that, 0 complaints!
Love this true, original Virg-Highlands restaurant and bar! Great food, fun atmosphere.
Great neighborhood spot in the middle of the Highlands. One of the oldest bars in Atlanta, this place always offers a good time at a fair price. The food is good and the beer selection is consistently broad and interesting.
Our original dinner plans fell through on NYE, and we went here. It was pretty good. The burgers, onion rings, and chicken tenders were all good.
A neighborhood institution. Friendliest staff, easy going atmosphere and really good bar food. Sit in the back bar for the peace and quiet of a dim corner, or in the front window booths to watch the neighborhood traffic flow past. They also have a sweet sidewalk patio for nice weather.
Love this place! The servers are great, the food is tasty, the beer is cold. Kids menu and outdoor seating available. One of my favorite local joints.
Nice, locals type bar with a good beer selection as well as reasonably priced pub food. Knocked off a star because the chili was a bit hot for no warning restaurant fare. Being from the New Orleans area I like spicy food but honestly with no warning this wasnt what I was looking for. That having been said would happily revisit but would ask in advance about the chili before ordering again!
I have been going to Georges for many, many, years. It is an old bar/rest. that dates back to the 1950s. However, it is best known for its hamburgers which is why I continue to go there. Its hamburgers are always rated to be in the top ten year after year. If you want to step back in time and enjoy a good hamburger this is the place to go.
Went with a small group, all of us first-timers. We are all last-timers now, too. A friend ordered a cup of coffee - she didnt order the lipstick on the dirty cup it came in. Her sandwich was extremely salty. My tea tasted like diluted dishwater. I suppose it all complimented the sticky table. There are far better pubs with great atmosphere and excellent food in Atl to choose from.
Great burger, even at well done. I have this unusual affection for well done meat, which usually means bad food at restaurants if I order it that way, but this place gave me a delicious, expertly cooked, well done hamburger. Props.
