Geno's Restaurant in Muncie

This is the Best Pizza and place in Muncie. They never let me down and the service is pretty good. The Pizza is my favorite.

Walked in, planning to place a takeout order. Spent 10 minutes looking for someone, anyone, that might make this happen. Literally never saw a single person who worked there and finally left hungry.EDIT: This happened around 5:30 pm.

We have Genos a try when it very 1st opened and it was the worst experience ever. 1 year later we gave it a second try. Night and day experiences. Staff is great, service was great. The only thing that stayed the same from our 1st experience is great pizza! We will definitely be back! If you tried them when they 1st opened and havent been back, youre missing out.

We had a executive meeting here. Atmosphere was nice, server was excellent and attentive. We ran a lil past closing and staff wasnt bothered at all, very nice.

We have been there a couple of times since it has opened and every time we go it has been delicious! The only thing that seems to be a little short on would be the service. I feel a more consistent method of training would help in the long run.The pizza is delicious, the lasagna is delicious, the fried pickles were good and of course the beer is always great and you cannot beat the price on their pint.

Pizza is good. Service was decent. The prices especially for the appetizers are outrageous. 6.50 for 4 breadsticks is ridiculous and they were mediocre at best.

One entrance is locked. When you walk in they had a sign please seat yourself. Then when you walk into the dining room/bar we were approached by a lady that asked us how many in our party and then seated us inappropriately. They were out of 2 different beverages. Then the waitress came and asked What we would like to drink. We said we were deciding she left and never came back. After waiting for 20 minutes we got up and left.

My family and myself were super excited to try Genos. The only thing we ordered that worth anything was the breadsticks, salad and water. The beer was flat, the pizza tasted like it came out of a box. My husband and myself got chicken Alfredo, didn’t even eat half of it, and left a whole pizza on the table. Almost crapped my pants when they handed me a for $90.00. We won’t ever be going back!

Nice atmosphere and staff, but the pasta was lackluster and WAY too expensive. Smallest portions I have ever seen. Appetizers are overpriced and not that good. Would not recommend.

Order a chef salad she asked if we wanted ham or bacon on it and there was no cheese it was just a salad with green peppers little bitty pieces of ham. We ordered up 14 inch supreme pizza for $19.99 and it had no green peppers no olives all that had was onions mushrooms sausage little pieces of ham and pepperoni.just be careful what you order asked questions cuz its not what they got on the menu

The pizza was terrible and crust was hard. The beer was warm and the waitress shorted me on my change. Wont go back

Food is EXCELLENT. I had looked at the menu before going and was leaning towards the stromboli...when I got there several friends had already ordered and that is what they got...the second I saw it I was sold. Didnt even need to open the menu in hand...Hands down one of the best I had experienced. My wife had the pizza...personal size...she doesnt eat much...she eats like a bird. However, it was gone. I didnt even get a bite...that in itself tells me something about the food. Especially with how picky she is all the time.Beers...LOTS of options here. One of the best variety of options I have seen in a long time without just having everything under the sun like most places do. They thought this drink menu through and it was well put together. Got a few samples and had some good results in the end.Now lets get to the entertainment...one guy on a guitar on and awesome outside patio area...non stop for like 3 hours. Unbelievable...amazing talent...worth the visit in itself. His name is Randy Spencer. #musicbyrandyspencer. You should check his stuff out. Easy to find on #facebook. He came down from Fort Wayne. I guess Muncie is his hometown. Said he is gonna try to make this a regular stop.He is coming back November 17th and we plan on making it back in for that without fail. I think we might be in again before then anyway...I loved the stromboli, but I actually want to try the pizza as well.I highly recommend this place as a destination if you are in or around #muncie and the #ballstate area. You wont be disappointed by any means.

This place could be great if they put a little more effort into it. The Chicken Wings were very good and so were their fried pickles. Poppers were OK. The facility has all of the right things to be great.The issue here is that they seem to be tired of trying. The wait staff seemed really tired and bored. There is extra furniture and clutter stacked by the front. No enthusiasm for the project.A little more effort and this place could be hopping.

Still working out the kinks, I guess. Spaghetti came with no sauce! Had no sweet tea (and regular tea was not "freshly brewed," despite what menu saidand waitress said she didnt know how to turn on the pop machine!But pizza was really good!

Food was ok. They need a bigger outside area. We had to wait to b seated outside. Will not stay if we cant be seated outside when its nice out.

Pizza was pretty good. The service was lame, we got there 10 mins before they opened b/c some1 turned on the open sign early. They sat us anyway, at a dirty table. Had to wait forever for refill. Also, ordered a pepperoni and sausage pizza and it came out with no sausage (ate it anyway). That aside, its a new restaurant and the food was decent. GENO, step your service up.

Service was great! Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. My reason for three stars was the pizza...its billed as wood-fired and my previous experiences with wood-fired pizzas yield a crispy crust. This crust was limp and soft, but the overall taste was good. Will return to try other things

I had the BBQ Chicken pizza it wasnt bad but not a lot of meat on it at all, I had 2 slices of a 14" pizza that had no meat at all. The taste was good but wouldnt be my first choice for pizza.

Went for lunch. Place was clean. First thing I had to do was ask the pizza cook if we were to seat ourselves or wait to be seated. No one in the front entry to greet us. Cook went and found someone to seat us. From then on it was all good. We had an excellent waitress, Miya. Very nice polite young lady, was able to answer any questions we had. Very good server. No problems with the service at all. We thought the food was good, we each ordered a different pizza and had the BBQ wings as an appetizer.When we were finished we asked for box’s to take our leftovers home. Miya was very prompt in getting everything for us and asked us if we wanted refills on our drinks to go.I gave this 4 stars because it was our 1st time there. We will try something different next time we go.Not disappointed at all.

The entertainment was amazing...the pizza was fast and freshly made...the breadsticks are definitely some of the best ones id ever had! The staff is beyond great and friendly. Definitely one of the best restaurants we have here in Muncie. We will definitely be back soon💚

If you want pizza 🍕 this is the place to go. The ravioli and chicken fettuccine Alfredo 🥘 is a failure and it taste like T.V. dinner food. The restaurant is clean and has a good atmosphere. Check out the bar while dining here and be sure to ask about all their options on beer 🍻The peach apple cider is 🍑 a wonderful 🍎 choice. I give Geno’s a generous three because of the bar and the selection of beer they offer. The food would be a two unless you choose to get pizza.

I wouldnt give this place one star..but I am..the tables were dirty. And when I was finally seated. No one ask me what I wanted to drink. And the waitress wanted to just socilaize with each and the place was busy and everyone around had there food and orders taken. After I sat for about 10 mins. At the bar the employees just wanted to socialize with each other. So I will never again go there.

Sorry but this visit was very disappointing. We ordered mozz. Chz stix which were timely and hot but the meal went South from there. The two sandwiches we ordered came out very cold, even the cheese was refrigerator cold on top. We will think twice about a return visit. They were not even busy and it was a Friday dinner hour. The picture is what we left.

First trip and had a great dinner of wings and pizza. The only small issue I would note is the inexperience of the waiter. Well be back.

Our pizza was under cooked, the replacement pizza was burned. They need to learn how to control the wood fired oven. We left hungry, since the pizza was inedible. We will not be back.

Zero stars is appropriate, but thats not an option. They apologized for the pizza before they ever sat it down. It was burnt to a crisp. Ive been to several other wood fire pizza places before and they were not like this, which they claimed it was supposed to be like that. We had a party of over 20 yet they had one server for us, not her fault. She did the best she could. However, the Manager was rude and not helpful whatsoever. I nor my family will ever try it again.

The food was ok but they need to get their act together. Our pizza didnt have the right toppings on it. We ordered a speciality pizza straight from the menu.

It took 2.5 hours to eat here because they couldnt figure out how to work the card machine. There was no apology from the staff or management - just "we are working on it." We had to miss something I had tickets for because of this.

Our first time there was opening night the waitress was wonderful and the pizza and breadsticks were so good . we went back again i had their cajun shrimp alfredo loved it my better half the stromboli sandwich he liked it definetly recommend to give it a try

We have been to Genos several times. Their wood fired pizza is great. The beer and wine selection is awesome. The staff are all very friendly. I definitely recommend Genos!

1st visit, recent opening, worth a try...but, the following review is how it went down, from the eyes of the customer.Pizza, in Muncie, has tough competition in town, however, the train came off the tracks in the lobby.We were welcomed with we have a couple big groups tonight, youll wait a while for your pizza, unless you get your order in quick.The follow-up to that was our incorrect pie (14" being delivered to the next table over, just after they say down, and they were even surprised. The girl who delivered it sat in front of the pickup counter during our whole visit, and in an hour only contributed by being uniformed about the order she was to serve 10 feet away. Needed more time to double check the order vitals maybe?After 20 more minutes, our waitress stopped by and was shocked we werent informed of the mistake...but they were correcting as quick as possible.Our standard try a new restaurant test pizza, as a large, 16" pepperoni pizza had 2 or 3 pepperonis per slice, was hurried through the oven, hadnt risen at all and was tough to tear bites off. Red flags couldnt have been more clear, back in the kitchen, that this pizza had issues.An minor error just became a train wreck.I went to look for the manager after it appeared the waitress wasnt going to follow up. When the waitress did arrive, she agreed, as did the manager who was quick to remedy, and we were excused without paying, and politely accepted a gift cert for a free large, pepperoni pizza on the next visit.The other 3 pizzas which passed our table, to guests who arrived after us, looked great (like they shouldwith some burnt peaks on the nicely fluffy dough bubbles, and featured ample toppings. Not sure what their flavor of pizza is supposed to taste like though.The problems here are process controls, communication, follow-up, and the little details. If a better pizza came out, all wouldve been forgotten, but the worst case scenario arrived at the table. If they resolve those issues quickly, then theyll make it a few more years, as the bar in the back may compensate for an average taste and nothing special atmosphere.

This place literally sucks for a pizza parlor. I thought coming here would be a great idea, but boy was I wrong! I literally order their Jalapeño poppers and they were cold, it seemed like they got them from the grocery and just microwaved them. I had also ordered pizza and I said extra pepperoni and I barely got any. Also when I left the pizza place I saw all the waitresses up at the front lounging around. Whoever is running this pizza parlor is doing an awful job, they need to step up their game before they have no business at all.

I was looking forward to a real Italian place in Muncie. To my disappointment this is a confused amalgam of a sports bar and a pizza place with too many staff to know what to do.Our food was meh. The salad was what I’d expect, the mozzarella sticks were ok, and the breadsticks were good enough. Everything had a store bought taste though. If I wanted take and bake items I could do that myself.Then there was the pasta. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. I was given what seemed to be a child’s sized serving with two tiny meatballs. Considering it was $1.50 to add those meatballs I felt cheated. Now the sauce was the most bland pasta sauce I’ve ever had in a restaurant. It seemed to lack any seasoning, and tasted like a Light Spaghetti sauce. It was pretty abysmal. For the quality of food we received this place is way to expensive.Our waitress was very pleasant though. The other staff left something to be desired. They were all rather loud at the bar, looking bored, or running out the back patio door every 5 minutes to smoke. Since we got blasted with cold smoky air every time they did this we noticed.I wish this place could have been the authentic Italian place this city sorely needed, but alas...this is what we get. I won’t be returning unless I hear of some drastic changes.

The waitress was nice and on the ball as far as the food went I got the spaghetti and the sauce tasted canned like a can Ringos my wife got the meatball sandwich which was very generous with meatballs the meatballs had good flavor and texture. All in all I would say try it but I dont think we will be going back

Excellent craft beer selection and great pizza. Its better than pizza king!

This was are first visit to genos. The interior design was rustic fun and very well done. Are service was awesome and Victoria are server very knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable. The food was spot on we started with wings and bread sticks, they were delicious I want more. Then we had a pizza meat lovers oh my goodness its great. Im looking forward to going back and enjoying the experience again. Thank you for your hospitality.

Great Pizza! Horrible Service! This place has real potential, dont get me wrong. Give it a try, the food is worth the somewhat bad service! My wife and I were seated at the bar, it seemed the bartender was the only waitress in the area. This was a Saturday afternoon. People were trying to get her attention asking where their food was. She took our order, came back and said she forgot our order. Okay things happen. She puts the orders in. The people behind us have a mistake on their bill, their order was messed up, long wait for food. Then we get our bill and were overcharged. There were plenty of greeters in the front, surely someone couldve taken some tables and alleviated some of the pressure of the bar tender. Thankfully she was able to straighten out our bill and get our order right when she took it the second time. But the quality of the food was excellent!

The restaurant is too bright for one. One cook I seen needs to wear a beard net. Cant tell who works there some have tee shirts some dont. Wait staff is inexperienced they need more training with public.

Wow,I would give this place a few months to get their act together before going back.We went tonight and they were out of pepperoni (Not that big of a dealthere was a 45 minute wait (again no big dealbut there was over 8 empty tables and they wouldnt seat anyone at those tablesVery poor communication with their patrons and lack of organization by the staff.This is too bad, this place is in a good location and has great potential.Very disappointed

Great prices, clean place, quality food and beer and wine...

I ordered a plain cheese pizza. It was perfect. I had a side of Italian dressing to dip my crust in. We were sat at bar top tables which I hate and it was kind of like a community room with the bar. It wasnt private in anyway..and its ok if that is what you are looking for... would be good for game days...or groups... will be interested to see the seating area on the other side.

Overpriced for the food quality and quantity provided. Cost was not justified by the atmosphere and decor, looks less homely than MCL... maybe they should have started with a smaller place and expanded if they succeeded. Table was dirty, fork had food on it from previous customer. I got a new set and then after dinner I looked up and 2 cooks were eating out in the open in front of the brick ovens - while wearing plastic food serving gloves. Ug.The chicken that was served to me appears to have been a frozen patty with grill marks, heated up and then sliced. It was definitely not the texture I was expecting and unfortunately, I would have probably been more pleased with Fazoli’s.They should have had their act together before opening the doors instead of beta testing on the public at launch. They need to get up to speed immediately or expect things to fade away quickly for them. I hope they can and will get up to speed - maybe I will keep an eye on the place and try back in 6 months.

Ate there Saturday evening. Not that busy. Was seated promptly. Two other tables were seated after us and had been waited on with drinks served and we hadnt seen a waitress yet. Asked a waitress who was serving our table and she said she would check. A waitress came and said she didnt see us. Really? Ordered drinks. Waitress did not bring drinks to our table. She was on the opposite side of divider and placed them on the divider which we had to reach to get them.

Our waitress was awesome...but that was the only good part of the experience! Pizza had little to no toppings. A frozen pizza would have had more to it than this one. Their pastas are the size of a never endin pasta refill from Olive Garden. The side salad was lettuce, cheese, and tomato. Just really underwhelmed by this place....will not be returning.

This was our first trip. Pizza was great and the service was good. Theyve only been open for a short time so people need to be patient. New restaurants need time to find their groove. Ignore the bad reviews...try it for yourself before passing judgement.

When they took us to set down the table still had food and dishes on it. The floor had trash in several areas. They wanted to charge $5 to make a pizza half one type and half another. Breadsticks were made of some type of whole wheat not good at all. Very skimpy on toppings only one piece of chicken per slice and very few onions very thinly sliced. I would not recommend this place.

Food was just ok...nothing special and over priced....i ordered a side salad with our pizza and was very small. Not sure what look restaurant was going for but aside from a couple of small pictures and t-shirts nothing about it says Italian/pizza parlor.....waitstaff although pleasant seemed very inexperienced.t....we wont be back.

Barely any pepperoni and sauce. I dont think you could make a thinner crust. Really didnt have much flavor except where the shake was. Breadsticks and cheese were just ok.

Still has an office like atmosphere and food was so so. Breadsticks were good and our pizza toppings were still pretty raw like the center of the crust but the outside edges were borderline burnt. Pleasant staff though and would certainly return to try other menu items.

We came in tonight at 7 pm and they told us it would be a 25 minute wait. No problem right? 23 minutes later a hostess told us shes sorry but theyre going to go ahead and close. This really happened. I will not be back. This place is doomed.
