Stylish option with upscale teppenyaki grills in smart surrounds, sushi rolls & specialty cocktails.
Always a great experience. I highly recommend the filet mignon cooked medium!
Food was so salty you couldn’t even eat it. They forgot entrées but the food was so horrible we didn’t even try to get them to cook what we ordered. Took almost 3 hours to get food even though we had reservations for 6:30 PM we didn’t even get food until 8:30pm. The best part of the meal was what we ate off of the kids plates which was chicken strips and french fries. By the time we ordered they were out of food they only used three eggs for fried rice to feed 11 people which once again was so salty you couldn’t even eat it. Overall we will never go back again
This was our first experience at Genji and we will absolutely be back! The food was excellent, the experience was incredible, and the price was not bad. We have always gone to Kobe but we were all in agreement that this is a better bang for your buck.
Once again, Jeremy has done it. A fabulous experience of the creations and entrainment of the Genji staff. Alex, a proven veteran of the staff has made his way through the ranks and is now flashing the hardware of a true Genjian chef. Good was cooked to perfection and the interaction was superb. Hats off to everyone in the house tonite. Ill see you again.....soon!
The staff here is absolutely amazing! I sat down at the bar and the bartender (Joshimmediately greeted me and had recommendations ready just incase it was my first time visiting. The chef (Tylerwas so personable and energetic. I would definitely recommend this place for not only the food and drink, but the amazing staff. Will be back.
show was about a 7. food was super soy sauce laden. all the meat tasted like a salt lick. veggies first. 5 minutes later rice. 7 minutes later strip steak. around horn. 20 mins later chicken. ive been to better places where show and food was worth the price.
I ordered a filet combo, the chef (Alex I believeaccidentally gave a guy at my table medium rare strip steak instead of the well done he had asked for and whatever thought process was going on, he took half of my filet and gave it to him to fix it and went and got me a strip steak to replace my filet portion he gave the guy. When I said "wait, why" he said I was going to get a free steak to fix it. Initially I thought the additional strip was for the gentleman and a filet replacement would come after, but that wasnt the case. I dont understand why he thought giving me a cheaper cut would "fix it" and why giving the other guy filet would also fix his well done mistake, when I had asked for my filet medium rare anyway. If he replaced the filet with a filet, it wouldnt be an issue but replacing it with a lower quality, cheaper cut that was SO dry and tough to eat makes no sense. It was terrible and I was done with my meal once he dumped cheap rubber that I didnt ask for onto my plate. So I got about 6 pieces of my actual order but only ate 2 once he dumped cheap strip all over it. Our server was understanding and didnt get why the chef did that either and comped our bill. That was our first time at Genji; Kobe and Osaka are better in food quality, entertainment, and common sense.
MUST READ!!!!!! Go to KOBE!!The server was great!! She did every thing right!!The cook ok the other hand, the food was extremely salty. The chicken was not cooked fully!!!!! Basic food handling needs to be trained. People come for an experience and trust that one will not get sick. Bringing kids and all the family now we are wondering if we will be sick over it. Failing in the basic needs of what a restaurant should be in regards to food handling and adjusting to your audience in your so called jokes would be common sense you would think. The server and the rest of the staff were amazing. Train the cook, think as if would I want them to serve my own mother or father or children before setting them up to serve the public and represent your restaurant. The server 10 stars!!!!!
Enjoyed my Birthday dinner there with Family & Friends last weekend, our Server & Chef were excellent 👌
They messed up our reservation so we had to wait an additional half hour. Then they were understaffed so we had to wait an additional hour before the food. The cook was awesome though
Absolutely amazing experience! It was our first time here and let me tell you they did not disappoint! It was so much fun! Fast service wonderful staff and Chef Rick was amazing! Will be back!
My first hibachi experience. Our waitress, hostess and chef were very polite. The chef was funny and a creative cook. Drinks are affordable as well as the food. Highly recommend !!! Top quality.
This was our first time at Genji & my family and I were very impressed. They had a very clean environment, very friendly hosts, and great food. Our cook, Junior, was absolutely amazing! He gave a great presentation & he was very attentive to all 8 of us. We recommend to everyone & we will all definitely be back plenty more times.
Took the family here for my sons birthday. While we usually enjoy our night this time was much different. We sat at our table over and hour waiting for a chef. Was told the chef we got was there best but he barely spoke and everything he did was basic. The food was pretty good but we were so ready to just leave that it really ruined the birthday. Not sure we will select Genji the next time..
Not impressed. Had a reservation for 7, were told to come at 8. Told them we are celebrating our daughters birthday, they offered nothing. Table we sat at was not really clean. Service was very slow, cook was not really in the mood to "put on their show" ( unlike the guy at the next table, maybe because they had 8 guests and we were 4), didnt even ask if we wanted dessert. Overall disappointing experience - if you want this experience, pick another place.
Went with family to celebrate my birthday! It was hard to decide which was more fun-the man cooking at the table or watching the grandkids watch the the man cooking!
Nooooo run away as fast as you can.Reservations do not mean you will sit down anytime close to your time slot.It is loud, beyond any reason.
We had a great experience! Our server was friendly and quick and our chef did an AMAZING job and was super funny! Def will be coming back!
Amazing! Will 100% be back. Superb service and food! And so much fun :)
This place is AMAZING!! Went there for my first time a couple weeks ago and loved the low light and peaceful atmosphere. It was really clean, and the staff and food were awesome!! They chef made all of our food right in front of us on the hibachi grill and he had quite the personality with food tricks. Tossing shrimp to see if we could catch it in our mouths and more. I had the chicken teriyaki and fried rice and it was so delicious!! I will be going back!
It was our first time here, and we wont be returning. From the hostess, to the bar tender, to the waiter to the chef. Every single individual let us down.Hostess- seemed irritated and short with us.Bartender- made great drinks but when he spoke he was mumbling/whispering and would get mad when asked to repeat or would just walk away.Waiter- was very kind and mostly good, forgot our edamame and we were told we would get shrimp as a part of the meal and we didn’t.Chef- to be fair we were told after that it was his first table ever, so he was nervous. But he made a tasteless joke about if my husband and I were celebrating a divorce. Then was quite the rest of the time. The food was over seasoned, the chicken tasted and had the same texture as the frozen chicken you get from sans club. The chef dropped half my veggies before reaching my plate and never got me more he just discarded the dropped veggies.I came for sushi because google said they have sushi on their menu -they don’t.Like I said it was a bad experience all around.
Best experience 1st time there we went for my daughters birthday fantabulous service frm evey1 working thanku
If you can swing the prices, you can never go wrong eating here! Staff is so amazing. Drinks always topped off (if you want), the chef remembered my husband and I from a year or so ago, and the food is soooo good!
Took my grandson here for his birthday. We had kayla as a waitress. Told them we were there to celebrate his 8th birthday. Reminded them at the end we were there for his birthday. Had multiple people there for birthdays around us. and they got the umbrella and sung happy birthday to. We came last year and our waiter did it for my 2 year old grandson. Disappointed they didnt do it for him he was looking forward to it.
Excellent food and fun service! Our group ordered different meat for each meal and they were all cooked to perfection.
It started off well, then took a left turn really quickly. Our original cook just up and left but the bar tender/ possible manager came and atempted to explain what was going on. Over ALL it ened alright.#dontbesensitivesir
Showed up for my daughters 18th birthday celebration and the manager was completely rude. Said they only hold the table for 5 minutes. We arrived 4 minutes after that time. At this point I’ve had genji many many many times and have never had this happen before. The managers attitude about was something I’ve never experienced before. Just a smug smile, like an oh well smile. The GM Jeremy will be hearing from me about his attitude, this is completely unacceptable. I would never not show compassion to someone…but it was the smile that bothered me. I can’t help but wonder the reason behind it. But I am determined to find out.
Food was great even though they ran out of potstickers scallops & Salmon RICK you were awesome!!! Made réservations & we still waited 2 hours
Great time. Chef was amazing. Food and service is great
As others have said in reviews food is good about like the rest but the entertainment is well worth choosing this place over others. Definitely a fun experience.
Last night was our first time going to Genji and we were blown away by our experience. The food was absolutely amazing and our chef Oscar was hilarious throughout the whole night. He put on a show the whole time and we had so much fun. Cant wait to go back again!
I don’t even know where to begin, my family and I have been eating at Genji’s for years and over the last few months the service has taken a turn for the worst. Tonight was finally the last straw, the Manger Jermey was very rude and had a spicy attitude. As we checked in he told us that we were supposed to be there 15 minutes prior to our reservation and he had to wait a literal hour to be seated! STRIKE 1! Then once we sat down and ordered appetizers they took 40 mins to come out.The appetizers were great especially the dynamite shrimp. Our drinks also took an a while to come out. Once our drinks finally got there the cook took an additional 20 mins to come so we had been there for a total of 2 hours before getting served. When he came out his cart was under prepped. They ran out of noodles and our whole table had order noodles. There wasn’t enough eggs, rice, chicken, or vegetables on the cart. The cook was great and the best part of the night. After we ate another cook opened the door beside our table to store his equipment. There was a huge hole leading to outside! We were so disgusted (pictures in review). STRIKE 2My Aunt asked one of the servers that was walking by for something and before she could even ask he smacked his hands together and threw them in the air. Once he was confronted about it he acted like he didn’t do it. When it was brought up to the same Manger (JERMEYhe said nothing. STRIKE 3! Tonight was a horrible experience and we will never eat there again.
We went for a Birthday Celebration. Party of 10. Antonio was our cook and he was awesome. Most of us liked our food here as well. We did however have egg shells in our rice and my daughter Chomped down on a piece of steel. The cook acknowledged the steel and said he knew exactly where it came from. I decided to call Genji and have tried a couple of times. All I received was a recording so I have not talked to anyone yet. We spent over $300.00 here and would like to speak to someone about the steel and egg shells in our food.
The food is absolutely delicious. It was an awesome show the chef put on. Ive never been disappointed going there. Would recommend.
Good food fun atmosphere, just what I would expect from a Japanese steakhouse. Good prices as well. I have easily spent almost twice as much at other places in the past for 2 people entrees, appetizer, and cocktails.
Let me start by saying my kids and I LOVED the grill experience. Our cook Brandon was extremely personable, very funny, engaging and was great with keeping everyone involved and laughing. However the service from the wait staff fell very short. Somehow at our table they forgot to give us the 3 section sauce cups. We were already almost done eating when our cook noticed and hunted them down for us. We were 1 fork short for the table so my son and I shared a fork the entire time even after asking multiple servers for a fork. Most of our drinks sat empty and at one point a member of our table returned to the waiting area bar to get drinks refilled. My sisters Crab Rangoons never showed up untill an hour later after she reminded 2 different servers. When the cook was done, he left and said our server would be over soon. We sat for almost 20 minutes with no one bringing our checks. We finally flagged down a server (not oursand she attempted to split our checks. Our server finally showed up and took about 15 minutes to come back with checks for us. It was the longest 3 hour dinner of my life. Also our checks were a mess. After explaining to 2 servers how to split them, we all ended up paying for others peoples items just to be able to leave because we didnt want to wait another 15 minutes to leave. We had a 6pm reservation and showed up at 545. We didnt get seated until after 7.10/10 would go back for Brandon.2/10 would go back based on service.
Always love this place great food great customer service and I love that some of the staff recognized me from when I worked here years ago!
One of our favorite places to go to celebrate. Excellent service. Tasty food. Runs like a course meal with soup, salad, and main course served as it is prepared by a trained entertainment cook. Only thing to avoid is the kids steak. Not sure why but it always turns out dry no matter how we order it. Truly love every other thing weve eaten there.
Genji is the quintessential dinner and a show experience. We had the pleasure of Chef Oscar cooking for us, cracking eggs and jokes as he skillfully grilled, sliced, and flambéd our dinner. It was a fun experience for our entire family group, and we enjoyed a delicious meal. We appreciated the playfully competitive interactions between chefs as well. Each meal comes with soup and salad. The salad is a typical iceberg lettuce mix. The most exciting part was the ginger dressing. I personally did not like the soup (I think it has a beef broth, which I am not partial to), but other people in my group did enjoy it. I think the soup and salad are understated menu items and could be improved. We enjoyed a sampling of appetizers, testing out dumplings, egg rolls, and fried calamari. These were absolutely delicious, and I highly recommend trying calamari. It may surprise you that you will enjoy it!The filet mignon (steakwas cooked to order, the chicken and shrimp were plump and tender, the salmon (with both soy and teriyaki sauceswas well-cooked and flaky. The vegetables were cooked through and had a nice bite. The steamed rice was easy to pick up with chopsticks and the fried rice was perfectly seasoned and mixed. The noodles were also delicious. Basically, you can’t go wrong with just about any meal choice.Overall, we had a great experience. The meal was delicious as well. We will definitely be back for other special occasions in the future!
I really enjoyed the food and our chef. The best part is when the waitresses sang, "Happy Birthday!" I would definitely go back.
Was an Ok place, made a reservation but still had to wait 30 min for a table. Our Group had a bunch of hood rats that would not shut up and was being very vulguar and was rude and disrespectful to our chef. Made for a very unpleasant night.
Really great experience! A must do for a special loved one! I took hubby here for his birthday. It’s a 5 course meal with small soup, and then salad then shrimp, then rice, then meat! I got the strip steak my favorite but hubby got the teriyaki steak and it was my new favorite! Great customer service will go back. Bill was 68 for the two of us, besides tip and tax (oh and p.s when we go back we will just get the smoothies instead of the wannabe alcoholic drinks! They tasted good but No alcohol in there for the extra cash spent lol
The food is really tasty and the service is great! I love that this is a dinner and a show. It’s definitely worth every penny spent. I came here for lady’s night out for my birthday. We all agreed that this was an awesome experience! We had very full belly’s with boxes in hand when we left. The steak, chicken and shrimp are amazing! The miso soup is the best I have ever had! I think the people there work really hard to make sure you have a great time. If I could say anything for improvement it would be that the chairs and some tables could use updated or fixed. The waiting area when you first get there could use a good cleaning. The bathrooms could use an updated look as well but overall clean. All in all a really great place! Take the family or your friends you won’t be disappointed.
We had a huge party (24and they seated us quickly and each group had a great show and meal. We frequent these restaurants fairly often and the vegetables really stood out among other places we’ve been. I had the tofu and it was delicious.
I made a reservation about 2 hours before we needed to be there. The server was good and the cook was entertaining and very good. Very friendly staff and great family atmosphere. I will return. 2 drinks, sampler appetizer, and 2 meals ran $75 so bring your $$$.
The food was really good, and portions larger than I thought it would be. This was my first time at a place like this, and it was just right. Our chief was really good, but didnt over do the show part. He did some really cool stuff, but wasnt just gabby all the time. I really liked that. I would highly recommend this place, and cant wait to go back.
We frequent Genji and tonight celebrated three birthdays with 20 people in our party. Timing and placement were great, our tables and chefs were in sync so everyone could enjoy together. The food was amazing as per usual and we has so much fun!
The guy we had made our night was talking making everyone laugh and feel comfortable and was a great show around. The food was absolutely delicious and not bad prices either.
Awesome tasting food. Very entertaining. Good service. Try to catch the shrimp!
We called in to make a reservation at 8 pm. Finally were seated at 8:42 pm. Awful hostess we had to ask to remind her to bring the food that she forgot multiple timesChef was rude to the hostess, unacceptable in front of customers.Lots of garlic, unhealthy, unequal portion sizes. And quality control. Loaded with butter, soy sauce, salt. When did potatoes get served in a Japanese steakhouse?Overpriced for quality and the bad experience overall.Go to kobe
