The bloody mary was more seasoned than the food.

Nice place, good staff, good food, but clean the HVAC vents in the dining space. When I see fuzz balls of dust clinging to those I worry about what is clinging to (and flying off ofthe ones in the kitchen.

One of my favorite brunch places. A lot of your comfort brunch foods, done well. Staff is usually pretty attentive and friendly. You can usually get a seat right away too. Highly recommend!

Skip the hype spots and eat breakfast/brunch here. You might have to wait a bit, but its worth it.Friendly service, great Bloody Marys, and excellent food in fairly large portions. A great place to kill your hangover.

This has been my favorite brunch place for years but no longer. When my mom visits from CA I always take her here first. She loves the food and bloody Mary’s. Unfortunately I had to tell her upon my last visit, the bloody Mary’s went from stellar to undrinkable. It had no flavor in n the mix, and was mostly thick tomato pulp texture. There’s improvements to the food but it’s no longer my favorite brunch place. To be fair most places in Portland make horrible bloody Mary’s and drinks in general. Too much fresh horseradish, too much acid without a balance of sweet. I would love it if managers would take some feedback and go back to what works.

Super tasty brunch spot. Not a super long wait on a Sunday, they have vegetarian options and the meat-eaters in the group said it was the best country fried steak theyd ever tried. Definitely on the list of places to go to over and over! The only downside was that it was pretty loud in there, but not a deal breaker for us.

This place is WONDERFUL! Food is delicious and servings are plentiful. Staff is friendly and quick on the coffee. Also courteous in checking in. Space is very well utilized and decorated. Lots of fun things to look at. Music is "kinda" loud for a Monday Morning breakfast (my only criticism). Cant wait to go back!

Fantastic food and extremely friendly staff. Server was very patient and helpful with our group that included a little one.Its a very home-y space and the single missing star is for ambiance. But thats no reason not to eat here!

The food is good, not fantastic and the service is pretty spotty. We didnt get our coffee topped off at all pretty much. They also took a very long time to take an order. I guess they were having a staff shortage of some sort. The ambiance is pretty minimal and casual.

Solid breakfast spot with great tasting food, and an amazing list of vodkas to use for your Bloody Mary orders!Service was also top notch. We will definitely be coming back to try some different bloody flavors!

We chose this place because we didnt want to wait at Pine State and were so glad we did. Weve been back three times: the food is delicious, the servers are great, the cocktails are awesome.

I had GF French toast, total treat since I dont have alot of GF choose back home. My companies were a little disappointed by their eggs and vegan sausage.

The Bloody Marys really were fantastic. Those reviews were why I selected Genies. But I was not prepared for that vegetable hash. Hands down the best hash Ive had in a while (which says a lot given hash outs one of my favorite things to order at a loved restaurant back home). We dont get to to Portland for breakfast often but I know my husband will love this food. The servers were fantastic too. All around great experience.

Great Bloody Marys and Mimosaa. The food so delicious and beautifully plated. A bit of a wait on Sundays due to the pandemic and being short staffed right now. But it was clean, with friendly staff, and amazing food! Well worth the wait time.

These people are on top of their game. We came during a busy Sunday brunch and they were slammed. The servers are very attentive and quick to please. Thank you for amazing breakfast! You all deserve a raise

My husband and I came to Genies for the first time today. I saw a photo of Genies bloody Mary and knew we had to check it out. And boy, we were not disappointed.The homemade bloody Mary mix was hands down the best Ive ever had. The jalapeno bacon, I would die a happy woman if thats all I had to eat for the rest of my life. The pickled veggies were also delicious, I could cry over how satisfied I am right now.Our breakfast was also something outside of this world. Omelettes were jam packed with meats and cheese. Genies potatos were so crispy and perfectly seasoned. The french toast was heavenly.And the staff were amazing! Service was some of the best Ive experienced before.Again, I could cry over how satisfied I am right now! Thank you Genies Cafe!!

Great food and great service. We would stop-in here often, almost every time we were in the area to get hair cuts. The coffee they serve is always consistent and delicious. We sat down for breakfast a couple times and loved it. The servers were amazing and very helpful and were very accommodating to try to get food out quickly to the kids. Love this restaurant.

We really enjoyed our first visit here. Its a bit loud for my comfort, but we were at a table smack dab in the middle of the room. The food was fantastic, I had avocado toast and my partner had the veggie scramble. Unfortunately, I always have special requests due to dietary needs, and servers were very accommodating, and friendly, consistent and prompt. We will be back, a lot.

Food is absolutely fantastic! One of the best corn beef hashs I have had in a long time.Definitely adding them to our weekend rotation.

Incredibly good food! I went here because I saw they had white chocolate chips for their pancakes and they absolutely did not disappoint! I also had one of the specials, which was a pulled pork Benedict on top of puff pastry. Poached eggs were perfect.Great, friendly service.

Weve only been here twice, but both times the food was delicious! It didnt take too long for the drinks and food to come out. I ordered the biscuits and sausage gravy most recently; great sized bisquits and you also get a couple of eggs and potatoes :also, if youre wanting a good cocktail, their peppermint patty is great.

Great customer service, breakfast options are plentiful and delicious 😋. I had the biscuits and gravy which was on point. Wifey had the Spanish scramble with chorizo, she was impressed.

Workers were nice, came by multiple times to get more coffee and water. Everything came efficiently. If you want to choose between the scorpion and the Carolina bloody Mary, go with the Carolina. Little cheaper, better flavor. Unless you really want the scorpion that tastes like nothing. Photogenic at least. Everyone are their food and seemed to like theirs enough. French toast I had had raw notes throughout it. Wasnt super sweet and if you wanted it to be, of course you can pour the whole tin of syrup on itPlace did seem very very loud for only a couple handful of tables. Acoustics are quiet bad, felt our conversations usually opened with, huh or what.

Went here with a large-ish group and they accommodated us all. Amazing staff, helpful, funny, and friendly! The food was good, and I had a seriously crazy cocktail with an actual scorpion on top. xD

Better than the average diner around town. Not everything is GREAT, but most are very good. Benedict’s are always among my fav. Large and creative Bloody Mary menu. Bright sunny south facing windows create classic vanilla brunch-y atmosphere, despite sparse decor. Consistently good brunch spot at decent prices.

Best brunch, delicious chicken fried steak with mushroom gravy and backed potatoes. The jalapeno bloody mary is the best in Portland!!!

Good food. Good vibes. I really dig that theyre willing to sub filler carbs for more nutritious sides such as fruit or cottage cheese or salad. While their prime time busy hours happen on the weekend brunch times, Ive taken to their weekday breakfast to avoid the crowds and feeling rushed while I eat - or show up early on weekends.

So tasty! We went on a Thursday at 10am and had zero wait. The portions were sizable, the drinks were tasty and the food was so good! Do yourself a favor and get a biscuit. Impressive Bloody Mary’s and pint-sized mimosas.

Small place but plenty of seating. We went on a Sunday and didnt have to wait more than a minute around lunch time. Friendly server and very attentive. I think she refilled our water every 2 minutes. (Hangovers, am I right?Which brings me to their pride and joy. Their bloody Mary. Tons of vodka flavors to choose from. I had the bacon bloody and it was really good, but my girlfriend had the horseradish bloody and it was amazing! The food was good too, we had eggs Benedict. Almost too much ham for my taste but solved that quickly. The lady next to us was hammered, at noon... So you know the bloodies are strong.

The wait was long. But the food was worth it and the service was spot on. I will be going back to try something different. This time around I had a cheeseburger, it was good, Ive had better at a place in my local town but it was by such a small margin that it doesnt effect the rating. I may change this to five stars at a later date upon a second or third visit. If consistency holds it will go up.Thank you for the service and the food.Went back again about 2 months ago when a was waiting for a friend and had an hour and a half to kill. This time the wait was about 10 minutes. I got over-medium eggs, toast, and juice. It was very good. (Side note I hate juice but will drink it because health reasons, and it was one of the few times that I didnt gag at first taste).

Had the prime time Benedict from the specials sheet. It was so flipping good! Service was also 5 star!

This has been one of my favorite spots for breakfast. I ordered the breakfast burrito and was not disappointed as it was huge and filled with so much flavor. The staff is respectful and friendly. Our waitress was on top of her game. I, unfortunately, did not get to try their Bloody Marys but I heard that theyre some of the best.

Came here for the vegan options, which they have many! I ordered a coffee at the front while waiting to get seated. I came in during a busy time. Food is worth the price. Cute little hipster cafe, seems to stay busy. ❤️

Solid choice for breakfast or brunch. Go early if you go on the weekend as it will get packed quick and the line will be long. The Bloody Marys are what set this place apart. Create your own or choose from an extensive list. Great food with a daily special list that never disappoints. The daily specials are always changing to keep things fresh and new. One of my favorite go-to brunch places!

Nice hole in the wall with friendly staff. A bit of a wait on the weekend but the food was great. Infused vodka for your bloody marry. Had the catfish Benedict. It was the bomb! Chicken fried steak was delicious. I would definitely eat hear again.

The food here was good and the coffee was decent. The entrance is a little weird though and its easy to find yourself ordering To Go if youre not careful. However, after we were seated, the staff was friendly and quick to serve. They have a good amount of options on the menu and youre able to make choices vegetarian if needed. Additionally, they were happy to work with my dairy allergy.

Great place for a hearty brunch. The service is quick and the menu has all of your brunch favorites. I had their biscuits and mushroom gravy. It was delicious and I highly recommend it. I left feeling very full.
