Genghis Grill in Kannapolis

We hadnt been in a few years due to the pandemic, but finally took time and it was worth it. Still just as delicious as ever and we will be going back again very soon.

Yummy! A lot of food for the money and tastes great, as long as you pick the right flavors. Be your own Asian food alchemist.

Since COVID started, I have not been going out much to restaurants for a number of reasons so it was really nice to go to Genghis grill with my son who came to visit and I really enjoyed it. I used to come here pretty often prior to COVID with a gal pal. You get to pick out what you want to eat or you can pick up from a menu and the ingredients are Healthy ones.

I hate to do this as I have been coming to this location for a few years but this latest experience was TERRIBLE. I ordered a to-go order and when I got there no one even acknowledged me waiting until after about 15 minutes which was odd considering the place was near empty. When I was greeted and I inquired about my take out order, I was advised it was not ready yet even though I was advised it would be about 40 minutes. By this time, it had been an hour! While waiting, I also saw about 5 different families come in, wait to be seated and never get acknowledged so they all left. When I finally got my to-go order I had placed, it had been over an hour and when I was able to eat my meal, it was HORRIBLE. Noodles over cooked, meat charred. I’m highly disappointed. Won’t be back.

Excellent, the make your own bowls are fun to see much toppings you can fit to have the best meal!

Good food and great service. Mongolian BBQ is a fun experience for patrons new and old.

Absolutely amazing selection of meat, veggies, and sauce. The place was very clean and the staff very polite. I definitely recommend this place to everyone!

The Hostess was great, but that "so called" grill master didnt throughly cook my food, and here I am today, trying to recover from under cooked food 😤

I went on my lunch break and met Bill and Kelly. Their customer service was grade A. It was so refreshing to bump into GREAT customer service and the food was hot and fresh! Thank you Bill and Kelly!

First time at Genghis Grill...but not the last! What a unique concept! So many choices! Everything was so fresh...I got steak and shrimp with fried rice and cabbage for my base...then loaded as many veggies as I could on top. I added the garlic sauce and sesame sauce to my bowl! Its a short drive to Ballantyne from Rock Hill really worth the trip! This is absolutely a place you will love!

Very tasty and reasonably priced, especially if you make your own bowl. Shamelessly stack it as high as you can, then have it cooked and sauced with your selections and youll be in for a great experience.

We were able to quickly get a table and be waited on. However its sad to continue to see how short staff most businesses are due to Covid and the aftermath of it. Still the restaurant was doing its best to stay afloat. I saw the manager helping to cook the food and only 3 waiters/waitress. Food was great! Enjoyed it! 😉

The staff are nice and the food tastes so good. I personally like the Korean BBQ and seafoods with a lot of vegies and fruits (orange and pineapplein my bowl. I love my 1/2 teriyaki sauce and 1/2 mongolian Bbq sauce with a little bit of korean bbq sauce for a little kick. I also like to have it with white rice because I am not on a diet for now. lol.I recommend this place for anyone who is looking to have healthy and delicious food. Just omit the rice. They have a lot of choices if you are not a fan of rice. You can just fill your bowl with lots of vegies and meat.

Was visiting from out of town and decided to try this place for the first time. My family and I were more than impressed with all aspects of this restaurant. The staff was so friendly and accommodating, and always looked like they were working to keep it clean. Our server was super helpful and informative about the menu since it was our first time. The food was also absolutely delicious, but the service was wonderful.

Our first time here and very satisfied with the overall concept and food. Our server took sometime and explained to us very well. Plant based chicken was very tasty. Dragon and 3g sauce combination was so good. Highly recommend this place.

Oh my gosh. What can I even say…First off the service was phenomenal, the manager was absolutely incredible, not only was she friendly but she was incredible at her job! My server/girl who made my food (I believe her name is Giadid a fantastic job, she was friendly as well and an incredible employee from the looks of it! Her work ethic was impeccable for her age! I will definitely be coming back hopefully Gia is my server again I might ask for her number, wish me luck!

Good food and great service. If youre looking for a greasy spoon, keep moving, but if you want a nice change from the average with an interesting take on a buffet style restaurant, then definitely give the Ghengis Grill a go!

Really like this idea. Fresh food and kinda fun going through the process. Lots of variety in proteins, veggies and sauces. Bathrooms were #gross. The tables and chairs and atmosphere is a little dated.

This restaurant is all around a great place to get food. They have delicious food and great service. It has a good variety of options so choose from so you will always be able to find something you love to eat. The service in this restaurant is unmatched all the employees are friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend everyone to go to Genghis Grill.

Great Place for a VERY filling meal. Buuuut.....Be warned: the staffing is still less than useless.We walked into the restaurant on a Sunday Afternoon, and while we were fully expecting to have to wait to be seated for that time of day, it was very disconcerting to see the restaurant at far less than 50% table capacity, but still have to wait for 20 minutes to be seated.I understand that the challenges of restaurant ownership is always staffing, but lets be real: If you dont have the staff to cover your seating, block off the restaurant to cover the staff coverage, so that all the visible seating is occupied.This place is not the only place affected by the Covid Fiasco, but its time to get real and bring the restaurants back to pre-covid or move to locations that are better able to accommodate the limitations placed on them by the recent restrictions.The time for understanding by a public wanting to go back to business as usual is nearing an end. Especially for businesses that are backing up to a state with far less restrictive policies.

We absolutely love this place. From the 1st point of contact to the very end everyone is very friendly & welcoming. The food options are everything. Fresh vegetables & plenty of options. I love the sauce selections & how neat, sanitary the whole set up was. The drinks aren’t watered down either. I bring all my friends from out of town here & they all love it. Safe to say this is one of my top favs.

Came in at 7:58pm , didnt get my food until 30 minutes later but my husband was still waiting for his. The manager was willing to cut his from the check and still make the meal. I finished my meal before 9pm, and my husband asked the waiter why his food had not come out yet, and the waiter gave him an attitude and MY HUSBAND NEVER GOT HIS FOOD. We are never coming back here.

I love this place I often go here for lunch and the lady behind the bar is thr best!! She is so friendly and had the best attitude! I always enjoy just having a "Hi how have you been conversation" it makes my visit even better. The food is always spectacular and I always really enjoy eating here there are 1000s of different options and combinations you can create. Its so yummy!

First time visiting and the food was great! Took me a second to adjust to the technique of ordering but once I got the hang of it, time to make a feast for a King. You choose your three dase and then you place any other bar item of various selections in the bowl they give you for cooking with the tree bases.Drop by the the place 🥣🍛😋

The concept is make your own bowl of chosen ingredients and they will cook it on the grill. They give choice of small, regular and large bowls, i took the large bowl however the regular is better choice in afterthought. There is good collection of asian sauces, vegetables and meat proteins. They also have recipe cards for signature bowls. Tried the king pao signature bowl, wasn’t great. Others in group tried diff sauces and ingredients with mixed results. Drinks were decent. Restaurant ambience is just ok. Best part was with their awesome Brownie with ice cream. Our Server was really great. It’s good for one time experience, but i may not go there again soon.

Good spot for eating healthier. The real draw here is the ability to craft your own Asian bowl, selecting from about a dozen protein choices, rices, noodles, and tons of different vegetables and sauces. Then they cook it for you on a flat top grill. Service is very good here.

My wife and I got there at least once every few months. We really enjoy the food there and the service it is way better than the one we have in Winston. You can pack your bowl as much as you can fit it with a good variety of meat options and veggies as well! They also have a menu you can pick what you want as well. Staff are friendly and the food was good! Will keep coming back again!

I took pics of everyones bowls. I LOVE this place. Pack your bowl as high as you want with meat and veggies. Theres no limit!! I stuff and make it all fit. You can get as much sauce and seasoning as you like and they have plenty options. You pick your starch, I always get fried rice and udon noodles, and you can add eggs to your rice as well.

Make sure you season your food in sections, especially if you get lots of meat and no sauces.

Love the food here. Got pad thai with udon noodles to go. Also got a brownie with caramel + chocolate sauce. Service was quick and friendly.

The Manager is the Best! She remembers my hubby and I everything we come. When we walked in today she said to us" I was wondering where yall have been I havent seen yall"! That right there is what customer service Is all about. She may not remember my name but she remembered my face. First time coming here with my husband. We had a great experience even with covid restrictions. Staff was extremely helpful and nice. They explained the whole process very well. My new favorite restaurant!!

Great food and great staff! After getting ignored with horrible service at another restaurant, this place filled the gap and then some! The food was great, and the staff were even better! What I wouldnt give for one of these places back home!

Delicious food, clean, and following covid guidelines. You get a lot of food for your money. You pick out your base (rice or noodlesthen go buffet style to pick out your seasonings and toppings. Then your food is cooked on the grill and brought to your table. Good value for your money!

It was good as usual. I went today for my free birthday small or regular bowl. I made my own regular garlic bowl with shrimp, beef, onions, mushrooms, green onions, bean sprouts, garlic sauce over udan noodles. It was around lunch time so it was a little busy. The service today was pretty slow. The mens bathroom was out of paper towels but pretty clean. The staff were courteous and professional, just slow.

Just felt like eating some Asian food other than Indian. So googled and found this restaurant. I have heard about this idea of eating but never have tried. We have to pick each ingredient which you wish to have in your food. They had a buffet setup of ingredients which has proteins, veggies and spices. They ll mix all this together with rice or noodles. It was really tasty and different for us. But the only drawback is restaurant looks so dull. Can be done something to make it bright and welcoming. But recommended for food and style👍🏻👍🏻

The waitress and staff were very nice and efficient. The food was great for a good price. I cant wait to go back and try different combinations from the buffet.

Phenomenal place, been here many times, the options on food choice are pretty extensive since you choose your meal by ingredients. Check this place out, its worth it and fairly inexpensive.

This was my first time ever eating here. I grabbed a Togo order from the bar. The experience from beginning to end was amazing. The bar tender was amazing. She explained everything in detail and left nothing unturned. The cook even explained the difference between the noodle selection. I truly enjoyed my food and the experience. I will be back very soon.

We took Mom in law there for mothers day. A different style of eating. Buffet style and then they cook it for you and bring it to your table. I didnt like that everyone got their food at different times and we had to wait for everyone to get their food. There were six of us.I was able to get a full keto bowl though so that was a plus!

This is a great place to go, they have an amazing selection of food! You get a bowl and go up to their lineup of food, meats veggies and sauces and can mix and match whatever you want, my family and I have a ton of fun trying to see who can stack their bowl the highest! Then you go up to their grill and you can add an egg and a selection of starches ex. Noodles, rice, cabbage and a few other options and they cook it up and bring it out to you!

This is a great place! No really! You can build your own bowl of uniqueness or follow a recipe provided at the food bar. If you leave hungry it is your own fault. The wait staff was kind, attentive and knowledgeable.

This was our first time. Loved the simple directions of how to fix your meal. Lots of choices. Everything was FRESH. We received our meals quickly and our server was attentive. I enjoyed my whole meal and we will be back soon.

This place is awesome!! Highly recommend! The food is wonderful, plenty of options when you build your own bowl, our waiter did an awesome job to ensure we fixed our bowls correctly and knew what to do. Plan on coming back anytime were near Charlotte.
