Great accompanying site next to alhambra. Dont skip this as the views of alhambra are spectacular and the gardens here are beautiful!

Generalife of Alhamra palace complex, Granada, Spain 🇪🇸 were summer gardens during Muslim rule and were used and extended even during Christian rule after 1492.Gaeneralife are located adjacent to the palaces main building. These gardens including beautiful patios, plants, flowers & fountains with amazing views of the city from the hilltop.

Light and airy and sitting on top of a hill, this beautiful palace has some of the most memorable gardens that Ive seen anywhere. Elegantly understated, with simple but gorgeous water fountains and water running literally all over the place, this summer palace overlooks the older palaces of Alhambra, the Albaicin neighborhood and the valley beyond. The perspectives are to die for. No matter in which direction you look, there will be an infinite number of beautiful shots waiting for you. While the Nasrid Palaces will impress you with architecture, this palaces gardens are its main attraction. Choose a beautiful sunny day. Try to get there early in the morning - it opens at 8:30 - to avoid the huge crowds, especially during the summer.

Immense. I have no idea why the place I’d named Generalife. Sounds like a crackpot pill being sold my a Trump pilot fish on Fox News in America. I think it refers to the grounds of Alhambra. I enjoyed the grounds more than the castles and museums. I spend summers riding through Europe on motorcycles and I’ve overdosed on castles and museums. I love the traveling and the natural beauty. The grounds are pretty nice. Formal. It would be nicer if they would identify the more spectacular plantings. In Spanish, English, and the proper botanical Latin.When I see places like this I become uncomfortably and acutely aware that all great empires were built on slave labor. It all winds up in and as museums.

This shouldnt be missed if you are visiting the Alhambra in Granada! This gorgeous buildimg and gardens are a perfect destination to learn about the Islamic past of southern Spain. If you can visit in the spring, the gardens are spectacular!

Amazing Palace and citadel! Pictures cant capture the beauty and atmosphere of actually being there.

Generalife is a very beautifully designed and well maintained garden. You can see the ingenuity of the gardeners from the combination of various tall trees, bushes and flowers, among the fountains, ponds and small yards. Although it is always flooded with tourists and it can be really difficult to take good pictures, still it’s very worth the visit.

Beautiful palace with beautiful arquitectura and gardens.

Nice gardens but it is too crowded to enjoy, even with drizzle on the day packed with people trying to all get the same picture and just standing still in entrance ways to get their pictures. Least favourite part of the Alhambra.

Great place too disorganized, too many times asking for tickets and passport, too slow to enter. And every day appears to be the same

Lots of gardens which are well maintained, with water a clear focus as most have fountains to aid cooling and providing a wonderful calmness. Dont be surprised to find a snake or two enjoying the cool water.

Beautiful gardens and palace. You can take a lovely walk in the gardens and enjoy all the flowers and the view of the city and Alhambra. The palace is not big, but is very charming.

Amazing place, but if I have to choose between this and the Palacios Nazaries, I will always choose the palacios. The generalife its a good complement to the visit, but be aware of hot temperatures on Summer, try to get there early in the morning!

Amazing garden full of flowers with an amazing water system and view and beautiful mosaic pebbles.A must visit place.

Located on the slopes of the Hill of the Sun, Generalilfe is just a short stroll from Alhambra. Built in the 14th century, it was the Summer Palace for the King of Granada. Formed by two groups of buildings connected through the Court of La Acequia, It has provided wonderful views over Alhambra and surrounding areas. As an UNESCO World Heritage Site, and as remarkably beautiful as it is, Generalilfe is understandably a very popular tourist attraction. Several photos from me.

We had a tour Generalife + Alhambra. Generalife was the summer home. Many gardens, small lakes and water all around. The price was worth it. I think its better the tour than the normal ticket as with the latter youd miss much info about the place. Great view of the Alhambra from Generalife

Beautiful gardens, well preserved water systems and buildings. Great view over Alhambra on the opposite hill and the city of Granada below. Definitely worth the walk even in December!

The most beautiful sight in Granada. The gardens and the buildings are ravishing. Wear comfortable shoes and take something to eat, there are drinking fountains. Always buy tickets online if you want to avoid the queue.

I wish there were more stars available for this palace.It is beautiful, surrounded by gorgeous mauresque gardens.Plan on wearing comfortable shoes because there is a lot of walking to do through various levels of elevations.The staff members are discrete but available everywhere.The price is really reasonable compared to other historic sites around the old continent of Europe.

One of most beautiful royal garden I have even seen. The garden planning is wonderfully integrated with landscape. Layer by layer, interplay with different elements, objects etc. Now is late June, Visitors can thoroughly enjoy themselves during the day. But make sure you have enough time, at least 3 and 1/2 hour I would suggest, to walk through the Generalife.

Awesome, should really take a guided tour to appreciate all the details. Lots of photo opportunities for your loved ones between the roses now in May.

The Generalife palace and gardens are another stunning part of the whole Alhambra complex. It’s a smaller palace than the Nasrid but it’s still worth a visit. It’s the place where the king Would go to relax away from the affairs of state. The gardens are lovely with water features and topiary everywhere. There are good views back onto the Nasrid palace and Granada. And there are toilets in the gardens if you need them.

This is heaven or paradise... This place is so beautiful that I dont know how they did centuries ago without any technology.. It has beautiful scenic views and you can view the entire city with Alhambra Palaces from here... Words cant describe how beautiful this place is... You can get lost here and enjoy your time

Magical place full of history and beautiful sights. Highly recommended. Dedicate a full day to visit the whole buildings in the site so you can enjoy fully the experience.

Just north of the Alhambra, with terraces leading from the Palacio del Partal past the Torre de las Infantas, the gardens of the Generalife are a real delight.There are formal parts of the garden with patios such as the Patio de Polo and the Sala Regla and there is also the outdoor stage where the annual International Music & Dance festival is held.There are stunning views of the Alhambra from the terraces of the Generalife and lots of magical fountains tucked away in the various patios and even a staircase with water flowing down the sides.Not to be based on a visit to the Alhambra.

To me the most beautiful part of Alhambra complex. Smaller but much more delicate and smaller crowd.

Very beautiful palace attached to thé Generalife gardens. Well preserved and well kept on a daily basis. Palace is 100% matching with thé gardens , pools , flowers and trees in thé gardens around. Must see.

Very nice Arab palacio in Europa. Beautiful garden and view from here to see the city. If it is spring or fall and winter to visit here, we must wear more clothes. The temperature here is relatively low.

If youre not too tired after the Alhambra it would be worth popping over here - at least wander the gardens and admire views overlooking the city...if youre not bored by now of them. 😉

At the end of the Alhambra visit you will be tired but the Generalife is a best ending point so visit it in any case! The garden is free but there must be a ticket to visit the Generalife palace. The palace is not so big so you dont need so many time to look around but it is lovely. The garden is huge and in summer its a good place to relax (in spring it was "only" nice). The main entrance is not too far from Generalife so we can easily leave the complex.

Incredible garden with beautiful, well-maintained trees and great view. It was a little walk from the Nasrid Palace and Palace of the Lion but its lovely indeed

Went in January, the weather was cold. The place was still beautiful and peaceful. Really enjoyed the visit.Make sure during peak periods you buy your ticket online.

The views, the history are amazing. the sounds of water make you realize how well plan this place was.

for the cheaper price you can visit these amazing gardens in Alhambra. totally worth every cents. in summer the temperature is probably 2-3°C colder than in the city

Must. Visit. If in a relationship and traveling with your significant other :anyway. Most romantic natural setting and view at sunset - by far probably (at least one ofthe most beautiful gardens youll see. 3 sets of couples took their engagement photos here while we were visiting, so you can imagine how beautiful it probably is. Audio guide explanation provided on the gardens and their history too, if you purchase using the Audio guide, so dont miss.

This section of Alhambra is mostly gardens, relatively newer ones, but lovely, with archways of cypress bushes, fountains, flowers, benches, and great views. Incredible gardens, not old like the surrounding buildings, but gorgeous and peaceful. Great views of the main buildings of Alhambra across the raveen​. Good place to sit in the shade and rest. The palace here is not noteworthy unless you were not able to bet into the sultans palaces, then definitely go. It has two beautiful courtyards with water areas, and some nice tile and etxhed plaster work areas.

Amazing.. totally worth visiting in a life time. Get tickets for all parts of the tour months ahead at least

Alhambra is enough. If you have visited Mirador San Nicholas and Alhambra you dont necessarily need this. Great view though and lots of gardens

You get to see some beautiful gardens and cool fresh air. Great view of the city from this vantage point. Plan ahead because this site and others in the complex are extremely popular and tickets gets sold quickly. So purchase yours a few months before coming here.
