Mediveal city dominant with great 360 degree view. You can reach the top by funicular (tickets are 2-4 euroor by foot by stone road and wooden stairs. Tower on a top works as museum. Prices are not cheap. Be prepared for wind.Restoration is going now.

Its a very nice path to the top,you can also take a little "gondola",but make sure you check the opening hours, in October,I believe it is already closed. It is worth the walk, because it has the most beautiful view over Vilnius.

Its a very nice tower, overlooking the city. You come here for the view. It is nice inside the tower, but naturally as you can see, youre not going to spend a lot of time in the tower. You can stand on the top though, which is super cool. Its what youd expect it to be.

Maybe not something impressive as other countries have but this is a very important historical remain that is a symbol of Lithuanian’s grand times and fights for freedom. There’s a museum inside to get more acquainted of what happened and what shaped Lithuania as an independent nation and country. Plus amazing views of Vilnius old town from the top.

It is a must to visit as it overlooks the capital and is very lovely during the night. You should consider visiting the three crosses monument around there, too.

Great tower and once part of a very large fortified defence system that covered the entire beautiful old town of Vilnius. Stunning views from the tower and there is a half decent museum inside. €6 entry fees.

We were on a snowy day of minus 8 degrees. Getting up in such a cold is not physically simple - certainly for a person living in a hot country. Reaching the top reveals an amazing view of the entire painted city. We decided not to enter the museum and the cable car did not work either.

Spectacular view of the city from above👌🏻It’s located in the center and it doesn’t need much time and energy to get on top of the hill to the castle, although there’s also an elevator to get there if you feel in difficulty to get there with a payment of just 1€. To visit the castle it costs you 5€ but it worths to have a 360 degree view above Vilnius center. You can some historical exhibitions & explanations inside as well.

Good views of Vilnius, 5 euro entry. On the second floor there was an interesting exhibition on the Baltic Way project, rest of it is a boring generic pseudo-museum (one old sword, couple coins etc.)

Though most of Gediminas’ Castle no longer remains, a tower from the Upper Castle is still standing. Originally built in the 1400s, the Upper Castle is one of Lithuania’s most famous historical landmarks. A walk up the hill to take a closer look at this brick structure provides stunning views of Vilnius’ historic old town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Amazing place full of heritage and history, its €5 to go inside the tower, and while the stuff inside isnt the most fascinating due to limitation of its size. I still recommend going in the tower because the view from on top is phenomenal, you can see all of Vilnius. The hike on to the hill was a bit tough (i dont exercisebut worth it. There is an option for elderly, disabled or people with small kids, to take the escalator which brings you to the top for only €1 per person.

When in Vilnius take time to visit the Gediminas Castle Tower as it gives you a great view over the city in all directions. We took the Funicular Railway up to the tower which was quick and easy and saved a bit of a climb. The railway was inexpensive and in itself an experience. There was work going on near the tower, looked like they are adding to the ramparts or making them safer. You have to pay to go into the tower and I got a disabled discount which was good.It is quite a climb to the top of the tower but well worth the effort with the great view.On different levels of the tower there are different exhibitions going on, the one about the Baltic Way, where 2 million people from Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia join together to hold hands across the three countries was particularly interesting.Make time to visit the tower, it is well worth it.

Overpriced at 5 Euro, they know people will pay the price regardless because of the stunning panorama. The view from the hill is nice enough, but the experience from the top of the tower is on a completely different level. The museum is small and rather uninspired, they threw some stuff in to justify charging an entrance fee.The climb to the tower can be tricky in the winter or when its raining as the rocks can get quite slippery, come with proper shoes

Very highly recommend to visit if you are in Vilnius!!The castle tower is in the city center and its easy to reach it. Its possible to walk and there is an elevator for 2eur to go and come back. The view its already amazing from the hill up, but its also recommended to enter in the tower where you will find historical exhibition and 360° panoramic view from the topic. The view from there is breathtaking and extraordinary.

This historical tower is located at a prominent hill in the center of Vilnius. Actually, it _was_ the center of Vilnius back in the 14th century. The tower was later partly destroyed but in the later years a great restoration of the complete hill and the Gediminas tower in particular has taken place. Today, the tower is a museum and offers a great view of the city.

Amazing tour at the top of the hill near the square.Tip: the tower is about a ten minute steep walk up a cobblestone hill , you also have the option of taking the furnicular for about a euro. When you are at the top of the mountain you can see the tower for free, however if youWant to enter there is a 5euro fee.Strongly recommending taking the trip here.

As one of the landmarks of the city you’d be crazy not to pay a close up visit to this site. There’s a choice of routes up to the tower - either the funicular which costs a few Euros extra, or walking up the steep cobbled hill. The walking route is tough to begin with but soon turns into steps and a proper constructed path, but if uneven walking or steps are difficult then the funicular is the way to go.Once at the top of the hill there’s a great view of the eastern part of the city. The tower itself and building work prevent a view over the Old Town but I’d recommend heading to the top of the tower to get the view. Upon entering I was directed to the ticket counter where a €5 fee got me a chance to climb to the top. You aren’t given the chance to climb before entering the ground floor and the direction of new visitors is controlled by the staff on the door. There’s a gift shop on the ground floor and some displays on the floors up above. These are interesting but it’s clear most visitors are interested in the views from the windows, or wanting to reach the top of the stairs to the summit. The stairs themselves are steep and narrow and although the lack of control for people climbing and descending wasn’t great, there was enough width to let most crowds pass without too much issue.Once at the top the view is as good as it gets of the city. It’s a true 360 degree perspective and the top of the castle is large enough to mean it’s not crowded, even during busy periods. With a perspective over the Old Town, the city to the north and the forest it’s easy to spend quite some time at the top admiring the views so fortunately there’s no limits on time etc. The descent down is a lot quicker and easier, but again it’s navigating the steep steps. For the ticket price charged it’s a good value experience. Given that you’re free to spend as much time as you like at the top, and the views are decent, with some good displays on the way up, I’d certainly class it as a ‘must-do’ in the city and would love to return.

The entrance is free of charge to the tower itself and this is good enough to see the panorama of the city. If you want to get inside to the tower itself then it is 5 EUR and I think that is a bit too much. The area is at the moment under construction at least party and hence I recommend to visit also the 3 Crosses which you will see from there too.

Great views from the castle. The climbing and construction around the castle were not too appealing. Got to have good climbing shoes. The construction took away some of the beauty surrounding the castle. Awesome panoramic view of the city.

Lots of construction and renovation work taking place on the steep path leading to the 14 century tower shows Vilnius city want to attract more tourists to the landmark. Wooden stairs was being added to make it easier to walk than on the cobbled stone path. There is also a funicular helping people. Admission to the tower and small museum is 5 euro for adult as of Jun. 23, 2019. Regular and video exhibitions of the history and the views from the tower is shown on the second and the first floor, respectively. Finally, on the top of the tower is the observation deck, and you can see the triple cross on the other side of the hill, the great view of the city and the tall, thin structure of TV tower on the other bank of Neris river. Nice place to spend half to an hour.

Must Visit!!! Really quiet when we visited, we couldnt have asked for more! Nice walk up and theres a funicular railway if your not up for a steep climb. Beautiful views leading up to the tower. It is currently under construction and will be for a few more years, doesnt spoil the visit though. The tower itself is a museum and very interesting for those looking to gain some knowledge, bit of your just after the views head straight to the top (bear in mind theres a small entrance fee, so head to reception firstthe climb is very steep with a winding stair case and no other options to ascend. Once up the views are a panoramic 360. Enjoy the views of the capital courtesy of Gediminas!
