Large aquarium with a wet room where visitors get hands on with some of the building's inhabitants.
Gdynia Aquarium in Gdansk
Description
Good place for "family time"
It was OkLess living creatures and more of history or more like musueem with facts on maritime
MoreVery small and too small aquariums for the fishes. Dont worth the visit.
Aquarium has lot of different types of colorful fishes. Apart from fishes, it has turtles, snakes, anaconda but colorful fishes are the main attraction. It doesnt have much to see and you can finish it in less than 30 minutes. We went on Saturday and it was very much crowded. Better to book it in advance if going on weekend, but its not really worth for the price of 35zl, could have priced it lesser as it doesnt have morden aquarium setup like in Singapore etc.
MoreBest attraction of Gdynia
Much smaller than I hoped for but still interesting. Theres not a lot big fish there, and while thing takes maybe 1 hour to see.
MoreIts a shame that this aquarium is so badly managed. Its basically in a lighthouse configuration, you have to go to the top of the building and worked down floor by floor, most rooms are circular in nature and they fill up so fast that its impossible to see things unless you walk in a very slow moving queue. Theres no staff on site through the building that we saw so people were just pushing and shoving each other with no one to regulate them. Many of the tanks are too small for the creatures inside, especially the lobsters and most of the interactive educational things for children are broken or missing. The viewpoint outside on the balcony cost 2zł and didnt work.It was interesting to note that we saw no staff all the way around the aquarium yet we got to the gift shop and there were at least 4 staff constantly hard selling toys to kids and interrupting your browsing to show you various products. It really did make it feel that the owners are pocketing the profits and not doing anything to improve the museum or the welfare of the animals at all.
MoreInteresting to see different species ( not only from Baltic seeof fishes in tanks, but most of the exibits are not alive. Some exibits are really low quality or even broken. It takes not more than 1 hour to go through, for kids it is intersting though.
MoreQuite a fun experience and has more than I initially thought. Some skeletons and interesting fish, plus the mouth of a megalodon, just to put in perspective on how big it was :D
MoreNice place to visit for an hour or two, especially if the weather is bad ;A lot of interesting and unique species of fish worth seeing. But it’s really hard to find a place to park…(we were there on Saturday)
MorePretty overcrowded place with people that cannot behave. Place should be limited to max. number of people.
MoreBoring. Just a few small fishes. I was very Dissapointed. No parking. A lot of people on weekends.
MoreWaste of time and money. If thats not your first aquarium then definitely dont recommend to visit.
MoreBetter than expected, bigger than expected and very interesting, spacious and would recommend 200%
MoreOne of the main attraction in Gdynia. Very near to the beach. They have lots of collection of marine life.
MoreKids will enjoy 🐠🐟🦈🦦🦀🦐
A great aquarium with very interesting rooms offering a natural history or the Baltic Sea along side a wide range of fish and other aquatic life (and two snakes). We loved seeing creatures we otherwise wouldnt such as the axolotl, electric eels and other weird looking fish :-There were some beautiful ones too.
MoreGood recreation place
Place is nice and has a good collection of live fish and coral reef. The rest of exhibits were rather boring
MoreI liked a lot of interesting things.
Very interesting place to learn about the Baltic sea, as well as different sea plants and animals. Good time with kids
MoreThats an interesting place, many beautiful fish.
Cool place to discover the sea life. It is good tourist attraction, but it is nothing extraordinary. Kids enjoy it a lot!
MoreWas nice but quite underwhelming
Such an amazing experience, 30 zł per entry, 60 to 90 mins is enough to see all the sea life and dont forget to use the audio guide to learn everything about each creature you see, beautiful layout and cute gift shop
MoreNice aquarium, a lot of different kinds of fish and sea animals. But dont expect to spend a whole day here. After an hour you have seen everything.
MoreGreat place to visit with family, lots of knowledge and animals to see. but slightly dated. Nothing ever changes on the top floor. Bit in general very good.
MoreThe place has not many things to see, it’s more like photos rather than real once. Bad part of this place is the fishes has tiny place to live. They could have made bigger place for the fishes and turtles. You got discretion in English and polish. I would not say it is worth of money.
Morethe tickets are pricy but thats to be expected from danzig areas, very cool looking fish and lots of different species, when you bring your kids here please tell them to avoid touching the glass and dont place them on top of things.
MoreIt’s just fine, but not 32 pln for sure, and yea, there are no tunnel aquarium if you saw it in google
MoreDisappointed, a small aquarium in more ways than one, a lot of the tanks were too small for the fish, rooms are rather clostraphobic with no where to take good photos, way too many people with no pandemic precautions in place. A lot of information within the aquarium but most of it in Polish with no English translations. Not an enjoyable place to visit in Gdynia, luckily there is plenty of other stuff to see in this beautiful city.
MorePrices are little bit to high I think.Good place to visit with kids.
Tickets are not cheap (normal: 32 PLN), but a variety of species from all over the world (from the Baltic to exotic seas), is really worth to see. Fauna and flora presented in the Aquarium are accompanied by interesting descriptions provided in both Polish and English. Apart from educational aspect of the exhibitions, it is a unique opportunity to contemplate the sophistication of the nature and its amazing adaptation ability.
MoreGood place, but nothing special. For small childrens it should be good. But for adults is it little bit booring.
MoreYou have to take your kids to this place. Mine were thrilled. So was I. Still, plan your trip carefully and arrive in the area well in advance. Finding a parking spot might be a challenge and you would be up for a long walk.
MoreThe amount of species that they have is incredible. The aquarium is separated into sections in which you can find animals from different parts of the world, for example from South America. Great place!
MorePlace full of different kinds of sea creatures, fun for kids, entertaining for adults. Beautiful view from the windows as well.
MoreAn absolutely wonderful place to visit! If anyone travels to Gdynia for vacation this is definitely a must see. Incredibly rich collection of water creatures of all sizes and colours, all described and shown on info boards right next to the aquariums. Highly recommended, but bare in mind its a multiple hour trip. Theres also a restaurant inside.
MoreI have never seen so many species of fishes before! I highly recommend it!
It was okay you want see anything special to be honest, its not a very big aquarium and it doesnt have many species of fish but it does have a museum bit where you can learn about sharks and seals.
MoreAs a lover of the marine life and tank enthusiast I was both sad and annoyed about this place. Renovation is in order or complete close down. The tanks are dirty and ther are to little space for the animals to hide and be alone. Dont wast your money on this aquarium. You will be disappointed.
MoreFun place to visit if youd like to see and learn more about the local sealife.
Went in for a quick visit 25zl for entrance fee not too much fish but the ones that were there were gorgeous. Would be good for a family with kids on a rainy day
MoreAmazing place especially for toddlers and schoolchildren. And even the youngest will enjoy the tour. Exhibition is compact and doesnt allow to be bored.
MoreGood aquarium with lots of different kind of fishes. You need to buy a 25 pln ticket to enter and then 2pln for a audio guide(ipodwhich explains about all creatures exhibited in the aquarium. Wonderful place to see different kind of fishes. Its restricted to take pictures with flash. Wonderful view from the top of the building.
MoreA couple of animal cruelty concerns with a lowly crocodile in a tiny tank and a large turtle in an equally restricted tank.Other than that its a dissapointing mediocre aquarium. The educational sections for kids are only in Polish. For some reason the observation tower has restricted all views of the area. The tanks they do have are well maintained but they are a world behind what most other tourist aquariums have to offer. As you leave youre ferried through the gift shop which is tiny and limited to tat you can get anywhere. At a push its something to do on a rainy day but Id have reservations due to the animal cruelty concerns.
MoreGreat place for someone who have never been in any aquarium. I was in Oceanario in Lisbon and in Oceanarium in Wroclaw so I wasnt impressed. No sharks, seals, dolphins, penguings, etc.
MoreFairly small aquarium with run down exhibitions and very noisy. The rooms are crowded and very hot during the summer. Maybe exciting for kids, but very boring for anyone 12 and up.
MoreVery pleasant place with a nice variety of animal displays, clear tour direction marks and a lovely terrace where you can have a stop half way for a coffee, the place isnt too big, though still good value for money considering the ticket prices arent too high. Would reccomend to a friend though one off visit is enough!
MoreGreat place for families and children. You can spend entire day. Unfortunately it was raining during our visit but, we still had a great time.
