Korean restaurant with traditional table grills, pot stews and pickled vegetables in simple setting.
The food was very tasty and the atmosphere was pleasant, the waiters were very nice, I recommend it with confidence
I like to come here during the winter months when it gets dark early and maybe raining. This restaurant is tucked away in a nice quiet road and the warm light from inside invites you to come in from the cold to eat kimchi jjigae (김치찌개). If you are lucky, they might be playing Korean music. I could sit in here all evening listening to Taeyeon singing, whilst I eat kimchi jjigae.
Delicious food and excellent service. Get advice on what to order as we discovered things by talking to our lovely waitress.
Stopped by here after an exhausting day when I was in quite a sour mood and came out smiling and relaxed, asking my husband if he wanted to move to the neighbourhood. Prompt service and excellent food with a taste of home; perfect portions, nothing overseasoned or overcooked, and dishes advertised as spicy are ACTUALLY spicy, which made my Indian heart sing. I kept wiggling in my seat from how happy I was. Lovely multigrain rice accompanied my stir-fried squid, and the yukgaejang (tender shredded beef and vegetable souphad a really pleasant kick and an aroma of fresh veggies. The free banchan provided added the right sweet and sour elements, and my ginseng tea came in a beautiful porcelain cup that stayed warm for the full hour we ate. Despite the quick service and late hour, we werent ushered out. A truly comforting experience. I dont live anywhere near London, but I will return just to eat here.
food was very good, could do with more ambience. Ie music as there was no background noise
This is a very nice restaurant. It would be a very nice place for romantic dinner but unfortunately I dont have a lady in my life. Maybe you could do Thursday singles night and I meet amazing woman. :-)
Gaya is truly outstanding. Every dish Ive ordered (and Ive been back several times nowhas been fresh, tasty, and made with obvious care. If youre familiar with Korean food, every dish is beautifully authentic. If youre not, this is a great place to try it for the first time. Its a small restaurant, so its cozy and intimate enough for a date, but also excellent for a group of friends who want to do Korean Barbecue. Theres also a nice selection of drinks. I highly recommend it!
Gaya is a popular Korean restaurant. The menu is incredibly extensive. So far, I have tried their bibimbap, various BBQ meats, and pajeon to takeaway. All have been delicious. I hope to eat in one day as it looks great inside too with some tables having a BBQ. An added bonus is that they have parking space outside.
One of my favourites in Raynes Park. Its small, but theres so much choice for food. The bibimbab is amazing.
My favorite restaurant in New Malden. Friendly staff with toddlers . they have toddlers cutlery anf plate (plastis so i can be calmand amazing and attentive staff . Very authentic/clean/delicious and great service. Price is also very reasonable.
Lovely place with swift service. You always get water and some side dishes included in your meal. Whats best is you can book a table which is sometime impossible in New Malden. We had mackerel, seafood pancake, ox bone soup, spicy seafood/tofu soup, bbq pork belly, beef ribs and some salad leaves. All for around £68. Enough for 3 people. Would go again. And they do the BBQor you!
Family celebration meal, great experience had. Welcome friendly service provided. Great time had by all family members!!
Excellent, traditional Korean bbq with a wide selection of classic Korean dishes. Everything was well prepared, the side dishes, the appetisers and the bbq itself were all full of flavour and authentically made. The waitress was happy to explain the different options and give some recommendations as well as suggest extras to complete the experience. The adlay tea and citron honey tea were nice options to have and round out a great Korean lunch. Come hungry, as the portions are generous but delicious.
Lovely place, cosy and good service, Incredible food. I come here often with my family and its hard to choose anywhere else when we choose to dine out!
Great authentic korean food! Kids are extremely happy
Delicious!! A must if you are in Raynes Park.Walking past the restaurant you are greeted with a nice smell of food that makes you want to come in. Once you do, you are welcomed by really friendly staff who are helpful for people who have never been to a Korean BBQ, even helping you with the cooking. We had pork belly and marinated beef and it was soooo delicious. You get plenty of toppings and you could also get sides to complete the experience.Good value for money. Highly recommended. We will be coming back.
Delicious Korean food and friendly service. A lovely, homely restaurant.
Quirky, local mom N pop shop feel restaurant. Very reasonably priced dishes with a lot of flavour.
Excellent food and service. For starters we ordered kimchi pancake, fried dumplings, korean fried chicken and selection of pickles. Everything cooked to perfection and tasted superb. Mains we had the chicken, steak and marinated pork bbq, with a large selection of kimchi, radish, and other pickles......absolutely delicious!!! service was very attentive. With alcoholic drinks for 4 was £150 inc service charge. Will definitely be returning, fantastic little find.
5* service and some of the best Korean food I’ve ever eaten. Great quality, great price, go!
It was a recommendation from our Korean hairdressers. Now it’s our favourite Korean restaurant of all time. Every dish we have tried was just perfect and NOT pricey at all.I really like their rice too — is it red bean or mixed grain rice? The staff are super super super friendly too. They always come to provide just-right service when you need it. It’s baby/children friendly too. The lady always came to remind us which dish baby can try which might be too spicy. So nice.Really like this restaurant.
We tried BBQ tonight, the sirloin beef is excellent, while the pork is ok. The kimchee pancake tastes very good and crispy. The seafood tofu soup is also very tasty and thick, the purple rice tastes very nice. I wish they can provide better free appetizers though. Generally very good food, and good service.
Really tasty Korean food, got the pork and chicken bulgogi, kimchi fried rice, udon and gyoza. Not the cheapest but good quality, nice flavours, will be ordering again.
Went there the first time today and it was amazing! It will defiantly be my go-to Korean restaurant from now! Love the free seaweed starter dish!
Loved the kimtchi fritters and the BBQ beef. Very extensive menu and restaurant is frequented by a lot of Koreans so I conclude it must be genuine. Pleasant atmosphere despite the smoke from all the table top BBQs.
so many beautiful memories in this restaurant!! I used to go with a friend with serious allergies who struggled to go out to eat, he always felt safe here as everything was fresh and well prepared. everyone super lovely : I miss this place
One of the better restaurants along this stretch of Durham Road. Love their thick robust stews packed with protein, try their kimchee pork stew and fish stews. Smoked duck is also good. Garlic chicken needs a punchy marinade. Seafood pancake could be improved. Courteous staff. Clean interiors, well laid out. Theres good parking on their forecourt and along the street.. Open all week except tuesdays
Really good restaurant , as good as, if not better than most of the places in K-Town ! Good , friendly service and food that you can tell is made with care . High Korean headcount - always a good sign . Will definitely be back soon .
The customer service is fantastic. Menu artived soon after seated. Their weekday lunch menu is very good value for money and as tasty as the other dishes in the big menu. My husband and I love going there for a meal and every time enjoyed it. A foodies gem in Raynes Park!
Lovely wee restaurant. Delicious food and drink, especially the BBQ. Staff were so polite and attentive. Really nice atmosphere.
We have been a few times to this restaurant, both lunch and dinner times, and every time we have been impressed by the quality of the food as well as the service. We have been to many Korean restaurants, and this is by far the best one.
Great Korean restaurant for BBQ. Lots of meat options with reasonable price. Their prawn tempura is lovely !
A very pleasant Korean restaurant in Raynes Park near the train station. The restaurant is clean and cosy, the service is very friendly and you feel at home. The dishes like Fried Chicken, Bibimbab or Seafood Pancakes are in my opinion much better than the standard Korean in New Malden. Its also nice that the salad leaves and pickles for the BBQ are of very high quality and impeccably fresh. The BBQ runs in the table integrated with gas, the service helps first timers. The meat is also of very high quality, but the portions are rather medium. Other Koreans offer more, but probably in less premium quality. This can drive up the price of the meal, we spent about £170 for four people, which is okay.We will definitely be back.
I found a hair on the Crab meat gesal geon!! Disgusting!!!!!I have ordered via Ubereats (deliveroo restaurant didnt pack the food properly and all the spicy soup leaked over other foods... the problem is that this is not a first time. They must improve the food package.
Delicious food, great service at a cozy restaurant
Most (about 90%foods are genuinely above the average and some are really tasty and wonderful. It is a place where you can try various taste from Korean foods.I guess the foods are above the expectation with good visuals compared to the other restaurants in the UK!Services are served very politely and rapidly, but may get little bit slowed down if the restaurant is filled with ppl.Overall, I would recommend people to have a chance of Korean food in this restaurant in a fair amount of charge.
Quite a nice local Korean restaurant. Have had better jajang noodles but the starters are very delicious! Staff are also very nice. Looking forward to trying more mains to find my fave!
Amazing food and staff. I left my bag and they kindly found my bag. I will definitely visit again.
Today I ordered Vegan souo take away. Tasty, delicious, balanced. Soup made with heart. Strongly recommend this place.
Great place. Great food and service but it is really too small! Felt like i didnt have enough room to move my arms. Very compact
Id been to this restaurant on several occasions. Staffs were efficient and friendly. Great menu, they served highlights of Korean cuisine. My fav are the picked vegs sets, cooked dish such as pancake, Korean stir fried vermicelli, raw beef with egg yolk pear slices is a must have for starters. Dont miss their BBQ set. One of the main reason to go for Korean food is to have their famous destop BBQ. I like the pork belly marinated in spicy sauce. It is served with lettuces, sliced spring onion and special bean paste.
Delicious food and excellent table service. We ordered some barbecue dishes, and being novices to Korean food, werent too sure what would go with them, but the waiter was happy to explain the menu and make recommendations. Were from out of town but will definitely be going back when we get the chance.
The customer service was excellent... The food we ordered were delicious... The place is cosy and we enjoyed our time there.
The food and atmosphere was really great. Took my family and we had a really nice time. The service and food was really amazing. The best and most authentic Korean Bbq I’ve been.
Amazing Korean food with great service. Not too expensive and looks to be very authentic as loads of Korean people eat there. Will visit again!
Nice place, brilliant atmosphere and great food. You cant go wrong!
Very generous portions and good deals for lunch. Black bean noodles is very good. Chewy noodles and flavourful sauce. Good amount of side dishes for free, unlike many other korean restaurants which charge for side dishes.
My first time dining here and I am happy to say that I will be back.Very friendly, and attentive staffThe best dishes to opp for judging by a party of 10 Koreans celebrating an occasion is to go for fish and deep pot dishes sizzling as its brought to the table, I had to agree,Prices range from moderate to expensive but was very happy to pay for lovely food
Best Korean restaurant in SW area! They do have lunch deal too.Would like to go back again!
A hidden gem with amazing Korean food, warm service and very tasty dishes. A must visit place. They cook barbecue right on your table which makes the place extra quirky.
