Ice lounge with frozen DJ booths, furniture & sculpture where the entry fee includes cape & gloves.
Ive been here when its been crazy and when its been quiet. Both were good. On the latest Friday night visit there were dueling pianists that were quite good on the Chill side of the place.
Awesome local bar! Has the real feel of a speakeasy with a hidden entrance off the south side of the building. Its definitely a hidden gem in the king west area.
This spot is very low key, it also gives off a very welcoming vibe. They have good parties from Thursday to Saturday.I would suggest this spot to anyone who is looking for the following- Cheap Drinks $$- Live DJs.- You can buy bottles or just socialize- A good spot to celebrate birthdays- a place to dance
Fantastic place. Excellent atmosphere, great drinks, and the staff are both nice and good at what they do. Always a must-go when Im in downtown Toronto! Pro-tip: order the old fashioned.
Awesome spot to drink beer and hang out, now with games included! Fooseball, big Buck hunter and more in their new games room! Free play when you buy a drink!
Was here for NYE. Innovative concept and interesting decors. Some bar games options like foosball and table curling(?to keep you entertained. The backroom is well decorated and felt quite cosy. Was packed on New Year’s Eve.
If youre looking for a unique night out, this is an interesting one. Youre in a -4 degree freezer for the first bit. Bring gloves for sure, they do provide a parka but its not the cutest. You wont actually spend much time in there after you finish all your photo taking. Theres a warm room afterwards which has a cozy cabin type atmosphere - this is where you can get more comfortable. Definitely worth at least one visit.
Go at your own Peril very short hours even smaller place one more thought about it and they sense though its got to be difficult keeping all that ice cold super anti-climatic and nothing like I thought it would be since me and everybody else better to find a Ice Bar where its frozen typical weather all year round
Nice decoration but in the cold room they dont have music or anything playing, so after 10 minutes you get bored and cold and want to leave.
Was a neat experience. Best part was mk64 lol.The bar attached was definitely a neat hangout as well, and the ice bar area being a novelty. It wouldnt be a regular place Id visit but would go back.
Im being generous in awarding 3 stars as this place is NOTHING like what you see in YouTube videos. It is virtually empty inside and basically is a walkin freezer. Makes one feel like youre about to get whacked by the mob. Lol 😂The environment is pretty nice though and a good place for crowds aged 25 to 35. I heard that Saturday nights are quite the party just expect to be disappointed with the ice house part of it as more of a gimmick than anything else.
Did an event here last Christmas. At the start was rocky, but in the end everything turned out awesome. Would use again, just with more direction. Pricing very good.
A whole new experience for a bar
Super fun place to visit! Great experience worth freezing your face off in, especially when it’s hot out. You get parkas and gloves, can take pictures and have a drink. Interesting and unforgettable experience
Great spot, had an absolute BLAST, its definitely all about a great atmosphere with fantastic people. PS - ask for the K&M, its Katys special and its AMAZING!
Absolutely love this place. Its like walking into a ski cabin in the middle of Toronto. The owner also made all the ice sculptures in the back. Recommend the ski bunny shot here.
Very cool spot (get it?). Ice room is awesome. Drinks are priced well and staff is very friendly. Great spot to grab a drink!
Ice room was porrly maintained, several areas with frozen vomit just laying there. Wasnt sanitary at all. I dont know if its always like this, but it wasnt a comfortable space when i went. But the Gatsby area was fine. Though Pictures online were way better than the experience unfortunately.
This is my favourite bar in the city. Great for a private party or a night out with your buds. The staff is the best!
What a gimmick. I was there for under five minutes and left. Can’t tell about the service but the ice lounge is a joke. I would not go even for free. One star because there is nothing less.
One of my favourite, tucked away spots in Toronto. Always a good crowd and the owners are beyond kind! The drinks are always cold and the company always warms you up :)
Awesome atmosphere, like nothing else youll find in the city. The staff and owners make you feel like family. If youre visiting the city its a must try. If you live here, make it a regular stop for a good night.
My favourite place to visit when in Toronto! Always a fun time, the staff is super friendly and I loved the fondue!
Had my wife’s 30 Birthday here. We had such a great time. Solid music, tasty drinks and really awesome environment.
Love how the entrance was tucked away down a small alley, and when you enter into Gatsby Speak Easy its a wonderful vibe. Our bartender, Sam, was AMAZING! He was personable, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to deal with. He also served us the most amazing Patron Cafe shots in the ice lounge while we played with the ice games and danced around. Perfect experience from beginning to end. Thanks Sam! We will most definitely return sometime soon.
It was a really neat experience. The bartender was very attentive and friendly. You enter through this other cool bar Gatsby which also has its own cool charm and flair. The tequila coffee shots were delicious and served in these ice shaped shot glasses. Definitely worth a visit!
Have been twice. Once for a work event and once for another event. The ice bar is neat for about 5 minutes and then we were all over it. It’s a pretty small room and they didn’t actually serve us any drinks there. So you sort of just stand around and take a few pictures which was pretty disappointing. I was anticipating cold drinks served in ice glasses. The bar at the back is cute - a cabin-like feel. I’m not sure how much “cover” would typically be, but I wouldn’t recommend it if you have to pay to get in. I suspect the ice bars in Montreal are much better.
Great bar tucked away down am alley. Has a traditional bar and then the ice part which is like a sea container adorned with glass walls, furniture and entertainment.
Amazing experience! Service was great, music and crowd were also very good. Very laid back environment with the cottage-like decor and the Jitz table and super mario video game playing were good touches. The ice lounge was such a cool experience - a bit crowded at times but still definitey something to try experience. Only thing is the washrooms could be a bit more well maintained.Would definitely go back again and will also recommend this place to people.
was great to feel icy :D memories from childhood)))
Took my friend for her birthday, its a great spot to check out. The ice bar was really neat. Staff was super friendly, would go back for sure!
Pros:Spiked hot chocolateFun conceptIce roomPub decorCons:SpaceFoodSummary:Went for my birthday, I was excited to hang out in an ice bar; to my dismay the ice bar was TINY haha. Sooooo, we finished the ice bar area in under 15 mins and went to the actual bar. The atmosphere was nice in there, but the lack of seating in the bar made it difficult to enjoy ourselves; also the food wasnt that good. I feel horrible that this review couldnt be better, I really wanted this experience to be good which was why I was disappointed.
Really cool bar, I loved how everything was made of ice from the air hockey table to seats etc. Went on a Sunday and it was not busy. Got treated good by the staff, just a lot smaller than I thought it would be.
Pretty nice place. Went there with my gf and kids and had a great time. The staff were super friendly . Ive never witnessed a more happier staff .Its was like they loved working there and would do it for free. Also thank you to the awesome barkeep for accomdating all of my requests.Simply amazing people
Very cool place. The main bar area is awesome and the ice bar is very cool until you get too cold!
Absolutely amazing customer service ! The music was great and the bartender was the perfect host for the evening. If you havent already checked this place out, go ahead and do so. My cousin and I will definitely be coming back!
Great service, unique experience. It was super awesome in the "chill" area, and super cozy in the warm area. Neat concept, Ive never been to a bar like it. Also the guy working the front admission area was really great. Super friendly, funny and gave lots of information about the area for us to explore. Definitely worth the experience.
Awesome spot!1 of a kind in Toronto.Admission comes with a free shot! Also one of the only bars Ive been to where random people buy a round for the entire bar (on multiple occasions)
This is one of the coolest places to go and drink, pun intended. My wife and I took our 1 year old during the day and we had a blast.
The room is small, but the service is great. The cocktails they serve are not good as we imagined. However,it is okay to play with ice!!!
Amidst a slew of average reviews, I had low expectations for this place. Theres a lesson here: set your standards low so youll only exceed them. And thats exactly what happened with CHILL Ice House. A lot of folks complaining about the ice room being small and underwhelming. Actually found the ice room to be fairly big - certainly bigger than my expectations. Beautiful, lovely sculptures, ice air hockey, two ice booths with fur seat covers. Everything here is legit made out of ice!Staff working the front was very nice. Manager serving the shots, not as much but she was fine. She left us unattended in the room after she served us the shots. With the Groupon, you get up to 6 folks entry to the ice room with a complimentary ice shot... i.e. sugary soda pop (but tastyin a cool ice shot glass mold. We werent allowed to get 6 shots even though only 5 of us came. You also get gloves and a large overcoat that you top over your existing winter jacket. Didnt think I needed it, but it got really quite cold after ten or so minutes!I think we spent around 15 minutes altogether, -5°C in there. Theres a "normal" temperature bar connected to it, fashioned in a rustic whimsical way. Very cute and cozy with ample seating as well. Think this bar atmosphere would work really great as a standalone, but its kind of a shame that its missed under the more gimmick-y "ice room". Didnt order any drinks there, but enjoyed the quiet, near-empty atmosphere. Still, both parts were great to kill an hour. Groupon price was a really good deal, very content with it.Dont think I will be back even as the bar as itself was pretty cool. The ice room is definitely a try-once kind of thing. Would recommend this highly!
Really unique experience. There are two rooms; a hot and cold room. Both are rather small. The cold room is really cool, no pun intended. From the ice sculptures to the shots made of ice this is a place to see.
We came too early, apparently starts getting fun at 7pm. But the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Really cool ice sculptures. I dont know if it actually closes at 1 am? Would have gone back later but wasnt sure.
The Staff at the Chill Ice House are super awesome. They are very accomodating and make you feel very welcome. I loved the decoration of the hot room and the chill of the ice house. The ice sculptures were very detailed and the room had a very cool pardon the pun atmosphere. Looking forward to coming back. - A Richard Trus review
Looking for something different to do in downtown Toronto... This is your place!!!Absolutely everything is made of ice, even the glasses which you get the cocktails in.Great atmosphere with a hidden warm bar in the back, so you can warm up with a hot choc... spiked of course ;)I will definitely be bringing my friends here again!
Pretty neat place. Thought there would be more things to see, so was disappointing to see it was just a few sculptures. You get your jackets at the front then goes straight to the freezer where theres a mini bar and some booths. Then goes straight to the lounge/bar area. Place looked a bit dirty. We got the fondue set, it was just like the ones you get at Walmart. Cool concept, but would only come once. Front desk gave us coupons for future use. Might be a decent place to chill but would say that the entrance fee is not worth it. Found this place on groupon!
The staff is very cooperative. They matched us the groupon deal. Place is kind of small, but something new to explore. Warmer drinks are cheap and nice.
Interesting concept. Essentially a giant freezer cooler where they create ice sculptures. Staff was very friendly. Got bored of it rather quickly though. Good for a one-time visit, not sure Ill return.
Went to an event last night at this very cool (pun intendedbar that served drink in frozen ice glasses in fact the whole place is made of ice, chairs, bar even the DJ booth. The place was a fun adventure in the city. They also had a large back room area that was warm, where we hung out for the rest of the night. Interesting concept, an ice bar.
What a great experience, awesome place to spend a night, not as cold as I thought it was going to be, was actually really comfortable. Recommend everyone getting out and experiencing this great new spot. Amazing sculptures and friendly staff.
