Gateway Clipper Fleet in Pittsburgh

A perfectly hassle-free and pleasant experience! We took the Haunted Pittsburgh tour as our first trip, to see what the boat experience was like. In addition to the pleasant weather, the constant ghost stories being told over loudspeaker was a nice way to tune in and out as you walked between decks for a tarot card reading or to mingle with the spooky crew members.We enjoyed this experience so much, were going to come back for the Thanksgiving cruise. Would recommend for anyone curious to try this out.

About the haunted Tour:This would be one of the better ways to see Pittsburgh downtown views if your are around for the first time. The tour was nicely organized with haunted theme. The stories that haunt Pittsburgh were not that interesting but some of them were good. If u haven’t heard about any haunted stories then maybe u would like this.

I went on the moon light cruise for a friends birthday. They served bbq chicken , baked beans, corn, coleslaw, and macaroni salad. Food was ok, there was a DJ he was ok, and security which was good. I parked across the street at the garage and it was 5 bucks. Nice views of the city at night. Overall good time to be out and cuz about❤️

Very stable. It was a rainy day with wind, but we barely feel the boat is moving. Nice buffet with unlimited wine, and dance party. It’s pretty to watch city during the night while cruising along the river. You will be able to see Casino, PNC baseball park.

I’ve been on the sightseeing cruise several times but this was my first dinner cruise. I was able to call a few hours ahead of sailing time and made reservations for a group of 5. The food was 5 stars. I was very impressed with our chicken breast and pork loins and all the sides were amazing. Dinner was buffet style and we were able to grab 2nd & 3rd plates before we started moving. We spent the rest the the time sitting on the top deck enjoying the views and facts of Pittsburgh the crew shared with us. We just so happened to be there the same time Elton John was performing at PNC Park and it was just awesome. It would still be awesome without Elton John .. HAHA but it was definitely a bonus. Thank you guys for remaining open after all the world has been through. We appreciated everyone that showed up to keep us safe and entertained. We will always come back.

We went on the Three River Cruise when we visited Pittsburgh last week. We originally got the tickets for Sunday, but they were calling for rain, so we were able to change our Tix for Friday instead. When we arrive, half an hour early, there were no more seats outside. We asked if we could take a few chairs outside and we were told we could as long as we returned them afterwards. Other ppl saw and did the same. No one was sitting inside, as the best views are from outside. Fully narrated. Rest Rooms. Snacks and drinks available for purchase.

Took the river boat tour last night with my wifes amazing Coworkers. Great time was had by all. The Capn kept up a steady stream of Pittsburgh factoids. They had drink service for the cruise. All in all, an hour well spent.

Overall, one of the absolute best ways to see the city of Pittsburgh! I attended one of the Captains Dinners. The food was good! The crew is kind and personable. The DJ was fun! The whole experience was a solid 10/10. A must do in Pittsburgh!

Loved this!! Got the sunset dinner cruise for my fiancee as a 50th birthday surprise and it was great. We loved it. The food was good the atmosphere was great and we had a very good time. Would highly recommend

Taking a cruise on the Gateway Clipper fleet is always nice way to enjoy the city. The dinner on our sunset cruise was delicious.

We got married on 08/20/2022 and had our reception on the Gateway Clipper. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we were very happy with how everything went. We started the planning process in 2021 with one event coordinator and then were transitioned to working with Megan when she took over that position. I feel that she picked up our coordination very easily and the transition was smooth.On the day of our wedding, we were assisted by Cruise Directors Gillian and Stormi. They were both awesome!! I cannot thank them enough for all that they did from helping our wedding party execute their entrances, to serving me the largest plate of mashed potatoes ever (at my request), and just generally making sure everyone was happy all night long.For any engaged couples looking into the Clipper, you should note that if you book with them, you are required to use their catering and their specific DJ company. We had no issues with this and were very happy with the food and entertainment for the evening, but if you were hoping to use a specific vendor, it is something you should be aware of.

Went for a sunset dinner cruise. Food was great. The staff were friendly and professional. Over all was impressed with the views offered.

Best time ever! The wine guy John made it so hilarious. His the best. The views from the boat were out of this world, literally a photographers dream. Great vibes, food and people. Chill environment.

Always neat taking a riverboat ride through a city. This sightseeing tour was no exception. Easy ticketing and boarding process. Comfortable seating in and outside. Amazing views, and our guide Rachel was top notch. She didn’t miss a beat and knew so much information.

Had so much fun!! I loved how they told you so much about some of the city that I never knew!

This is exactly what you would expect. Great information about the city and a cool way to see it but the boat itself needed some TLC. Im mostly talking about the spiders crawling all over the second deck.

Great experience. Probably 8pm tour is the best. Will do again.

My husband and I did the Wine Tasting cruise. It was a great experience! At $75 each, we thought it was a good value because it was unlimited wine tastings, unlimited buffet, and a 2 1/2 hour boat ride. The wine selection was excellent. The buffet wasn’t “out of this world” (a lot of options were simplistic), but it was still a good meal. We had a lot of fun and would definitely do it again.

So this was my first time on the Gateway Clipper and it was amazing. My wife and I had a great time. The crew was great, attentive, and fun. The food was good. We will be going back. Its a good value for the experience!

Lots of history and info from the narrator on the boat. A/C in the enclosed levels was nice on a 90F day. Not very busy on our tour, lots of options for seating. Boat was older and interior was dated but was fine overall.

It was a beautiful day to be on the river. Took family visiting from Florida. They loved it. The narration was great. We learned facts about Pittsburgh that were new to us. NOTE: veterans and active military, with military ID, are free and their guests are half price.

Went on the one hour sunset tour cruise on 7/8/22. From the gentleman I spoke to on the phone to gather more information to the crew on board, the experience was superb. The narrator did a great job. You can tell shes passionate and very knowledgeable. Definitely go on the last one, or depending upon what time of year it is, the one as the sun is setting. Seeing Pittsburgh light up was amazing.My only recommendation is to add another type of cruise, perhaps a two hour sunset one :as its too fun to only be an hour!

What a wonderful way to learn about Pittsburgh, the City of Bridges. It was so easy to buy tickets and the boat was lots of fun. Lots of good options for travelers of all ages and we loved our guide who combined the perfect amount of history, popular culture and local knowledge.

Very nice tour of the city! Clean deck only thing was it was hard to hear on the top deck but you get the best views from there!!!

this was a great tour the captin had jokes and gave us a wealth of knowledge about bridges and the waterways... we had a blast... the whole experience was fun but most of the ship dock was closed and we didnt have access to the lower deck felt like a missed experience. Also missing kid drinks so we had to buy large drinks for our little ones. Maybe add juice boxes and waters for all passengers included with tickets .. just a thought.

Awesome time! The guided tour on the happy hour cruise was very informative and Ive lived in Pittsburgh my entire life! The hour cruise is a perfect amount of time. The ship was perfectly populated. Not too crowded at all. Drinks were great and the staff were all super friendly! Highly recommend to visitors and folks native to Pittsburgh.

Fun little tour. A nice way to see a lot of the city from afar and learn about some of the Three Rivers history. Nice old school atmosphere inside and even better views from the outside. Full bar with refreshments on two different levels. I would recommend this tour as it’s only about an hour or so long.

The BEST way to tour Pittsburgh! The tour guide gives a lot of great knowledge and info about the city. You get a Birdseye view all of the things along the river front that you can’t see driving by. It was as great to see the three rivers right on the water. The boat has plenty of seating, air conditioning, full bar, and snacks.

Amazing experience and the narrative during the tour was very interesting and had a lot of information on the history of Pittsburgh.

This was a cool way to see downtown but I was very surprised at the odd little triangle it did. Essentially you see downtown from the river while someone talks you through what you are seeing sprinkled with a few decent facts and some poor jokes.

This was our 5th time on the Gateway Clippers dinner cruise. The dinner exceeded our expectations, the interior was clean & well organized & the views from the top deck was great, as always. Our fellow passengers on the top deck behaved themselves well: no drunks! I gave the cruise 4 stars in lieu of 5 because the "guide" did a rather poor description of "The Burgh", sketchy descriptions of the areas history, bridge descriptions & building descriptions & histories. Id do the narration myself as a volunteer if you want!

Very enjoyable! We took a 1-hour sightseeing cruise, and it was one of my favorite things we did on our Pittsburgh vacation. We traversed all 3 rivers and passed by all of the important sights, everything we were hoping to see. The narration was SO INTERESTING! We loved hearing all of the facts, funny information and historical stories. My teenage boys were kept interested the entire time. Great value for the money, a unique experience, and so entertaining.

Went on the 2hr dinner cruise. Everything about it was good. Price is just right, food was good (for a buffet). Service and personnel were top-notch. Views of the city from the river are awesome.

We had so much fun! We went on the Captains dinner cruise with three kids (8-12). We enjoyed just getting to relax on the top deck and view the sites. We would definitely do it again.

Pittsburgh is a great City and what better way to view it is from the waters! Gateway Clipper takes you down Monongahela River turns around and goes past the Point onto the Ohio River and onto the Allegheny River. It is only 1 hour, so if you end up in the long line for a drink better order two. Has 3 decks with the 3rd deck open air best way to enjoy weather permitting, though sitting inside watching from the windows isnt bad. Price is $30, best to buy a discount book online that has a BOGO sale just that alone pays for the book. Buy tickets online especially for weekend trips, they book fast, though you will have a hard time using your coupon that way, so get there early, get your tickets and head down to Hard Rock Café or one of the other restaurants there at Station Square for lunch, catch your boat and try the ride up the Incline to the Overlooks, it will be a great full fun day!

So our Mothers Day did not go as planned. Our cooking class was postponed so we had to make some last minute changes but we really enjoyed our laid back day in the city of Pittsburgh. We walked Station Square since it was only 4 minutes from Color Park. We enjoyed the sights of the city. We decided to take a nice scenic boat ride since its been ages since we rode the Gateway Clipper Fleet . We took the sightseeing tour which was an hour boat ride and they tell you about all the history of the bridges, monuments and buildings. The boat ride was very calm and so relaxing and it was great to see everything up close and we took some amazing photos of the city. It was 60.00 for the 2 of us total. Which equates to 29.99 a person. Children ages 1-12 are about 15.00 unless you do a themed cruise then its more. A friend of mine had invited me to go to the Second Chance Prom they were having on the Gateway Clipper. It was a fun experience! The views out on the water at night are amazing too. They do serve alcohol and have a limited food selection as well. The alcohol and food were pricy, but they do accept cash or card. I purchased a souvenir cup too and got a drink in it called a Pittsburgh Punch.

Had a blast on the sightseeing cruise my boyfriend and I took on Saturday afternoon! Loved it and would totally recommend it to friends and family. Learned so much history about Pittsburgh itself!!

Every Pittsburgher or visitor should take at least one cruise on the Gateway Clipper. So nice to see the city from different points of view. Out of towners loved it. Highly recommend!!

Nice little boat ride! Very relaxing but bring a sweater during the fall it gets chilly once it goes. They have snacks and drinks as well. Great way to see Pittsburgh from the river.

If you are in Pittsburgh on business or just have one night to spend in town this is a great way to see the city and get a taste of the town from the gorgeous views on the water. Just educational enough to be entertaining and not boring and just funny enough to be amused without being corny. Really glad we did this!

The staff and the tour itself was good however they had one person working the bar /snack bar. If you wanted a drink it was at least a 20 minute wait on the first deck of one hour sight seeing cruise. Sorry not spending a third of my time below deck waiting in line for an over priced drink. Also it was the one persons second day which certainly didnt help the line situation.If you have a few hundred people on board have more than one bar open and more than one person working it.

Took a 2 hour tour of the 3 rivers. It was close to 100 bucks for a family of 4. We got to see both stadiums, incline plane, and some cool bridges. Highly recommend.

Great way to see the City of Pittsburgh!! They also offer rides to Steeler and Pirates games as well as Dinner Cruises and even Moonlight Dance Cruises. They do it all!!

Oh my goodness! First of all, this was my first time on a boat bigger than 20 feet long, so pardon my child like excitement. Now then, I will start with saying they run the cruises rain or shine, due to the option to be indoors or outdoors on the boats. It was easy enough to locate. Be sure you call to check for sailing times, because the times on the website are not always completely accurate. I went on a Sunday evening, at 8pm on a sightseeing cruise with cocktails. The narration was entertaining and informative, the snacks were plenty for the hour long excursion, and the drinks were, I was told by many, tasty and stout. I highly recommend this for date night, families, or anyone in Pittsburgh that has never tried it before. Also, if you get your tickets early, there is a few restaurants down the block that are great places to spend killing time. Most importantly, check out this amazing picture I got of the sunset! The next time I am in town I hope to try out either the dinner or party cruise.

Midnight cruise is a legit PARTY. Inside is hot, so dress accordingly. Get there early so you can enjoy some of the included food first. And get a drink asap cause the line takes FOREVER. So fun and absolutely stunning. What a great time!
