Gate City Sports Grille - American restaurant in Greensboro, United States
Great service but the food was really not what I expected
Ok experience, its a hotel bar. Best for beers and simple cocktails.
I like how cozy it is here. The salad was ok compared to my other American salad experiences. Service was good too.
Reminded me of my elementary school cafeteria. One beer on draft, service was very slow. Wont come back
Really good hotel bar, great prices and service
I ordered the legacy wings. They were undercooked. Still pink in the middle.
Slow service but great food.
Horrible Service! My husband and I took our family of 9 out to dinner here and had the worst service! After drinks and appetizers we waited almost 2 hours for our food after putting the order in! My husband finally found the waitress and asked what happened to our food, she responded "let me check . The waitress comes back and states "the order wasnt back there and she would have to take our orders again". If it were not so late in the evening and my husband and I didnt have guests we would have certainly walked out after the first hour. Trying to salvage the evening my husband asked for a manager who came to the table and took our dinner order a second time. By then it was over 3 hours from start to finish!
Part of one of the best hotel chains out there...
Great tasting food
Food was good but there was only one server. Nice but overwhelmed.
Such a bad experience. They had ONE waitress running around all by herself, INCLUDING running food up to rooms in the hotel for room service. Its not her fault, but wow. Absolutely awful service and very mediocre food. Will not be returning and would never reccomend. We also found a sticker of an apple attached to our food?? Very bizarre and negligent. I would give zero stars if I could.
Strawberry lemon martini was amazing and the cajun chicken salad wrap was delicious !!!
Enjoyed our breakfast buffet. Staff was very nice & service efficient. Omelets cooked to order as requested. Located in Greensboro Doubletree where we spent the previous night. Hotel & grill very clean and all staff friendly & helpful.
Very good chicken wings
Wish I never went in there. Every thing sucked , beer hot , food cold
Lies.... need to change hours you DO NOT stay open until 12
Good food, especially the Cajun Chicken salad. Good for groups
After my husnd and I got our drinks and ordered, we sat there at least 45 minutes while watching our waiter attend to a particular table. I finally got her attention and ordered another round. While setting ther about another 40 minutes I watchedour server attend to the same particular table, andI saw a group of 5 leave because they were standing so long waiting to be seated. There is no sign saying to plesse seat yourself but it was obvious that is what they wete waiting for. We continued to esit on our drinks and food until we were fed up!We walked up to the bar to pay for our two drinks and the server wss up there and apologized and said the drinks were on her. We left.
Basic, mid-cost hotel bar food. Limited menu. People I was with ordered the ribs and didnt like them, the burger, house salad, and mozzarella sticks were a hit with our group. Probably would try a different restaurant in the area instead of going back.
I will never step foot in the establishment again! Never have I or my party been humiliated and blatantly discriminated against in my life! Never mind the fact that we had reservations!
New waitress, I hope. The manager? did her best to make up for the lack of service. Goodness good and no wait on a weekend night. Well probably try it again.
Menu change definitely not j butlers and water down drinks
Been here twice now and both times the food was pretty good but service was just mediocre. They were not busy on either visit, in fact the dining room section was completely empty. I ate here because of convenience to the hotel and you can get a decent meal at a decent price.
2.5 stars. Food is decent, drinks are more sweet than alcohol.
Excellent service and was great for a large group of hungry, rowdy bassheads. 👍👍
I enjoy this restaurant most visits. Their fish and chips are very good and the club sandwich is very good also. I think they do alot of their business with room service for the hotel they are attached to but the benifit to that is there usually is no wait time.
Nice place good food
Food was really good but the service sucks and they switch to apps only at 9 without any warning which is disappointing.
Always friendly, can view sports and have really good live music on Thursday!
Food was terrible. They changed the menu. It was not for the better
Was assured by the front desk staff that the burgers here were as good as anywhere else in the city. I hope thats a mustruth, bc the burgers were mediocre and best. Service was slow. Drinks were small. Should have gotten back in the car.
Breanna waited on us in the Kernersville JButlers location. She was very attentive and went out of her way to accommodate us. AND the food was very good!
Changed the name of the place and would not take out coupon...
Great food clean environment
In terms of restaurants connected to hotels, I expect decent food with passable service with higher than merited prices. I went later in the evening and picked a seat at the bar. I was promptly greeted by a cordial server, Lois who took my drink order. I will say this, Lois was very attentive, even anticipated what I may want. She was more than I expected. The food was about what I expected. The fajita salad was mostly iceberg lettuce. The pico wasnt very tasteful, but overall the salad worked. The best part of the salad was the steak which was flavored well (maybe too much for others, but after a full day of work and travel, I appreciated itand actually cooked medium (ok maybe a little medium rare). Three stars is about what I expect. Lois, especially, and the steak bumped it up to four for me.
Good food and great prices!!
Good and getting better . My experience was great. Hiltons are always good.
I like to go there Tuesdays between 3-6pm to get the 75 cent steamed oysters. They also have steamed shrimp and wings on special during that time. It is all delicious. The servers are friendly too.
I use to get great food from this restaurant; however, the last two times I ordered the food was terrible or over charged for what I ordered. (1I ordered a $6.99 lunch special and was charged $8.99. Today, I ordered the same thing and was charged $9.60; however, the food was not edible. The hot chips were placed in the container with chicken strips so they were soggy & chewy to say the least! The chicken tenders were over cooked and now I am soooo over spending my money here again! I guess good help is hard to find.
Food ok. Service great. Travelling so much, having a place in the hotel is a plus
I wish Id read the reviews before eating at JButlers. Service was SLOW and they had no customers. Food was Below Average considering $$$. Would had been better off ordering delivery to the Doubletree.
Good for drinks only! Food is horible
Service good. Waiter had great sense of humor. Steak and pastrami sandwiches good not great.
Good drink specials but I advise you not to eat anything at all. Theres a Hooters across the street, go there.
I only had a beer here and it was a pretty bleak situation. The bartender kept talking to her friends (who were customers at the bar, mor of which kept showing up), and was inattentive to much else. And given the extreme daily discounts on the more perishable food items, I would think twice about ordering food.
Went there tonight waited for more than 10 minutes no staff ever talked to us the people behind the bar saw us but just walked away
A few hints to J Butlers from someone who used to work in the restaurant industry: When there is a giant concert for several nights a few miles away, have more than your normal Sunday night staff working. Also, dont ignore someone at the hostess station for 15 minutes, walk over, tell them you just need to clean a table, have someone else walk over and claim its a 20 minute wait and then have ANOTHER person (a manager!!walk over and tell us its a 45 minute wait...especially when there are multiple tables open.My shrimp salad came out with a few overcooked popcorn shrimp thrown on some bagged salad without any extras. The waiter was in such a rush, he threw our food on the table, spilling my dressing, my husbands dressing, and my friends chili (which she sent back because it looked like it had been sitting out for a few hours). We never got our waters refilled and my husband had to stalk our waiter at the bar to get us our checks. The waiter looked at him, ignored him, and walked right past him to another table. When he finally did show up to our table, before we could say anything, he took my husbands hardly touched food before he was finished with it! I had to yell to have him bring it back.Never again. Not when there is a Hams down the street that never disappoints or 10 other restaurants that wont act like were a bother when we show up with money to spend.
Out of draft beer that I like service was ok at best kind of a iffy crowd for the food we got we would have been better off going to hooters across the street there are much better restaurants in this area
Wings are good. A little slow on service sometimes.
