Small destination featuring rotating displays of classic cars, trucks & motorcycles.
We visited many years ago in the evening. Didnt see or feel any paranormal activity but when got home and looked at photos we were shocked. The last photo we took of the stairs on the way out the door had a hug orb coming down the stairs with a man face in it.
a step back in time in San Diego - a house from a different time. easy to walk thru in 30-45 min. downstairs as additional interesting period items.
I had a great time.
Visited here 07/21. I wish I could give this place more than five stars. I love historical homes that feel like a time capsule. And at $8 for admission (which they could easily charge doubleyou cant go wrong. Tours are self-guided with a flyer that gives you info on each of the rooms with furniture that date throughout the history the home was in use. I would love to do a guided tour next time Im in San Diego or a haunted tour. They have a lovely little gift shop before you leave.
A lovely small museum with friendly and knowledgeable docents. Better for older kids, but my younger ones also enjoyed visiting "a real old haunted house."
This place is not worth the money. I thought it was bigger than it actually was. I would love of knowing before hand mask were required. This is not worth hype true crime and paranormal fans.
Its a great museum to go visit. Lots of history in this house.
Haunted? Maybe. However some of the "activity" comes down to the floorboards rocking chairs as you step near them. It is a great piece of San Diego history, however. I recommend giving it your patronage based on the historic merits of the home. If you happen to see any ghosts, that is an added bonus.
Very cool. Its only $8 to walk around the house. Many old treasures to see.
Very nice historical walking tours available with a Victorian period, costumed guide. Highly recommended!
Exciting, fun, informative. And there was activity in the house🥰 shout out to Dante with Haunted San Diego Ghost Tours. Covid19 compliant, DONT TOUCH ANYTHING! take all the pictures and videos you want. Keep your phones on vibrate/silent when doing tours.
Must see. Small but quaint. Packed with information about San Diegos rich history. Great audio tour. Particularly enjoyed the antiques in the kitchen. Dont forget to visit Bum the Dog!
It was so interesting!!! Loved the history...Who knew!! I have lived in San Diego since 1969 but never knew about this historical place until about 5 years ago!!! So important to know and be able to experience San Diegos past! Plus it is incredibly haunted. While taking a picture of my friends in the courtyard, there were hundreds of orbs around them in the photo !!
Went on 5/11/2021 and it was closed. Only open for walk ins Friday and Saturday. In 1981 I worked on the property that the house was located on and the owner of the business donated it to the city. I watched the move and have other tidbits of information about it I wanted to share.
Its so amazing this place is still around. Must see museum.
Smells looks like it was abandon then, they tried to restore with stuff they found at a garage sales. Sorry. But true
Nice place to learn about the history of the Gaslamp. Staff is friendly.
The man who built San Diego. Fascinating, as all such visionaries are!
Great historic location, if you dont know the history; Google it.
Not handicapped accessible.
Did a haunted tour here at night and it was spooky
A waste of time and money and an unpleasant experience to boot. All the rooms are roped off, plenty of folks skipped admission which was in a crammed office off to the left, and there were literally a dozen homeless people ornamenting the lawn, not even speaking to one another. You could tell they just lived there because it smelled like their bathroom.
Great place to get to a bit of San Diegos history
Nice b Littlebpark across from Grand Horton hotel.
It was nice to see but a bit small.
Beautiful little Pizza West Coast history
Nice heritage home well preserved. Interesting displays and collections. A nice chill place to visit as part of a walk through downtown.
It was okay but there is a good self guide leaflet.
Nice museum that gives a peek into the history of an important San Diego family, but also on life in the late 1800s/early 1900s.
Interesting bit of San Diego history. Good for a 20-30 minute visit.
Fantastic location. Small but definitely a must if you are into history. Excellent staff.
Nice to sit and enjoy the veiw
Interesting place to visit.
Low price, lots of interesting things to see
I love this old house downtown. Easily overlooked but worth the look around inside. So much history. Brochures explain each room inside or do the audio tour. This can be a quick visit in 30 min. Very cheap to enter. Oldest house downtown San Diego. Its also HAUNTED and been on TV for its hauntings. Two story fully furnished from 1800s.
Great museum of Gaslamp and courtyard park
Its a beautiful house with a thick history about ghosts. I had goosebumps while walking across the bathroom and hospital room, the 🎹 was creepy, too. Scary, but you need to visit once!
I really enjoyed touring the oldest house in the gaslamp. It has a very interesting history and is worth the small donation! A must see when visiting San Diego!
Very interesting tour. I wish Id gotten the book now.
Somewhat interesting, but not very informative.
Nice time capsule of late 1800s
Nice old home. Set up through the different periods of time it was inhabited.
Indifferent staff that was doing cleaning and vacuuming during the tour.
It will start out with the positive, it was great to see some the historic places on the walking tour, the guide gave good historic facts about the surroundings. As a medium and a paranormal investigator I was in awe of the fake gestures and lies told to make this seem better than the boring waste it was. The guide actually had everyone download a "ghost app" on their phones so they could see the ghosts around them, when the app would shout out a random name the guide would say, oh ya they visit often. Seriously!!! I saw two spirits while on the tour, one inside the museum the the guide (a self proclaimed paranormal investigator and experienced ghost communicatornever acknowledged at all, and the other in one of the other buildings we were observing. When asked why the group didnt get any responses while they were using the investigation equipment and only when she did, she said, "They know me" they wont always communicate with strangers and "They must be tired, they just arent active tonight." I was so disappointed! I was hoping my friend that was with me could experience something paranormal. Dont waste your money!!!! They were late starting and people actually left the group because of the B.S.
Fun and lots of history about San Diego
Just one house but the kids loved it!!
You shouldnt have to pay to visit a house!
Well educated people present an incredibly well preserved piece of history.
Explore your history about the history of this house. They say things get active in this house also. The look & feel of it is like youre back in that time. Go check it out if you like spirits & history.
Outstanding piece of San Diego! Staff is well informed and gracious.
