Garryduff Woods in Cork
Description
Privilege
Lovely weather and walking the path is quite uneven so wear sturdy footwear
Amazing place to practice for upcoming n trekking ;)
Fantastic place to go for a walk. Could spend hours in there and so close to the city.
MoreGreat place for a walk. Its also good for riders of mountain bikes.
Perfect small forest walk outskirts of the city
Fabulous sanctuary just minutes from civilisation
A great place of relaxation taking you far from the noise of the human world. Even on a dull rainy day you can hear the woods is alive as its getting greener with every raindrop...
MoreNice place to be with Nature. You can actually immerse yourself in nature here as it is not very crowded and provides alternative routes which are secluded and gives you privacy be on your own while trekking. There is a cafe on the entrance which I believe opens on weekends. My only grief is regarding the lack of proper parking here. If that could be sorted then this could turn into a major attraction!..
MoreA lovely pitch &Put cores
Great course theres other sports places there like Tennis pitch and putt etc
Me encanta 😊
Nice place to a walk in the trees.
Great for an interesting walk.
Great loop walk. Several paths, quite rough at the top but the view over the city is superb
MoreA wonderful facility close to the city, with varied selection of paths. The main paths are gravel surfaced and suitable for all. Several other paths to choose from, which branch of the surfaced paths in all direction. The topography of the area means to can choose steeper paths if you wish to burn off a few extra calories, or just meander along, closer to the streams that run through the woods. Excellent variety, for walking dogs or just a breath of fresh air!!
MoreGreat walks.
I used Google Maps and I was both to a pathway and parked here. The walkway down to the woods is rough and uninteresting. Alot could be done to address the ambiance of the area. There is a deep decline down and of course then a steep incline on the way back. The woods, once you get down are lovely and lovely to hear water flowing. Paths are muddy and full of leaves so watch you footing. Maybe you could park at Garryduff Sports Complex. Not wheelchair friendly
MoreFab walk/woods adventure. We have a dog and its excellent for dogs to explore. Happy to leave dog off lead as you can get area which are very quiet .they also have a little coffee pod
MoreBeautiful walking/hiking area, nice paths for bikes, lovely cold river, lots of trails.
MoreI was told to get off the land. It is private property, so I would not advise people to go there. It was just me and my 3 kids looking for a nice walk.
MoreExcellent
Adorable woods to explore. Great day out for all the family. Kids would enjoy adventure as its so much fun claiming, exploring and have fun.Problem with parking. but worth to go.
MoreGood for nice little walks!
Im feeling so good any time Im coming to this Spot, walking, running or cycling.
This is an interesting place. It provides an excellent walk through a variety of paths with different terrain. Id recommend hiking boots of going off track as the paths tended to be seriously muddy in places. The wall lacks any decent sign posting but you can get the information you need by asking walkers if you meet them. The trek tends to rise up a moderately steep hill and doubles back on a lower loop near a delightful stream. Parking at the start of the trail is very limited and this might be a problem on a busy day as the trail starts near a moan road and there will be nowhere to leave your car. The walk could be greatly improved with a few wooden seated areas at selected points, some signposting and a few information/map stations. The forest feels old and authentic and Im looking forward to exploring it again. Kids 6+ should manage the trail easily enough.Unfortunately, the somewhat beautiful and old forest has been desecrated and all that is left where once was lush forest, are stumps and what looks like a wasteland after a nuclear explosion.
MorePerfect place for a walking with the dog.
Stunning walk
The top part of the woods is being cut down due, to the many of the trees being wind damaged but, they are being replanted so all is good.
MoreExcellent place for forest bathing, nice trail from easy to moderate hike. Better to have your boots on when visiting this area. Enjoyed hearing the sounds of nature here, definitely a peaceful beautiful place to relax and unwind!
MoreNo signs showing any paths or distances. A beautiful walk though
Beautiful place to go for a walk with my dog. Highly recommend!
Lovely park. Could do with some better signposting.
Peace and Quiet, its free to enter and completely unspoilt by modern standards and its walking distance for me and my 🐕
MoreNice walk, wild, trails is good, close to city centre. Small parking.
Superbe forêt, très paisible. Jai apprécié me promener la bas
Fabulous place, quiet, scenic, great for dogs too.
Fantastic place, so wild yet so close;)
Absolutely stunning
Dry and pleasant. Trails in good condition
Great woods for everyone. Walkers and mountainbikers and explorers and adventurers. Get out of the house and have a wee look for yourself
MoreNice place to walk your dog or take a stroll on your own.
Always wet and soggy, but fun and filthy
Great place for a hike ! My dog loves it!
Stunning bit of forest, and the only proper woodland writhing half an hour of cork city to walk through.
MoreGreat facility so near to Douglas and not well known. Large area of woodlands with a number of paths. Some are fairly level, others more hilly. Wear good walking shoes especially if its been wet. One entrance is near Garryduff sports grounds. Theres also a right of way from the corner half way up Monastery Road, along part of the drive of Oldcourt (locals ignore the sign at the gateand then right into the first obvious wide path.
MoreLovely place for walk
Its great to spend a Sunday or just a day off outside or far away from the crowd. We really need to breath fresh air now more than ever since we spend at least more than half of ours days indoors. Gurryduff woods is a nice place for that.
MoreGreat place for MTB
