Garden Route Trail Park in Knysna
Description
Privilege
What an incredible MTB facility!
Awesome place and vibe.We went and rented a bike, all organized by Eugene Roux (with the help of Raldu from Jamin Adventures). We slept in the comfortable dorm. The trails are really fun and the kids dont want to leave the pump track. And yes, great carrot cake!
MoreLove the new upgrades to the ablution blocks and the fact that the shop now offers toasted sarmies! Best trails in the Garden Route area for any mountain biker
MoreWe only stop here for coffee and carrot-cake and its the best you will find. This is a must stop.
MoreTrails a bit burnt after heavy rains but the trail design and overall upkeep is worth it, it just keeps flowing
More*Beautiful trails in a safe environment.Trails are marked well, cleaned and maintained regularly 🌲Awesome pump track! 🚴♀️The best carrot cake 🎂🥕Great climbs and downhills
MoreWell built and maintained trails and tracksA few accommodation options and more on the way. Great Coffee and Carrot Cake at the Trail CafeHighly recommend
MoreA must do experience if you enjoy mountain biking and nature, the trail descriptions are a little forgiving, the trails are actually harder than indicated but a great experience.
MoreExcellent backpacker place.Neat and clean with Wi-Fi.
Great place, trails are very well made. Pump track and jump park is great for skill progression and warming up.
MoreLiving on the farm, with the quiet, peaceful, beautiful, lush green bush field around you. How can it get better?
MoreLovely riding for riders who like technical single tracks. Not my cup of tea. Park is well organised and trails well maintained.
MoreIncredible place👌🚲worth any distance travelled getting there.Google map business hours indicated are up to date if youre considering driving from outlying areas.
MoreBeautiful trails
Beautiful, scenic trails, fun single track sections
Amazing maze of well-constructed single tracks. Needed a bit of track clearing after the recent strong winds. Loads of fun for all ages and skill levels.
MoreOne of the Best places in the Garden Route to ride. Endless kms of Well made singletrack. Very good coffee at the Trail Cafe
MoreGreat park with awesome trails through various terrain from mountains to jungles. You MUST have the carrot cake. Youll thank me for the tip!
MoreAwesome trails. Some sections that flow so well. I did get a little confused with the markings. Was busy with one trail and ended up on two other ones. But glad I did. I really enjoyed everything. Some steep climbs featuring switchbacks. Payment for a day permit is a little different. You need to download the mysos app and pay using the app which was not working so I had to EFT. But afterwards there is a repair station, bike wash station, showers, even a pool. The pump track is a lot of fun but O lack the skill. And there are some big jumps as well. I would love to see someone take them on.
MoreYou have to try this park if you are in the area. Long trails, wild nature, wonderful featured and stunning views. It has it all!
MoreBy far the best MTB trails in the country, even despite the tumultuous and fiery history the area has endured. Trails are immaculately manicured, incredibly exciting, the trail surface is predictable, and the surrounding indigenous forest is majestic. The vibe at the clubhouse is awesome, and the carrot cake is delicious. Make a day of it and try to stack all 4 of the main routes on top of each other. Cant wait to go back
MoreWe arrived after a storm.. unfortunately we werent able to ride all the trails due to destruction from high winds.. but the farmer and owner were extremely helpful and got up the following morning to clear some trails for us. We had a joll and will be back for sure. Great spot.
MoreSuperb variety of terrain, surroundings and features. Favourite ride yet! Topped with great coffee and carrot cake 👌
MoreBeautifully built MTB trails, Id highly recommend a visit!
What a awesome training camp with Michard Meets ....downhill mtb ...Mrt 2021...Well done...
MoreMost enjoyable single track evvvvva. But boys / ladies the track needs some love. Fallen branches and trees (that seems like they have been there for a while . Burms with channels in them. Trail bords that just stop appearing ( I rode the jungle mania - red Take care of your park as it is brilliant but you can only take rustic that far
MoreTons of singletrack to ride, but make sure you have reasonable technical skills as some of the roots and off camber corners can be tricky.Really fun trails though without too much climbing.
MoreStunning park riding for riders of all skill levels and just beautiful views
Awesome ride . Some very technical bits ! Beautiful scenery . Lekker carrot cake and ice cold drinks . There is a small pool and a outdoor shower after the ride . No alcohol , but you can take your own cooler .
MoreBeautiful place to escape and go for a run. Unfortunately, the trail run route is not marked clearly, adding a lekker 2km to our run.Otherwise, beautiful scenery, easily accessible and friendly staff.
MoreWe rode this trail on a quiet Monday morning and had the whole Park to ourselves. What a great ride! Trails are well kept, signage is good and the terrain is superb. The best flowing downhills youll ride! The facilities are also top notch, with a great pool to cool off in after your ride and showers/changeroon/bike wash as well as a great coffee/drinks/food all available. A wonderful experience!
MoreThe perfect location for a biking experience like none other in the Garden Route.
MoreLove coming here but sad to spend R100 on unkept trails with sticks and trees all over the trails. It wouldn’t take much to just go around and pick up fallen or overgrown branches on the trails. Especially when you charge quite a lot for people to ride.Other than that it’s beautiful and most of the trails are fun.Paying for a permit or a cool drink is all done through the MY SOS app which is fine but a bit of a mission.A simple SnapScan code on the wall would go a long way.Lots of potential but sadly lacking in organization.Routes are well- marked.
MoreWe love the trails here. Nothing beats it but were a bit disapointed today. The trails markings were not great. We double looped one section and could only find one sign for Forest Fever. Parts of the trail were also unkept with trees lying over the path and clearly for some time. The bathrooms were messy and the bike washing area defunct. We had to make our own plan to wash bikes and there was no one to assist.
MoreAttended the Jungle Rush at this venue and found the course very well put together and the team running the park extremely knowledgeable. The venue has a large local following and the atmosphere is fun and easy going.
MoreReally great facilities and trails. Awesome coffee. A few more technical features in the trails would be welcome. I did the Forest Frenzy. Will be back again!
MoreBeautiful setting & thrilling tracks that are open all year round. Theres also a Cafe, bike cleaning and repair stations as well as showers if you get back all dirty... Cafe is closed on public holidays but trails are always open. Check out their website for detailed info.
MoreReally great MTB tracks and pump track for kids of all ages... even 50 year old kids 😎
MoreWhat a find, trails galore, fast and flowing and challenging depending on what one feels like, the Garden Route is lucky to have a Park of this calibre
MoreBrilliantly laid out trails that make excellent use of the terrain. The park has managed to squeeze in a lot of trail for the size of the park. There is also a good variation in style with a range of trials to suit your tastes. The cafe does excellent coffee.
MoreCarrot cake a bit dry. Delicious milkshakes – I had the Nutella one (photographs). Lovely sunny holiday vibe and good breakfast croissants. Awesome bike trails but also open for light lunch. Great pump track. Perfect active family outing. Theres a small unconventional pool for cooling down.
MoreOff road cyclist heaven in the dirt. And the best bacon & scrambled eggs Ive had in a long time.
MoreOne of the best mountain bike trails park in South Africa. Good facilities having a well run restaurant, showers and a skills area. The trails are marked very well and provide challenging but beautiful riding. The adrenaline junkies will love some of the trails. Overall a very good experience.
MoreThis place had the best trails and the next level carrot cake.
The ultimate trail experience in South Africa!Multiple routes to choose from, but I do highly recommend Mountain Mania if flowing downhill is what you are after. There is also a pump track to test your skills on and dirt jumps for the brave.A café for refreshments, with tables and rustic swimming pool is situated at the trail head.Accommodation can be booked for extended trips.
MoreFantastic trails with a brilliant set up at the start/finish. We were really impressive with how well this was run and maintained. Great for rides from beginners not more advanced and adventurous riders then stop for a coffee and breakfast afterwards
MoreBest mtb trails I have ever ridden! I will be back in a few days and will definitely get the year pass instead of the day pass! Will make a point of it to come here everytime we are in the area!
MoreCan only speak of accommodation for backpackers as I didnt do any trails.Clean. Basic. But good value for money. The setting is great and the owner went out of his way to make our stay good by doing cheap breakfast on a day the coffee shop should have been closed. The social area was awesome.Bathroom facilities was the only draw back since it is fairly open and we visited in winter so the cold draft while wet was unpleasant.
MoreFantastic trail riding! Short hard climb with long flowing downhill ride.
One of the best mountain biking locations I have been to!
