Garbutt's Fishing Lodge in Livingston
Description
Privilege
These guides are fun and they put us on fish!!!
Great weather and beautiful but not much fish yesterday, trying again today.
I came here on a Study Abroad with UA and had a great time out at Lime Caye with some incredible guides and tasty food!
MoreGetting a great guide is the main ingredient to a successful fishing trip AND Eworth Garbutt is a great guide! This was my first salt water fishing experience and while I have cast for many trout over the years, landed more than my share of coho, practiced specifically for this trip, and paid for casting lessons, Eworth was by far the best coach and teacher. He worked patiently improving my distance, accuracy and speed to deliver the fly (reducing the number of false casts). On this trip I landed Snook, barracuda, permit, bone fish and tarpon. I would repeat this trip again, in a heart beat. As any flyfisherperson knows, hitting the grand slam (bone, permit & tarponis a big deal and on my third trip out with Eworth we hit the grand slam. He is fair and friendly. I would say... if you can book a trip with Eworth, BOOK IT NOW!
MoreGreat guides and a really nice boat! Thank you for the great experience! Im looking forward to returning.
MoreGreat place super people. Pristine fishing area. Permit, permit permit! 🎣🎣
MoreReally love this place its the best spot to book a flyfishing trip ...
I spent a week fishing with Ollie Garbutt and he is one of the best guides Ive ever fished with. I will definitely be back.
Moreawesome place
Garbutts fishing lodge is embedded between lagoon and sea. So you get to explore both worlds. They also carry all natural Belize made products🙂
MoreBrandon and Tyler gave our family the greatest fishing experience! You better Belize it! Very responsive to assist us with a fish on or when fishing "on credit". Would highly recommend these expert guides and friendly guys!
MoreBest fishing in Belize
Great
We didnt sleep at this lodge - we just took a day trip with them. Our boat captain "snake" was awesome and we had a great trip to Snake Cayes for snorkeling. Bring Bug Spray!!! We got eaten alive by tiny sand flies on one of the islands and had to retreat back into the boat. Parts of the ride can get pretty bumpy depending on weather, so be prepared. We stopped at 2 different snorkel spots. The first was nice with some reefs and small fish and some different and beautiful jellyfish. The second spot was amazing - we saw beautiful Eagles rays swimming around us, and a huge barracuda. We had lunch on another island after, and enjoyed the boat ride back.
MoreI enjoyed our quarters. I enjoyed especially enjoying sunrise and yellow crowned night herons.
MoreA very nice place for people that like the water
Super nice staff. Additionally to all the tours they provide you can rent kayaks and canoes to go explore the river
MoreAmazing venture to Lime Caye for the weekend with my Hillside crew. Reasonable price. Great experience.
MoreGreat services
I traveled to Punta Gorda and specifically to Garbutts with three friends in late March/early April. Like most people who visit, we were in search of some permit and had heard that Garbutts was the place to find them, and they were right. Everyone in our group landed at least one permit during the four days we were there, and another guest landed an almost unheard of six fish in a single day. Garbutts is a family run business, and they treat you like you are part of their family from the moment you arrive to the time you leave. Dennis is the resort manager and he makes sure every detail is attended to eagerly and happily. His brothers Scully and Oliver, along with their cousin Yogi and their Uncle Vic, are all expert guides who have been fishing these waters their entire lives. And Dennis sister Betty prepares amazing dinners to go with the breakfasts and lunches that are packed onboard each boat for the days adventures. Long story short, and as the photos attest, this is a first class fishing lodge and a world class Permit fishery that I will return to again and again.
MoreOur group of 10 booked a trip to Lime Caye with Garbutts. It was fantastic! It was a 1.5 hour boat ride to the island where we saw pilot whales along the way. The island is perfect with beautiful clear blue waters, white sandy beaches. For $120 usd, we had a weekend of delicious meals, prime snorkeling on the barrier reef, fishing and great cabins for lodging. This is a private island for your group and is truly a once in a lifetime experience!
MoreBest place to get away in the south. Has a tranquil view from your veranda you and the Caribbean sea. Owner is friendly and they are the top fly fishing guides. They also offer regular fishing and a private island with the most beautiful blue water in this region if you dont want to stay at the in town cabins.
MoreThe place is great.love it they teach you how to use the equipments.
