Gam Tu Bop - Asian fusion restaurant in Glendale, United States
It was my first time trying rice balls & they were great!! literally went back for seconds within 30mins lol If youve ever been enticed by rice balls in anime, give this place a try. You wont be disappointed
I LOVE this place. So filling!
Really unique spot. There is no dining at the moment when we got there. I think salmon rice ball was my favorite.
Affordable and taste good but TO GO ONLY, NO DINE IN π and No public restroom either. π
Sort of messey food but they dont inclue NO utensils or NO napkinsIts by law they say but there are no signsIt would have been nice to be askedAsk for napkins and utensils
Tasty affordable rice balls with generous amounts of various Japanese and Korean fillings! This place is so good its literally always my first stop when I drive in from Sacramento. My favorites are spicy shrimp, beef bulgogi, unagi (eel), spicy pork and kim chee. I love that the rice balls are individually wrapped and labeled and the nori (seaweedto wrap them in is packaged separately. I love that its Korean nori too.Great for takeout, travels well, fast friendly service. To go orders only. If you cant find parking out front there is a parking structure just around the corner that gives you free parking for the first 90 minutes.
Arrived 20ish minutes before closing time. They were out of chicken curry omosubi by then. The guy behind the counter was helpful. Of the rice balls I had, spicy shrimp was best. The bulgogi (beefwas good, but not really bulgogi, just in our opinion. The spicy pork was spicy, but Im less tolerant of spiciness than my family.
Food is good and the people are working non stop, Order online, wait times can be 20-30min if you dont
Wow, the rice balls are incredibly delicious! The beef one was by far my favorite one. Rich in flavor. Spicy shrimp was second best and Iβd probably substitute the crab meat for a different flavor next time. 10/10Cheap and well packaged. Loved the salted seaweed.
I came in to pick food up really fast, and didnt realize my mask wasnt on. I couldnt find it so I used my shirt to cover my nose and mouth. However, the person up front was very rude saying "you cant come in without covering your face" despite covering my face with my shirt which was a sweatshirt. I wont come here again considering how rudely I was treated, even complying with the rules.
I came in at 7:38 pm to order some rice balls because I heard they were darn good. Instead, I was sent leaving empty handed because βthe kitchen was closed.β Thanks for nothing.
Good rice balls. Would be better if they had a brown rice option π
One of the best rice ball places on Earth. Very friendly service and also super quick on the food time. Love this place and definitely coming back again and again!
Amazing food in the area. If you want a quick, delicious and flavorful bite this is the place to go. I absolutely adore the flavor. I will be coming back for more!
Ive never had onigiri before until I saw it on anime and wanted to try it. This place was close by, and it was very enjoyable! The food prices were a bit high for my preference, though, for such a small amount of food.
I love this place! The rice balls are very good and they package it very well for travel . Park on the street or there are public parking lots. I really like the mushroom and unagi. 3 Rice ball combo is a great deal.
The rice balls are great! You cant go wrong with any of the flavors, but my favorite are the beef, teriyaki chicken, and curry chicken.
Wow! A great find in a huge row of food available. This is more of a quick fix shop. I highly recommend the shrimp & beef onigiri (rice ball). The salmon is overcooked and underwhelming. The tamago (eggis okay.
Awesome spot, I wish there was a spot like this where I live in Glendora. My favorites are the chicken curry and beef teriyaki so far. Cant wait to try the others! Would def come back!THEY HAVE MUSUBI AS WELL!!!!
An onigiri shop in Glendale, yes please!!! Delicious, filling, artisan onigiri that comes out quick and fresh. There are many types to choose from and after the first two, I will be back to try out MOST of the rest. And they seem to have two interesting specials available, but the price wasnt clearly given so I didnt go for it
We stopped in here for lunch because we saw that they served rice balls, which we had never even heard of. I ordered a shrimp with spicy mayo ball and wow....was it ever good!! It was wrapped in a thin slice of seaweed that was firm and almost crisp that acted like a taco shell. Even that was delicious, and Im not a huge fan of seaweed. We leave to go back home tmw and I really wish I had tried this place a week ago! We could have eaten there several times!
The. Best. Onigiri. I. Have. Had. Period. Anyone going through the Americana Mall owes it to themselves to check this restaurant out. They wont be disappointed!!
This place is the perfect lunch spot, if youre in the area. Very simple, easy to understand menu with good prices. Usually plenty of seating, and Ive never been kept waiting for my food.I usually get the curry chicken, salmon, or spicy shrimp rice balls. The crab is pretty good too. Dont get the tuna expecting sushi quality tuna-- its more like cooked tuna from a can.Arguably the best quick bite in Glendale. I could go here every week.
Really enjoyed the rice balls here. My favorite is probably the beef or the spicy shrimp. A good place to go for lunch or a quick snack.
Gam tu bop is a really great place for food---one of my favorite in Glendale. They specialize in Onigiri, or Japanese rice balls. Theyre more or less just triangles of rice with different fillings inside of them, with options like beef, teriyaki chicken, eel, and scrambled egg. Theyre all tasty but the teriyaki chicken is my favorite. If you havent been yet, give it a shot! Their prices are very reasonable.
My sister was like, "Lets try it." Im cool, I like Korean food. Okay, damn delicious.
I really enjoy this place since the rice balls are delicious and filling despite their size. My favorite order is three chicken teriyaki riceballs with edamame. It doesnt take that long either for the order to be ready. Even takeout is fast and they wrap and label each riceball.
Great food at a really reasonable price. Ive been going here consistently for about 3 or 4 years now. Personal favorite of mine. Lots of different options for the rice balls too.
I love this place! If I lived closer, I would be here at least once a week. I have not tried all of the rice balls yet but so far my favorites are the spicy shrimp and the crab meat. I have also really enjoyed the avocado roll. The rice balls are even great if you take them to go but there is some assembly required. I definitely recommend this delicious restaurant.
I love this place. I wish there were more locations. I drive all the way from Covina to visit. All of their flavors are delicious. Ive never had a disappointing visit to Gam Tu Bop. Everything literally taste great.
Amazing food at incredibly low low prices! Such a lovely family run local business. The owner told me that the name Gam Tu Bop came from that moment in time when say a student comes home to Mom to visit and Mom gives him/her a big heap of rice and all the best food as a feast to show her love! β€οΈ
Really tasty onigiri for an extremely affordable price. Wife and I ate for $14 and we are stuffed. Tried chicken curry and unagi - only downside is the furikaki is a little too salty and I def felt the sodium afterwards (with miso soup as wellso keep that in mind! Otherwise, stellar rice balls!
Wonderfully surprised at this place. Stopped in for just a quick snack while I was out and decided on the shrimp roll. Decent sized portion and price for just one. Will be back sometime to try more!
The beef: little bit salty for me. Quick service.
Very tasty! Friendly staff. They gave me the heads up that the Kimchi has fish in it, so avoid if you dont eat meat. Thanks again!
Gam tu bop is so delicious and so affordable ! Just a little ways away from the Americana and the perfect place for a warm filling food. They have so many options and all of them are delicious, quick, and the staff are so nice. I really recommend you try it. πππ
This place is clean, the food is cheap, yummy, and filling, and the staff is always friendly. I love the udon and you cant go wrong with any of the rice balls! There usually isnt too much of a wait. It is a great place to grab a quick lunch if you work in the area or are shopping nearby at the Americana or the Galleria.
Ive never had better rice balls anywhere. Their prices are super reasonable (cheaper than restaurantsand the food sources are clearly good quality and very much made with love. Me and my friends go to this place super often and its always been great. Wish the elusive burdock wasnt out of stock so often, but I guess thats just incentive to come around more.Favorites are the tamago, salmon, and crab meat, but thats purely because of my own preferences. Everything here is well made.
Prett good onigiri and miso soup. Our favorite spot is Sunny Blue on the westside but if you cant/dont want to take a trip to Santa Monica & Culver City this spot will do. And its cheaper, too. The staff is great. We will definitely be back.
So delicious, so cheap! Truly a gem. Iβve been here several times, and have never been disappointed with the rice balls or the service. Get the spicy shrimp! Three rice balls are really filling, though two rice balls are usually enough.
I love eating rice balls and Gam Tu Bop has one of the best tasting rice balls. Not only they are delicious but very affordable. Its perfect for a quick lunch or dinner. The rice balls come with different fillings and are sprinkled with Furikake seasoning which gives it that delicious taste. My favorites are the salmon, beef and unagi rice rolls. You cannot just eat one roll but eating two or three will definitely fill you up.
The best onigiri Ive ever had. Ever since I found out about it Ive been coming here 2-3 times a week. Cant recommend highly enough! They have great vegetarian and vegan options too!
First time eat there, the rice balls are impressed me, so fresh & bomb! Must try it π
Great unplanned find walking around. Beef rice ball is like beef bulgogi and very tasty!! Its all good. Good selection of fillings. Nice staff.
Friendly staff and very helpful to this first-timer. The race balls were yummy (spicy pork, curry chicken, unagias was the noodle soup--loved the flavorful broth. I will be back. Very enjoyable.
Fast food style musubi. Not as good as the musubi cart thats around some farmers markets in LA (main problem was that a few rice balls of all that we tried fell apart really easily and nori was on the side), but still delicious and filling for the price.Their beef rice ball is delicious!
Good place for a quick bite to eat. The selection of balls is pretty good and varied. My favorite is the spicy shrimp, and the bulgogi is also good. I was a little disappointed by the unagi as I found it a little too fatty for my liking, but Ive enjoyed everything else Ive had!
Amazing! It was very filling, healthy, cheap, and very very good. The food is well seasoned too. I recommend the beef and spicy shrimp rice ball. Also the miso soup is very good.
Nice change from all of the burgers and kabobs, simple Korean rice balls and a couple of cup bops they also have salads and noodles. I tried the beef cup bop and spicy shrimp rice ball, my significant other ordered the Gam Tu Bop#1 which comes your choice of three rice balls, pickeld ginger and edamame.
Amazing and affordable little restaurant!Normally as a vegetarian its really difficult being able to find meatless rice balls but this place has changed that! They have a nice selection of vegan and vegetarian as well as salads and miso soup made without fish stock. The people are super nice here too!10/10 would recommend
