Galerija Bar Food - Bar & grill in Split, Croatia
One of the best coffees in Split...
I decided to eat here because of the nice reviews. The outside tables and surroundings are beautiful. However the food was not tasteful. The Gnocchi with calamaris was pricy in comparison with other restaurants and was bland. The polenta with beef stew was tasteless.Of course, it is a matter of taste.
Fantastic coffee in a nice little courtyard. Didnt try any food though.
Fabulous stuffed gnocchi and seafood!
Delightful dishes in an exquisite setting. Excellent wines, attentive service.
Beware: They are not handing out a coffee card right away, because prices are rip-off. Almost double compared to bars around the corner. Don’t support these practices.
Coffe was ok, but waiters and toilet are awful. And they dont serve food after 11am
Service was almost nonexistent. Waitress seemed exasperated with everyone. The gnocchi meat stew sauce was sour, the gnocchi itself was just a rolled flavorless dough. The shrimp zucchini risotto was just heavy and didn’t taste like shrimp or risotto at all, it was so weird. Waitress never asked why we didn’t eat more than half of each dish. I had tried to flag her down 4 times and each time she ignored me and went inside. I eventually gave up and went inside to ask for the check. It was expensive and we still had to go out for a snack afterwards. Do not go here!
Would not recommend. Sad, bland food. My salad tasted like dish soap, the beans were way overcooked and the “sashimi” tuna tasted like frying oil and seemed like it had been frozen… Service was good though
Very good diner and cute place!
Great food, nice terrace. Good service and wine
The white coffee is quite good and larger than most, but the service can be iffy. Twice the waiter was surly and not helpful, and once the young lady wasnt. They have a nice combination of coffee and juice and/or pastry.
In the middle of the 1700 year’s old town. Incredible staff, delicius homemade food, plenty of special vines. All what you need to see and enjoy your desire ... Relax. Recommended. No doubt !👍
Really enjoyable. Love Split. Friendly and helpful staff. Smiling 😀 always good. Fortunately my wife and I will eat what is available on the menu rather than demand other food... She is vegetarian and I can eat what ever I fancy so menu fulfilled all our wants and more while loving being in centre of history. What more could you wish for,
I came here following the Google reviews. I desperately wish Id had the same experience as others said. I have a lot of allergies and I put these into a list and translated them and gave my phone to the waiter. As soon as I said I had allergies, the waiters response was "why!?" - yeah, youre telling me pal, try living with it!!He took my phone back to the kitchen and I thought okay maybe thats a good thing . Then someone from the kitchen brought the phone back to me and said nothing, just handed the phone to me and walked off. We waited around 15 minutes to see if anyone would come and speak to us. Both the waiter and the kitchen staff walked past us multiple times, we tried to make eye contact to see what was happening. Eventually we left. We walked past the chef in the alleyway smoking and still nothing.Really disappointing considering the wholly different experience others seemed to have had. DO NOT GO HERE if you are gluten free, vegan , dairy free, egg free or have fodmap intolerances
We came here after seeing some good reviews. Unfortunately, if you have any allergies such as gluten, dairy or if you are vegan, you will not be made welcome. My girlfriend has food intolerances which are out with her control, however, the waiter made us feel unwelcome as soon as we mentioned these. We gave him a list of these, then we were totally ignored until we felt we had to leave as we had no choice. Avoid this place.
The place was nice and calm and the food was nice and also vegetarian friendly. The dishes were a little bit too small and the prices are ok for split (80-130 kn for a main dish)...
Mixed feelings. Scenery and soup were good. Staff struggled with English and couldnt explain the menu properly. Also the menu was confusing and did not properly describe the meals. Had to wait 20 minutes for bill after having asked for the bill several times.
Amazing !!!! Perfect food, perfect service, wonderful place !!! The best restaurant of Split !!
Nice and cozy place, friendly service. But the food was too fatty, we took their most popular beefcheaks and pasta with smoked salmon. Tee and cake were great.
Good experience. The food quality was superbe and the taste was delicate. We ate in a very beautiful little garden.
This was one of the best restaurants on my trip in croatia. The black ravoli with truffle oil was one of the best pastas i have ever had in my life and my mother grew up in Italy and cooks fresh sauce and homemade pasta weekly!
Good vegetarian options and great setting. The two problems we had were the slow inattentive service and the mistakes in English on the menu. For example ‘Stewed Vegetables’ had no stewed veggies but was a vegetarian salad. Although still nice this was misleading.
Lovely food in a lovely setting. Reasonably priced compared to other restaurants in Split. Gorgeous pasta dishes. Only let down was our waiter who was more attentive to bigger groups than couples and complained about being the only waiter working that evening, even though it wasnt particularly busy
The food was excellent. The meet tender, the sauce spicy and the pumpkin gnocchi fluffy. The chocolate cake was just incredible. The Gin Tonic and the wine were just perfect. Other cocktails were good too. Also the service was competent and very friendly. We will definitely come back in the future.
Amazing place with a great atmosphere. Vegan options available and clearly marked. Local craft beer.
Beautiful food, beautifully presented in a beautiful and unique setting. 100% recommended!Honestly, this was one of the best meals we had on our recent trip to Split. The food was simply fabulous, beautifully presented with delicate and sophisticated flavours but without being too fussy. The setting is stunning and utterly unique and the service was fantastic. Our waiter, Toni, was also fantastic. If you are in Split, you must go here for dinner!
Pricy but exquisite meal. One of the waiters is absolutely useless and couldnt even bring us a bill, but the rest of the staff were great, the restaurant is beautiful, and we loved our meals. The vegetarian food is delicious.
Really cosy place, hide in a small court, the food is amazing, tasty, with nice portions, and the team is really nice! Food lovers, this place is for you😁
The food tasted good, except the tofu. But I wasnt satisfied with the service people. They were a bit unfriendly and not really welcoming. At the time of my visit, they offered 4 vegetarian menu options. And the restaurant is inside the walls of the palace. It is worth a visit but I wish the waiters were a bit more open and welcoming then I would have recommended the place more openly.
Expected a bit more from Galerija. Visited in September 2017.Superb locaion: in the Old Town and nestled in a courtyard. After reading some good reviews, we decided to pop in in our first night in Split. We ordered a mezze plate that consisted of a wee salad, hummus and pesto at £10... a bit pricey and the hummus had a different texture than we are used to. On to mains, we ordered the tofu wok and the barley with cuttlefish. They were good and flavoured but we were not wowed. I think the rice and the barley was a bit undercooked.Service was attentive without being abruptive.
Delicious cup of coffee in this attractive courtyard. Tiny toilets but clean enough.
Delicious!! Food was amazing and the location is beautiful! Super recommended! The staff is also friendly :best restaurant in town! Definitely going back! P.s: best vegan brownie Ive had so far! With a refreshing white chocolate sauce 😍
Really loved the salad here. Perfectly dressed and simple. Pasta with burrata was delicious. Perfectly cooked pasta with creamy cheese. Whats not to love. The setting is beautiful. Definately the best meal I have had in Split so far! Go try this place. You wont be disappointed
Very charming place in the split old town. The salmon was very good and the tofu risotto seemed undercooked and a bit too salty but the waiter explained its wild rice and its supposed to be like that, but id prefer it softer. Despite that, we enjoyed ourselves there!
We were satisfied, the food was tasty, one of only few restaurants in Croatia where you can enjoy your food without inhaling cigarettes smoke. The waiter warned me of "untraditional" taste of a special food (I liked the food anywayand was helpful.
The food is a amazing. Excellent mix of flavours and nice presentation. The prices are in agreement with the quality of the dishes. Good selection of wines. Staff quite charming and polite. The decorations and surroundings are ideal for a quiet romantic dinner. reservation is strongly recommended, since the place gets crowded quickly.
Waiter was friendly and funny. We enjoyed our appetizer and meals. I would recommend this restaurant. However, it was a little hard to find, even eith Google Maps, but thats par for the course in the old part of Split.
Very friendly waiter who did the best he could to accommodate us on a busy night. We enjoyed all the meals we sampled, including the vegetarian options.
Had a shashuka for breakfast. Price is 54kn. It was good but maybe I expect more to come.
Best vegetarian food in Split! Very nice location, very friendly staff, fantastic cocktails and a decent selection of quality vegetarian food (which is quite an accomplishment in Split). Would definitely recommend, but on weekends in high season make sure to make a booking.
The food was amazing and the staff helpful and friendly! Excellent cappuccino too!
Galerija was by far the best place I ate at while in Split. With the place being so touristy, the promise of a good meal and the actual meal just did not meet expectations, however at Galerija there choice of food was not only delicious but passed my expectation. I had a beef salad, which was tender and the reduced vimgeratte dressing just added to its tastiness. It was a late find while in Split but definitely one of my favourite choices. The beautiful courtyard and the friendly service all added to the experience.
we visited Galerija on our first evening in Split. it is not to be missed! everything was incredible; a particular highlight was the burrata with fresh pasta, tomatoes, and olives - it was fresh, delicious, and very satisfying! definitely come here for some great food, relaxing atmosphere, and great, attentive service.
My absolute favourite dinner place in split. Quality service, drinks, and food. Brought my family here when they came to visit as it’s always a hit. They thoroughly enjoyed it.
Great atmosphere! Gorgeous view!Food was so-so. Got the marinated salmon and either my definition of marinate is wrong or it means something completely different in Croatia. Salmon was plain and not marinated, it sat on top of a white dressing of sorts and was still pink and undercooked in the middle.
We came here for dinner and was a brilliant find. Service was great and it felt much quieter and private than a lot of the busy restaurants in Split. Food was very delicious and great wine too. Sitting outside in the little quadrant was very relaxing - watching the hustle and bustle of tourists busy by!
Good vegetarian options! Had the smoked tofu salad. Really nice. A little in the expensive side.
Just had dinner in this beautiful patio inside the Palace. Great service despite the white wine was not that cold. The waiter immediately fixed the little problem. The veggie sald with feta cheese and the pork sandwich top top! Super recommended.
Located in the historical city center. Lots of tourists, very busy. Only 3 vegetarian options but excellent quality. Fresh and very well cooked. Really good cocktails. Prices are honest (specially compared to western europe). If you want to eat in the center, its a good choice.
