Calle Manríquez, 1, 14003 Córdoba, Spain, Cordoba
Small museum dedicated to the Spanish Inquisition, showcasing various torture devices.
Its no longer there, but the location was never updated. Now its a Cashmere store. 😪
Its move on to sevilla
Interesting for adults, not adecuate for kids. We went with the whole family, kids included. I wished someone would warn us so we wouldnt let the kids in. So upset about that.
Found this a very interesting and enlightening trip.
No gift shop. Very disappointing. Wanted to buy chastity belt for my daughter
A place with good history about the wrong things people in power did to people that did not think the same way.A perfect example why Church and State should be separated. Not to be confused in any way with what Jesus commissioned the Church to do."Go and make disciples and teach them".... not kill them.Important to know that these things ever happened. Not recommended for children under 12.
Small museum in Cordoba giving a brief history of the Spanish Inquisition and displaying real instruments used for torture during the Inquisition and in others medieval periods. On contrary of other comments here, the pictures are excellent and depict the true horror of what happened. Entrance is not expensive and this is definitely a must for people who like history.
It was a interesting but shocking place. The way they torture people in the past is shocking and unbelievable. The place was small and dark, but it was okey! It was cheap to go in.
Lugar realmente curioso.
Just a viewing of torture devises. We were thinking it would have more information about the history of it.
A collection of torture tools accompanied by soft porn pictures of them being used on people mainly naked women. If you are wanting to learn about the history of the Inquisation you will be disappointed.
Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!
Accurate, well depicted sad history of human religious zealosy.
Loved it! Cheap and very interesting! Has all sorts of torture devices used in the middle ages. Come on an empty stomach.
Really interesting place!
Awesome. But if. You had any doubts about the depravity of the human being. This will secure them. Although there were some amusing bits. I would not suggest taking. Kids.
The musuem for Spanish inquisition. It was really amazing and much better than what we had expected... The entry cost is also very minimal... Good to visit in Cordoba!
Interesting
Wow
So interesting!!! Explanations, elements, old images and new pictures are great to understand the methods used till 2/centuries ago
a modern gallery with old Inquisition tools with their descriptions. Worth a quick visit 😉
Fast visit to this little museum full of medieval torture machines, from the classical ones, to the most particular ones used during the inquisition
Ripped us off 10 euros....change given incorrect but wouldnt believe us....disappointing
Its a collection of torture tools. Would be better if there was some attempt at putting there use in context explaining more about the Spanish Inquisition, why it was created, its methods and achievements, what it became.
Very interesting but it made me really uneasy at some point. I first thought it was like a small museum about Spanish Inauisition but its really ALL about torture instruments. For each instrument, you see the name, how it was used on people and a picture to show so your imagination will do the rest =/
Its amazing place to see when in Cordoba. Not for weak stomachs
Deeply disturbing Museum of human inflicted suffering in the name of religion. It is unimaginable that humans could do this to each other. A chilling reminder of the capacity for evil we carry within us, and a good reminder the why the separation of church and state was a good idea. Hint: It was never for the protection of the church, but for the state, who, when fueled by religious fervor will industrialize evil in the name of religion. That said it is still a worthy exhibit to see.
Great fun and if you like that sort of thing its pretty gory too
I walked into the ticket area before I realized this wasnt so much about the Inquisition as it was about the instruments people in power used to do the most awful things to helpless people. I dont have the stomach for that. I left without going inside.
A fun museum! Not really about the inquisition though. This museum is more of a gallery of antique torture devices. There really isnt that much information about the inquisition. Having said this, we still really enjoyed it and it is cheap! (3 euro on 9 June 2016). Well worth a visit when it is so hot outside!
Not much to see, relies on titillation rather than historical scholarship. O.K. if youve got a child with a morbid fascination with torture, give it a miss otherwise.
